I haven't posted in a bit, so just to share one of my personal builds here are some gameplay shots. Morning time for my celebrity chef! Off to the studio and then dinner service at her restaurant! I'm in love with her house, I don't think I've ever made anything with this aesthetic before and exploring the coastal collection by Harrie, seriously high quality CC set!

Also upgraded to Gshade and added a lighting mod and just... WOW.

Alright we're back for just enough time to post this build then we'll see what kind of shenanigans EA gets up to this week lol.

Here are my two cute little Kyoto style apartments with a small Boba tea shop as well. Full disclosure, I am not Japanese and have never even attempted a build like this before. I used lots of picture inspiration and had two of my favorite anime characters in mind when making these units. If you watch anime and know of the Monogatari Series (yes I know some of it is icky, but I'm hooked lol show me an anime that's not) the units were made for Hitagi Senjougahara and Tsubasa Hanekawa. One unit is cute and girly for a girl who is learning to let her shield down and soften her spikes, the other is plain but slowly being added to for a girl learning to take the mask off and let herself be who she is even if it's painful. That's one of the things I liked about that anime is it's basically the same lesson but in different ways, almost could be the same girls but different situations, it explores the context of life and self and they are probably my favorite anime girls of all time, so this is for them. It was fun using their personalities as a base for the interior, I could really explore their character while playing.

Also the tea shop is very cute, but idk if I should keep it this way... I feel like a book store might have been a better idea. Let me know what you think?

Sorry for the wait everyone, but I'm sure no one is surprised and everyone is probably in the same boat. But I just cant even bring myself to start up The Sims right now so probably taking hiatus for the week until I hear better news. When things finally start to look up I'll post my latest nocc kyoto style build. It turned out so cute!

So I guess I'll see you all in week or so and I hope everyone has a great few days. ✌

Wow EA, you hadn't even fixed For Rent yet, and you put in a ridiculous cash grabby sham of an update and at the same time make my game unplayable... I'm really running out of patience for this company. I hope McGee gets his revenge on them 10 fold someday and gets his intellectual property back from this terrible company. I also really hope these new life sim games coming out kick EA in the pants and make them realize how ****** they've been to their customers.

I feel the need to pass this around even if I may not send it far. If it helps anyone I am grateful. Please do the quick check if you can, it only leads to folder paths in your files for you to check for the exe (program run file if you're learning)

Feel free to ignore if you don't use CC and mods. It's seems mainly targeted at actual mods (like script and gameplay mods) so far, but still hard to tell how far they've reached.

⚠️ ADVISORY: Malicious Mods, Identity Theft, Malware, and You ⚠️

Hey, all! Not sure how many people will see this, but if you do, please reblog. This is a 'little' post regarding a potentially big problem affecting the Sims 4 community. If you download mods/CC at all (and yes I know CC is a type of mod), this applies to you.

TL;DR: For the sake of your personal info, identity, bank account, et cetera, please STOP downloading any mods/CC for the time being. Especially from the following sites: CurseForge, ModTheSims, The Sims Resource. It doesn't matter if you know the creator or not. Give it at least a week while we all figure out what's going on. If you must, I would recommend only downloading directly from a creator's Patreon (assuming they have one).

Other people have written at length about the mods in question, so I'll just share their posts below.

What's going on?

From the Sims 4 After Dark Discord server (a server you should join if you're not in it already):

⚠️If you downloaded any mod listed in the above post and played the game with them installed, this is the cleaner program Kuttoe (creator of the Home Regions and Townie Demographics mods) mentioned in their post: GitHub - overwolf/sims4-social-events-cleaner: Source files and exe release for a tool to clean up your machine if you have downloaded the "Social Events - Unlimited Time" Sims 4 mod ⚠️

Got confirmation from Kuttoe that as long as you didn't boot up the game with the malicious mods installed (or deleted them completely from your computer before playing the game), you *should* be fine. Still, I recommend that anyone who thinks they might have downloaded any of them run the cleaner program.

Here's an explanation from @anadius2 (reposted by Kuttoe) in the Sims 4 After Dark server (not providing a link to prevent brigading or spam, but you can DM me and I'll give you the link) about what the malware will do to your computer:

So, to recap:

Fake mods were uploaded to Curseforge, ModTheSims, and The Sims Resource

@msqsimsofficial had their account compromised on 2 of those sites (they are a victim of hacking, so do not send them hate!)

If downloaded, these malicious mods have the ability to steal very sensitive info (your passwords, credit card info if saved somewhere in your browser, data)

As of right now, antivirus software may not be able to detect the malware

Mac and Linux users seem to be safe; Windows users are the ones that could be affected

Why is this happening?

Unsure. Lots of theories are being made by people far more knowledgeable than me, but from the looks of things, could be crypto bullshit and/or an attempt to steal your data and sell it. This is very, very serious, and could wreck your life if said data/personal info falls into the wrong hands.

It's always a good idea to change passwords every couple of months or so, but if you think you've been affected, you also need to change your passwords for things like online banking, email and social media accounts, healthcare sites AFTER running the cleaner.

What now?

I want to talk about how we approach modding our games and downloading files in general.

Please STOP downloading mod file folders from people who did not create the specific mods. Period. This includes Sim dumps, building/lots with CC, mod folders promoted on YouTube, etc. This does not mean that anyone sharing them is doing so maliciously. In fact, I appreciate the amount of effort people put into compiling these resources! But unless you're super careful (and super knowledgeable), you run the risk of downloading malware like this on your computer. Make no mistake, the malicious files in question look like run-of-the-mill, everyday mods. Two of them were even posted from a trustworthy creator's actual account! The only way to know what they actually do is to peek into the code, and idk about you, but I don't know Python. So even after this issue is resolved, you really should only download files from the creators themselves.

But what about CC shopping?

Here's how I like to approach it: I stick to lookbooks and combing through the Patreons/accounts of creators who make items I like. If I see a Sim dump with CC that I'm interested, I try to reach out to the poster and ask where they got specific CC. If I can't do that, I see if it was shared via Drive, look at the individual files themselves, then head to the original CC creator's official download page and get it from the source.

Miss Robichaux's Academy

American Horror Story: Coven inspired Witch Academy for Glimmer Brook.

Sorry for the picture dump but I spent a LOT of time on this because I overthink everything lol. Like I mentioned in my last post it is definitely not 100% accurate because EA is strange, Hollywood magic, and specific items I don't have. However I did spend a bunch of time studying pictures of the set, re-watching episodes, and just general vibe hunting for this house. The house in question they used is an actual place in New Orleans called Buckner Mansion. Beautiful house but the interior is a bit different so I needed to improvise. Some things I really hadn't noticed until I paid attention like Cordelia's workspace right in front of an old unused fireplace in her greenhouse.

Anyway the house is built for the large residential lot in Glimmer Brook and is quite pricey at 488,817 Simoleans, but hey I didn't build it for rags to riches or anything lol. It would also fit in nicely in one of the base game neighborhoods as well but you might need to delete some trees I placed off lot. I was planning on using it for some fun story building with some sims from during or after Coven, but I realized you could also use it for some new characters from during or after Apocalypse, or just young witches and wizards all together.

If you are interested in playing with it you can find it in my gallery at thesimfulbuilder, just make sure you have the required CC beforehand if you want it exactly as shown. Small side note, the main sink in the kitchen cannot be used by sims due to the archway but the fancy little butler's sink in the island makes the kitchen still functional. I play-tested and made sure it all works (even with laundry day stuff) but I always could have missed something important so please let me know if I did so I can fix it for everyone!

WIP, currently building something from one of my favorite TV shows. Won't be completely accurate because of size issues and the magic of television but I'm having so much fun throwing in little details. It's been a bit since I did a cc build too and I'm so happy with it so far... now I just need to find a cc melon baller and crystal bowl... lol

Today I've got a cute little set of condos for you guys! Full amenities and cute LA colors, I built this to take advantage of the large lot in Del Sol Valley that has the three driveway entrances. The main goal was to practice some street view realism and I think it came out decent but I could definitely use more practice lol. The glowing unit numbers are super cute imo tho so I included some nighttime shots too.

Each unit is only fitted with what would realistically be installed, so pretty much the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry area. I did however include light switches to work off of the street view and add some realism to the units as well. So these are mainly for living in and renovating but you could always go at them a lil to get ready for hosting tenants.

So since I am essentially starting from scratch on my save game I needed to get some public buildings together for Newcrest. So here is Omnifit Oasis (ya know, cuz of the O lol). I had not done a modern build in quite a while and wanted something cleaner and elegant. While searching for inspiration on pinterest I found what I am totally convinced was one of the real life influences for the Spa Fitness Pack. Check it out!

Happy Winter everyone!

I took a small break to actually play with some of the new expansions I got for the holidays and spend some time with my husband. We had a good time this year but it was a struggle to get into the spirit on my part for sure. When I came back to the drawing board I was still feeling a bit burnt-out, started and demolished quite a few different concepts then finally stopped and reflected a bit on it. I watched some videos on tiny winter houses I had liked before and tried to get the juices flowing. Finally as I was watching I asked myself, what would be my dream winter vacation? No one around but my husband and hot water under falling snow and trees with fireplaces everywhere. Another video started and I had the fuel I needed, and so came this little love letter to my beautiful man!

So without further ado, I present Pine Falls Treehouse! This luxury Sim BnB treehouse will be the perfect romantic getaway you always dreamed of! Your own hot spring, sauna, full kitchen, and what I can only describe as the nap/video game room. Built to appreciate the snow in style and ALONE. And I think after this year a lot of us could use just that! Since it is a rental and based on a real life Air Bnb, I tried to make it feel like it with complimentary thermoses and snack packs, board games, and little things the host might have left for you, because those things are just so satisfying and I will never understand why lol.

The only cc items I used were:

Ravasheen - Counter Fit Fridges (thank you so much for these, all your mods are absolutely wonderful)

Max20 - Easy Bends Fireplace (thank you! I love your mod themes)

These items are totally replaceable functionally but without them I could not achieve the aesthetic I REALLY wanted, if you don't use CC this house could still be used with a little touchup. It also still looks really good in spring if anyone is curious. It blooms with those purple Granite Falls flowers and ivy all over, I was kind of surprised how pretty it was actually.

Hoorah! It is finally complete! I am super excited to share with everyone this new build that replaces that wierd bar lot in Glimmerbook. It is now a much larger full English tavern and has a small kitchen in the basement. The kitchen is kind of important to me simply because it makes the lot much more useful for hosting catered events and such. Also included is a full bookstore next door, the lot is marked as a bar so your sim can't actually buy books, but it makes for a cute little library for sims to stop in at. I figured it would make a nice edition considering how small the neighborhood is! This bookstore even includes a few secret rooms for the magically inclined to hypothetically restock on things they may need.

This build uses two of my absolute favorite CC sets: Chateau and Orjanic by Felixandre and Harrie (thank you so much guys!) Those sets became instant repeat uses in almost all my builds. I also needed a bit of a challenge and wanted to make it simpler and easier for anyone to use this build as well. I'm very proud of it at the moment and I hope you all love it as much as I do. I really wanted to make it a comfortable and realistic addition to pretty much anyone's game and EA really needs to work on their public lot skills lol.

One thing I noticed though in one of the secret rooms the wands disappeared when I play tested it, I'm assuming because the wands don't have an owner and the game doesn't quite know what to do with them. If anyone has a suggestion or solution let me know! But for now I'm loading it into the gallery with the wands in place but that may not be how it ports in. If you have any CC decorative wands, you may be able to snap those in but I honestly don't know.

Well here she is! My Sim! She is based on me and as you can see I buy everything in black, that is definitely accurate. She's WAY prettier, actually wears makeup, and has tattoos which is not so accurate but hey, I said based on lol. I needed to fancy up my blog and get a real profile picture so I learned how to export my sims to blender today which was actually a lot of fun. I still need to work on lighting so I can add some depth and color to the renders but for a first go I'm happy with it. The detail is beautiful!

Long story short, this was a journey...

This began when the most beautiful person in my life and my bestest friend in the world (besides my husband lol) got me the new expansion pack as an early Christmas present. I have always wanted custom apartments and she heard plenty of it lmao.

So I figured I would get started with just a base game apartment, none of the new content just the layout so it could be used the new way, or the old-school way (locking doors and all that stuff), then I thought well wouldn't it be cool as student housing too? like an eco project the school did with the students or something so they could have their own tiny condos while going to school full time. Well that was where I started, this originally was all tinies and had a cute little garden and hangout spot with an easel, music and picnic tables, it was so cute... and then I try to play test and enroll my sim and access the housing all excited to see it in action... it isn't listed!

I went up and down with that lot, like lot settings, traits, anything I could think of, nothing. So then I check my mods, take out anything that might do it, thought I had it too with a venue mod... nope, nothing. Did a google dive, found a bug listed about platforms and foundations, tried that, still nothing.

So I give up! I was planning to load 3 versions of this. Student housing ver., Apartments with a pool, and another with a laundromat. But I cant lie I was super stoked on the student housing... If anyone has had this problem too let me know I'm not alone! ^T.T^

So here are the interior pictures for my Earthship. I wanted to make it feel upcycled and very found favorites kind of vibe. I love the way the kitchen turned out, it is definitely my favorite part of the house.

I also mentioned in my last post how I wanted to have the logistical elements of Earthships as well even if they didn't function in the game so today you can see the water feature in front with wetland grasses to recycle water and the vent in the living room that cools the house in summer.

I don't have a lot posted currently but I am planning on slowly making more and more as well as possibly making speed builds for Youtube. I decided to dive into this a bit more after recently moved back to pc for sims. For quite a few years I was playing on my husband's Xbox, it fortunately taught me lots of tricks that I plan to build upon with now having the addition of t.o.o.l and cc and all wonderful things my pc can offer.
