A highly requested Raphael with a softer tummy/dad bod
A spiritual successor to my Raphael as the Lucifer of Liege fanart nine months ago
I think it would've been 1000% funnier if we waltzed into Raphael's boudoir and found him in his tub enjoying his day-off instead
My headcanon is that Haarlep's ripped body is also an idealized version, and Raph is soft underneath his armor
He inherited his daddy Mephistopheles' musculature but once he left the freezing layer of Cania, his body finally had the chance to stock up on fat

Happy Showcase Day Y’all!
This time @artists-guild-of-exandria presents the Art History Style Swap #AHSS
Paying homage to some of our personal art inspirations through our love of Critical Role 💜
In graphite and pencil is my take on an MC Escher classic, reframed as
‘Hand with Reflecting Beacon’ found in the journal of a particular mage.

In years to come, a book now lives in the inner archives of the Cobalt Soul. Like many around it, it is a journal, and as such gives a history surrounding some of the most defining years of Exandria.
This particular tome also seems to be a sketchbook.
Most of the drawings are precise in execution yet appear to have little relation to the writings, occasionally annotated with sentiment rather than context.
One such note, scrawled in an antiquated form of Kryn Undercommon accompanies what is theorised to be a self-portrait.
‘I often wonder if I truly thanked you for sharing your skill of art with me, my friend. It is a cruel jest indeed that time has seen to it that I will never know.’

In the real world, Heidi and I may be broken old ladies, but in a comic strip, you can be a kid forever.
That said, I have been wanting to do a proper, full-strip homage to the great Bill Watterson and his classic comic strip, Calvin & Hobbes, for a LONG time now. At least since my Garfield parody strip. When I finally had an idea, then I just needed to work up the nerve to try and mimic his fluid and lively line style. (AND pull it off digitally, no less.)
I tried to give it the FLAVOR of watercolor for the colors, but still wanted it to look like a real Sunday strip, and am marginally pleased with the results.

FINALLY making some progress on this homage piece. I fancast Destiny, Destruction, and Delirium for drawing models. I would love to see Idris Elba as Destiny, Sam Heughan as Destruction, and Stephanie Hsu as Delirium!
I’m hoping to finish shading Despair and Delirium today so I can do the bg and details tomorrow.
