Alright, to ao3's soon to be arriving Wattpad Refugees, a basic guide to general user culture:

1.) Unlike Wattpads vote system that let's you like each chapter, the ao3 equivalent kudos only allows one per work. Everyone is generally quietly annoyed about this. To engage with each chapter, you're heavily encouraged to comment. Trust me, it makes people's day.

2.) Ao3 has no algorithm. By default it's latest updated work first. You can find things to your taste through searches, filters and tags.

3.) 'No archive warnings apply' and 'user has chosen not to use archive warnings' mean two very different things. No archives warnings means the work is free from any content that could require a warning tag (character death, graphic depictions of violence, non-con, etc). User has chosen not to use archive warnings means it could contain any of the warning content, be it hasn't been explicitly tagged. Treat it like an allergen. No archive warnings apply is allergen free. User has chosen not to use archive warnings, may contain traces or whole chunks of the allergen. If you're likely to have a bad reaction, maybe don't take the risk.

4.) Speaking of warnings, ao3 has very few restrictions on the type of work that's allowed. Whatever your personal thoughts or feelings on that are, thats how the site is. You're likely to run across some dark subject matters and a lot of people are uncomfortable with reading that. You're well within your rights not like these works and have your opinion on whether they should be allowed, but harassing the authors of such works (or any works) is more likely to come back on you than them. Ao3 operates on a strong policy of 'don't like, don't read'. Use the tagging system to your full advantage to only engage with the kind of works you want to see.

Hey so for those who have deleted wattpad or don’t use it let me tell you what I just opened the ad to…

How the hell are you gonna remove a dam yeastier for everyone but boys that message you now!! What the heck?!? And then not announce it anywhere else but on the app for your phone only!!

Look I was okay with the ads increasing on there over the years because that’s how websites are. I was okay with memberships to read the hardcore stories being made into movies, because hey it’s a great way for a publisher to get discovered! I was okay with a lot of changes even the fact you can’t open the website or even the app without 5 ads being seen. But dms?!? Like that’s one of the 5 main features left! And the only thing the wattpad bot sends now is spam on hey would you like premium for $5.99 a month? Like next thing you know you won’t be able to comment on a story more than 5 times a day or something without premium, or you won’t be able to have more than two library lists or something.

I get why every fanfic writer is going to AO3 now though, cause hardly anything changes over there and god knows there’s hell of a lot less ads!

As of now, Florida and Kansas have passed bills that align with KOSA.

So many people have held back on speaking out against KOSA or signing petitions because "it probably won't pass." But we have proof that it very well can and will.

So what can we do right now?

The same thing we've been doing: bring awareness and protest.

Discoveries from the new welcome home update

so far here's what I have been able to find with the codes using the cypher on this fancy little chart on the merchandise page.

Your Neighborhood page finds:

So in total the neighbor page has the following letters:

W, N, E, F and S.

Now as for the Media page this is what I have found:

Letter I found on Media page: X and Y

Now here's all the letters found on the Guest book:

Now here's what I found on the news page:

overall letters (just the one this time): T

Findings on sticker page:

Finally on the play fellow exhibition I found this:

On the about us section here is what I found:

Letters in this section: S and A

So so far I have found the letters: w, w, w, N, A, S, E, F, X, Y, W, N, E, F and S. If I had to guess just based off the fact we have www listed it's going to give us another link of some kind as www. is of course used for links.

However I had 1 other finding. I found that the welcome home sign itself looks...inky? I don't know how to word it other than I can physically see what looks like stains on the letter itself on the sticker page specifically! I tried to circle it to prove my point in the image bellow as well. Yet, I found it can be seen best on the yellow letter L on the Welcome home part.

Famed manga creator Akira Toriyama has passed away on March 1, 2024 at age 68 due to acute subdural hematoma.

Toriyama began his first serialized manga, Dr. Slump, in 1980, and it inspired two television anime and multiple films. Toriyama followed it up with Dragon Ball, which ran from 1984 to 1995, and is still inspiring manga and anime sequels and spinoffs today. The manga's Dragon Ball anime adaptation, its sequel Dragon Ball Z, and its other numerous sequels and anime films are equally as well-known as the manga, and its hero Goku has become a character known throughout the world.

Toriyama is also well-known as the character designer for the Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, Blue Dragon and Tobal games.

Most recently, Toriyama was working closely with the production for the Dragon Ball Daima anime series, the most recent anime series based on Dragon Ball, and is credited for the new anime's story and character designs.
