Well well well a lot of you seemed spiked about my last post so here we go an explanation of why Huskerdust works.
I wanna start by saying I was reading some comments and I saw a take on how the show made Alastor husk’s abuser only to have him be able to relate to Angel.
While I get that interpretation I wouldn’t flat out say that Alastor is abusive towards either husk nor nifty. He has controls over their souls/lives yes but he only exercises that control when he needs too, he doesn’t do so out of pleasure of control (which is what Valentino does to Angel).
As for Husk being a victim of Al, I do agree that it seemingly came out of nowhere (though it would make sense as to while he’s at the hotel, we learn that he’s being forced by Al to stay rather than staying on his own accord.) It was revealed early on that Husk was an overlord but that wasn’t from the pilot, and since I am strictly sticking to content that the show/pilot provided I won’t go into it.
When it comes to the core of what makes Huskerdust work, I would have to argue for power dynamics.
The thing about Radiodust that turns most people off is the unbalanced power dynamic. Alastor is a powerful overlord, Angel, while being more than capable of handling himself, wouldn’t be able to defend himself against Al. Essentially it would remind people of his dynamic with Valentino, thought Alastor clearly wouldn’t take advantage of Angel in the same way.
This is where Huskerdust works better, they’re on more even playing field. Especially because of the fact that both are controlled by overlords, which brings me to episode 4.
Husk is able to relate to Angel because he also made a deal (well lost a deal) for his soul, and is controlled by someone way more powerful than himself that he knows he can’t escape from. Husk isn’t relating to the way that Angel is abused, more so the way that he’s being controlled.
Which brings me to my next point the fact that Huskerdust feels forced. In the argument against Radiodust it doesn’t make sense cause Raidodust just feels as forced.
But in the argument of Huskerdust alone let’s look at episode 4.
The episode is so packed because not only does it really expand Angel’s story and abuse, but Husk actually gets a personality.
We learn why Angel acts the way he does, the reason he’s so sexual is because he gets abused in that way (it’s common for SA victims to hyper-sexualize themselves). And he’s drug addicted in effort to destroy himself so that Val might leave him.
We learn that Husk is the person everyone “bitches” to in his words. He knows everyone’s issues, and based on how he interacts with Angel we can guess that instead of offering solutions Husk is more the type to comfort someone by understanding their situation.
But it’s really all service level still, we have greater understanding of who both of them are as people.
I’m interested to see how Husker and Angel get developed further as the show goes on.

My theory on why so many ppl are jumping from radiodust to huskerdust after the show has come out .
Back in the pilot, Angel and Alastor were arguably the most engaging/interesting characters. The rest of the cast really took a backseat.
Think of their introductions, we get introduced to Charlie through song, and we generally learn that her main traits are being optimistic but naive. We also learn that she’s a princess of hell but the pilot doesn’t do much with that.
Vaggie is introduced to us as a strict but caring person, especially to Charlie but outside of that we really know nothing about her, she isn’t engaging.
Then we get Angel, thus far his introduction is the most engaging, we meet him in the middle of a terf war. We get to know his sense of humor, his form of reasoning, and his humanity (we see him feel guilty for hurting the hotel’s reputation).
Who’s next? The radio demon. The fact that Charlie, the princess of hell, is wary around him peaks our interest already, the way he carries himself, the way that Vaggie is so defensive at his presence, the “I would have done so”, line. Just after learning Alastor’s name we become interested because of how the other characters interact with him.
Then Vaggie gives a whole backstory too, really we learn the most about him and the structure of hell through her explanation.
We see him take charge of everything, then he summons two more characters.
We meet nifty, we know nothing about her other than her love for cleaning and men.
Then there’s husk, who seems to talk to Alastor in a very familiar way, again someone who peaks our interest, because we know how feared the radio demon is, yet here he is referring to him in a casual manner; the same can be said for nifty, but other than the fact that they’re involved with Alastor we know nothing about them.
There’s also the interaction between Alastor and Angel. The dynamic seems to be engaging because after learning who he is, Angel doesn’t change his attitude at all. (Though it seems he wouldn’t change it for anyone.)
A few years later the show is out, and va’s are replaced and characters get to be fleshed out.
We see more of a connection between Husk and Angel, especially after episode 4.
Alastor and Angel don’t really interact that much (at least of what is available as of writing this) and it seems like their dynamic hasn’t change; Angel’s breaking of boundaries and Al’s deadpanned responses.
They’re not too interesting to observe, at least now.
But we do see more of Husk and Angel’s interactions, which are very entertaining, Husk gives the reaction that Angel looks for, and Husk, despite knowing that responding at all will just please Angel continues to interact with him.
TLDR: Huskerdust is becoming more popular than Radiodust because their dynamic is more engaging and believable, while Raidodust was mainly popular due to the fact that Angel and Al were the most interesting characters in the pilot, which changed with the full show.
Idk just had these thoughts for a while, and felt like sharing my thoughts, if anyone is interested in an explanation of how Huskerdust works where Radiodust fails leme know.
Or don’t, ships are random and people just like seeing pretty pictures together.

It’s been a while so I’ll reward YALL with a fluffy head cannon
I like to think that Davi’s head is the most sensitive part of his body, sensitive in the sense that it’s the part of his body that he can feel another person the most at
He can feel people with his hands but they’re always warm
So touching heads, head pats, forehead kisses those are his favorite, it’s the most he can feel
Ugh I never do sweet head cannons enjoy this
Omg shigadabi doing forehead touches because they both have dangerous hands-
