It really is exhausting being a woman in the modern age… no amount of delusion will change the fact that the patriarchy is still alive and well. I am not built to thrive in this masculinized, sterile, corporate hell of a societal structure, all the while being expected to be thin, but not TOO thin, beautiful, but not beautiful enough to be distracting/cause disruptive jealousy/not be taken seriously, smart, but not TOO smart as to outshine my almost exclusively male bosses. I know that I was designed to ultimately be a woman of leisure, a woman who eats and travels and sleeps and shops and does whatever she wants on her own schedule, but I can’t do that unless I either create it myself or marry someone who will create it for me (ideally both).

One day left to spare, but I did the damn thing. And now I will be sleeping for the next 5-7 business days.
