Dear followers,
Yesterday, it was a big day for me and my friends and also for Rio de Janeiro State University, where I study. Pepe Mujica came to Rio de Janeiro to win 2015 South Personality award of Federasur. He talked about legalization of marijuana, reducing of minimum age and military coup threats in Latin America. We students raised the choir "It won’t have coup" in response to requests of President Dilma Roussef’s impeachment and others against the minimum age reducing, abortion law and marijuana legalization.
"The prison should be stove. Prison doesn’t help to overcome the social deformations, but multiplies. I don’t believe the way to strengthen the penalties help because what we have to offer is much worse. The drug trade brought a structure redefined moral limits of violence. I believe that this is one of the worst offenses of human civilization today. There is no doubt that it is an issue that mercy be rethought", said Mujica.
The senator reminded the young people that "we can't imitate Europe, we won't pursue developments with suffering, with crunch. We want development with happiness because generosity is the best deal of humanity. The worst are the banks."
Again, Mujica recalled the case that happened in Uruguay to crack down on drug dealing. "If you want to change, you can't keep doing the same. In my small country, we saw that we couldn't simply suppress trafficking or crime someone has committed to buy drugs. And as though to repress are losing the war, decided to address the issue like any business. This is not legalization, this is regulation. Today there is no alternative than buying in the underground world. We in Uruguay don't believe that drugs are good. They are all bad, since the cigarette. If I take whiskey all day, it's not good. If I take a bottle, I admitted."
"If we allow the clandestine world, we have no control. If people want and we can control every day a little, we can act. Otherwise, when you see, it's too late. It's not legalization. It is alive smoking. This is a plague", Mujica concluded that before leaving took a picture in front of the public who attended the event.
Mujica also said “The only losers in the world are those who leave fighting” and “This democracy isn't perfect because we aren't perfect. But we have to defend it to improve it, not to bury it.”
It was a dream. It was a night that I will never forget.

Student denounces an attempt to gang rape in São Paulo subway
This Thursday Mayra Nakamura - a journalism student - used the social networks to make a serious complaint about sexual abuse in São Paulo subway. Just in this year, at least three similar occurrences have been recorded in subway and rail systems of the state capital.
The text reveals an attempt to a gang rape that took place early on Thursday in one compositions of Line 3 - Red. The victim declined to be identified. "My story is public exactly to be disclosed as much as possible. I release the dissemination and take responsibility", said Mayra.
Catraca Livre's wording of contacted a Metro's spokesperson who said it was investigating the images through their security cameras.
"Guys, I wanted to report and give a warning to all the girls I know and live in São Paulo. Today, 20/08, in the morning (8 am - 9 am), my friend witnessed a disgusting event, traumatic, horrible, on the subway Company of Metropolitan São Paulo - Subway. She was on the line 3 - red, which gave an issue which were operating at reduced speed and increased stopping time at stations, which in turn filled wagons beyond the normal.
At one point of the trip, a GIRL seemingly 16/17 years was being humping by the guy behind her and she complained. The asshole wanted to argue, saying that if she wanted space she shouldn't be there, but the girl continued to complain and asked the guy to stop. In the middle of it all, another man shouted "Rape her to her know what is real humping"! YES, HE SHOUTED this barbarity! The worst was that ALL THE REST OF PEOPLE began to incite violence against the girl screaming "Rape her! Rape her!" The girl who was the target froze in panic.
The train was stopped between Tatuapé and Bresser-Mooca stations, the guy who was humping the girl went over her hold her and another guy next to them ALSO TRIED TO HANDLE HER. My friend who was a little behind the whole situation pushed the people who were blocking her passage, helped the girl to come out of the guys and the two were at the door to come down. BUT CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THE ABSURD THAT WAS IT? METRO IN FULL, ONE 16 YEARS OLD GIRL SUFFERED A COLLECTIVE RAPE ATTEMPT!
And when my friend took the girl (who was in shock, unable to speak, only crying) for the SSO to record the occurrence, EMPLOYEES THAT ANSWERED DIDN'T MADE THE REGISTRATION FOR THE VICTIM BECAUSHE SHE SHOULD TESTIFY, my friend couldn't tell what happened (remember that the victim stowage unable to TALK) and nothing could be done. So my friend can just wait for the girl's relatives arrive, to make sure she would be safe and go.
We don't know if the raped girl managed to make the complaint, but the attitude of the staff was terrible and absolutely contradictory to the campaign against sexual abuse recently released by Metro said.
I want that this big text here shows everyone that we live in a society where rape culture is a fact, that violence against women is normalized, and therefore we can't keep us passive in the situation! This girl was a victim, many others need to go through the same, or worse off, so that the change in thinking and the effective combating of violence will happen?
So, it's not only the alert to girls (help each others, really, ever!), but also for Subwat, for which effectively train your employees."

A pair of siblings in Boston, Massachusetts targeted and ambushed a 58-year-old homeless Latino man because one brother was “inspired in part” by 2016 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, the Boston Globe reported.
Police arrived on the scene early Wednesday to a homeless man covered in urine, whose nose was broken and chest and arms were battered. The victim told police that “he was awakened by two men urinating on his face.” He said they ripped away his blankets and sleeping bag, hit him in the face and the head, and punched him several times. According to the Boston Globe, several witnesses saw the homeless man being attacked.
The victim is in fair condition, though he has a broken nose and multiple bruises on his head and torso.
Scott Leader, one of the two brothers, told police that the victim started the confrontation. He also reportedly said that “it was OK to assault the man because he was Hispanic and homeless,” adding, “Donald Trump was right, all these illegals need to be deported.”
In his campaign launch speech, GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump made incendiary comments suggesting that Mexican immigrants are rapists, drug dealers, and killers — remarks that immigrant advocacy groups widely condemned.
Boston officials, including Mayor Martin J. Walsh and Police Commissioner William B. Evans, condemned the Leaders. When Trump heard about the incident, he reportedly said, “It would be a shame… I will say that people who are following me are very passionate. They love this country and they want this country to be great again. They are passionate.”
Trump’s assumptions about immigrants being criminals are simply unfounded. A recent Immigration Policy Council report found that immigrants commit fewer crimes than native-born Americans. In this case, the Leader brothers have extensive criminal records.
Hate crimes against Latinos have been on the rise for some time. Statistics published annually by the Federal Bureau of Investigation have found that anti-Latino crimes rose by 35 percent between 2003 and 2006, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. And a 2013 FBI Hate Crime Statistics report found that 52.6 percent of 821 Latino victims were targeted because of anti-Hispanic or anti-Latino bias.
Still, attacking a homeless Latino man in Boston was perhaps an illogical choice for the Leader brothers. There are actually over 10,000 undocumented Irish immigrants living in the city. Trump, for his part, once advocated for European-only immigration.
Scott Leader also once served a year in prison for a hate crime after he attacked a Moroccan man in Boston just days after after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, according to court records.
Donald Trump’s Hispanophobic bigotry aided and abetted two brothers into beating a homeless Latino man.

Repudiation note to the aggression suffered by Congresswoman Jandira Feghali (PCdoB-RJ)
Once again House of Representatives is the scene of a sexist aggression and incitement to violence against women. Yesterday during the vote on the MP's 664 and 665 to Congressman Jandira Feghali (PCdoB-RJ) was physically assaulted by Federal Deputy Roberto Freire (PPS-SP) who grabbed her arm. Then beaten and threatened verbally by Mr. Alberto Fragra (DEM-DF) supporting and inciting violence against the woman he said: "Women who participates of politics and hits like a man, must be beaten as a man." Fragra, which supports violence against women is the same as hard defends the Reduction of Criminal Majority.
It is unacceptable that violence against women and sexism are played in a space that should fight against them. Every 15 seconds a woman is beaten in Brazil, one in four brazilian is a victim of domestic violence. The violence suffered by Jandira is the same that reaches several brazilian in their homes, on the street, in public transport, at work. The high levels of violence against women shame our country. We are among the seven countries that kill women in the world!
Women are the majority of the electorate. But are still under-represented, with less than 10% of Congress. Only 51 women were elected to the House of Representatives of a total of 413 Deputies. Congresswoman Jandira Feghali is among them. The rapporteur of the Maria da Penha Law, is a mother of two and the only woman leader of a party in the House of Representatives.
The applicants scenes of sexism, rights setback as the Reduction of Criminal Majority and the approval of PL 4330, is the result of more conservative Congress since 1964. And only reaffirms the immediate need for a Democratic Political Reform to create conditions and extend political participation of women. The parliament is mostly straight, white and male, a hostile environment for women fighting against all forms of oppression and in defense of democracy. Yesterday, the victim was Mrs. Maria do Rosário, Jandira Feghali today, before them, others. Until when inside and outside the parliament women will continue at the mercy of sexism? Violence against women is not the Brazil we want!
Social movements demanding justice, violence against women can’t go unpunished!
Sexism shall not pass!

Baltimore is here!
SÃO PAULO - Two homeless people were wounded by shrapnel bullet during operation of Prefecture in “crackoland” in the center, this Wednesday, 29. The action to remove stalls held by dependents, known as "Favelinha", ended in conflict. Crack users set up barricades with cardboard, and the Shock Troops threw gas bombs.
The state Secretary of Public Security, Alexandre de Moraes, criticized the operation. He said that was anticipated and that the folder had not been informed. "What had been agreed, at first, it is that the City would do the registration and inclusion, and we build together an operation to collect tents and tarps. Today, the City began to inclusion and anticipated this second part, and we were not warned". The City Hall did not comment on the statements of Moraes.

The Government of Paraná deeply regrets the acts of confrontation, aggression and vandalism caused on the afternoon of Wednesday (29) by foreign protesters to the movement of state employees who were concentrated in front of the Legislative Assembly. The repeated attempts of these protesters to invade State Parliament's space culminated in the defense action of the police forces, deployed to enforce the court order of protection to the Assembly and its free democratic exercise. Radicalism and irrationality of masked and armed people with stones, fireworks bombs, sticks and iron rods used against the police officers are directly responsible for the confrontation that has developed in the "Praça Nossa Senhora de Salete". Unfortunately, police officers and demonstrators were injured. Seven people were arrested for direct involvement in the attacks on police. And the investigation into the acts perpetrated by people linked to the black-bloc movement is already underway, under the responsibility of the Secretary of Public Security and Prison Administration. Curitiba, April 29, 2015 PARANÁ GOVERNMENT
Check out the note of APP-Union:
Repudiation note of APP-Union's direction The state leadership of APP-Union rejects all police action used against our category - and the other comrades (as) servers (the) state - this tragic Wednesday, April 29 and in the days before the vote the bill 252/2015. On this day, that will go down in history as a date to be regretted, the government of Paraná has exceeded all limits. Civility, morality, of humanity. The execrable example of authority's abuse - played by Governor Beto Richa and the Public Security Secretary Fernando Francischini - is a deplorable blot on the history of our state. Hundreds of police were deployed (as), from all regions, to the capital, just in order to ensure the vote, the Legislative Assembly of Paraná, a proposal that could have found consensus, but by greed and incompetence of the governor had its hit game. The police, in a blind and cruel obedience, threw thousands of rubber bullets, tear gas and water jets on people protesting against a project that endangers their pensions. The sweaty future of each of us, Paraná server and server. And so, on this day, despite the peaceful and heroic resistance of (the) servers (the) state, the conduct of the government project continued. The cost of blood and tears of hundreds of workers (as). And that, yes, it is regrettable and put away. In addition to not being able to come and speak out in the "Casa do Povo", we were violently expelled from the streets. It is a disrespect to the democratic rule of law. It is the return of an insane dictatorship, in which the vanity and the personalist project lord governor overrides the desirability of thousands of workers. But the state leadership of APP-Union will continue to do their role, organization and leadership, so that our category is reborn again, this tragedy and remain in the fight for quality public education and respect for (the) workers (as) of Paraná. State of APP-Union Direction
Picture one: you can see what a teacher has suffered. She has been a teacher for 23 years.
Picture two: you can see a policeman that painted himself with pilot pink pen to say that teachers made him blood.
17 policeman were arrested because they refused to participate in the teachers siege. Some people are telling that it wasn’t only 17, but 50.
Children in a day care center were hit and had to be taken faster of the place. children. in a day care center. I will repeat: children in a day care center. Congratulations, Beto Richa. Meanwhile, the media insists on reporting as confrontation. IT WAS NOT A CONFRONTATION BECAUSE POLICE USED WEAPONS AND TEACHER HAD ONLY THEIR BODIES AS A DEFENSE!
