Once an exchange student, always an exchange student
I was shopping with my mum and we met one of her friends with whom she hadn´t talked for ages so they had to discuss everything. I was really bored but I tried hard to stay “a nice young lady” while I was listening to them. After a while they stopped talking about the “oh, your child was that small when I last saw her” stuff and they started to show off their children´s achievements. My mother was triumphing: “So my daughter has been chosen as an exchange student for the next year!” Her friend was shocked and excited: “Oh my god. I am an exchange student, too! I mean… I was. But I still am.”

Pre-exchange friends
Today I was hanging around with three friends of mine. Telling your friends about you being an exchange student is hard, but those friends had already known it about me. As an exchange student, I was considered to be trustworthy so two of them told my they had been chosen as exchange students, too. But they didn´t know it about themselves. As we were having a great time, one of the pre-exchange student said:
”There´s something I wanna tell you. I´m gonna be an exchange student.”
The second pre-exchange student stayed absolutely calm and just looked at our last friend:
”Don´t you feel inappropriately here?”
He responsed:
”Nah, why?”
She started to laugh:
”Cause I´m gonna be an exchange student, too!”
