Not a bug! Arachnid. A wolf spider, perhaps.
We'd need more wonderful art like this to identify fully, of course.
Spiders get a bad rap. They seem scary, on the outside, but many of them play an important role in keeping invaders at bay, and many more are gentle, and shy. Some help protect really important assets - ask cranberry farmers about their friends, the wolf spiders.
Most wolf spiders are quite solitary, and prefer quiet over bustle. They're clever, stealthy, and agile creatures, who prefer movement and adaptive spaces, rather than making a fixed webbed home. They can work from the shadows, to take down their targets with speed.
Don't agitate them, though, as they can bite people who mean them harm! It's not common, though. Only if you're being particularly rude.
I've had one or two wolf spiders visit my home, and they've helped me keep trouble at bay.

Chapter 25 Excerpt from Lost and Found: A Broganes Story
*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~~*~*~*~
"Adam," Shiro said, "Keith is not okay. He's... I don't know. He's being slow. When he talks it's almost like he's slurring. I think even his eyes are tracking slowly. He's got no expression. He tried to get up earlier, and he couldn't. I gave him a piece of candy, and he moved so slowly. He missed his mouth, and he just sat there, I don't know what to do..."
"First, calm down. Take a deep breath. I'm on my way. It sounds like he could be dissociating. It's not technically dangerous to him, but it's not something we want to keep happening. Keep giving him sensations to focus on. Make him tea. Hug him. Tell him to focus on what's happening around him. I'll be home soon. I love you."

not looking forward to organizing these.. be smart and download fics as you read instead of ending up with this mess

Apparently, "worldbuilding" is when I nod off for like three minutes, and wake up with an extraordinarily clear and detailed mental map, from a brief dream about a very cursed Windermere.
I'm gonna try to make this map, at some point. I remember a lot of details of dreams, but this map... I've never seen anything like it. I didn't put that there, not at such detail, how is it there???
Now. Why Keith is showing up in Windermere, of all places, is a different mystery. I don't believe this man has ever been to England in his life. There's no reason for him to be here... and yet, there he is.
This probably won't be a story lmao, just a dream, and a pondering, but I'm beyond puzzled. Kinda awed.

Nice! Victory post, and it's about the Pouches! And agreed on all fronts, too, blessed bunker survival knowledge.
I lost my squishy cup once and it was so tragic, I didn't know how much I needed the squishy cup until it was gone. Days. Days of mourning.
You just know, though, that I'm always going to say yes to heartbreak.
He'll come back and there's gonna be a spider family living in his old dust goggles, and all the rubber will be rotten :(
Keith's desert cabin isn’t all empty. There’s a lot of valid stuff there, besides empty instant ramen packages: papers, books, stuff he most likely stole from the garrison when they weren’t watching; and survival stuff. Night vision goggles, various knives, smaller — for precise cutting, hole punching, and even digging — and bigger, sharper ones, to slash and cut things, including his hair. Screwdrivers, durable ropes, solar panels, he's probably modified his laptop, if he has one, to automatically charge from sun. Old, yet still working, headphones. Old, yet still in good condition, clothes. He’s experienced in survival. He knows how to make things last as long as possible in the hot desert weather. His minimalistic approach isn’t natural, it’s forced at first, and then becomes a habit.
what im saying is: when they discovered Blue, in those pouches of his there most certainly were multitools, flashlights, carabiners, chewing gum, bandaids, some random pills, etc etc
like
a lot of things
he wouldn’t have gone outdoors, accompanying other people, without basic things that he carries with him everywhere anyway

Yes! YES. YEEEES.
Though, I'm constantly torn between this kind of realistic excellence... or, imagining him never wanting for many supplies, too badly, because his dad stuck an underground bunker beneath that shack, and filled it with prepper magpie insanity.
I definitely don't dream about bunkers too much
The man got lucky with an alien, I cannot unsee him as a prepper, full house or no.
Both can be good; many supplies are not eternal, even if they are long-lasting. Especially if it's been down without maintenance - or without guard. Fallout has us believing the cram can survived untouched, but things decay, even sealed. They rot. Food and equipment need care.
Also, some time ago, there was a Desert Keith post, where someone WENT OFF about why these kids were outside without freaking water bottles, and they're still right, and they should say it.

takashi tuesday #2 | (2/2)
Adam (Reading an online ‘What’s my spirit animal’ quiz): Where would you rather nap? In a box, in a sun spot, under a desk, or in a clothes basket. Shiro (Thinking about it): Probably under a desk. Adam (Confused): Under a desk? Shiro (Shrugging it off): Yeah, it’s not that bad. Don’t knock it ‘til you try it. – Keith: Hey Shiro, how did you know you were into.. You know.. Guys? Shiro: Remembering the the various games of spin the bottle he played in highschool Shiro: ..When you know, you know. – Lance (About to toss him something): Shiro, think fast! Shiro (Startled): The X-43! Lance (Confused): Wh- What? Shiro (Clearing his throat): You said think fast. – Shiro (Teenager): Where do you think we go when we die? Matt (Also a teenager): Snorts, The shadow realm. Shiro (Disturbed): What?
-- Some incorrect quotes just for fun :D I'm planning to do a short continuation of this post next week, so stay tuned for that. As always, Happy Takashi Tuesday! (p.s. NASA's X-43 is the fastest plane, that's what he was talking about.)
