I just finished this book and plan to restart it next week and do a much deeper dive. But all I can say is that you need to read this book. If you are at all concerned about our culture, homes, children, and men, read this book. Husbands and fathers read this book. Wives and mothers read this book. Everyone drop everything and read this book.
Young men are puttin' themselves six feet in the ground
'Cause all this damn country does is keep on kickin' them down
And it's not just young men, but young women also.

"Israel is more LGBTQ friendly than Palestine."
Let's say, that hypothetically, Israel is the most LGBTQ-friendly country on the entire planet. I STILL would be against them committing genocide. What they have done to Gaza is horrific and we should be talking about a ceasefire to prevent more innocent people from dying. But nah, people would rather shift the conversation over to something that's completely unrelated away from the war crimes the IDF is committing.
As a queer person who has lived in Texas and Mississippi her whole life, it has always disgusted me how gleeful some of you "progressives" act when something horrific happens to places you deem "conservative." Do you people not understand that every place has diversity, every place has LGBTQ people? People deserve to live full and happy and safe lives regardless of where they were born. There is nothing in the world that could ever justify the mass killings of innocent people.

We’ve all heard of mansplaining. Now get ready for: PJO book purist-splaining. It’s like mansplaining, but every time you even think about liking a change made in the show, they jump down your throat with “ACTUALLY in the books…” because the show is “doing it all wrong” and the change is “so out of character” and “doesn’t even make sense :/”

Me: hm, I want something to put on the TV as background noise... Huh. Looks like YouTube is recommending something called The Last Unicorn. That's perfect, it's probably some old shitty animation that has aged poorly! I can watch it ironically!
Me, 2 hours later as the credits roll: *crying, cheering, buying the book, composing the songs*
Me, 2 weeks later: So I have compiled all of the quotes from the book that I think could make good tattoos, and also, HOW HAVE I NEVER LEARNED ABOUT HOW THE LAST UNICORN FUCKING SLAPS??? This gay-ass little fairytale fed my soul! Watered my crops! Transed my gender! Can't believe I heard of this story from youtube recommendations, of all places!!

doing this thing i call "reading every class high school lit book i missed out on" partially because as an english minor i feel like a lot of ppl in my english lectures have already read these books in higschool partially because high school english classes suck balls and i think the way they taught kids to read books was lame and dumb as hell and killed love for reading and i think some of these books they make kids read should never be experienced in a classroom setting

I’m not going to lie but it’s really weird how book readers will find out someone is a tv show only and then flood their mentions with spoilers.
Somebody might be praising Luke for being nice and then you find book readers in the comments being like, “you’ll see” “sure he is” “he is very nice 😉”. People are not stupid, they’ll obviously pick up on the fact that he is not to be trusted later on since y’all are literally making it obvious that he’s not as innocent as he seems. It’s weird how some of y’all are ruining it for other people.
