The last two weeks I’ve been the most burnt out from work that I’ve ever been in my life. Being a therapist who works in mental health with teens and families isn’t easy and due to the complex, under funded, and broken system we work within, it makes it even more difficult. I’ve been so mentally exhausted that I’ve spent a majority of time in bed and worked my hardest to avoid people. I’ve eaten terribly and didn’t have the energy to work out. However, it’s good to finally start bouncing back out of my funk. It took a lot of private conversations and crying in front of a few close colleagues to get my head back into the game, and now I finally feel like I’m regaining my strength and my energy.

I’ve decided to sign up for an online fitness program in my community! The results coming from the meal/fitness plan are absolutely amazing so I figured I’d give it a try. I realize that I need a lot more help with my eating. I’m really interested in learning more about macros, gaining new healthy recipes, and switching up my exercise routine! I’m really excited and a bit nervous. I’m not feeling super motivated but hopefully I’ll find that motivation again. I think my partner may do it to which may make this easier to do. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏼

Hi all! After 3.5 weeks of feeling really sick (mix of cold + flu😷), I’m finally starting to feel better! I still have a tiny cough and my energy isn’t back to its peak yet, but I’m slowly getting there. Today is the first time exercising in a while. It’s amazing how much progress you can lose by taking some time off to help your body feel better. Either way, it’s great to be back exercising and I can’t wait to start feeling even better! Woohoo!

Made a burrito bowl tonight! Corn, black beans, avocado, lettuce, tomato, ground beef, salsa, brown rice, taco shell on the bottom and some cheese on top! So beyond filling. I could only eat half of this!

Gained some weight on this trip. Yikes 🙈. Still sick from two weeks ago but feeling much better. Starting tomorrow, it’s time to jump back on to the healthy train again. I think I’m going to create a simple healthy recipe book so I can have it handy when I need to make something quick. I also plan to start working on drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day and not eating past 8 at night. We’ll see if that makes a change!
