I take it both personally and as a crime that nobody has told me about cringetober

I love daily challenges but I’m so not built for them. Here’s my singular encantober contribution. Day 13: Fear. Happy friday the 13th to our favorite superstitious little guy.

Claudia life story timeline for @encanto-extended-edition. Art commissioned from @toxicxsugarxart. I came up with all the dates and rough sketches for the outfits, so any historical inaccuracies are on me. Anyway onto the story!

Claudia Ramos was born and grew up in Argentina, but her parents moved her to the US when she was 14 because of their work. She spent all of her time studying and had the best grades in her school, but because of how unsocial she was and general racism, she didn’t have any friends. As she grew up, her parents gradually became more wealthy and she was able to go to university. Unfortunately, she spent most of her time partying and didn’t really know what she wanted to do with her life despite her intelligence.

In her 20s partying era, she started using makeup to lighten her skin and generally tried harder to fit in. She met a man who would eventually become her husband, and she dropped out of school. During her marriage, her parents died and her husband became abusive. He spent all her money, cut her off from her friends, and became angry when she spoke Spanish or went out without lighter makeup. She divorced him when she was 30 and went back to school to become a therapist.

After graduating, she intended to go back to Argentina, but she met a woman in Mexico at 38 and fell in love. She ditched the stereotypical housewife aesthetic when she realized she was only dressing like that because it was expected of her, and her new gf helped her embrace her real self. She had family in Colombia, so Claudia went with her and they settled down, basically married even though they legally couldn’t and her wife had to disguise herself as a man. They lived like that until she was 52, taking in a pair of abandoned sisters along the way, until their village was attacked and they were forced to flee. Claudia was the only survivor when she found her way to the encanto.

I accidentally melted her hand against the metal pot while hot-watering her hair, so now in my made-up canon she was born with an underdeveloped hand. Even though she’s not the main guitarist of the band, she does play occasionally. Maybe she’s only into singing because she didn’t think she could play with her hand being the way it is, and only recently started learning guitar. ;v; I’ve never seen the actual show, I’m just playing with my dolls here.

Another contender for @wdtajn that I decided against because it wasn’t very original, I got the idea from this incredible piece. I decided to finish it anyway, so just consider this one a gift to the mods. I feel like this fits the sense of humor and modern AUs I’ve seen from you guys.

I’ve had plans for an encanto animatic in my head for like a year now. It’s gonna blow your minds if it ever happens actually.

@karin-miyoshi OH nice I actually did finish that one. I guess that beginning part stuck with me so much it got completely separated from the rest of the show in my head and I thought it was a totally different show. Thanks for the info I was going insane trying to find an anime that didn’t actually exist.

Drawing that madoka encanto crack crossover, combined with getting random magical girl redesigning vids recommended to me on youtube... yeah that permanently altered my brain chemistry and now all I can think about is designing a magical girl story, as if I haven’t tried that 1000 times already. You can’t say I don’t have the experience though. All of my failed attempts have led up to this. Maybe I’ll even make it a video like I used to do every time I had an exciting character design idea.
