At what stage of a relationship are you most likely to withdraw emotionally?
Arthur: He doesn't truly like withdrawing emotionally from anyone. If he had to do so though it would be whenever he thinks the least amount of feelings could be hurt.
Lancelot: At the very beginning. Lancelot observes people before he ever truly makes contact. If he doesn't think you'll be a good fit then he won't ever engage in the first place.
Guinevere: At that make or break point that every relationship has. At the point of no return. If the other person isn't willing to take the plunge with her then Guinevere won't waste her time any longer.
Joseph/Josephine: Towards the beginning too. J is shy by nature and doesn't come out of their shell much... it doesn't take all that much to get them to shut back inside.
Isaac/Isolde: Right before real feelings start to enter the mix. They've never been good at dealing with them and that's not something that will start now. (Maybe.)
Caelian/Caelia: Before the relationship truly starts. C isn't one to sit around and see if they can start liking someone. If the connection isn't there with them then it's not there.

Oh, that snippet... it feels like Guinevere is going to be the one romancing US instead of us romancing her!
Once you get far enough into her route that will certainly be the case. Guinevere hates that she can’t love you out in the open, which means she’ll never pass up an opportunity to showcase her adoration/love for you whenever she’s actually able to do so.
She’d do anything for you.

RCKYCB I'm not sure if this was an invitation (if not, just ignore this pls!!1) but can we get a lil something for Guinevere with 'Let me love you like a woman' and/or 'Kiss me hard before you go'? 😳😳😳
You observe-- with the barest hint of a smile curling your lips-- as the woman seated opposite you finishes putting up her hair in an elaborate braid. The crystalline blue of her eyes glint with well-hidden humor while she straightens her dress.
It wouldn’t do for the Queen of England to appear disheveled after all.
“What are you thinking in that beautiful mind, darling.” The question, coupled with the sudden closeness in proximity, causes your attention to snap back into the moment. Wherein you’re met by Guinevere’s open amusement as she smiles softly down at you. “It must have been quite intriguing for you to have been enraptured so.”
“It wasn’t anything, Guen,” you reply, well aware that the answer wouldn’t appease your lover at all. “I was just observing your usual rituals.”
An elegant brow arches. “Rituals? Dare I ask what those are?”
Biting back a smile, you allow yourself to be pulled to your feet so Guinevere could wrap you in her arms. The strong, yet gentle, hold being one that would never fail to soothe you.
“It’s nothing bad, I promise.” You trace a trail down the elegant design of her bodice. “I was just taking note of how you always like to look your best.”
“That makes me sound quite vain.” Her nose wrinkles teasingly at the words. “Though, I must admit, I do like to look my best for the vultures that inhabit the Court.”
“As you should,” you agree, nuzzling closer into her embrace. “Of course, I don’t think anyone could match your beauty.”
There’s a brief moment of silence as Guen seemingly gets lost in the sway of your bodies-- a slender hand running up and down your spine in the way she knew you liked. A gentle puff of air ghosts across your cheek as a soft hum escapes her full lips.
“I can think of someone that far surpasses it, darling.”
You don’t know what to say to that. Guinevere being this sweet to you wasn’t a new occurrence by any stretch, but you don’t know if you’d ever get used to it. Her open admiration, the strength in which she loved you, made it easier for you to accept, however.
Not knowing what else to say, you speak the first words that pop into your mind. “Do you have to go?”
If it made you sound like a petulant child, which you’re quite certain it did, Guinevere doesn’t give any inclination that she agreed with the sentiment. Her expression, once she pulled back from you, being one of soft adoration.
“I wish I could stay here with you, my love.” Slender fingers brush an errant strand of hair out of your face. “Unfortunately, I have duties to attend to but the moment I’m done I will stop at nothing to find you.”
Even if you wanted Guinevere to stay here with you, you know that she couldn’t. Being the Queen of England was a task that meant long days and sometimes even longer nights. You admired Guinevere and Arthur alike for being able to bear the burden the crown casts over all that wears it.
“I will wait for the moment we can be together again.” Your hand slips behind her neck to gently pull her closer. “Kiss me hard before you go?”
Guinevere smiles softly at you-- her next words ghost across your lips. “And I’ll love you softly when I return.”
You couldn’t ask for anything else from her-- from your Guinevere.
Your Queen.

Say, about the dark arts 👀... Will people react differently to those MCs? Either positively or (most likely) negatively?
There will be different reactions for each type of magical affiliation. Warriors will be more intrigued by Battle Magic, Scholars more intrigued by Alchemy, Healers more intrigued by Healing, and Dark Arts gets a bit iffier. It’s mainly because not much is known about Fae Magic within England; only memories are left because Uther had all the books on it purged.
The character, off the top of my head, that has the strongest reaction initially is C.

Idk much about the rings around pupils but I just imagined my MC inclined to dark arts who has grey eyes with a silver ring and just... Couldn't be more perfect. A bitch gotta be incognito sometimes.
That would definitely be a cool visual. Just be careful you never stand in direct light if you’d wish to stay incognito with your magical affiliation.

Idk if someone asked this already but what will happen to Arthur if MC romances Guinevere? Will they still get/remain married?
Guinevere will already be married to Arthur whenever her romance with the MC commences, but she’ll make it abundantly clear that it’s a marriage of convenience and not one borne from love-- Arthur will also make that clear if you ever wish to ask him.
She will stay married to Arthur for a bit until it would be deemed safe for her split-- publicly-- with the King. Until then it would be a love within the shadows (barring being around close friends), although Guinevere would do her best to showcase her love for you, until you’d both be able to be together out in the sun. With Arthur’s full backing, of course.

How intense are the coloured rings around our pupils? Are they so vibrant they're the first thing people notice? Or would one have to be close to see the subtle, dark halos in our eyes?
It usually depends on the emotions you’re feeling. If you’re relatively calm, and your magic isn’t reacting to anything, they’re semi-vibrant (where people do notice them). However, they become luminescent whenever you’re exerting a lot of power and need to concentrate.

Hii, love this concept, can I ask what do the dark arts do? The other types of magic are self explanatory, but I have no idea on this one.
The Dark Arts are pretty much what the name suggests too— it’s the Arcane Art of harnessing the more volatile forms of magic (like blood magic). A big difference between the Dark Arts and the other three types is that it just takes from the caster where the others take too but they give various things in return.
A Dark Sorcerer or Sorceress has undeniable power but the punishments for having said power is severe and most don’t see the magic as a blessing but a curse. It slowly eats away at the weaker afflicted but the strong willed are able to harness it (as much as it can be harnessed).

I have longed wished for an Arthurian IF where I can romance Queen Guinevere and here it is. Here YOU are. I am absolutely excited! Is it too early to ask for some fluffy romantic facts about the Queen? Is Morgana going to be able to brush her hair in the evening? What's she like with PDA? Please I am STARVING
I’m so happy to hear that!! Though I do believe that @kaiwrites-if has Guinevere as a RO too, but I could be mistaken. You can ask whatever you’d like to know. 🧡🧡🧡
Guinevere is a hard to read woman, but she absolutely loves Morgana (I’ll just use this as a filler name). She’d do anything to bring a smile to your face, would challenge Arthur if it meant keeping you safe. Her passion, once unlocked, may cause trouble at times but all she wants is for her love to be safe at the end of the day.
When Guinevere gets antsy or bored she fiddles with things— expect for your Morgana to have a lot of flower crowns and various other things placed in her room.
Guinevere has really long hair— down to the small of her back— that she usually keeps up, but she’d be more than happy to have Morgana brush out her hair in the evening. She’d lean into your touch and might even let out a sound that almost reminds you of a purr.
As for PDA? It highly depends on who you’re both around. If Guinevere is around people she trusts— who know that her and Arthur aren’t truly together— then she has no shame in kissing/touching you. If you kiss her passionately expect to be backed up into a wall so your Queen can ravish you. If it’s in public? Guinevere isn’t as open at all but she still does small things to make sure the people who do know, know that you’re hers; grazing the small of your back, having you by her side, offering you gentle smiles, anything that would make people understand you were in the Queen’s favor.
Guinevere isn’t used to cuddling but she’s never felt more at peace then when you’re in her arms. On some rare days, when she allows herself to act like a child again, you’ll spend the whole day in bed with her arms wrapped around you. As she doesn’t want to be anywhere else.
She may be the Queen of England but you’re the Queen of Her Heart… she’d kill anyone that wished to harm you. God forbid anyone ever try to take you from her. She’d hunt them down, wouldn’t rest, until you were back in her arms.
Guinevere loves you more than anything— barring her country— and she’d do everything in her power to showcase that fact.
She wants nothing more than to see you smile. To make you as happy as your mere presence makes her.
