Matoran Macku
Having made a scuffed lightbox for a different project, I figured it was time to share my matoran gang, starting with my favorite.
My parts choice for this model was to get as much color variety as possible in order to build the characters I wanted, AND, I absolutely wanted to use the mctoran foot for Mata-Nui authenticity.
From there I wanted to get as much poseability as I could, because I love posing figures.
I like juuust a hint of sexual dimorphism in my Bonks, so Macku and other Ga-Matoran I've built have a slightly longer axle and a set of spacers in their hips. The classic Gali chest piece was also used here but that steadily became a non exclusive trait as I built matoran in stranger colors and needed the socket pieces to fill out their schemes.
I consider this body configuration to be the post-bohrok rebuild, with a little Mask of Light mixed in.
I'll post some more later because I built a ton of these gremlins.

Not the most exciting page, but I found a way to make it fun for myself.
It's based on Takua's book of chronicles from MNOG. I wasn't sure what to really advertise, so I just used more space for the book.

The thing I like best about my submission this year is the concept I designed for the McToran. I imagined the arms a bit like if you put your arms in dryer vent tubes.
I wound up in a trap where I began the project using a more experimental style and brush and regretted having to use it to maintain consistency.
I generally like to draw my masks as 1:1 with the sets as possible, but several of them presented difficulty, and I have a better understanding of why so many people simplify them. I'll probably be doing the same in the future.
Overall, I'm very happy with it though.

I had a lot of fun with the goofy details in this one. Particularly the game pieces, props, and synopses.

Star Guy
Pre-MCU Star-Lord helmet, learning about shading, shining, etc.
This is based on the Star-Lord style from before the MCU movie, with the look first appearing when Peter serves in a war with the Phalanx machines, and later goes on to form the Guardians.
Actually a lot of subtle differences in how artists drew the helmet at the time, so I mashed up my favorites of the details.
@ on the drawing is to my basically defunct art twitter.

Toa Zaria lines and concept.
I imagined him carrying a massive shield and transforming it into weapons.
I believe it was Bioniclechicken that most notably gave Zaria a Calix, and that hits right for me.
Another example of overdetailed style, which I enjoy but I'm trying to phase out to focus on getting better at fundamentals and producing more content, since it consumes a lot of time and energy.

Brainbox mechanic
I was building up my roster of NPCs for an ill-fated mecha RPG campaign. My concept was that this was a person who had lost nearly all of their body in an accident, but in a wild lawless sector of space was only offered a robotic chassis as a replacement. Her name is lost to time along with most of my notes and thoughts on that game.
