Black Lives Matter is doing protests wrong if all they want is to make black lives better and to be seen as equals as they claim. That’s what Martin Luther King Jr. wanted too and everyone who stood behind him. But we’re seeing two completely different courses of action.
MLK lead peaceful marches to make their struggles and the change they want be seen. He insisted on not using violence, even in self defense against the angry racist mobs, fire hoses and dogs, because he knew that wouldn’t get the support and respect they needed for real lasting change; change that would move the masses to better themselves. And It Worked.
BLM is leading protests that consistently turn into violent riots that degrade into burning black neighborhoods and businesses to the ground, actively attacking the police and anyone they believe to not be on their side with excessive violence that they attempt to carry into the personal lives of their targets, calling for the dismantling of society as a whole, threatening further violence if they’re demands aren’t met, and lying about their actions from the very start. They’re using violence to instill fear to make the changes they want and silence any opposition. Creating an “Us vs. Them” mentality that is historically proven to lead to anything but peace. Fear and hate is not what you use to create change for the better.
BLM bases their arguments on emotions and virtues and demand the law and reason mold to them, wanting to shut down any discussion for a middle ground. MLK appealed to emotion and virtue too, appealing to basic humanity for equal treatment, but he also presented fair arguments to reason and law so he could civilly explain to his opponents the whys and hows behind his movement and the change he wants to see. That is what BLM is missing, reason and civil discussion.
You can also see the stark contrast between how everyone reacts to these protests. MLK was given nothing but hate, people found any reason they could to jail him and his fellow protesters and MLK was eventually murdered out of hate. BLM is being praised by the media and everyone not scared into silence, people found every reason to excuse crimes of the “protesters” and fought to get them out of jail, and bigger powers are ensuring their “protests” continue.
I saw one argument supporting the violence of BLM by using MLK’s murder as a reason why, to that I say the actions of your opposition speaks as much about your movement as your movement’s actions. In other words MLK’s peaceful and eventually successful movement caused his opposition to fight even harder to stop the moving train, and they failed; BLM’s violent tactics isn’t leading to support, half of their “allies” are simply afraid and their opposition is forced into hiding least they lose their lives.
One side is peaceful the other is violent and emotional. Which side would you rather have to bring change?

They attacked her because they knew she wouldn’t and couldn’t fight back and wanted to feel good about attacking the “evil” Trump supporters. And they call Trump supporters the scum of the earth. Unbelievable.
Absolutely Disgraceful. Lock Him Up And Throw The Key Away!

Breonna Taylor’s death was a tragedy and I wish with everything I have that it didn’t happen. Recently, however more details have come out about what happened that night and it’s not what everyone says and she had several opportunities to get herself out of that situation.
The police did show up at the right address with a warrant for suspected drug dealing that her boyfriend was leading. The police did knock for several minutes and got no response with no other way to peaceably enter before they forced entry, this was confirmed by a third unaffiliated party in the official report. The cops were then confronted with both Breonna and her boyfriend who was already armed with a firearm and shot at the cops and hit one before the police fired back. Briana was caught in the cross fire and tragically died for something so easily avoided.
But BLM wants everyone to think this was a racially motivated hunting spree by the evil cops. The Cops didn’t go in that night to kill anyone, only to arrest the guilty if they found any incriminating evidence to begin with. They did not purposefully kill Briana Taylor and I do not believe the cop should be charged with the highest crime in the book. Justice should be served but only to the degree that is fair and warranted to the truth and only the truth. What the mob wants and the story the mob tells is not true justice.

So what are you going to do about the muslim faith that tells people to publicly kill any LGBTQ+ person because of what they are? Because a majority of countries that are against that basic right to life for gay people are muslim.
As members of the LGBTQ+ community, we must continue the fight for our rights worldwide, not just domestically. Some of us take the rights we have for granted. We must instead fight for those who are severely prejudiced against in the hope that one day, that everyone can have the fundamental human right to live their life as they please. We need to celebrate each push forward but this must not stop us from continuing to fight! It is not the attainment of our rights that secures them, it is our constant pursuit of standing up for others without basic human rights that safeguards them.

It was capitalism that drove people to invent all the great tools we have today to help disabled people instead of just leaving them out to die or needlessly struggle. Id rather take my chances in a system where I still have a voice and a choice over a system where you’re told to go to a hospital for “care” and get killed by an “accident” because that’s what they do to kill thousands that they deemed useless without it looking like it’s their fault.

Someone please tell me how burning down everything in sight is going to help end racism and get everyone on your side?

Ah yes lets totally ignore the fact that the guy that died was The Aggressor and looked ready to beat the life out of that young man just for having a different idea. In that picture he is clearly using his skateboard (him being the great skater that he is) to clobber another person already on the ground in the head. He got what he deserved and if you actually watch the whole video he had every chance to avoid his fate, but didn’t.
I’m so done with these Violent Riots happening over the stupidest stuff and the Mainstream media twisting all the truth out of these stories. I want to slap sense into half the country at this point

In case anyone is curious this is how some people are reacting to the shooting.
They don’t care that he ran after the kid.
They don’t care that he was a chronic woman abuser.
They’re just sad that one of “theirs” caught a round to the chest.
So over the internet today. But hey - there’s one less pedophile and one less abuser alive today. Thanks, Kyle.

It’s about time these people making CLEAR OPEN THREATS get arrested for the crime they’ve committed. And she looks so sad and surprised getting arrested like she thought that was acceptable behavior. Ridiculous

I’m so glad you had a good time at that parade and I’m sorry you had to meet such hate too. Personally I don’t support the LGBTQ+ lifestyle but I will always see people for what they are: Human Beings, even if I disagree with them. I get so mad whenever hateful people like the ones you met just spread their hate and refuse to listen. I hope you have a wonderful life and that you can be comfortable with who you are. And please remember that no matter who you are God still loves you.
I know I’m very privileged. I’m cis, white, and I look like a good, straight girl. Also I’m not officialy out, except my closest circle of friends. I know some LGBTQ+ people who are less norm-conforming meet violence and hate daily and it cannot be compared with my experience. But I need to talk about this.
I’ve attended my first pride parade today. In Poland it is called Marsz Równości - so, equality parade would be more accurate translation. It was great. I don’t remember seeing so much beautiful, colorful people, dancing, having a good time and being themselves (btw everybody had masks and were trying to keep the distance). I felt included. I felt for once that in this sad, homophobic country I have a community that has my back.
But there was this one moment when we were passing by a group of Młodzież Wszechpolska - a fascist organisation that was doing a counterdemonstration. They were shouting some terrible things, calling us f*ggots and perverts and screaming that LGBT should be killed. You know, regular stuff. And there was this girl standing among them. Young, my age. Maybe in another reality we could be friends. We were looking at each other for a moment and I’ve waved at her. Just a greeting. And her face got filled with so much hate, her brows scowled, her mouth tightened. She showed me a middle finger.
It was nothing. But I’ve never felt such direct hate - and for what? I was there with my friends, we were having a good time, we weren’t threatenig anyone or doing anything wrong. We just dared to exist in public as LGBTQ people.
I wonder why people hate each other so blindly, over such minutiae. I know why, I know it’s years of systemic opression and lack of education and superstitions and politically-made fear. But still, I wonder. It’s so incomprehensible to me. It just makes me very sad.

I question this because what you guys are pushing for in “Your day” is another round of segregation and criminalizing people for their existence and not their actions. REPEATING THE WRONGS OF HISTORY DOES NOT MEAN YOU’RE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HISTORY.
I stand against segregation and criminalizing anyone who hasn’t done anything wrong. If I’m wrong then I’ll happily die on this hill.
Literally nothing hits as hard as that one tweet that goes

"This is OUR day now, and you will embrace change or die on the wrong side of history."
Very tempted to put this as my senior quote.

I don’t care what you believe or what political affiliation or movement you support: If you continue to deny that there is some kind of prolonged violence going on in every major city in america (doesn’t matter who’s responsible)  You are purposefully denying the obvious truth. And ignoring a new problem we should all agree needs to be addressed.
I want our cities to be SAFE again. I want all this HATE to STOP. I don’t care where it’s coming from. I see our cities and neighborhoods burning and people too scared to walk outside in their own hometown. This is a problem!!!
Our downtown cities have become war zones and I believe we need to fix that problem before we can properly proceed to the change we want.  I know not every protester is a rioter and not every rioter is a protester but the results we’re seeing now due to the violence is still a roadblock to actual progression.
If I get hate for just wanting peace in my hometown again, then so be it.

Question to everyone in favor of continuing the lockdown or forcing everyone to wear masks:
If this virus is so deadly then where are all the dead customers and dead workers at stores that have stayed open the entire time? Where are all the dead people from stores that have stayed open but haven’t enforced mask wearing until this month?
Please share any of your findings. We’d all love to know.
