Candlelight flickered along the table. Hero’s finger traced against the woodgrain, patterns beneath their skin. From their side they heard a soft chuckle. A calloused hand covered their own, thumb brushing lightly over the back of their palm.
“Bored, dear?” Villain leaned close, brushing a kiss against the shell of Hero’s ear. They shied away from the touch, eyes trained on the table. A knot here, a splinter there. Hero’s nail caught on a crack in the wood.
“It just doesn’t feel right,” they said. Villain’s hand lifted from their own, coming together to clasp in the criminal’s lap.
They raised a brow, “What doesn’t feel right?”
“Us.”
Beside them, Hero felt the Villain tense. Their coat slipped from where they had draped it over their shoulders, tumbling onto the back of the chair.
“And why is that darling?” There was a shake to the Villain's voice.
Hero bit the inside of their cheek, “I don’t think you should call me that.”
“Darling?”
A pang resonated through the Hero’s core. They grit their teeth, shutting their eyes as their fingernail snagged on another crack. “It’s not right. We’re not right.”
“Who told you that?” Villain’s tone had gone cold. Their eyes pierced through the Hero, searing with a million questions. Hero was still, though their hands had drifted to their pockets. Inside they gripped the fabric, balling it tight into their fists.
They sighed, “People are watching.”
“So what?”
“They’ll see you, and then they’ll see me. They’ll think things. Horrible, horrible things.” Hero’s gaze dropped, hair covering their eyes. Their voice wobbled and they gripped the inside of their pockets tightly.
Hero felt the sudden presence of a hand on their cheek. Gently, it tilted their gaze upward until they faced Villain’s deep eyes. They creased, matching the soft smile that had formed on Villain’s face. “Then let them.” Villain said, leaning forward to press a tender kiss to Hero’s lips. “Let them think.” Another. “Let them talk.” Another. “Let them continue on, because at the end of the day,” Villain lingered there for a moment, their thumb tracing along Hero’s cheek, “at the end of the day I still have you, and I could never want anything more.”

Hero grit their teeth, “Why can’t you get this in your head? This was never going to work, why, why do you keep trying?”
“Because I loved you!” Villain screamed, arms clutched tight to their chest, “I loved you- they wiped the tears from their face, eyes red and cheeks flushed, “and you loved me back.”
They took a step forward and their knees buckled. Villain hit the concrete hard, doubling over as the rain soaked into their coat, streaming down their hair, mixing with their tears. A cough wracked their body and they shivered against the cold. “and I can’t just throw that away. I can’t- I can’t lose you too.”
Lightning cracked across the sky, a streak of brilliant light that illuminated the shine to Villain’s eyes. Hero kept their hands in their pockets, balled tight into fists though no one could see. They longed to drag their nails across their skin, anything to distract from the sharp pain they felt inside. They couldn’t take it. They couldn’t take it anymore.
“Please,” Villain wept. It was the first time Hero had ever seen them cry.
They steeled themself, body rigid as their boots remained glued to the pavement. Voice level, Hero lowered their gaze to meet the Villain’s eyes, “I never said I didn’t love you.”
“Then why?”
“Because I’m like you,” Hero blinked back their own tears. A headache blossomed across their temples and they held their fists tighter, nails slicing into their palm, “and this is the only way that I can make sure they won’t hurt the one I love.”
Hero turned on their heel and tried to ignore Villain’s cries as they sunk farther into the shadows.

“You’re awfully far from home darling,” Hero halted in their tracks beneath the streetlights, “Are you lost?”
They spun on their heel, fists already poised for the attack but a knife to their throat stopped their very breath. Villain’s lips tugged into a grin. “Found you~” they hummed, breath hot against the Hero’s ear. The sidewalk was silent, shutters closed, doors locked. Not a living soul traversed the street. All except Hero, who as they opened their mouth to speak, winced from the blade’s pressure. A scarlet bead welled where the tip had nicked their skin.
“Careful now. Don’t try anything funny, I’ve been looking for you for so long that I’d just hate for us to be separated again.” Their free hand drifted to Hero’s pocket and retrieved a similar blade. Hero’s only weapon. Their fingers twitched in protest, scraping lightly at the Villain’s skin but they froze as the knife pressed deeper. “Very good. Fast learner I see.”
Hero’s jaw clenched. They pressed their fingers tightly into their palms, balling their hands into fists if only to keep from making a move they’d regret. Sweat trickled down their temple, cool against their skin. “Please,” they croaked. “I-”
“Let’s go on a little walk together, shall we?” Villain took them by the hand, though the knife did not lower. Their footsteps echoed along the concrete one after the other. Stiff with Hero’s own panic. “After all, we’ve got so much to catch up on…”

“Fetch that wrench for me would you?” Villain reached behind them expectantly, fingers twitching with impatience. Their free hand latched onto their newest creation, a metallic sort of thing that looked straight out of a science fiction novel. Upon no response, Villain resisted the urge to sigh.
They could already sense the smile behind them, a cocky sort of thing that always graced the Hero’s features. Close as they had grown over the years, Hero still liked to mess with them. It was a small hindrance, and every so often Villain gave into Hero’s little games.
Villain allowed themself to chuckle at the resounding silence behind them. They grasped the open air, “Alright that’s enough. I get it, you’re hilarious.” The gadget beside them gave a little jolt, impatient from the lack of security.
“Hero I’m serious that’s enough-” suppressed frustration emerged within Villain’s core and they whirled around ready to have a serious conversation over the importance of a reliable lab partner. Only no one was there.
No one had ever been. No one ever would be again.

Short Prompt #20
Beneath the Hero, no one moved. Eyes, wide and empty, stared back. Skin Pale. Chests still. Hero didn’t know how they had been able to stop screaming.
With shaking hands they crouched down and took the palm of a young woman. She couldn’t have been older than thirty. A whole future ahead of her, and Hero had destroyed it. They had destroyed them all.
Their fingers crept into their hair and Hero pulled harshly. They yanked at the strands while hot tears gathered in their eyes. They sniffled, and sobs developed into a fit of coughing. Hero doubled over and screamed, a deep guttural cry that shook the walls. Red filled their vision as they buried their head in their hands. Deep metallic red. Everywhere. Everywhere. They couldn’t get away.
“What am I?” Hero wept, dragging their nails down their face.
The voice that answered was cool, commanding. Hero knew it all too well. Villain’s presence loomed behind them and a hand settled on their shoulder. “Chaos,” they replied, “the most beautiful kind.”

Hey all!
I just wanted to offer some insight if you’ve noticed my posting consistency has gone down a bit. In all honestly, school has started back up and the work is already destroying me at this point to where I have barely if not been able to write at all. It’s really tough to deal with now mentally, but I’m working through it. To those who have left asks, I am so sorry, it may be a while, I try to really get good writing into each one and with my current time frame it’s been increasingly difficult, though I promise once my workload evens out I’ll work to get through all of those (truly sorry if you’ve been waiting a while already) As for regular posting, I’ll try to keep up twice a week until everything calms down a bit (this may falter a bit but I will try my best). Thank you all for your understanding and I hope you have excellent days :)

Short Prompt #19
“Stop!” Hero screamed. They crawled forward, clawing at the ground, fingers brushing but an inch from sidekick’s form. The iron chain around their ankle held them back. Sharp pains cut through their ankle with every breath. “They don’t deserve this!”
The wires attached to sidekick’s form gave another jolt and beneath it Sidekick convulsed. Their eyes had slipped shut long ago, leaving only their shallow breath as reassurance.
Villain narrowed their eyes with another flick of the switch, “Those words mean nothing anymore. Do you think I deserved to be forced into this path? Beaten until this was all I had left?”
Light flickered from the wires and branched out in sparks. The clouded scent of smoke filled the air and this time Sidekick cried out. It was a choked sound, barely human. “Life has its consequences,” Villain spat, “This is yours.”

Short Prompt #18
“I always liked it when you smiled,” Villain tipped their head to the side, hand outstretched towards the Hero. They couldn’t shrug away, not with their hands bound tightly behind their back. Villain easily trapped their chin between their thumb and forefinger and drew the Hero closer. “I’d always search the newspapers you know, for a glimpse of you and that smile. Eyes bright, freckles speckled across your cheeks, but god- nothing could compare to your lips.”
Hero tensed. A shock of fear passed through their mind as they met their enemy’s eyes. “What?” They said, their voice carrying much smaller than they had wanted.
“Your lips, just like that old fairy tale. What was it? Hair black as coal, skin pale as snow, and lips-” Villain’s eyes brightened, “lips red as blood.”
From their side they drew a blade, “So beautiful, so vibrant,” they hummed, growing dangerously closer, “Smile for me now dear, let me see that pretty color.”
Panic flooded the Hero’s veins and they jerked back from the blade that only grew closer. They thrashed against their bindings. Just above their skin. A flash of silver shone and in it Hero could see their own terror.
“All of you, I want all of you to be beautiful,” Villain drew the knife along Hero’s skin and grinned at the pained gasp that fell from their lips. Scarlet beads dripped in the blade’s wake and Villain smiled.
“Keep smiling,” they hummed, “I love this color on you.”

Short Prompt #17
“Wait-” One word left the Hero frozen in their tracks. Behind them they heard the soft shifting of fabric and a choked whisper. “Don’t leave me, please.”
They turned. Against every warning, every regulation, they faced the Villain. The sight before them nearly knocked the breath from their lungs. Bleeding, frightened, half-conscious. Their enemy no longer appeared as the Villain Hero had come to know so well.
Villain coughed, a gut-wrenching wheeze that splattered red upon the concrete. Again they looked up with a gaze so pitiful that Hero felt their heart wrench. “Help-”
For the first time, Hero rushed to the Villain’s side without hesitation.

You think you could write a prompt about a tall scary villain who is actually a big softie towards their sunshine hero. Maybe a hurt/comfort scenario with a bit of fluff? I also really adore your writing, keep it up!
Villain hadn’t expected their phone to ring in the middle of the night, and they especially hadn’t expected Hero to emerge on the other side of the line. They picked up lazily, lips turned down on instinct, “What is it?”
No answer. That was odd.
A sigh escaped Villain’s lips and they tried to hide the concern in their voice, “Anyone there?” The words were laced with a fake annoyance. It was all Villain could do to keep from slipping into worry. Quiet, so soft it was near silent, a choked sob emerged on the other side of the line.
In an instant they were on their feet, phone pressed close to their ear as they muttered a small, “Hello?”
On the other side Villain thought they heard tears. They tensed, turning to demand that Henchman shut up so they could catch what Hero was saying. Villain could hardly make it out, a choked whisper on the other side, but the moment it clicked Villain had dropped the phone and ran.
“I need help- please.”
When they arrived the room was in shambles. Chairs overturned and clothes cast on the floor. Villain’s stomach dropped and dread flowed through their veins. “Hero?” They called, voice laced with worry, “Hero, where are you?”
Then they saw it.
A shape in the darkness, curled up tight and trembling. Villain rushed forward. As they grew closer they managed to flick on a light and truly took in the sight of their dear Hero. They were almost unrecognizable.
Hero was sobbing, tears flowing thickly down their cheeks as they struggled to breathe. Their hair was caked with dust, tangled while several tears left their uniform mangled. Villain’s first thought was to search for wounds, eyes trailing over Hero’s shaking form in a panic- but there were none. Hero was unscathed, and yet they still trembled.
“Hero-” the words made their nemesis flinch as if they had only then noticed Villain’s presence. They glanced up with red rimmed eyes and another choked sob escaped their lips.
“I’m sorry.”
Confused, Villain raised a brow. They reached out but Hero only recoiled, “Hero, what-”
“I didn’t mean to- I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I swear!” Hero buried their head in their arms, pulling their knees closer to their chest. They held themself as if they may fall apart with the slightest touch. “I didn’t mean to.”
Hero looked so small this way, smaller than normal. Villain hated the absence of the bright smile that usually graced Hero’s features. The laugh that made everything seem okay. Whatever had happened- Hero never deserved to have that smile taken away.
Slowly, Villain tried again to reach for their partner. This time Hero didn’t pull away, though they still winced from the touch. Villain would never admit how such things sent a pained jolt through their heart. “Darling, I need you to breathe for me, can you do that?” They looked at the Hero even when the other wouldn’t fully meet their gaze. Slowly, Hero nodded.
They followed along as Villain tapped a gentle pattern upon their back. In, and out. One breath at a time Villain continued to trace their breaths upon Hero’s back. Their tall form enveloped the smaller’s, warm in their embrace. They could feel Hero’s heartbeat against their chest and released a breath of their own when it slowed to a regular pace.
“I’m sorry,” Hero muttered into Villain’s shoulder. “Too close, they got too close and I-” They sucked in a breath. “I hurt someone.”
Amidst the de-escalation of their panic their arms had slipped around the Villain’s waist and their head remained buried in the Villain’s shirt. They looked up now, regret shining in their features. “Your shirt-” Hero picked at the material, soaked through with tears, “I ruined it.”
They sat up and tried to wipe the soot and tears from the fabric. All too quickly Villain could feel the Hero’s heart begin to race again. They took in their lover’s distraught expression and wished to smooth the wrinkles beneath their brow, the downward quirk of their lips. Villain couldn’t stand to see Hero suffer this way. They reached out and gently grabbed the Hero’s wrists, enough to startle the crimefighter. “It’s alright,” Villain said, barely a whisper, “You haven't ruined anything.”
“But your clothes, I-”
“Nothing a trip to the washing machine can’t handle.” Villain smiled softly, “I think the same may go for your uniform too darling. Would it feel better to get all that dust off, and then if you want, you can tell me what happened?”
Hero looked at the Villain and their hands slipped from Villain’s shirt before they nodded.
“Alright then.” Villain stood and did their best to ignore the look of pain that crossed the Hero’s face in their absence. Hero had always been one for physical touch, hugs from behind when Villain least expected it, a peck on the cheek on Villain’s hardest nights. Hero always managed to wipe away the hardened intimidation that Villain put up. Only for them. Only Hero got to see what was truly inside. Villain was quick to grab what they needed in hopes of not leaving Hero alone for too long.
They returned with a garment in hand. Villain had shed the hoodie upon entering the room, no longer in need of an inconspicuous disguise. Now they held the thick fabric in their hands and with a smile, offered it to the Hero.
“Why don’t you go and get that stiff uniform off, and I’ll get a washcloth for your skin. Sound good love?”
Hero was silent for a moment. They stared at the hoodie in Villain’s outstretched arms. The words that came out next were quiet, almost as if embarrassed. “I don’t want to be alone.”
“You want me to stay with you?”
A nod.
“Alright, I’ll stay right here,” Villain offered a gentle smile and placed the hoodie into Hero’s arms. Upon the nervous glance from their partner, Villain turned to face the wall. “I won’t look,” they promised. A moment later they heard the shifting of fabric and soon there was a tap at their shoulder. Villain turned back around and nearly melted at the sight before them.
The fabric of the hoodie swallowed Hero’s form, pooling below their knees and hanging off their wrists. They looked so small, so much so that Villain hoped the garment wouldn’t overwhelm the crimefighter, though their worries vanished when Hero pulled the fabric close and smiled.
“It’s so soft,” they hugged the hoodie close to their form and for a second, Villain caught the flicker of sunshine they were so used to seeing with the Hero. “Thank you.”
At that moment Villain was rendered speechless. They couldn’t help the smile that graced their own lips, so overwhelmingly filled with endearment and love. God, they wanted to frame Hero’s bright eyes and shining smile, make it last forever. “It looks good on you,” was all they could manage to say.
They both were silent, trapped in each other’s eyes. Hero was the first to break their stupor. Drawing the long sleeves up over their forearms, their gaze fell back to the linen closet. “I think- can we go get a washcloth? This is better but I- I can still feel the dirt…”
“Oh, yeah of course,” Villain nodded. They resisted the urge to rush and grab it for Hero, instead remembering their previous request and opting to stay close by the Hero’s side. They walked together to the linen closet, where being the taller of the two, Villain retrieved a washcloth from the uppermost shelf. They moved to wet it under warm water, then offered it towards the Hero. “Here, this should help.”
When Hero stood frozen, an awkward silence settled between the two. It took a beat for Villain to catch the hint of longing in Hero’s eyes. Something they wanted to say, but could not find the words for. Villain didn’t hesitate any further.
With slow movements, they brought the washcloth to Hero’s cheek and began to brush the soot from their skin. They had made sure the cloth wasn’t overly hot, and even so checked to make sure the Hero was still comfortable. Soon the dirt had gone, replaced with the fine blush that never seemed to leave Hero’s cheeks. Bright, and pink like peonies. Newly cleaned, it seemed as if a weight had been lifted from the Hero’s shoulders. Without warning, they lunged forward and enveloped the Villain in their arms.
“Thank you,” they whispered, squeezing tighter, and then- “I love you, I love you so much.”
It was enough to make Villain’s heart skip a beat. They had always been a mess around the Hero, unraveling with the slightest smile. Hero was the only capable of doing such things, of dissolving the cold resolve the rest of the world knew so well. Now, something new cracked in the Villain to reveal something pure and undying. Love, in its deepest form.
Villain cradled Hero’s head to their chest and carded a hand through their hair. They were like this for a long while before Hero’s breathing slowed, so much that Villain thought they had fallen asleep, only to be caught off guard by Hero’s gentle whisper.
“Will you stay with me tonight?” They asked. “What happened- I really didn’t-”
“Shh,” Villain held them closer, “You can tell me about it tomorrow, right now you need to sleep. And yes- I’ll stay with you. I’ll stay however long you need, forever if you ask me to.”
“Forever?”
“Forever and always my dear.” Villain felt the squeeze of a palm around their own, shielded by the thick fabric of the hoodie. By the time they had looked down to identify it as the Hero’s, their partner had already drifted off to sleep. Finally at peace, Villain was quick to follow. They would deal with the challenges that arrived in the morning, but for now all they needed was each other.

Short Prompt #16
Villain was trapped in a tempest of whirling debris. Their mind raced, dust clouding their vision and stinging like the hot tears that flowed down their cheeks. Arms pinned tight to their sides and fists clenched. So loud, everything was wailing, thundering. Villain wanted to scream.
The ground cracked beneath them. They felt themself falling, and yet they hadn’t moved. Still, the sky clouded and cast darkened shadows over Villain’s form. Something tugged at their pant leg. Villain looked down, and the world went still.
Hero. Dark rims around their eyes and blood leaking from open wounds. They were crying, and yet they still smiled. Villain froze as Hero took them in with that gaze. Their mouth opened. Hero reached up and the words cut through the chaos.
“It’s up to you now,” they said.
And that was the last time they spoke.

Short Prompt #15
Hero doubled over. They bit down on their tongue, hard. It was hopeless though, the pain still showed in the crease of their brow, the shine of their eyes, the pale color of their skin. They flinched at the finger that trailed down their cheek, drawing them up to meet an eager expression.
“Now tell me,” Villain smiled at them, pen poised in one hand while the other took in every ounce of discomfort that crossed the Hero’s face, “How do you feel.”
Through shaking breaths, Hero sank against their binds. “It hurts-” they rasped.
“Good,” Villain chirped, jotting down a few words on their clipboard, “That means it’s working.” They strolled to the dial, and with a grin, turned it to its highest.

Heyo! I saw your requests were open, and I was wondering if I could ask for a Hero that gets kidnapped by a yandere Supervillain? Maybe they drug hero up while they brush their hair or something else domestic.
Loved this idea, thanks for requesting! :)
Blurry. Hero blinked and tried to erase the fuzzy feeling from their mind. They ached. Their skin prickled all along their body while a distant pain throbbed in the back of their head. Hero moved to reach for the feeling only to find their wrists had been bound to the chair they sat in.
A sense of panic overwhelmed them. Hero pulled once against the ropes, a rough sting already emanating from where it had rubbed against their skin. They didn’t remember falling asleep, nor closing their eyes. They didn’t remember anything besides the sidewalk. It had been late, the hero had just finished their patrol. They had been walking home. They were just outside the turn to their street.
Hero had never made it around the corner.
“You’re awake!” The voice made Hero tense. Sickeningly sweet, it set the Hero’s teeth on edge. Their bindings wouldn’t allow them to turn and identify the voice. A hand in their hair made them go still.
“You worried me you know,” Long nails ran through Hero’s locks, “I thought I had hit you too hard, that I had ruined you and your beauty. I’m happy to see you still look as pretty as before,” there was a shuffling to their side, “this way though, you might look even prettier.”
From behind Hero the figure emerged and flicked on the light beside them. Hero winced as brightness flooded their senses and left their head pounding. Still fuzzy, all they could focus on was the dull ache in the back of their skull.
They were torn from their attempt to regain awareness by the hand that slid under their chin. A thumb stroked along their cheek and Hero flinched, gaze flickering up for a moment to catch sight of their captor.
“I can’t tell you how much I’ve dreamed of this moment, of you, so close to me,” Villain smiled down at the Hero, “I knew once I had you, I’d be the luckiest person in the world.”
Hero tried to shrug away from the touch, but Villain’s grip only tightened. They grimaced at the feeling of sharp nails against their skin. Something hot began to flow down their cheek, thick and carrying the scent of iron. Hero again pulled at the ropes.
With everything Hero wished to turn away and rip themselves from the Villain’s hold. The cool fingers felt wrong on their face and Villain’s bright smile unnerved them in ways they couldn’t explain. They tried to fight it. To jerk away, break free, anything, but they were too weak. With their mind still hazy, the most Hero could manage was a slight twitch of their lips, a muffled groan, the smallest shake of their head.
Hopelessness overtook Hero. They felt their eyes well and tears began to trickle down their face. A gentle thumb brushed them away. “Shh,” Villain hummed, leaning close to press a kiss to the Hero’s forehead, “Don’t cry starlight, I’ll take good care of you. Let me show you how much I love you.” They brushed the bangs from Hero’s forehead, taking the strands into their fingers. Hero couldn’t help the choked sob that escaped their lips. They were stiff as Villain began to comb through the tangled strands.
Gentle fingers brushed through the locks plastered to Hero’s forehead. Villain was careful to unravel every knot, pressing a kiss to Hero’s temples with each snag they hit.
Once they had worked all the tangles from their hair, Villain gathered the strands and broke them into sections. Twisting one over the other, they formed an array of plaits that laid like a crown around Hero’s forehead. From their pocket Villain retrieved a delicate clip. It was silver, adorned with gems that glittered in the light. They slid it into Hero’s hair and secured it. Careful not to pull, they guided a few stray strands in the front to frame Hero’s face then backed away to gaze upon their masterpiece.
“Beautiful,” The Villain said, returning to press a kiss to Hero’s cheek, “And all mine.” They smiled with their head cocked to the side as if considering. Then, they turned to the Hero and regarded them with those welcoming eyes that sent a shudder down their spine. “Say it.”
“What?”
“Say it to me, I want to hear it on your lips.”
Hero blinked through the fog in their mind. Pain, throbbing, throbbing, throbbing. It was the only thing they could feel, the ache deep within their bones and the distant urge to scream.
A hand laid over their own, fingers interlacing. Suddenly Hero felt something else. Gentle, soft- Somewhere they were still screaming and yet, this was new. It felt right.
The words emerged on Hero’s tongue and flowed from their mouth like molasses. Sickeningly sweet. Wrong- and yet they couldn’t think of why.
“All yours. I’m all yours.”

“What happened to you?” Villain’s eyes were wide as they observed the stumbling Hero who just barely managed to grip the wall before sliding to the floor.
They were met with a chuckle in response that soon shifted into a series of hiccups. “W’dya mean? ‘M fine…never better-” Hero’s shoulders shook amidst another fit of laughter.
Villain crossed their arms, “Forgive me if I don’t believe you.” They reached forward in an attempt to lift their nemesis to their feet only to be stopped by Hero’s hand. Their lips split into a lazy smile while their hand flew to their pocket.
“Look!” From it emerged a jar with an electric blue liquid inside. “Supervillain made…,” Hero’s brow creased as if it was a struggle to get the words out, “they made a gift,” their head drooped side to side, “-t’ was so nice…jus’ for me.”
“They drugged you?!”
“No… ‘t was a present.” Hero’s brow wrinkled and they drew the jar closer to their chest.
Villain resisted the urge to roll their eyes and held out their palm. “Let me see it, Hero.”
Instead, Hero jerked away, holding the jar somehow even farther from the Villain’s grasp.
“Hero…”
“No! Get your on’ present,” they glared back, clutching the suspicious substance close as if it were some precious entity. At this point, Villain didn’t think Hero could see it as anything else. They sighed deeply. Nowhere had this been covered in training.
