actually no but i’m like really upset? (in the good ‘this fucked with my emotions’ way, aka i’m still crying wtf)

like i wasn’t expecting to get this attached to anyone in the novella, and i knew that levana’s husband had to have died before cinder for her to be making a play for the commonwealth throne, but evret like…. gods i got so fucking attached to him???? i was thinking like ‘maybe he got away, maybe he disappeared, maybe he finally got free’ (except i knew he didn’t, because he would never in a million years have left without winter), and then i was thinking ‘maybe he died in the fire that ‘killed’ selene because he was trying to save her’ and i could even have handled that (although i would still have been upset) because he would’ve been away from levana, out from under her thumb, and he would have died trying to protect what was most precious to him

it would have been heroic and sad (because of winter being left to her stepmother’s cruelty) but i wouldn’t be this messed up over it.

but he didn’t. he didn’t get to die a few years after levana brainwashed him into submission. (she raped him, again and again, for ten entire years, and he got to a point where letting her and not questioning it any longer was the better part of protecting his daughter and i JUST) he was under her power for a decade and then…

and then levana got to have one last night with him, and he died thinking that he’d protected her. he died thinking she tried to save him. he died… he died in the arms of his abuser and he never once knew the truth and i. i really need. idk. a one-shot or something (i may write one after i read winter) of levana dying, and headed to a hell of her own making, meeting evret on whatever passes for purgatory there. i need the catharsis of evret finally getting closure. of him getting to tell levana exactly what she destroyed all those years ago. of letting her know that he saw everything. he saw how she treated his daughter. he saw that princess selene was alive and would come for her. he saw her try (and fail) to bend earth to her will.

i want him to be able to look her in the eye and say, once and for all, that she no longer has power over him. and that what she destroyed was worth so much more than power, only she could never see it.

and i want her to see him with solstice. whole and happy and watching over their daughter from afar, before whatever hell she made for herself swallows her whole.

let her wallow in her own terrible choices for the rest of eternity. it’s what she fucking deserves.

watching the new cinderella movie just makes me wish there were a lunar chronicles movie already so screen audiences can see an Actually Inventive cinderella retelling

I would want them to make some kind of effect to signify the idea of a glamour. Like in The Originals they use a weird shifty yellow effect that lets people know that the witches are using their magic. It would allow the audience the experience of seeing the glamour but also pointing out moments when manipulation isn’t used. Especially in the first book when everyone believes cinder manipulated Kai, this would allow the audience to understand when a glamour is being used

If anyone ever made a movie series or TV show for The Lunar Chronicles they need to avoid having Lunars in the camera properly pointed to them, like show the back of their hip looking onto whoever they're talking to, like for Levana never have the camera directly on her face unless she's wearing her veil and if you do point the camera to her face show what she actually looks like ndjdndn please
