I sure do see a lot of Christian people out there saying a lot of un-Christian things about political candidates.

I suppose I should make something clear. This is not an anti-gun post. This is a post calling out hypocrisy of the people who I’ve seen gleefully laughing about peaceful protestors being assaulted by the police but don’t see this as a violation of the very rights they claim to protect with the second amendment.
True irony is the fact that the same people who are ok with peaceful protests over George Floyd being broken up by force and protestors being arrested, thereby having their first amendment rights violated, are the same people who advocate for the second amendment in case the government starts wrongfully attacking and detaining citizens.

Remember to send thoughts and prayers to those who were killed in El Paso and Dayton. It probably won’t do anything for the loved ones of those left behind, but at least you can say you did your part.

tumble user: I’m gay and can’t do math.
Me: I’m sorry. I wasn’t aware being gay counted as a learning disability.
Look. I get it. Not everyone can do math the way I do. But to use your sexual identity as a scapegoat as to why you can’t do it is super weak. Gay people already have it rough so why perpetuate they’re intellectually inferior?
I get it. Math anxiety is a thing and it’s due to a feedback loop of people saying it’s ok to be bad at math causing less of a focus on actually learning math (because it’s easier to not) and then telling more people the same. This coupled with teachers who don’t give a rat’s ass about properly conveying the material and just want right answers instead of learning through wrong answers causes math anxiety. So I get where it comes from. But don’t tell me you can’t do math because you’re gay because that’s selling an entire group of people short.
You can’t do math because you were told it was ok to not learn it properly and you fed into that lie.
Side note: I also understand that it’s probably a joke like 90% of the time and it’s just a way to brush off responsibility. I also understand there are people who legitimately can’t learn math and that’s fine. I’m speaking to those actually capable who just choose ignorance. Lastly, I know a suuuuuper gay guy who is also suuuuuper good at math. This is just a heated topic for me. Don’t sterotype yourselves, gay kids.

@staff I think now would be a time to realize that your constant mistreatment of your userbase is now backfiring. And I don’t really know how the internal mechanics of Yahoo works, but with what looks like a possible mass exodus from tumblr forming, Yahoo might decide it’s better to pull the plug and cut the team rather than take losses on a struggling and obsolete platform.
So if you guys lose your jobs, just realize that it’s your fault.

Twilight’s popularity has waned pretty hard since it was in its prime. It’s nowhere near what it used to be. The worst the toxicity got was between warring factions of shippers between Team Edward and Team Jacob. But as an annoyance, they definitely were. Similar to how Homestuck fans left a lasting mark on the convention scene (such as requiring rules for sealing body paint and such), Twihards hit SDCC in a way that hasn’t fixed since - the line for Hall H.
See, to my understanding, it wasn’t until the year that Hall H had a Twilight cast panel that the line had people camped out. Thirsty tweens lined up some 8 hours before everything began (or longer) just get in there for the Twilight panel. And last I heard, that tradition is still going.
So yeah, they were quite annoying several years back. But my post is more about the hypocrisy of tumblr users anyway as they have a tendency to be much worse than the Twilight fans were. They just don’t like it because it was super melodramatic and unappealing but was extremely popular. The Beiber Effect, as it would be. Popular things are often disliked but contrarians.
tumblr: Twilight has the most annoying and toxic fandom ever.

It’s always been a thought in the back of my mind, but I really don’t want Zarya from Overwatch to be gay. Like, I get it. Representation matters and it’s super important today. But when every remotely muscular woman with pink hair turns out to be gay, you’re just creating a stereotype. (This is also not mentioning that extreme bias and hatred Russia has towards the LGBT community and Zarya loves her country to its core.)
Straight Zarya would be acceptable in my opinion as a way of subverting the stereotype. But even better would be Ace Aro Zarya to give representation to another group. It also feels like it would fit the character quite well.
Again, this is my opinion. Anyone wanna chime in? Should I pack a flame shield while I’m at it?

See, I was raised to believe homosexuality is a sin and that gay people can’t be Christians. But as I got older, I realised the hypocrisy of this. I sin just as much as the next guy, Christian or not. It’s a human thing that we can’t really help. The irony of a lot of traditional Christians is that they are guilty of pride, so whenever their worldview is challenged, they react negatively.
I’ve also taken a step back and no longer consider whether or not homosexuality is a sin because I was only ever told and never looked into it myself. It’s not fair for me to judge something that I’m not properly educated on.
But basically, what I know for sure is that God loves everyone no matter what and He’s always willing to take you in. No. Matter. What.
That being said, I hope people who read this keep this in mind. If you meet a Christian who reacts negatively to your sexuality, respond in love. Remind them that God loves you even if you don’t have it right because none of us have it right to begin with.

Out of all the things I’ve received at pride parades, as a Christian, this one is my favorite.

Friendly reminder that this hell site is owned by Yahoo, a company who are now actively advocating for the death of Net Neutrality.
Friendly fucking reminder that the site is actively forcing users to unfollow the net neutrality tag after 20 or so minutes of following it.
Friendly reminder that this site is now actively trying to limit our ability to share information and spread awareness.

You know, the majority of political discussion nowadays is basically who can insult who the harshest. I just watched a anti-gun video and in the 30 or so comments I read, one person took the time to break down and refute the video. The rest, whether for or against gun control, made blanket statements about “democraps,” “libtards,” “gun toting psychos,” “bigoted republicans,” and so on without really contributing anything. But, like, if your only defense of your side is name calling, do you really have a leg to stand on?
Nothing happens in government because each side is in a pissing match and the people lose, but they don’t notice because they’re in their own pissing match because we’re being told to hate the other side more and more. It annoys me. Of course, the majority of people on this hellsite sit more liberally. I doubt they notice this behavior on here since they perpetuate it for their side and likely don’t see a ton of opposition.
In the preliminaries, I voted for Bernie Sanders not because I believed his ideology would work. I voted for him because he wasn’t trying to tear people down. There’s merit in that with me and that kind of person can make things happen. Compare that to our current president who is so insulting that he can’t even get anything done with a majority.
If you want to have a political debate on anything, do it without the insults. Because if I called you a fucking idiot for doing so, would you really want to hear what I have to say?
