I’m alive guys. I’ve been off tumblr (and most social media tbh) since I almost got laid off from work. Been going back to writing every now and then but it took some time to just be able to sit down, brainstorm, and actually write or draw again freely.

Just wanted to post this, as I’m feeling motivated again here in the BSD fandom.

I love your BSD fics! Particularly, ‘commit my death to memory’ and the mystery is killing me. Are you going to continue it? Would you be against sharing the plot behind it if not? Cause I really, really know what happened to Atsushi.

Sorry for the extremely late reply! I’m glad you enjoyed it!

The one I’m certain I will be continuing is to blaze a trail. To be honest, I have the draft plot for commit my death to memory planned out but there are some points I want to verify in canon first. That’s why I wanted to finish the ongoing arc with the Decay of Angels first.

If you want, I can share some insight about the plot through DMs. :D

Hello! I love your GinHiji fics so much! But I want to ask why the focus of your recent works is more on humor? I love the shenanigans but I guess I’m craving more romance too.

Ah, thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed them :D

I guess I write more about humor because these past few months with the pandemic situation really hit my life hard so it’s my way of cheering myself up. Gintama always had that power to brighten my day with just one episode and GinHiji shenanigans in canon always made me laugh out loud and love these idiots more.

Since I know a lot of us are going through hard times, I hope that my works at least gave other people a few laughs or at the very least, made them smile.

I’m not promising about more romance though, I guess. At least, not the conventional kind considering this is GinHiji we’re talking about.

Okay, so I’m gonna update this list with these three Kny fics that I’ve read (I’ve been reading up on other fandoms so there might be new upcoming fics I haven’t read, pardon):

“and the sun sets” by dangerouswoman - (a very different canon-divergence, this AU is where Nezuko didn’t wake up in time to save Tanjirou from Rui, and Giyuu takes her with him. That there is already sad but you’ve got to read it to see how deep this one is.)

“wisteria by any other name” by pitoumugis - (Someone was reborn as Kamado Hanako and survived with Nezuko as a demon too. The writing is beautiful, so far, canon-compliant but I’m waiting to see where it goes.)

“bloodlines” by realfakedoors (It’s a reverse AU where Shinobu was the one who found them Nezuko became one of her students, learning the Breath of Flower with Kanao. The details were done well and the flow is really great. Definitely must-read)

Kny Ao3 Fic Recommendations

These are my current fic recommendations and my thoughts on them. Finally posted for all those who’s asking. Will be updating this as soon as I read new fics I think are worth reading. These are mostly GEN fics. Also, please take note that it’s just my opinion so we could have different preferences. Another note is that most of these fics contain spoilers from the manga.

Role-Reversal AU

“Warm as the Sun (Deadly as the Sea)” by JayD - (this is a really heartwarming role-reversal AU. This is actually my favorite of all, I really recommend this. The emotions in this fic is absolutely moving, the way the author writes is very beautiful.)

“The Little Bunny from the Little Mountain” by Sylphib - (This is role-reversal AU with a twist, I love it so far. There are a lot of things that were different from the start but the author handled it pretty well, imo.)

“the door will still be open for you” by jojotier - (another role-reversal AU, of a sort and I absolutely love this! This isn’t a canon divergence but something that happened midway canon, it’s a very interesting take)

“Oleander” by Crownonymous- (the author has an interesting take on this tag as well, but it’s still one chapter so we’ll have to see first where this is going)

“The Color of the World” by Novirp13 - (for those of you who love canon but with roles reversed, this is it. While this story follows canon closely, I still love how the characters were presented. It’s like a rewatch of the show as Nezuko as the protag)

“Shoshin” by Enso2227 (this was the first Role-Reversal AU I actually read in Ao3, and it has a really good premise since Tanjirou retained his human memories and reasoning. And unlike others of this particular tag, Tanjirou remains as the protag of his own story)

Other fics:

“sunfire, sunborn” by mochibun - (Fem!Tanjirou. The author handled this one very well and so beautifully written! The prose is very engaging and Tanjirou remained true to herself, but still obviously female.)

“sun in our hearts, water in your veins” by p3paula - (ok, this is a must read. Giyuu arrives early to save the Kamado family and becomes a demon himself. A powerful fic, imo, and amazingly written.)

“Enough” by littleladybug - (Sanemi-centric, an emotionally moving glimpse into Shinazugawa Sanemi’s thoughts throughout the series with a touch of GenTan. But this one made me cry, so.)

“To the Starting Point” by TsukiMirai - (a reincarnated Yoriichi AU!! We don’t get a lot of this. Tho it’s short, that glimpse into his thoughts was true to his character.)

“metanoia” by aizunobu - (Akaza time-travel AU. It was very intriguing, getting into Akaza’s thoughts and how he came to the decisions he made.)

“Coal Burner’s Frugality” by Kisaeng - (a Tanjirou-driven fic about how other characters care for him. It was so heartwarming. This is a rec for those who are suffering from the manga)

“Sparks” by littleladybug - (Senjurou-centric, another beautifully written fic by the same author of Enough. I love this one as this gives us a glimpse of Senjurou and his mindset up to the point his brother died and after it. What I love about this is the Obanai content, absolutely love this one.)

And they try to recruit Tanjirou into joining as well.

Maybe you should just focus on writing one-shots or short fics. Because drawn out fics obviously isn’t your forte. The quality just goes down, I’m sorry. I like your works and it just pains me to see it go that way.

I was undecided if I was going to answer at first but then I thought, I had to know.

So far, my on-going active long projects that qualify as drawn-out fics are:

“to blaze a trail” for BSD fandom &

“yet he feels like sunlight” for KNY fandom

Recently, I updated TBAT, so I guess this is what you’re pertaining to? Or you have some doubts regarding YHFLS? I’m confused. Please be specific so I can clarify whatever it is you have a concern with?

Also, I guess my plot can become choppy sometimes but I have to stick to my draft, I may change things along the way but only if I saw things that will be relevant. So please heed my ‘Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence’ tag because that means the plot is either going to change drastically or another world is being built into canon.

I’m not even mad but I’m sad that my works felt that way to you. But I’ll just continue to write the way I want to, as I always had. So I guess thanks for the heads up?
