This is my first Elucien draw. My favorite so far. ❤
I can't get enough of them. I'm Elucien shipper till I die. They are my roman empire. They are my endgame. I hope sjm will bless us with a beautiful elucien story.
I haven't drawn them for a while, but I'm preparing some beautiful fanarts for Elucien week. 💓 so stay tuned!!

Using this:
Tumblr media
To claim Azriel would beat Lucien in a duel is like me using this:
Tumblr media
And this:
Tumblr media
.... as proof that Mor and Az will end up together.
Because all excerpts are from book 2.
It was in book 3 we found out that Mor is not interested in romantic relationships with men / males.
And it was in book 4 (or 5 depending on how you're counting things) that we had this scene:
Tumblr media
It was after book 2 we found out Lucien is Helion's sole heir. At the end of book 2 we saw him tap into Day's light to free himself to get to Elain. Now, we have evidence that Lucien can control others with a High Lords dominance. We also saw Lucien find his way to the continent on his own, something Az said it would be too dangerous for even Rhys to do. We read of how Lucien ran all the way from the shore to find Elain, uninjured after battle though covered in the blood and gore of others.
Azriel is powerful, no doubt. But he is not going to be a match for another MMC showing the markers of becoming a future High Lord, something not even Eris has shown yet for those who like to use the HL meeting as proof of something. Not to mention there's a big difference between other characters trying to respect the rules of a political meeting versus someone in a battle, fighting for their life.
Facts are:
Lucien would beat Az if it came down to it.
However Lucien would never fight someone considered family to an ally of his because he's more mature than that.

I really want to know what's going through Graysen's head when he has to look at Lucien.
I imagine the insecurity must be...poignant.

Lucien, trying to buy a Father's day card:
Lucien: Excuse me, do you have any that just say "You are my dad"
Associate: Well I-
Lucien: How about "You banged my mom"
Associate: No...
Lucien: You know what, I'll just get a blank one
Lucien, writing in the card: You are a father. This is a day. Here is a card.

Don't get me wrong... Nesta is my Queen. I love her and ACOSF is my fav book from ACOTAR.
But why is everybody blaming Cassian for not taking her side when she and Rhys pick a fight? 😭😂
I mean... i get it. Cass is her mate and boyfriend/husband, and it's romantic and he must protect her in every way because that's what a good mate and husband should do. But it's not like Nesta could not fight her own battles. I even think she'll be pissed off if Cass would ever intervene.
Also, let's not forget that the batboys have a 500+ years relationship and the Archeron sister know them for like.. 2 years? Maybe 3.
I can't blame Cass for being in a situation where he needs to find balance between his brother for life ( who is also his HL and uses his rank on him) and his mate ( whom he clearly loves but which also makes mistakes sometimes).

"Don't do that. Don't— don't touch me like that " -QOS by sjm
ROWAN BROKE MY HEART IN THIS SCENE
And I knew... I really knew that he didn't mean to act like that because it was obvious that he felt something for Aelin.
Later I understood how miserable he felt when he realised that finally he started to feel alive again, through love, when his mate and his baby were dead.
Sjm usually doesn't explore in depth the man trauma in her books (Rhys- just a certain lvl, Hunt, Fenrys, Lucien...) but I would love to see her write more about it in her future books because I trust in her way of writing and explaining and develope things.

"Why was Elain willing to hook up with Az if she feels so strongly about Lucien?"
That's an common argument with a really easy answer.
Nesta with other males-
Tumblr media
Nesta with Cassian -
Tumblr media
Feyre with Tamlin after UTM -
Tumblr media
Feyre about Rhys -
Tumblr media
Because these are human girls who are completely freaked out by the pull of the mating bond.
Did Nesta and Feyre know exactly what the bond was or that they had one? No, but they felt some unexplainable draw to Cassian and Rhys that scared them because they didn't consciously decide to want either of them. They wanted them while feeling like they shouldn't want them or were afraid to want them so they went about their lives as if they didn't feel anything at all by sleeping with other males, by getting engaged to another male (a whole lot more than what transpired between Elain and Az.
Rhys and Cassian needed to deal with their mates engaging in actual sex with others.
Lucien, if he's even aware, will have only had to deal with Elain sharing some glances and an almost kiss with another guy.
If Nessian and Rhysand were able to overcome what they did, there is nothing standing in the way of Elucien and if Nesta and Feyre were drawn to their mates early on yet still chose to hook up with people outside of them then it's fair to say Elain is also drawn to Lucien but fighting it. Just like every single Archeron did.
It's called transitioning from human to fae and coming around to the idea of the enormity of mating bonds.
It's called the author letting the characters grow into their destiny rather than making their journey looking too picture perfect.
It's called tension.
It's called building suspense.
It's called interesting writing while still remaining true to an authors preferred trope.
If you have an issue with Fated Mates and an author who writes her characters to have conflict of all kinds before accepting their bonds then maybe people might want to look for a different author.
She's how many books and how many mated pairs in?
She already gave Elucien a unique twist to their story by having their bond immediately snap. She's not taking her only MMC / FMC pairing to have that and also write a rejected bond. She's already broken the mold for them to create a fresh storyline and it is to her benefit to explore that, to delve into how two characters might fall in love with the FMC fully aware of her bond but fighting against it. To dive into Elain's mind with knowledge of her bond from the start.
A rejected bond makes all the tension and uncertainty that she's written between Elucien so far a complete waste of time when you consider how Elain pushing him away looks a whole lot like Nesta and Feyre pushing their mates away too.

Cassian: Do that thing that Eris does.
Lucien: I already make fun of you.
Cassian: No… that heat bubble thing.
Lucien: It’s not a power I have. The most I can do is *open arms*.
Cassian: *hugs him back*.
Cassian: Hmm… so warm… so toasty.
Feyre: Told you he’s warm.
Elain: And how do you know exactly?
Cassian: *glances at Elain*
Cassian: *wraps his wings around Lucien*
Cassian: I’ll cuddle with you if Elain doesn’t want to.
Elain: I can still hear you!

So... I just finished Caraval (first book) and OMG!!
This book was AMAZING!! Not a masterpiece, but definitely a good book who kept me hooked and curious about the rest of the series. It was a 5 ⭐ for me. Can't wait to read the second book (bc DANTE ofc 😩😩💓).
So... I'm planning some fanarts for the first book. I've been thinking about the scene when Scar cleans Julian head wound, OR when they run from her father and take the boat through rain OR, in the final chapter, right before their kiss, when she touches his face scar.
But of course, I also want to hear your opinions!! Feel free to tell me which scene from Caraval you want to see drawn by me💓

On point.
I first read sjm books in my native language. But when it comes to bonus chapters or when I need to read a scene exactly how sjm wrote it bc I want to draw it, I read it in English. And it's always the same story!!
I shipped Gwynriel and Elucien when I've read in my native language and definitely continued to ship them when I checked the English version, which by the way, only confirmed even more the ship for me.
I was shown a post this morning (I think it was from Tumblr, but I'm not 100% sure) where someone asked if maybe something was LOST IN TRANSLATION because so many Gwynriel shippers aren't native English speakers.
Now...
I'm going to give this person the benefit of the doubt and believe that they truly don't mean anything negative by the question, even though the implications are... harmful to say the least.
Here's the deal, guys.
There are Gwynriel shippers all around the world because there are ACOTAR readers all around the world. The ship is not localized to a region or a language.
When people read books, the words on the page send a message. Sometimes, if we're super casual readers, the messaging is limited or we don't read a ton into it. For other readers who choose to delve deep into how the author writes to try to understand what might come next, it is obviously a bigger investment.
But at the end of the day, we all read the SAME BOOK (and bonus content) and those words made us all feel different ways. Made us want or predict different things. And that's all well and good. The problem comes up when we try to explain why we feel the way that we do.
I'm an engineer. Even though I enjoy creative writing and art, my brain is practical. I like having evidence. I like being able to identify trends and make an educated prediction based on them. As someone who ships Gwynriel, I have never denied that there are canonical moments where Azriel and Elain have some level of... something. On page. It would be ignorant of me to say that those moments don't exist. However, for the most part FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN, when a Gwynriel shipper tries to use canonical evidence to support their ship -- WHICH EXISTS -- it's a constant barrage of 'that's not what that means' or 'how could you read that romantically?' or 'Gwyn is just a side character'. And then there are the blatant hypocrisies, like how Azriel saving Elain from Hybern is romantic but Azriel saving Gwyn at Sangravah should never be mentioned ever again.
I guess what this long-winded ramble is trying to say is that there's nothing lost in translation. We've read the same story, and we believe Gwynriel makes sense. We lean on canon and trends in the author's style to support the ship, and then we headcanon the hell out of it, because fandom is supposed to be fun like that. Some people read the story and believe that Elriel makes sense, and that's perfectly fine. But don't come at a Gwynriel shipper, attacking their textual evidence with your headcanon that Elain was barely existed in ACOSF bc she was apparently training to be a spy and she and Azriel were falling in love completely off-page with nothing to show for it.
And don't you dare make an implication so blatantly out of bounds like blaming it on some strange translation error that somehow miraculously makes Gwynriel makes sense, but only if it's not in English. Like... give me a break. And... think about what you're saying. For A SINGLE MOMENT.

If Lady Autumn didn't exist, I would be his wife.😩🔥❤
I'm so invested in his character. I just want to know everything about him and Lady Autumn and his court. I just want to know if he knows or not that he has a beautiful son. I want to see him 💀 Beron, free LA and live happily ever after.
He's one of the best characters from ACOTAR and nobody can change my mind.
For those who have read TOG, I hope that Sjm doesn't pull a Aedion-Gavriel situation, iykyk 🥲
