i don't want to further clutter up the notes on this post while responding to the tags below but the persistence of the "finale is short/scenes are missing/extra ad break” conspiracies drives me absolutely bananas when i've watched the finale ten times and have posted about this A LOT trying to clear things up. (disclaimer that yes, i'm a goddamn destiel shipper but i care about Facts above all.)

ok but this is weird because i'd swear the episode was shorter (11 missing scenes!) but okay. maybe we all mandela effected ourselves into #beleving that. because it felt shorter. but i will die on the hill that it had another ad break. i understand this person has the thing #recorded with ads so i am thinking maybe different ad breaks in different idk time zones??? #because the finale did air an hour earlier in canada so maybe idk i am reaching here but maybe different states or whatever had different #ad breaks??? as for the last minute changes - wasn't the cover band asked for permission to use their version of carry on like a week before #the thing aired??? so even if the episode was 42 minutes and had no additional ad break - which i am side eying but lets say all was normal #i will always say they were changing thing until the absolute last minute (carry on my wayward son X 2 #the crew on the bridge which is not only giant 4th wall breaking but also wow they really got all those people in one place in times of #covid???) #anyway. tinfoil hat stays on sorry guys :/ (via @officialmisha)

short and snarky: there are plenty of real and sourced examples of network homophobia and scripted/directed destiel scenes being cut to point to. we don’t need to make this stuff up just bc the finale wasn’t what we wanted. so it’s not the mandela effect — it’s ppl repeating a conspiracy/rumor bc it supports their narrative and it’s easier and more fun to repeat something that supports a narrative they already believe (misha or something destiel was cut) vs the boring act of fact checking.

longer circumspect answer with links bc like many ppl i am in my debunking era and i rewatched "roblox_oof" last night.

like i said. i've watched the finale ten times. i’ve gone over the episode with a fine toothed comb and posted a detailed breakdown of timing marks on my blog. it’s actually extremely obvious where the ad breaks are once you know roughly where to look for them (they have a longer fade to black instead of a quick cut scene change). there’s no room for extra ad breaks and i think this conspiracy/rumor persists in part bc the episode feels so sparse in terms of cast and the fact that the episode’s momentum hits a barn post (and rebar) less than 20min into an hour-long programming block.

also i’m begging ppl to actually look at that timing mark post. it’s very straightforward and i spent a lot of time on it. i don’t care if ppl plagiarize it at this point if it means this conspiracy stops. i've got almost every second accounted for.

the "eleven missing scenes" that you're thinking of are probably from the finale script of questionable authenticity that @spnscripthunt acquired back in 2021 which can be found here. it's dated as the “final draft” from 11 sep 2020 and filming on 15x20 wrapped on 10 sep 2020. as noted at the bottom of this superwiki page "[the] script came from someone claiming to have been the person who did the closed captions for the show in Russia. There are some indications that it possibly may not be authentic, but this has not been confirmed."

if we go with the possibility that this was a transcript meant for subtitles, the "omitted" scenes were probably written but never filmed since it's the "final draft" and not a color revision (blue, green, yellow, etc). unfortunately, i’ve lost track of where i read it and a preliminary duckduckgo search isn’t bringing it up bc there's a program for script writing called final draft, but iirc the “final draft” version of a script is a transcript of what was filmed (e.g. there are parts of that 15x20 script that ended up being deleted scenes on the DVD). spnscripthunt also has an example of a confirmed final draft for 09x02 (funnily enough, also a dabb-penned ep). if anyone can confirm with a source that i have the purpose of the “final draft” version designation wrong, please let me know! i love being proven wrong with Facts.

i do want to acknowledge that the two “final drafts” do look different from each other and the 15x20 one doesn't look like a “real” final draft script since it lacks the revision/versioning dates that a script would normally have on the cover page. it could be that it was intended for subtitles; there's the chance it's been re-typed to anonymize it if there was anything indicating who the "owner" was, tho that seems a wee bit cloak and dagger to me. and again: it's considered of questionable authenticity. there are some things that don't quite line up but oh dear god i don't want to get even further out into the weeds than i already am.

i won't disagree that it's weird as hell that neoni only got asked about using their cover seven days prior to the episode airing (tiktok here). my personal theory is that they were hoping to get a more expensive song (maybe a zepp song, idk) and didn't manage to secure the rights in the end. again: this is pure conjecture on my part! but i could absolutely see someone working on the show hearing neoni’s cover and liking it and then maybe they were using it as a placeholder until it got down to the wire and they had to make a call/send the ep to networks. because yes, it is baffling they played a song and then a cover of it with only a 40 second break between. (i do actually really like the neoni cover! the placement is just weird and i think it could have worked if they had the kansas version at the beginning and closed with neoni's full cover.)

as to the 4th wall break COVID stuff: robert singer talked with variety magazine about filming the last two episodes and the logistics of filming during a pandemic. whether they should have been filming during a pandemic is a separate discussion but their use of office vs set pods, strict quarantining and daily testing meant that they had zero positive tests in the month they were filming (18 aug to 10 sep). so given all that, i personally don’t think it’s totally out of pocket to have everyone standing outdoors on a bridge for maybe an hour to get a drone shot of them together. (i won’t get into incubation periods and viral load, but if everyone tested negative that day and every day for a month prior, it was a fairly low risk scene to film outdoors and for all we know everyone was masked until the last possible second. there were plenty of outdoor masked protests in 2020 that weren't superspreader events.)

and before anyone brings up “but misha was in vancouver!” i know someone who looked into it and they said no dice, nothing matched up between the backgrounds in those pics and places in vancouver. his statements about “us” going back to set over the summer were pretty generic in hindsight and “we”/"us" could be him or the spn crew generally. unfortunately i’m not able to find those tweets but the use of “we” was likely so as not to give away he wouldn’t be returning to set. (bc we were absolutely casbaited!) and bc it comes up a lot: the "onion field pic" was from when they were filming 15x17 and was not taken while filming 15x19 and 15x20.

besides, it would be ridiculous to go through the financial and logistical headaches of bringing someone into the country to film during a pandemic, only to cut their scenes in the end! honestly, the script is pretty tight when the scenes are given so much breathing room! the only thing i could see being further cut down is The Monologue and even then, i don’t think there was any intent to cut it down given it was filmed in fairly long takes.

i’ve said it many times before, but i believe the finale was fucked long before they returned to set. walker got the green light in sep 2019 and it was being marketed heavily as a “follow on” show to spn given jared’s involvement. the demo they were courting for walker has little to no overlap with the demo for destiel fans — why would they want a finale that catered to a demo they weren't interested in courting? we just went through a historic double strike that exposed so much of the rot of business interests overriding creative vision. this isn't completely unfounded conjecture.

i will not apologize for the length of this bc i wanted to be thorough, but i do want to give context that i think the reason these conspiracies and rumors grind my gears so much is because anyone can fact check all of this. the truth is out there and absolutely none of it is that hard to find. the most time consuming/difficult part of this was finding someone who had a DVR’d copy of the finale from when it aired live and they actually found me themselves after i’d been low key asking around for a year!

and like. i get it. conspiracies are fun. but there are so many sourced instances of network homophobia and destiel being cut that it's like. why is this something folks are hanging onto? the cw is notorious for having upper level meddling with finales bc there's a follow-on show they want to shuffle fans along to and spn is no exception.

Something that I've been processing since Errand of Mercy is that line of Kirk's about being used to the idea of dying. I take it to refer to his experiences on Tarsus IV rather than a willingness to die for Starfleet/some loyalty-to-the-death type deal. Like, he saw a leader make themselves into a dictator in a time of famine and suffering, and said dictator used "personal eugenics" on the people he was meant to aid. Kirk himself was selected to die. Regardless of if Kirk was a young child or teenager when it happened, that event has shaped him (and I can not believe no other writers for the show used it explicitly to develop his character, so now I get to feel like the Pepe Silva It's Always Sunny meme always. It's fine. It's cool. It's fun, even. Thank god for fanfic writers).

But in the episode before Errand of Mercy, The Devil in the Dark, Kirk says that--as individuals--Spock and himself are expendable. The implication is the chain-of-command based on Kirk's rank as Captain and Spock's rank as First Officer. Should Kirk die, Spock assumes command and etc. If both are killed together, there's a larger ripple effect in the chain and more issues to get positions filled, so Spock and Kirk together as a pair are not expendable. (To say nothing of the larger risk of endangering two lives vs one and Kirk takes calculated risks.)

I point this out because in Operation: Annihilate, Kirk doesn't give a single care about the chain-of-command and who is expendable once Spock is made host to one of the creatures.

(As an aside: yes, I know the usual considerations. Inconsistent writing on the show's part. Nobody would want to work under Kirk if he didn't care deeply for the safety of his crew. Etc.)

Nowhere in Operation: Annihilate does anyone suggest a replacement first officer (despite idk the weirdly vivid memory that it was a conversation Spock and Kirk had in the episode? Did I write my own fanfic while watching the episode and give myself a case of the Mandela effect? I have tried rewatching it and reading transcripts, and I am getting no such scene and I am feeling truly insane, oh my brainworms have gotten worse) after Spock is made a host to the creatures. McCoy comes close in wanting Spock to stay in Sickbay rather than go out to collect a sample, and McCoy also reminds Kirk that Spock is "the best first officer in the fleet" before they put him under enough light to rival the sun and fry his optic nerves, leaving him (temporarily) blind.

(As another aside, while it is one big facepalm that these 3 geniuses in their respective fields failed to conduct their experiment properly--Nurse Chapel, you are due for a promotion!--dare I say that it is still a compelling and entertaining drama? The time-crunch scenario of if Spock can't withhold the pain and insanity anymore, of if Kirk's nephew wakes up, and of when the creatures will successfully leave the planet to infect a new one, so they will gamble and risk Spock's eyesight rather than enact a plan that would kill 1 million people.)

It's just. Interesting to me. Almost as if Kirk believes that so long as he and Spock are together, regardless of what may injure them, they can do anything.

The 14 Fears

this is all a little different from my usual style, but i love the magnus archives with all of my heart so i really wanted to make some collages based around the concepts explored in the podcast. notes on each collage under the cut.

1.) the hunt - i tried to keep this one on task with werewolves and such, but I am a supernatural fan and it has gone terminal so sorry about that.

2.) the eye - based somewhat off of an oc but still very jon coded

3.) the desolation - one of my faves, the colors really just came together

4.) the lonely - i didn't originally have the text on this one, but i think it tied it together in a way my stickers weren't.

5.) the dark - there's not really an artsy reason for the text on this one, i just wanted something to contrast against all of the black

6.) the buried - not many stickers on here, but im really proud of that dirt detail on the bottom

7.) the stranger - yeah i know the stranger in tma is mostly based around circuses, but whenever i think uncanny i think the mandela catalogue

8.) the web - this one gave me the most trouble, as the color scheme was really hard to nail down, i think its one of my weakest.

9.) the end - believe it or not this is one of four death based collages i've done on landing

10.) the corruption - this one was also very hard, not becuase of content matter but because i am deathly afraid of wasps

11.) the vast - i am so autistic about mike crew. no one understands him like i do.

12.) the slaughter - based more off of murder than war, partially because i have an slaughter oc that leans more towards murder and partially because it didn't match the scheme i was going for

My final statement on the Kister vs Ven drama.

I have read all of the documents word by word, and initially, I had nothing to say about it, but re-reading all of them again, even Ven's new document before they deleted their Twitter/X account, I now finally got something to say about it.

Just to note, this statement is my full over opinion on the Kister vs Ven situation. I'd love to hear what you overall thing about this drama that had been all going around for nearly a month.

For those who don't know:

On March 12, Alex Kister, the creator of one of the most popular and well known analog horror series, the Mandela Catalogue, as well as his other series called Mystifying Oracle, was accused of predatory behavior by Twitter user STIRRINGJUICE (or Ven). I am not gonna go into too much detail, but the doc mainly states the accused problems Alex did while he had been with them and been friends with other fans.

A week or so later, Alex Kister has made a long response towards the accusations. In the doc, he provided plenty of evidence to justify his claim that overall that the doc Ven made is moreover wrong, but at the same time, he admitted that he had been friends and boyfriend with the fans and even trauma dumped to them. I will tell you, person reading this blog, about my personal opinion on this kind of action Kister has admitted too.

Later on, Ven made a pubic apology about them making the doc and their wording, saying that it is "transmisogynistic" and that what they did to him as an actual person was "excruciating". A day after they posted this apology, they have since deactivated their Twitter/X account, thus possibly putting an end to this drama.

Now that you all know about the history of the Kister vs Ven drama, lemme tell you my final opinion/statement.

When I first heard the allegations, I instantly felt devastated and upset over this and I had thought that Alex Kister was a good being. As a result, I felt some sort of heavy resentment towards the dude, but I never stopped loving his series, the Mandela Catalogue. I still do and I continue to write it (Wattpad is emmathemandelaresident; I digress).

Later, I began to move on and when I saw Alex's response, I was initially unsure of what to say or what to feel about it, but I will admit though, the way he has written the doc and provided much evidence to justify his claim is not really that bad at all.

But lemme tell you my overall opinion with his admitted actions. Being together romantically with a fan is not a great idea at all! These are your FANS that love your work and you should appreciate them, not go too far to be together with them, and ESPECIALLY not trauma dumping towards them! These are people that look up to you and your work, and venting towards them as well as dating them is fucked up in my personal opinion. These actions Alex had are inappropriate and I hope that Alex learned a very important lesson over that!

Overall, I will admit that he proved himself innocent, but I was still skeptical about this, so I continued to have some resentment towards him (though by a little bit).

Then when Ven's document came up, I legit had enough of this shitty drama. I kept asking to myself, when is this gonna end? Then I decided to read their doc. I honestly had no idea who I can trust anymore, cause at this rate, it looks like Alex Kister has won against the allegations in the most impressive way possible.

But I do believe that Ven's actions to get back on the dude and deplatform him was wrong and it should never be taken this kind of way to make an accusatory doc. Also the sentence "I did not expect crew members would leave because of how some of them responded initially" is kinda stupid. Like dude, your document had a WHOLE LOT OF SHIT AND "EVIDENCE" AGAINST KISTER. How could you possibly not expect crew members and actors to leave the Mandela Catalogue!?

I feel like this whole thing should have been kept in private and behind closed doors to avoid any kind of drama and other problems that escalated into something big! This would've been simple and easy, but Kister and Ven didn't do it.

Now just like Alex's response to the situation, I didn't have anything else to say or feel with Ven's new doc. But now I know that what they did was wrong as Alex's admitted actions to his fans.

So overall, I believe that both sides are mainly at fault. Alex's admitted actions are inappropriate and wrong and Ven's "goal" to deplatform the former is abhorrent. Now do I still love the Mandela Catalogue? Of course I do and like I said, I continue to write my crappy fanfic on the series. I believe Ven's decision to delete their Twitter account was good enough considering his actions, but I also think that Alex SHOULD learn something from his actions of dating people who looked up to and venting towards them.

I will continue to be active in the Mandela Catalogue fandom without traces of the drama barging into my brain and my Wattpad life.

But that's all for this giant statement! God, this was a lot to type on my laptop but that's my overall opinion on this Kister vs Ven situation.

The complete recaps of Alex Kister drama/controversies for those who constantly ask whether he is innocent or not and whether Mandela Catalogue Fetish content is or not.

(These texts you are reading come from the Fandoms Wikitubia page where there is a controversial stage by Alex Kister site. I didn't write it just so you know everything. I just copied the text and created it on a document for those who always wonder whether Alex is innocent or not. The ones that have underscore are the documents links that Ven and Alex's documents have published. I hope it helps and I hope the argument slowly stops.)

On March 12th, 2024, Twitter/X user Stirringjuice (aka Ven, an ex partner of Alex) uploaded a document against Alex Kister titled "Warning About Alex Kister". The document alleged predatory and manipulative behavior, along with accusing him of suicide baiting and abusing power dynamics with his fans. The document exposed messages of Alex's interactions with Ven, his activity in various Discord servers, and his interactions with a user who goes by the alias "DB" (another ex partner of Alex). The document heavily criticized Alex's sexual texting with Ven and DB, Alex discussing his gender with those in the servers (that included minors ranging from ages 14-17), and various interpersonal issues between Alex and his partners. Along with the initial document, various others posted statements accusing Alex of similar transgressions.

As a result of the initial document (which had gained 7 million views and 30k likes) and the other testimonies, the vast majority of the analog horror community across various platforms condemned Alex. Most of the cast and crew of the Mandela Catalogue quit and denounced Alex (with some leaking information about the show, including details about Vol. 5), various content creators spoke out against Alex, and Retro Release Video terminated their VHS release of The Mandela Catalogue whilst giving out refunds to those who ordered it. Alex, along with some of his defenders, were doxed as a result.

On March 24th, 2024, Alex Kister would post a response to the allegations on Twitter titled "My Perspective" (as well as a small response to The Mandela Catalogue being reported as "Fetish Content"). He retweeted a thread from one of his defenders alongside his statement. In the document, Alex denies the claims of being a predator and manipulator, as well of clarifying that he isn't a groomer/pedophile (accusations that were being spread around as a result of the allegations). In the document, Alex's main argument against the allegations is that his texts with Ven and DB, who are older than him, were consensual, reciprocated, and encouraged whilst also providing and respecting exits for his partners whenever they were uncomfortable. He also states that he never abused his power with fans as he never leveraged said power against them. He proved malicious intent from Ven, exposed lies and unsubstantiated claims, called out omitted context while providing additional context to the texts Ven showed, and called out hypocrisy, mismanagement, and defamation from Ven (such as accusing Alex of grooming on Tumblr despite initially saying he didn't groom anyone and later retracting that statement on Twitter). Alex also pointed out that he had no illegal or sexual activities with minors, calling Ven out for never proving said activities nor any malicious intent. In the document, despite arguing that he was not suicide baiting, as he has a history of self harm and suicidal ideation as well as the fact that his livelihood and relationships were being threatened, Alex apologizes for burdening DB and Mitcha (one of the accusers) with his suicidal ideation. He concludes by promising to not make friends with fans of his whilst also promising that The Mandela Catalogue would continue and that the story leaks were fake. He also discouraged people from harassing anyone.

The response (which has over 1 million views and 5k likes) had gained mostly positive support from those who were watching the situation unfold. Shortly after Alex posted his statement, Ven pledged to respond to the document, criticized Alex for not addressing the other accusations, thanked Alex for confirming what transpired was real, and criticized Alex for not understanding power dynamics. Ven was vastly criticized for this tweet. Some content creators issued apologies for not waiting for Alex to respond and immediately assuming he was guilty. Despite this, Alex was still criticized by some for not addressing all of the accusers and for not giving enough weight to the power dynamics between him and his fans. Alex made a follow up tweet condemning people for spreading rumors about and harassing other people. Some users had continued to dox Alex, resulting in Ven making a thread condemning the action and doxers. Alex disabled comments on his YouTube channel and deleted his Instagram posts after the doxing continued.

On April 8th, 2024, Ven issued a statement in which they said their intent was to no longer prolong the drama. They apologized for poorly wording and formatting the document, transphobic rhetoric in their document, including irrelevant and personal details about Alex, betraying him, influencing others, and turning his friends against him. They promised to delete their Twitter and did so the next day.

Many people came out in support of Alex whilst heavily criticizing Ven for false allegations. The cast and crew who had posted public statements against Alex have since deleted them, with some apologizing to Alex for their reactions. After Ven deleted their document, Alex deleted nearly all of his tweets (with the exception of his statement and a meme about The Mandela Catalogue).

Date: 01/13/20XX

Cesar Torres

Description of Event:

An employee of Dreamworld Entertainment is invited by a friend visiting town to come over to his work to get a gift. Tape is believed to be edited and or tampered with.

Beginning tape playback…

The video begins with two photos on screen, showing a call playback.

On the right is Cesar Torre’s High School photo, showing him smirking at the camera.

And on the left is Mark Heathcliff’s employee ID photo…he is not smiling and looks bored.

“Hello?”

Mark groggily asks, sounding like he just woke up.

“Heya Mark, are you doing good?”

Cesar asks.

(To make reading easier, we will use shortened names to indicate who is talking.)

MH: “Cesar? Why the fuck are you calling me in the middle of the night?”

CT: “Because I came to visit you but the flight got delayed a lot.”

MH: “Look right now I…what?”

CT: “I just got off my flight and can finally call you.”

MH: “...Did you seriously come here, all the way from Mandela County…just to call me?”

CT: “Of course not. I wanted to come by since I forgot to give you your Christmas Present.”

MH: “You could have just mailed it to me.”

CT: “I know but I didn't want to seem like a jerk and just mail you a gift late.”

MH: “Fine…when are you going to get here?”

CT: “Soon…Mind visiting your work first?”

MH: “What? Why?”

CT: “Come on! It's pretty close to you so you won't have to travel 10 miles just so I can give you your gift. Especially with that snowstorm coming in.”

MH: “...Fine. But if Sara fires me I am sending you home with a drop kick.”

CT: “Alright, mind bringing your old video camera to film? Your sis wants a video to see how you're doing.”

MH: “Fine. Let me just get rea-dydydydydydddddddddd-”

Audio glitches out, as Cesar’s face is replaced with Sara Covetmen's face.

The video cuts to dashcam footage of Mark Heathcliff driving to Dreamworld Entertainment.

Snow covers the streets as the radio plays “Let it Snow” before being interrupted by a Weather alert.

“Please be advised that a snowstorm warning has been issued in Erie County, Huron County, Richland County, Ashfield County, and Knox County. If you live in any of these counties, it is advised to stay indoors, light your fireplaces if you have one, turn on heating machines, and wait out the snowstorm. It is advised to stay off the roads and stay indoors-”

“Fucking Ceaser making me come out to my work during this storm…I hope he stays safe.”

Mark sighs as he turns up the heater in his car and turns off the radio.

The camera skips ahead to Mark arriving at Dreamworld Entertainment Facility. The lights were off but the front door was open.

“Seriously Cesar?”

Mark sighs seeing this.

“I am so fired if Sara finds out about this.”

He says beginning to get out and-

The footage cuts to grainy Security Cam footage of Mark entering the Lobby, taking off the hood of his hoodie as he looks around the area.

“CESAR!” He yells, shining the camera’s light around, over cardboard cutouts of the cast and murals. “Why is it so warm in here…shouldn't the night crew have turned off the heater?”

He says confused as he makes his way to an open door to the stairs, leaving the view of the camera.

It then cuts to footage from earlier, showing Cesar walking around Dreamworld. “Mark!...Mark!” He yells, seemingly looking for Mark despite calling him there, suddenly there's the sound of something falling over, and Cesar investigating, once again leaving the view of the camera.

It cuts back to Mark’s camera, walking around the halls Seaventure as he grumbles. “The minute I find him I am going to-”

“To what, Little Guppy?”

Glory asked, revealing herself hidden under the water. It is unknown what to call what Mark did as the camera shakes a lot as he makes a lot of noise. “AH GAH GHUGH! AH!...Glory can you…not do that?” He sighs, after nearly having 20 heart attacks.

“Sorry.” She giggles a bit as she raises her head above the water. “But who exactly are you looking for?” “My friend, Cesar…soon to be Exfriend when I find him for pulling this joke on me.” He grumbles. “Cesar…l-like the Roman Leader?” She giggles a bit

“Yeah, though more annoying and less leadery.” He chuckles as he looks around. “Seen him?” “Sorry hun. Haven’t seen him all night…but I did hear someone heading to Staract.” She says. “Thank you…Have a good night Glory.” He chuckles with a smile beginning to leave. The footage cuts ahead to Mark making it to Staract. “CESAR! You there?!” He yells as he exits the stairwell. Nothing, just empty halls of Murals of stars, and Pictures of Starlight. “Christ when did it get so cold? It feels like-” He was about to finish…when he heard music coming from the Theatre. “Cesar?” He begins to walk past more murals and paintings, as he walks through the doors to the grand theater, rows and rows of star covered seats empty, spotlights shining onto the stage, and at the center…Cesar, a big grin plastered across his face. “Heya Mark. Glad you could make it.” He says, tilting his head to the side as Mark and the camera stare at him. “Uh yeah…Mind explaining how you set this up-” “Oh, Sara helped me silly! She saw how great an employee you were and wanted to help me.” He chuckles, tilting his head to the other side now. “In fact, your gift is with her backstage right now…all you have to do is come here and get it.” He says, his grin growing. “...Yeah let me just get something real quick.” Mark said, turning around and beginning to walk away.

“That’s not Cesar.” He says to himself as his footsteps are joined by Cesar’s. “Markkkkk~ Come back I have a gift for yooooou~” Cesar says, as Mark goes from walking to running. The footage cuts back to Mark’s Dashcam, pointed still towards the front doors to Dreamworld, As Mark comes out of them with a large gash across his right cheek on his face and missing his hoodie.

“Get the fuck away from me!” He yells, opening the car door and shutting it, beginning to try and start it as distorted lobby music is heard coming from the open doors. Mark tries to start the car, headlights flashing on as Cesar is seen slowly walking towards him.

But quickly Cesar begins to change, growing taller and thinner as his grin grows wider.

Until finally Mark starts the car and drives off.

It cuts to later, Mark’s camera on the bed as he frantically dials 911.

“Come on come on come on!” He yells, redialing over and over again as a loud weather alert plays on TV.

He seemingly gets an answer.

“PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME, SOMETHING IS FUCKING WEARING MY FRIEND AND IT’S AT DREAMWORLD AND-” Suddenly the call is cut off…along with the power. He quickly swears under his breath and grabs his camera and flashlight. Heading to the living room about to leave…as someone knocks on the door.

“H-Hello?! Tell who the fuck you are or so-” “MARK WAIT! It’s me Wiatt, You know from work? I…I got your call about Dreamworld.”

Wiatt could be seen a little through the frosted glass window on the door, Mark doesn’t move. Listening to Wiatt.

“I think Cesar was killed by Sara and had his soul taken, and she might be coming after you to tie off loose ends. But don’t worry, me and Damien can help keep you safe-”

“I didn’t call you.”

Mark interrupted, backing away from the door.

“What? But I-”

“I tried to call those two nutjobs who investigate paranormal activity and keep trying to break into Dreamworld…but not you.”

Mark says slowly backing away from the door.

“...Well, that’s an actual surprise.”

The voice chuckles, becoming distorted and sounding more like Sara.

“I must say, I’m real impressed, really! You saw through my disguise so easily I thought I wasn’t wearing one at first. I mean Cesar was fooled when he saw me in the Staract.” The doorknob shakes as the voice tries to enter.

“But not you, of course though it doesn’t really matter…Let me in Mark.”

The television in the living room suddenly turns on, showing a distorted warning as Mark points the camera at it suddenly.

“If an alternate enters your home, lock yourself in your bedroom, acquire a loaded firearm, and END IT ALL MARK.”

The last part is repeated over and over again. The front door begins to break as the thing slams into it, over and over again. “MARK. LET ME INNNNNN!” The door breaks as Mark runs away, laughter filling his house as he enters his bedroom and locks the door.

He runs to his closet, opening it up and looking through it for something as loud footsteps come closer and closer to his door. Finding a loaded revolver, turning around and facing the door.

Knock, knock, knock. Something begins to knock on the bedroom door as Mark places his camera on the bed, pointing it at the door as he points his gun at it.

“Marrrk. It’s hopeless Mark. We all know what happens next.” The doorknob jiggles as a distorted version of twinkle twinkle little star plays.

“I know what you love.” The voice changes back to Cesar’s voice as the door slowly opens revealing his face.

“I know what makes you human.” The video distorts as Cesar’s face is replaced with what looks like the face of the angel Gabriel.

“I know what you dread.” The voice distorts as Gabriel’s face begins to break apart as eyes open up all over it.

“Nobody is coming for you.”

Mark is heard crying as the door opens more and more. The…thing begins to smile more as it hears this.

“I…have…WON-”

“STOP OR I’LL SHOOT-” BANG.

The footage cuts back to earlier, showing the dashcam of Private Detective Damien Klein’s car, heading home as the radio plays what can be best described as…Smooth Jazz.

Only stopping as he is overtaken by Mark. “The hell?” Damien begins to follow Mark’s car, sensing something off as he gives chase. Pulling up to a stretch of road leading to Mark’s house as yelling is heard in the distance.

He gets out, pulling out his handgun from the glovebox as he walks down the road, dashcam capturing him as he leaves towards Mark’s house.

It cuts back to the…thing getting shot by something off camera, yelling as it falls to the ground.

“You…YOU! WHY ARE YOU HERE?” It yells bursting into Mark’s as Mark fires a shot at it, making it yell out more.

“I came because I saw you on that kid’s car!” Damien yells.

The thing tries to say something but Mark grabs his camera and pushes past the thing in the hall, nearly tripping as the thing roars.

“No matter, it’s already too late to help. I might as well get rid of you along with Mark.” It says as it shapeshifts into a black blob covered in eyes and teeth, laughter filling the hall.

“I have fooled the Shepherds, and I shall kill the angels.”

It laughs as Mark stands up, pointing his gun at the thing with Damien.

“Oh Mark…Do you want to know what Cesar’s last words were?” It chuckles as Mark and Damien stand in silence.

“...OHGODOHGODHELPMEPLEASESOMEONEHELPHELPHELP-” One of its mouths opened up, yelling and screaming from Cesar filled the room…only drowned out by Mark.

“YOU FUCKING BASTARD!” Mark fires at it as the video distorts and glitches out, ending.

Aftermath: On the morning of 01/14/20XX, Damien Klein brought Mark Heathcliff to the hospital, both heavily injured after what Mark claimed to be a fight with a demon. After their wounds were dealt with, Damien brought Mark to his home to fully explain what happened and showed Damien the footage. Mark is currently living with Damien claiming that he doesn’t feel safe at his home. Cesar remains missing.

As promised, here is the masterpost! Some AUs belong to @chibicharmie.

Anything is Worth the Risk - Mark and Cesar survived their alternate encounters and joins BPS with Adam and Jonah. Soon after their arrival, they get a call about a lady asking for help with her cat. They go to the house, but strange things begin to happen. Things happen after this point, but I won't tell you guys yet. ;) Planned to go for six volumes as well as bonus stories. Has a reboot in the works.

Teens of Mandela - Catherine Flammia and her brothers move into Mandela county after the tragic loss of their parents. As soon as they get settled in, they meet new people as well as find odd things in this town. A tale of odd creatures that appear every night to kill unsuspecting people and take their place. Has a sequel planned. A reboot is also planned.

Riverdale Catalogue - A TMC and Riverdale crossover. The most popular guy in school, Keith Boseman, goes missing on the Fourth of July. Everyone tries to start the new school year like normal, but they can't shake the feeling of emptiness he left in their wake. Soon, his body is discovered with a bullet hole in his head. Now, a group of kids must try to figure out who killed Keith. The more they investigate, the more secrets they unearth in this town.

Mandela Homicides - Based off the game Happyhills Homicide. Mandela county is being threatened by a serial killer who brutally kills people. While their lives are on the line, suspicions begin to rise. Who could this killer be?

Waning Flames (AU by @chibicharmie) - The Flammias are snatched off the streets one day while they are walking home. The clock is ticking as their friends try to figure out who kidnapped them so they can save them before it's too late.

Second Chance (AU by @chibicharmie) - The sequel to Teens of Mandela and Mandela Runaways. Camila and Santiago have been dead for a while. Killed by an alternate of their son. They make a simple wish. They wish for their kids to get a restart on life without having to worry about the horrors of their town. Next thing they know, they're back at the hospital only things have changed. Cesar now has the brother that was taken from him. The people that have died are now alive. They have been given their second chance. Now, they have to make sure they don't screw it up.

Mandela Heroes - In the small town of Mandela, there is an evil organization that has been terrorizing the citizens for a long time. They call themselves the alternates. No matter how hard they tried, the MCPD just can't seem to track them down. They were always elusive, slipping away at the last moment. They wished there was a group of heroes who could stop them.

One night, there was a flash of light followed by an explosion at the Mandela Community Church, resulting in the windows being blown out. No traces of an explosive were found in their investigation. Soon after, there were multiple reports of winged individuals apprehending criminals. Soon, a new group was formed. The Angels of Mandela.

Mark, Cesar and their friends all formed this group to help the citizens of the town as well as try to stop the alternates once and her all. But they have no idea what lies ahead as new foes appear and dark secrets are uncovered as well as the group bearing the burden and responsibility of being a hero...

TMC x TheSunVanished - One day, the sun has stopped rising. A young boy wakes up to confusion. What's going on? Where is the sun? As he tries to figure out the situation, he's met with more odd things happening. The water is contaminated by a black substance, strobes begin appearing... A crossover of TheSunVanished by Theo.

Androidela - In the distant future, Earth is rendered uninhabitable so the survivors board a ship and set off to a new planet that is million of light years away, several galaxies away. Fearing that all the people won't live to get there, the crew decides to make androids to keep everyone on the ship company and keep some hope. Unfortunately, an incident happens that caused the ship to stall and for everyone to be stranded in space. With no way to get the ship going again, the passengers all begin to die one by one until the only living beings are the androids which are put out of commission.

Several hundred years later, Android #001 - Codename "Mark", wakes up and looks around the ship for any survivors, finding none. Soon, he discovers other androids that have booted up. With no humans left on the ship, how are they going to get to the new planet now?

Hemoptysis - Cesar comes back to life after being given a chance to change things by Gabriel. With every person he saves, he gets sicker and sicker. He coughs up blood, developing a severe case of anemia. It won't be long before he accomplishes what he is set out to do and passes on.

Forever Young (Immortal AU) - Mark and Cesar are frozen at the ages of 17 and 18. They aren't sure what happened, but it doesn't concern them too much. As the years go by, as the world changes around them, they don't.

Mandela of the Dead - Based off the Walking Dead TV show as well as other forms of zombie media. Thatcher Davis wakes up from a month long coma to discover that the world has collapsed to a zombie apocalypse. As he tries to find his partner Ruth and his friend, Dave, he discovers a group of survivors about high school age. As they go further, Thatcher notices that this group is skilled at fighting, but will it be enough to keep them alive?

Magicae puer (Magic AU) - For generations, families have been born with magical powers. Some have fire magic, water magic, the ability to see auras. In recent times, magic has become a taboo subject by many, being dismissed as something stage magicians do. The Flammias are a great example of a magic family. Coming from a Wiccan family, they were ostracized for not being like the citizens of Mandela. They weren't worshiping God, they weren't following the Lord's passages.

The Heathcliff family has been keeping a secret. They all have magic too. And it seems that their children, Mark and Sarah have inherited their powers. For Mark, it was the rarest form of magic. Healing. A type of magic that was thought to have gone extinct for good reason. The healer's lifespan gets cut every time they heal someone, resulting in the healer eventually dying.

One night, while at a sleepover, Cesar wishes on a shooting star for him to have magic like Mark. His wish eventually gets granted as he has the ability to see colored strings that signifies what type of relationship the person has. As they get older, things start to become more dangerous. People begin to notice their magic powers, shadow creatures start appearing and a looming threat about the end of the world begins to emerge.

Doki Doki Mandela Club - A high school sophomore joins a literature club to catch up with her two childhood friends, Mark and Cesar. She hopes that she'll make new friends in the club as well as strengthen her literary knowledge. As they prepare for the school festival, she notices peculiar things about her friends that she didn't know previously.

Days keep on repeating, their minds begin to erode... Why can't they achieve happiness? No matter what I do, it all comes to nothing. I can't stop it... I can't...

Basically, it's a mixture of DDLC and Higurashi with a little bit of Umineko. I won't just be using the base game. I will also be using the many mods that have been made about the game.

Cesar's Body (Jennifer's Body AU) - Cesar disappears after an accident at a concert. When he returns, something is off about him. Soon after, people start dropping dead. Now Mark has to figure out what's happening before more people die.

Purge Night in Mandela - Every year, the world hosts an annual event called the Purge. For twelve hours, all crime, including murder will be legal. Two stories unfold at the same time. A young boy tries to survive the purge along with his family. Two teens taking advantage of the Purge to commit petty crimes.

Reincarnation AU - In the year 2009, kids from Mandela county start to have dreams of a life they lived before. Bonds begin to form, danger looms around every corner, and friendships are tested.

Empty Dream - A tale of two friends who are reunited after Mark had to leave because of his father's new job. As they rekindle their friendship, family drama and people from their past threatens to tear the friends apart, possibly forever.

TMC x Regular Show - A silly AU where the TMC characters work at a park and they deal with shenanigans.

TMC x Corpse Party - A group of kids try a friendship charm one of them found online. Soon, they all get trapped in a haunted school and must find a way out before they join the many students who have died.

How do you write the victims of Mandela Catalogue?(Mark, Cesar, Adam, and Jonah)

Ahh, Victim crew! Sure!

🔫 Mark is a quiet man, but when he gets comfy around someone, he can be pretty excited!

🔫 Him and Cesar have known each other since like, 2nd grade and have been close ever since!

🔫 When he was a kid, Mark was the typical shy kid, hiding behind his mom when Cesar first met him, scared of the outgoing boy.

🔫 He's used to being dragged around by Cesar for things. He tried fighting it at first, but Cesar is a LOT STRONGER THAN HE LOOKS.

🔫 Doesn't help that Mark is built like an Iphone. Er...Blackberry? Whatever mobile phones they had back then, Mark has that build.

🔫 Aroace. I don't make the rules.

🔫 Classic Catholic boy. Prays, goes to church, confesses his sins, probably has trauma, yk.

🔫 He's given himself a heart attack with his left-out laundry on multiple occasions.

🔫 Doesn't really talk much with his parents, as both work a lot.(Mom works at the church, dad is elsewhere.) Thanks to this, his personal hygiene isn't the best.(He doesn't wanna risk contact with them.)

🔫 Honestly, he probably sees Dave as his dad more than his actual dad.

🔫 Oh yeah, I see Dave as his Uncle btw. Do with that what you will.

📞 Cesar is pretty much the opposite of Mark, being very outgoing and friendly with other people.

📞 Like, sometimes, Mark has to drag Cesar out of church to get his ass home levels of outgoing.

📞 Cesar is very much cishet. Don't be weird about it.

📞 He will fuck up anyone who gets on Mark's ass. Again, he's stronger than he looks.

📞 If the bowtie comes off, heaven help you.

📞 or Hell.

📞 God and Satan will turn the other way if that happens, probably.

📞 Aside from that, he's a great cook!

📞 If he hears you say something bad about one of his friends, he's just gonna. kick you out.

📞 I don't remember if this is canon, but idc, Cesar and his family is hispanic, I don't make the rules.

📞 That's why he's so good at cooking! His mom gave him some good recipes!

📞 If he's having a bad day, he'll just sorta. Grab himself some orange sorbet out of the freeze and go through it until he feels better.

📞 Manipulative, emotionally devastating, lying, and cunning, Alt Cesar is pretty much everything that Cesar himself isn't.

📞 If by some chance, he gets attached to someone, heaven help them, because Gabriel sure as Hell can't control him.

📞 Not in a bad way, mind you, he still has enough cognitive thinking that he knows not to hurt someone he cares about.

📞 He'll just be overly possessive and protective of them.

That story was bad as it was so easily disproven. I don't know what is worse - her delusions that never happened or Harry telling a different version of his feelings to every interviewer, so we get three different interpretations of the same vent/person from him. Both make my head hurt.

So Kaiyo/Fumiko.... What's up with the name change? A mistake, continuity error, they straight up forgor☠️ what they named Chizu's friend, or did the showrunners mean for Fumiko to be totally unrelated to Kaiyo?

Also when I was trying it figure out name meanings Kaiyo is traditionally masculine... And my mind immediately went trans👀?

This cat is trans and there's nothing you can do about it! (yes I know calicos are only female shhhhh)

Also does this imply that Lady Fuwa and whatever ninja in kidnapping children duty didn't check the sex of the baby before said kidnapping? Yes, does this also imply that Lady Fuwa can excuse child abuse but draws the line at transphobia? Also yes. (This is a joke)

Anyway personal headcanons ramble:

Kaiyo/Fumiko is pretty emotionless externally, but inwardly feels and talks a lot

In fear of punishment, I feel like a lot of conversations and bonding happen purely through eye contact in the Neko Ninja Crew, hence thats how Kaiyo/Fumiko keeps staring at the gang

No Gen, they're not staring into your soul and finding it wanting, its how they bond

Also idk if Mandela effect or not but flashback Kaiyo/Fumiko had the same design as Hanna right? I didn't imagine that? Anyway Kaiyo/Fumiko recognizes a kindred spirit and gifts their old scarf

Also! I don't think I mentioned this in last post about Kaiyo/Fumiko but their design is based off concept art Chizu and the Neko Ninja uniform

relatedly. I watch so many movies and shows and things that I've gotten to really think about why some things hit and some things miss for me, despite popular opinion or even despite whatever the cast and crew were trying to do with it. like that uhh... what's it called. found-footage type horror, Marble Hornets Mandela Catalogue type shit? it doesn't hit for me. and I know exactly why -- it is meant to evoke a certain kind of anxiety in the viewer. I don't have that response, so as a result I'm mostly just bored (that weird Gabriel dude is kinda sick tho)

and I think it's valuable to understand 1) what someone is trying to do with a work; 2) genre conventions and the functions of certain kinds of genre elements in general; and 3) what makes YOU respond emotionally to a thing because sometimes "this movie's bad! it's a bad movie, the pacing is bad, the writing is bad, the characters suck" etc is really just "this did not have the intended effect on me" (and sometimes people do get this far but then follow it up with "and if it did have that effect on you then u're a wuss and a baby lol" so, you know, it's a journey...)

the above is the abstract for my thesis on why The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) did fucking NOTHING for me except annoy me to death but Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1995) did EVERYTHING for me (these are basically the same movie but in the second one the conventions are all tweaked -- the knobs on some elements are turned down to near-zero and the knobs on other elements are turned up to 11)

The Crew and Co. Collective Interests

Horror Media, but ESPECIALLY internet horror... so like, analog horror, digital horror, found footage, the likes. We do have some favorites tho!! and those are : Lacey's Games, The Mandela Catalogue, Vita Carnis, Daisy Brown, Everymanhybrid, Marble Hornets, Literally ANYTHING made by VibingLeaf on youtube, The Backrooms by Kane Pixel, and more that im probably forgetting

Drawing / Painting, both digital and traditional. We are character artists, and primarily character designers. So thats to say we suck at composition and backgrounds /silly/

Graphic Design. A good few of us toy around with designing logos, and flags, and userboxes- We love making pretty looking stuff because we cant work in a space that isn't aesthetically pleasing [shout out to on our our obsessive-compulsive disorders].

Writing / Poetry. I'm getting fired up at the thought of talking about my fantasy series, but I will sustain my control- We're HUUUUGE into writing, especially our own original stories, though we wish we had enough fandoms to write fics for. We tend to be a bit more goofy in our writing, and mature, but we've been told we have a decent writers voice for our characters which EEEEE when i was told that it was the biggest compliment ever,...

Speaking of fandoms!! We are in... literally none :( We don't know how to engage in fandoms anymore, or how to get attached to media, but in terms of fandom media, we like Steven Universe, KinitoPet, Minecraft [no mcyt's tho tbh], Stardew Valley, and Marble Hornets. I'm sure there is more, but I really don't interact in fandoms asides reposting fanart. We wish we could get attached to media like we did in our youth, but its an overall attachment issue :( We've lately been looking back into MLP stuff, but we can't draw ponies [we have pony ocs tho!]

Witchcraft / Paganism. We're a Solitary Witch with a 'specialization' in Candle Magick and Sigils.

Singing and Playing Instruments. Formerly, we were a Flute Player, but now we mostly play out 3rd baby, our Bass Guitar. We're very much music fans, and our musical roots on one side of my family goes back to, like, 1482 [thank you grandma for the genealogy folder on that one]. We mentioned it somewhere, but we have perfect pitch [as a result from all the music in our bloodline] and all we use it for is pitch matching tech. When we play our bass, thats how we do song covers tho! Because we can't read bass clef,,,, only treble.

Organizing Information and Data. Admittedly, this is more one specific cohost, but he's honestly gotten us all to like it to a certain extent.

Animation, stop motion and digital- We used to do traditional too, but it's wicked hard.

Crafting, but especially beaded bracelets and clay sculptures

Finally, our own ocverse. We have a hard time talking about it over tumblr dms because its so uncomfortable to message on [too used to discord], but you can literally get us going for hours, at least,,, if you heed the TWs of it, since our OCverse is rooted in our trauma.
