Writing Share Game
Whoop whoop! Thank you @ink-enchanted for tagging me HERE.
Rules: Share some writing!
Sharing some writing from Masterpiece since that is what I'm working on currently.
A map laid between the two of them on the wooden counter. The pale pink was a stark contrast against the disgusting yellows and blues, the off-reds of roads and rivers, and the old blues of places far off. Lines were dabbled in faded gray, circled areas of places come and gone, starred areas of places to go, all crossed out. All that was left was a single heart sketched for a final destination. Home.

Mahogany
Wood crumbled beneath my fingers, fever-hot. Time stood still, its breath fire in my lungs, batting furiously for air.
Birds were frozen in midair, wings aflutter like the streaks of nosebleed red in the golden sky. I dug my toes into the soft earth, power thrumming in my veins. The ground rumbled with my every heartbeat, shaking the frozen world.
The man with the gun spat bullets and saliva alike. They hung in the air, drifting with infinite slowness. When I let go, they would pierce hearts and stain the birds crimson. I did not want that.
So I moved. A step. The pressure doubled, my chest screaming, scrabbling for oxygen. Another step. I was trapped beneath the water, unable to inhale. The man was just out of reach, his minefield of steel and slobber separating us.
A third step. Would I die here? I felt my life leak down my nose, tasted the bullets that slipped between my cracked lips. Blood dripped on the floor, from my ears, crimson tears blurring my vision.
One step. I was almost there. The elastic band around my chest might as well have been a noose. With agonising slowness, I plucked the shells out of the air. The only blood to be spilt today was mine. I trembled, shook like a helicopter with a vital screw loose. I was going to lose it. I was not strong enough. I would gasp for breath, and the shooter would riddle me with his spittle. Floaters swam in my vision, my fingers clawing the surface until my nails came apart.
One. More. Step. I shoved his gun aside with frantic hands, eye vessels popping, streaming blood from every orifice. I met the shooter's frantic eyes, like a man on the verge of drowning. I pushed him onto the ground, and held him right.
Then I inhaled.
Time rushed into the vacuum with a pop, like the air that suddenly filled me. Sweet, sweet air, so full of life. Air like horrified screams of bystanders, like the blossoms of my blood that bloomed on the ground, the untainted mahogany wood beneath the birds soaring into the setting sun.

This prompt fits all my characters so well, hahaha, almost like I keep writing the same tropes over and over again :/
Luna:
"Oh, me? I'm the monster here? When you- You bloody, accursed bastards thought it was fair to hunt down a kid and rip her soul right out of her chest? Do you know what it's like to grow up knowing that your whole country considers you an irredeemable monster?! Do you know what it's like to cry yourself to sleep with nobody to hug you but your thralls?! Do you- Wait, let me answer that. No, you don't. You just decided that the chance of me turning on you was worth killing an eleven year old over.
"But I'm here now, I'm not eleven anymore, and you're going to pay."
2. Ina:
"First, they took my freedom. I could have lived in chains in any case. Then they took my sisters. I could have plodded on in my grief still. But they took my husband, the light of my life, and for what greater sin than loving me? They cast my daughter into the abyss and named her 'demon', they sentenced my people to eternal servitude. And when I took up arms against them, they called me their Bane, the Godhuntress, callous and cold. A monster in name and soul.
"They were right. But they will not live to enjoy that rightness."
3. Hans-el:
"Who, little old Hans here? Why, I'm honoured that you noticed! Was it the mounds of corpses that gave it away? The intricately woven tapestry of skin and intestine? Or was it the goblet of blood made of a skull? Please, as if you don't have your own rivers of blood. As if you didn't find it amusing to torment a weak, small, male child who would never amass the power to get vengeance. As if you never ripped my piercings whole from my ears and smeared mud on my face. Hah! You ought to be in a Kvi'ora routine, with how you make me laugh. You can join it right after I have your limbs cut off."

Self-Intro!!
Hey, I've been posting stuff for a while but haven't actually bothered to introduce myself, so here goes:
I'm Leah, she/her
I write mostly fantasy, and I try (and fail) to write anything else
Quite possibly the world's biggest fan of CJ Cherryh (who's so underrated, please check out her Chanur Saga for sci-fi or Fortress in the Eye of Time for fantasy!!)
I dabble in animation, mostly blender simulations, especially nodes (so please please please, talk to me about your ideas)
Currently working on a novel (about 15k words in, distracted by my 20+ side projects)
If you enjoy descriptive writing, boy will you like the stuff I do :)
I'd love feedback of any kind, especially criticism! I always want to improve :)
