It's so hard to focus today. I know it's a scorpio full moon BUT I feel like my being tired of school combined with my new friendship is not helping. V. distracting but also V. worth it so far...

I have to finish my major paper for my Romantic Lit class. I'm doing my paper on Jane Austen's best and worst books (imo lol). I have about a week to do it but still, getting SOMETHING done today would be better. All we can do is try at this point.

In 2021, Daisy Hayes returns to her former place of employment, The Lazy Moon Cafe, to reunite with her old friend and coworker, Cody Luminaria. Cody is a tarot reader who is emotionally tied up in an old romance which haunts him. Daisy becomes a sympathetic listening ear to Cody retell his own Fool's Journey; his first love story with a closeted bisexual cheerleader, Suzie Fontaine, while realizing he is a trans boy. Cody's story takes place in both the late 2000's as a teenager and in the early 2020's as a young man who reflects upon his past. Will Cody and Suzie be able to recover from their Tower's collapse?

Concept: We need to stop neglecting the good things in our lives. Brush off bad things as quickly as we tend to brush off good things. Believe that compliment and remember it. Notice how pretty the moon is. Think about the cute dog you saw. Think of a funny thing your friend said. Overthink it like you’d overthink a bad thing. Don’t let little things ruin your day; let little things make you really happy. You deserve good things and happiness… so let yourself be happy.

Okay so I don't have any posts to reblog for Like The Moon Loves the Sun, because I didn't document it on here like I did for some of my other NaNoWriMos (2019 and 2022 are both documented on here, for example). Weird because I feel like 2021 would have done okay on here as well. I might post some of the clips up here after all.

Update for April 2024

I've been away for a while. I'm still in grad school and working two jobs now. I'm very close to finishing grad school (I'm one class away from my final right now). I'm so tired of school but need to hang on just a bit longer so I can finally graduate (!!!) which will be in August of this year, hopefully.

I post pretty regularly on my tiktok. I'm posting one of my novel projects on there as an audiobook split up into tiktoks. It's @vblavender on tiktok, if anyone is interested in the story. It's a 2000's high school romance between a bi girl and a trans boy. It was my NaNoWriMo back in 2021 (and I actually finished that one). It's called Like the Moon Loves the Sun and it's based on a deck of tarot cards. I tried posting it on youtube but got like no views so I've been putting up on tiktok where it's been doing a little bit better.

Whatever time I have left over, I've been spending with my dogs or playing Stardew Valley. Abigail is my girlfriend in the game. I'm not sure if this was predictable or not but I liked her the most so I picked her to romance in my first playthrough.

I hope everyone is doing good. Sorry for going MIA, it will probably happen again. :P Hope this spring and Aires season finds everyone well. <3
