His smirk is more like; " Yeah, it's cute that he wants to help, I am sure he really means it, but, my love, it's pointless now"
It's a mixture of ( a touch of ) fondness for Obi wan, lots of arrogance about himself and condescension for both Obi wan and Padme, me thinks.
not anakin smiling blushing giggling kicking his feet when Padmé tells him obi-wan wants to help him sir wtf😭😭😭
he was THIS CLOSE to ask her in a silly voice “omg did he really??? so….do you think I have a chance??? my love sit down you have to describe me EVERY single facial expression he made while saying that and you have to tell me his EXACT words”

You know,,, a thing that makes obikin so intrinsically interesting for me it's:
Obi-Wan needs to be chosen,
While Anakin needs to choose.
Obi-Wan feeling like he was always the second choice, always like he's a placeholder for someone else, and Anakin feeling like he had no choices of his own since he was a child; "The Chosen One with no choices of his own" to cite a passage in one of the sw books.
I'd even say that Anakin wants to be chosen but needs to choose, while Obi-Wan wants to choose but needs to be chosen.
The fine difference between what they want and what they need, and the real consequences of this subtle difference when their needs aren't met both in their relationship and for the galaxy,,,,, delicious
Anakin being chosen over the years again and again and again by Obi-Wan while never knowing the truth of it; Obi-Wan being incapable of letting him die no matter how the galaxy would have suffered less without Vader; and then the consequences of Obi-Wan choosing to walk away from him on Mustafar and again ten years later... devastating.
Only in the very end when finally Anakin becomes his own person again, finally he chooses: he saves his son and steps back into the light, ends the terror. After he dies Obi-Wan calls out to him in the Force and that's when Obi-Wan is chosen: when Anakin could have decided to not follow him, to let himself fade, but instead he chooses his Master and follows him home.
It's like poetry, it rhythms.

In the scene where Anakin apologizes to Obi wan for being arrogant and unappreciative of his reachings, you can tell he loves him very much. Anakin is frustrated with the council, the war, his situation with Padme, everything. And ,of course, he has some complaints from Obi wan, for not standing up for him before the council the way he wanted him to, the rako hardeen arc, being too stuck to the jedi code etc.
But we are talking about his mentor, father, mother, brother, friend, brother in arms. He will always care about Obi wan even as Darth Vader. He will always care about how he perceives him even if he has taken the dark path.
I think he partially lied when he said he wasn't frustrated with him. He was but his love was stronger. He didn't want later on to hurt his best friend as long as he was out of his way towards the rule of galaxy.
You can tell from how much Darth Vader talked about his former mentor with Luke. He never stopped thinking about him.
He just thought it was too late to go back.

But as you might guess, the "Born This Way" artist has beaten her depression, and has said, "I learned that my sadness never destroyed what was great about me. You just have to go back to that greatness, find that one little light that's left. I'm lucky I found one little glimmer stored away."
Can we talk about Lady Gaga having great insights on depression?
Depression does not destroy your true self, it just makes it harder to find it, harder to see amidst the fog that is melancholy.

"The paradox of Sith philosophy:
According to the Sith code, through power, you become free. But when you try to control life through passion, it eventually controls you. You give up your happiness and behavior,to something that always was and always will be outside your control.
Through the dark force, you can supposedly become immortal. Ironically, every Sith master eventually gets killed by their own padawan. It's a way of life which boasts about immortality but always ends in blood, pain, and death.
A Sith lord's goal is to bend the Force to their will, becoming all-powerful. But life as we know it never works that way. You can't become extremely powerful for too long, especially without help. Dark side users don't help each other. The ancient spirits of Sith lords are immensely secretive or even mock you when you ask for guidance from them, unlike Jedi who guide you as long as you need it, even helping you become a Force ghost.
A Sith lord is always lonely, knowing that even their padawan, the person closest to them, will one day try to kill them out of self-interest. That's why their reign will always be short-lived and will end up in death. Humans are not designed to prosper all by themselves.
Dark side users declare that peace is a lie. They tell you that all Jedi are corrupted or will be. And they are not wrong. Jedi are humans and humans get corrupted. But to say that a person is fully corrupt as a whole or not, is an absolute. And life doesn't work in absolutes. A person can be corrupted but still mean/do well. A person can understand their corruption at some point and try to fix it, redeeming themselves. Life is neither straight nor static. It's a curve, full of shades. The longer you live, the more chances you have to screw up/ unintentionally do harm etc.
It's not a true contradiction, it's human weakness, and it has nothing to do with the metaphysical world aka the Force ontologically speaking.
To have peace is to constantly try. It's hard and at times seems futile, and it's not the only way in life. But it is the only way to self actualisation, to reaching a point where after enduring battles with nature, internal ones, pain, having loved ones, achievements etc, you can finally say " I am complete with all my scars and tears" before becoming one with the Force. You can't self actualise through the power of the dark side, as it's a fire that will find you deep into the chains of your own passions and burn you.

"For the Jedi, life is a circle. All living beings are connected with equal distance from the centre point (Force). Everyone will eventually die; there can be no one superior or inferior. It's give and take, and everything you do, good or bad, comes around. There are no absolutes; life is full of color shades. You always have a choice as far as your attitude is concerned; there are no "corners" (impasse). Since it's a circle, one cannot not share; doing otherwise is like preventing the blood from circulating in a healthy way.
Their goal is to eventually become one with the force.
For the Sith, life is a pyramid. Not everyone can have the same worth. One can overpower others and rule as they please, becoming "free" according to the Sith code. Peace is a lie; it's made up. All people eventually become corrupted; it's all about passion and desire. You have to come out on top to not get destroyed by other people's passions." There is strong desire and thus, a quest for immortality, which allows for absolutes since the immortal is all powerful, has no limits and the material has on effect on them.
Their goal is to control the force and bend it to their own wills.

Obi wan's love for Anakin is so tragic.
Obi wan was always loyal to the jedi code. Principles came first, loyalty to people second. He was trained since infancy to be that way.
And he did that till his very end. Even tho he was never the same person after the events on Mustafar.
For he loved Anakin will all his heart. He knew deep down how attached Anakin could be and how dangerous that was. He knew he loved Anakin in ways a jedi shouldn't have. He knew how it killed him on the inside when he chopped off Anakin's body, being true to his cause.
He is one of the selfless people in the star wars universe. He put ideals such as democracy, justice, greater good, first, even if it meant him suffering a great deal in the process and eventually dying.

“I think," Obi-Wan said carefully, "that abstractions like peace don't mean much to him. He's loyal to people, not to principles. And he expects loyalty in return. He will stop at nothing to save me, for example, because he thinks I would do the same for him.”
Anakin has always been a STEM guy. He really did have a problem with abstract concepts. Always practical, always looking out for solutions, how to *fix it*.
But sometimes you cant fix it. Maybe you cant fix it now. Maybe you can't do it yourself. Maybe it doesn't need to be fixed because it wasn't broken in the first place. Or it might just be unfixable afterall.
Anakin, however, could never ever accept that. He couldn't just trust the universe of always finding its way. Patience, endurance, calmness, ideals that jedi/ stoics value, were foreign to him.
There were moments where you could tell, had he been a little patient, emotionally stronger, everything would have been so much different for the entire galaxy.

Question; wouldn't it be very interesting if Lucifer wasn't pure evil incarnate ( pointing at you,Palpatine) but a fallen angel who embraced dark like Anakin did? An angel who turned into a demon and could *potentially* get redeemed?
Like, why can't fallen angels in general be redeemed in the Bible? Why is religion so anthropocentric?
I would like to believe that fallen metaphysical entities can return to God, too.
Fallen angels are God's children as well. If no one can know the true essence of God except God himself, who says he is incapable of forgiving*anyone* for that matter?

Speaking from experience, whatever a narcissistic parent did to you, whether it was bad ( especially if you were the scapegoat) or good ( if you were the golden child ), it was never in your control. Their projections ( " you are this, you are that"), the opportunities they gave you, ( paying for your car or your degree etc ), NONE OF THESE WERE EVER YOURS.
It's all a lie, you never had anything they said you did.
You never forced them to do anything, you don't owe them anything. You are not to blame for being " a difficult person" or for being " too talented" they *had to* give you nice stuff.
Everything they did, they did it for themselves, they saw you as an extension of themselves.
For better of for worse you took it. The characterisation they gave you or the nice stuff. What's done is done. From now on, if you choose to take something from them whether it's an idea or a material, you have responsibility.

george lucas, remarkably unsubtley, over and over again: the fall of the republic was because of corporate interests interfering with politics and increased complacency with fascist ideas in the face of a manufactured war
everyone, for some reason: so the jedi were the REAL villains because they didn’t get married

The original is Palpatine, the Machiavellian politician he is, telling Cody that Obi wan sleeps around with everyone and that's how he gets people to fight with/for him, not giving a crap about the jedi code or cammaderie.
Thats how he plans on winning the war with the approval of the jedi xouncil.
Cody, appalled by Obi wans corruption and feeling used by him too, finally understood what Obi wan really meant when he was self proclaimed the negotiator.
So he went mad and blasted him.

I wonder, is it common for people with ADHD to hear from others that their train of thought is kinda slow ( not implying stupidity), but also kinda trippy, psychedelic like? Because that's what friends of mine have told me though the years. I have not been not diagnosed with ADHD ( money issues, environment etc ) but I've been told ever since I was a little child that I have symptoms.
Like, they can say something to me and I will take time to process/ decide etc. But if you talk to me about something that interests me/ I am familiar with, not only will I appear smart and fast thinking, I will also take the conversation to the next level, often making you think I am too analytical, talkative etc
At the same time, I draw, but mostly surreal, fantasy stuff. Is all that trippiness ADHD related?

“I don’t know. I don’t know. They just decided, I don’t know… maybe Temuera Morrison was busy on Boba Fett… It would have been obviously Temuera. Maybe they decided they didn’t need him either. I just felt Obi-Wan needed someone to talk to, someone who could tell him, you know, 'You’re in bad shape.'”

Imagine Cody telling Obi wan he needs to be careful, connect with the force, shower, eat, sleep in a tough love kind of way only to find out that Darth Vader is Anakin. He still tells him the same things everyday only that his tone is softer now.
Obi wan definitely needs someone to take care of him the way he takes care of everyone else. People who say " But Obi wan is strong, he doesn't need it" definitely ignore his self destructiveness. Dude aged so fast, and if he didn't care for Luke, he would have let himself die much quicker.
It's like Dean Winchester in Supernatural. He took care of everyone and made sure to stay alive despite the hardships. But emotionally? He was a mess, he didn't take care of himself the way Sam did by eating properly, choosing his way at times, communicating his pain and containing his anger ( Sam did have an idea of self preservation). And if Dean did not die on duty, he would definitely die sooner than Sam because of his lifestyle.
Till Cas came. Cas cared for Dean the way noone else did. He was his rock. Cas knew the love and responsibility Dean had for Sam and always respected that, even when Sam turned demonic. Cas seemed robotic, unable to understand references and human emotions. He was first and foremost a soldier who obeyed orders, then a soldier who fought for what*he* thought was right: people he loves, and the greater good. It was then bound to happen: Dean would die for someone else( on the job, saving the world from monsters ) and Cas would die for Dean.
Obi wan needed that. The person who protects everyone needs someone devoted to protect him. Obi wan was a father/mother/mentor/brother/ friend to Anakin the way Dean was with Sam. And he needed someone to be there for him and only him, a strong and loyal soldier who could keep him from collapsing under his own emotional weight.

“Yeah, yeah. Cody was the big one. I love the idea of Obi-Wan having a buddy on Tatooine. Like a secret buddy. So like the first time he goes into town, you see, Cody, and he’s following him through the streets and attacks him, takes him into an alley with a knife to his throat and says, ‘You’re dead.’ And then you realize, ‘Oh, no… Cody’s making a point.’ Like, ‘Come on. You got to be more careful.’”
"And you realize, ‘Oh, Cody has now morphed from someone who was trying to kill him when we last saw them to someone who is now devoting his life to protect him.’ Because by now he’s had the biochip taken out of his head, and now he realizes, ‘Oh my god, what I did was wrong.’ And he has driven by guilt, as much as Obi Wan is driven by guilt. So you got these two kind of old warriors bickering like this old married couple, bitching about, 'God, it was so much better when we had an army at our backs,' you know?’”
