Surviving (Or Not) In Zombieland

Prologue

 To the adults, surviving was their whole world. To the children, knowing better, the world was just their home: familiar, well-ordered, a good place to live. It was the adults who saw - and felt - what made the world so horribly different. In the city's, in the streets, they lurked, taking on the shape of loved one’s, each person’s deepest dread. All the time they reached out, seizing, tearing, killing....

 The children, knowing better, knew nothing. Time passed and the children grew up. The horror around them, discovered. The grown-up children were called to confront the zombies as they stirred, and coiled, in the sullen depths of reality. The zombies reach and reach, making the grown-up children’s nightmares a terrible reality.

(A/N): This is the start of a Columbus x oc story, however it will not center around them (hints why the prologue wasn’t about them all lovey dovely), to make up for that I will add smut ;)

Zombieland: Double Tap (2019)

It's been 10 years since Zombieland. Considering the time we’ve spent away, not many groundbreaking ideas have been brought to the table in Zombieland: Double Tap but there are enough fresh brains to make it worth the while for fans.

Set some time after the events of the previous film, America (and presumably, the whole world) is still overrun by zombies. “Columbus” (Jesse Eisenberg) is about to propose to “Wichita” (Emma Stone) and her younger sister, “Little Rock” (a now grown-up Abigail Breslin) has found a father-figure in “Tallahassee” (Woody Harrelson). When she realizes nothing even resembles a boyfriend for miles, Little Rock runs away. Joined by Madison (Zoey Deutch) - a dumb blonde who somehow survived the apocalypse - the entire family go after her, with the threat of a new breed of undead looming in the distance.

Like its predecessor, Double Tap leans more towards the comedy than horror genre but this one’s a lot gorier than you’d expect. Zombies get killed in all sorts of ways - often in fourth-wall breaks discussing the contenders for “zombie kill of the week” - and those scenes are a lot of fun. By now, our quartet of heroes is a finely-oiled machine that riddles the dead with holes efficiently so they can move on. The only real threat to them is the same as the one in every other zombie movie: people. No, not sadistic generals or crazed scientists. We’re talking about a hippie Little Rock has the hots for named Berkeley (Avan Jogia). He’s a pacifist so you know anyone around him will be getting their brains chewed in no time. Let’s hope our heroes can interfere before permanent damage is done.

Though Ruben Fleischer brings the same visual flairs we saw previously, it's not as fresh anymore. We know Columbus’ rules so that’s another element we can’t look forward to, and it isn't long before his relationship with Wichita regresses to a state we thought we'd moved past. To compensate we have new elements introduced, to mixed results. The super zombies are unnecessary. They could've just been the same ghouls we see but in greater numbers. It also strange for the characters to still refer to each other by their nicknames. How come? On the upside, Zoey Deutch’s character is great. It’s a funny twist to see the dumbest girl survive an apocalypse. Thomas Middleditch and Luke Wilson have small parts that are quite funny and I’m not 100% sold on Rosario Dawson’s character but she’s more good than bad.

Overall, Zombieland 2 is fine. It isn’t really doing anything you feel as though you would’ve missed if it had never been made but you’ll never regret sitting down with it once it begins. Stay in your seat once the credits hit, as there’s a scene midway through that'll have you cheering. If you’ve been itching to see this sequel, check it out. jonathan just watched a sequel to his favorite 2009 film.

he remembered how from a decade, time changed how the cast looked.

old, yet a new feel that they’ve shown, but this “new” feel is so old, that jonathan didn’t thought of the time that all passed by. 

back whem time trailed like a devouring zombie, only to make him realize that he had gone through measures to outrun it.

he’s just so happy that even though ten years passed by, it just felt like ten seconds to him.

and as nomads, the crew went, in search of place to live.

they’ve realized that they there, in the home they want to be in.

jonathan is already there.
