Welcome to Ninjago Fic Fest!
schedule || ao3 prompting form and collection || claiming form || dropout form || prompting without ao3 form || updates tag
What's a fic fest?
A fic fest is an event not unlike a secret santa in which fic writers create a story based on someone else’s prompt. The twist here is that instead of some mod assigning you a recipient, you get to choose the prompt that you write! Prompts are submitted by the community (writers and non-writers alike) on ao3, and over a period of two months writers will create a fic based one of those prompts.
How do I participate?
There are two ways to participate in the fest: prompting and claiming/writing. No sign up is required for prompting, and you can decide at any time within that two-month period whether or not you're going to write. You can participate in just prompting, just claiming/writing, or both!
Prompts can be submitted by anyone, not just writers.
Prompting guidelines:
no NSFW prompts
please specify any Wants or Do Not Wants
please leave room for writer creativity in your prompts
prompts may be deleted at mod discretion
Prompting will run from April 6th to April 27th.
After prompting closes, writers will be able to claim prompts on a first come/first serve basis using the claiming form. You must have an ao3 account to participate in claiming/writing.
Claiming/writing guidelines:
no NSFW submissions
submissions must be a minimum of 500 words
submissions must be mindful of their prompt's Wants and Do Not Wants (though you don't have to follow every Want to a T)
chaptered works are allowed as long as the submitted portion equals or exceeds the minimum word count
What happens once all fics are submitted?
Once all the fics are submitted to the ao3 collection, they will be revealed anonymously. After a short period, authors will then be revealed.
What if I need to drop out?
It's super easy to drop out of the event! Since you're not assigned a recipient, there's no one you're letting down by dropping out since there's no guarantee that any prompt will get filled; most won't, in fact, just by the nature of the event. The dropout form is there for this purpose.
Sounds fun! How do I get started?
Actual prompting for the fest will open in one week, on April 6th! In the meantime, follow this blog to stay up-to-date on the happenings. More detailed instructions/information will come as we reach each stage of the event, but if you have any questions, the ask box is always open.
Thanks for checking us out, and I'm so excited to see what we'll all create!

Gallavich Masquerade
Welcome to the first ever Gallavich Masquerade!
Tumblr media
This is a brand new event, so feel free to ask any questions you might have.
In a Masquerade, fic authors will write one-shots anonymously. These one-shots will all be revealed at the same time on December 21st - our Masquerade Ball! - and readers (who may also be other writers) will have a bit over a month to attempt to guess who's behind each mask, that is, who wrote what. And the writers, of course, will try to fool everyone!
Details after the read more, but don't forget to please spread the word. This will be fun!
Fic requirements
All fics must have between 2,000 and 5,000 words.
No theme is required or forbidden, but, as this is an event in which the goal is to have as many people reading your fics as possible, writing fics in niche categories is not advised.
I don't know what to write about!
You can get inspiration from anything you want. It can be canon-compliant, canon-divergent, after the show ended, AU...
But, if you still need some ideas, you can find some here, here or here (not to mention @callivich always has tons of prompts lists).
Sign-ups
Signing-up is required and can be done here. For this event, sign-ups can be done up to the time of posting. Unlike other events, this is one where you will need to sign-up only at the end, after the fic is done. You'll be required to add your AO3 username, the title of your fic, the word count, and possible categories under which it falls.
What are the categories for?
In case there are too many fics and I feel like people won't be able to read everything, I'll divide the fics into categories, which will depend on what we get as well. These may be according to fic size, canon or AU, with or without smut, etc., as long as the amount of fics or words in each category is pretty much the same. But it all remains to be seen.
What if I don't have an AO3 account?
Then I'm very sorry, but in this case, you won't be able to participate (as a writer). For his event, having an AO3 account is mandatory so that you can post in the collection. That being said, a lot of people have AO3 invites, so ask right now and someone may be able to send you one.
Posting
Posting will be done on AO3 and AO3 only! This is because the Masquerade Collection will be unrevealed and anonymous. All posting must be done until the eve of the Masquerade, so December 20th. On December 21st, all fics will be revealed and available for the readers. The fics will remain anonymous until January 31st, when the game ends. On February 1st, the authors' identities will be disclosed (and your fic will appear under your account just like any other fic).
As an author, all you have to do is, when posting on AO3, choose to do it under the Gallavich Masquerade 2023 Collection (as in the picture below). I'll take care of the rest. It's important to do so when posting and not after, or it won't work.
Tumblr media
Voting
Voting will be done via a new form, which will be disclosed only after the fics are posted. All fic titles will be displayed and readers will chose from a menu who they think the author is.
Points
There are two ways of winning this game, as an author and as a reader.
Authors are awarded 1 point for each person who correctly guesses their fic and 3 points for each person who wrongly guesses it. That's right, you get more points if you're actually able to deceive everyone!
Readers are awarded 5 points for each fic the guess correctly, but they lose 1 point for each wrong guess. (This is to discourage people from guessing on fics they haven't actually read, as we do want people to read as many fics as possible.)
Authors can also be readers, so they have twice the chance of winning. In case categories are applied, each category will have an author and a reader winner.
Prizes
Winners will get boasting rights! XD Plus, of course, a special post for them.
If anyone would like to make fanart or edits for the winners, please let me know, that would be super nice!

BYLER FIC REC WEEK 2023
Calling all Bylers! There are so many talented and amazing creators in our community, and it’s time to show them some love! There are quite a few fics and authors that are very beloved by this fandom, and while they absolutely deserve all the hype they get, there are so many other amazing fics and authors out there waiting to be discovered! We want to help you shine the spotlight on your underrated faves and share the love.
How it works:
Byler Fic Rec Week will last from Friday, 3rd of March to Thursday, 9th of March. Each day will be themed around a different genre of Byler fanfic for you to rec your personal favourites of. Don’t be shy, share as many fics as you want that fit the day’s theme— the more the better! We’ll be reblogging all the recs that get shared to this account as an archive of hidden gems, and using the tag #BylerFicRecWeek2023. The specific genres for each day can be found here.
All you need to do to rec a fic is to share its title, the name of the author, and a link to it (You can embed hyperlinks to the fic and the author’s AO3 profile by highlighting the text, choosing the infinity symbol, and pasting in the URL). If you want to you can also add the AO3 summary, your own description, how it makes you feel, or anything about the fic that you think will make people interested in reading it. If the author has a Tumblr and you know the @ you can also tag them, so they know you like their fic enough to recommend!
You can share your rec lists by:
Posting them to your own blog. Make sure to tag #Byler so more people have a chance to discover your recs! Also use the tag #BylerFicRecWeek2023 so we can definitely find your lists to reblog!
Submitting them to this blog. Don’t feel comfortable making posting a list to your own blog for whatever reason? No worries, we’ve got you covered. Submit a list to us and we can post it for you. Note that posts you submit will include your username.
Sending them in as asks. If you’d prefer to use asks over submissions or you want to remain completely anonymous, feel free to send your recs in to us as asks! You can’t embed hyperlinks into asks, so please include the full URLs of any fics you share like this.
Other ways to get involved:
If you feel extra motivated, you can show your appreciation for your favourite fics with fanart, edits, gifsets, moodboards— however you like! If you tag fancontent for a fic you’re reccing with #BylerFicRecWeek2023 we’ll be sure to reblog it! Make sure to tag the fic’s author when you share your creation, because they’ll definitely want to see it.
Rules/FAQ:
NO NSFW. This blog will not post or reblog any submissions, asks, or posts made with the #BylerFicRecWeek2023 tag that contain NSFW fanfics. if you post a list containing multiple recs and only one of them is NSFW, we will still not share it.
Byler should be the MAIN pairing of any fics you rec for this event. Any side pairings are fine, but the fic needs to be centered on Byler.
There is no hard limit on how popular fanfics you rec for the event can be, but the main purpose of this event is to bring attention to smaller works and their creators. If you can, try to share recs for fics you haven’t seen talked about or that you feel deserve more attention than they get. Well-known writers and their stories are fantastic, but we want to help uplift other authors too.
Fics don't need to be completed for you to rec them! There are a lot of great ongoing stories that deserve to have more people on the hype train for new updates. That being said, please don't rec fics that have been confirmed  to be abandoned, or that haven't been updated since 2020. Anything that's received an update since then is fine to rec, as fics can come off hiatus at unexpected times.
Don't worry if you don't have fics to rec for each genre; you don't need to participate in every day to get involved.

Already convinced? Sign up here!
Need more information? Read on!
Important Dates
Signups: November 23rd - November 30th Assignments out: December 1st Posting Window: December 21st - January 1st Stocking Stuffer Prompts Released: December 21st
Rules
This is a low stress exchange, and the rules are simple:
1. You create one (1) fanwork, and receive one (1) fanwork. 2. If you can't complete your gift on time, please let us know as soon as you do! Life happens, but the sooner we know the easier it is to deal with. 3. For recipients: no specific, detailed scenario prompts, only a list of general likes/tropes/vibes and your squicks and triggers. For gifters, we encourage you to sleuth out any questions for your prompter yourself (anonymous tumblr asks are a great option!). If you cannot, reach out to us and we'll do our best to get back to you. 4. Have fun! This is a short period exchange, meant to round out the year with a little extra joy. You don't need to paint the Mona Lisa or write the next Westerosi novel, we promise.
FAQ
1. Who can participate? Anyone! Artists, writers, vidders, poets, interpretive dancers are all welcome! 2. What do I need to do? When you sign up, you’ll provide three general ideas of what you like--tropes, vibes, nothing too specific!--for your creator to work from. Once sign ups close, you’ll be assigned someone and you’ll need to create a fanwork for them based off the information they provided. It could be a short fic, a piece of art, a poem, a vid, an interpretive dance, whatever you like! There is no minimum requirements, but as a rough guideline, think of it as something that would brighten your day if you received it. 3. When do sign-ups open? Signups run from November 23rd to November 30th. It's a short signup period, so make sure you don't miss it! 4. What if I can't finish something in time? Please send us an email at [email protected] to let me know and we'll do what we can to either let your recipient know you'll be a little late, or organise someone else to backfill. 5. Does my fanwork have to be festive themed? Definitely not. You'll just be publishing it, or posting it, or uploading it in between December 21st and January 1st. 6. Will my prompts be private? No, they will be released to everyone on the 21st to allow for the Stocking Stuffers. This will be open for anyone to contribute to, not just the people who participate in the main exchange. 7. When is the posting window again? Between December 21 and January 1.
Important Notes:
You must have an AO3 account to participate. If you do not have an AO3 account, you can either request one via the AO3 website or email us at [email protected]
If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected]. This will be a tight turnaround for signups–about a week–so get in quick if you’re interested!
Signups close end of day November 30th!

Better late than never! Welcome, one and all, to
The 4th Candy Hearts Challenge
A fun, stress-free Wolfstar mini-fest!
(If you remember how this goes , feel free to skip my introductory spiel and check for new rules!)
They’re sold by many companies and known by many names: Candy Hearts, Conversation Hearts, Sweethearts, and Love Hearts. Whatever the brand and whatever you call them, they’re the signature sweet of the season. Sure, you could buy your beloved a box of chocolates, but that’s an option any time of year! Good luck finding these bad boys in November!
Not that candy hearts are bad! Sure, they’re kinda chalky… and they taste stale no matter how fresh you bought them… but it’s not about the taste with candy hearts, it’s about the pastel, the experience, and above all else: the sayings! Who doesn’t remember going through a pack with friends, trying to find the kookiest message? Digging through a box to find one that was just the right level of romantic to give a certain special someone? (And maybe the heartbreak when you received one in turn where the message was just a big, pink smudge?)
Now, candy hearts have been around for a long time. And with a constant rotation of messages so we always got fun variety in a box, they’ve had a lot of sayings.
Through a great deal of internet sleuthing (and a little creativity on my part), I’ve collected over seven hundred of them.
Some are a little raunchy (TEASE ME), and some are downright rude (EW NO). They range from classic (BE MINE) to contemporary (SWIPE RIGHT) to were-at-one-point-contemporary (FAX ME). Some of them are, quite frankly so hyper specific it’s a wonder they made it into circulation at all (ME JULIE BEST MUM).
And they are all, even the weird ones, ripe with potential as fic prompts!
The way this mini-fest works is simple:
From 12:01am EST Feb 1 until 11:59pm EST March 1, drop me an ask containing these emojis: 🍬💕
If you don't want to send an ask from your main tumblr account (or don't have a tumblr account), you can do so anonymously. However, you must include the ao3 handle or tumblr sideblog from which you plan to complete the challenge.
I will shake my Great Big Box of Candy Hearts and pull out a unique candy heart for you and only you!
With your message in hand, create whatever that candy heart inspires and your own heart desires! Fanfic, art, graphics, playlists, head canons, shit posts, interpretive dances, cosplay, meta essays, it’s all great as long as its central focus is on Wolfstar, the relationship between Remus Lupin and Sirius Black!
You can either directly quote your candy heart message in your work or use it as a broader inspiration.
You are allowed to use the same candy heart as inspiration for multiple unrelated works and submit all of them to the fest.
You do not need a beta before submitting your work, but I do encourage you to get one. I want this to be as stress-free an event as it can possibly be, and in my personal experience, it reduces stress to have someone else look over your completed work for at least spelling and grammar so you don’t have to reread your own stuff and psych yourself out before posting. If you don’t have any fandom friends with whom you feel comfortable sharing your fanfiction, there are also online resources to find a friendly stranger (including, hopefully, our discord server — see rule 17). But if ultimately, you’d rather be your own editor, I certainly won’t reject your work!
Include the following caption at the beginning of the tumblr post or AO3 beginning notes: For @goodboylupin's Candy Hearts Challenge. My candy heart prompt was ____. I will not reblog your work or allow it in the collection until you have included the caption.
If posting on tumblr, please make sure the @-tag of your caption is working so I get a notification! It should show up on its own automatically as you type. Also tag the work with #RSCandyHearts, preferably within the first five tags.
If posting on AO3, post your work to the collection and tag it with goodboylupin's RS Candy Hearts Challenge (this tag will show up in the suggestions when you start typing it).
As long as the rules have been followed, I will reblog every work on Tumblr, and leave a kudos on every work on AO3. (If I haven't done so on your work and you see I've been active on this blog, then both the @-notification and #RSCandyHearts tag failed. Send me an ask with a link!)
If, after completing your first work, you want another helping of candy hearts, that’s more than welcome! Since I don’t want anyone to get a sugar crash, there is a two-day wait period between submitting a work and getting a second (or third or fourth or wherever you are) candy heart.
If you find you cannot come up with anything for your prompt, you can drop out and send a new ask to get a different candy heart. However, you need to give it an honest effort for at least one week before I give you a new one.
Works are expected by March 15, but this is a low-stakes, self-posting challenge! If you need more time, just message me or drop an ask. And if you want to drop out, that’s totally fine! I’ll even delete your first ask where you requested a candy heart if you prefer. I only need to know for the sake of my own record-keeping. Let’s all just be honest, considerate, and try to have a good time!
If you need a really long extension: Your candy heart is yours until January of next year, at which point, if I haven't heard back from you with an update or request for extension in the past few months, your prompt is going back in the Great Big Box of Candy Hearts so somebody else can have a go at it. The AO3 collection closes at the same time.
I will keep a masterlist of works pinned on my blog until at least March 22.
There's a discord! Feel free to join to discuss your prompts, your progress, your love of Wolfstar, or just to have another little circle in your sidebar.
Over the past two challenges, there have been a small handful of people who requested a candy heart, did not create anything and did not speak to me any further to tell me they were dropping out or having trouble. I work hard to make everyone a custom graphic and keep this fest running smoothly, therefore: Any creators with multiple instances of ghosting are suspended from getting another candy heart until next challenge.
Since this is not the usual timeframe for #RSCandyHearts, I'd love it if you could reblog this post to signal boost!
My ask box is open now to receive your candy heart requests 🍬💕

Buddie Week Q&A
You might have some questions, hopefully you'll find answers here :)
Is using AI allowed?
No! It has been proven that using AI is stealing from original creators' works. To me (and lots of other people) this is unethical. If I find out something is made with AI, it will be removed from the AO3 collection and the account will be blocked by this account.
I'm aware I can't do much to prevent people from using it anyway. I will try my absolute best to prevent it from happening. All I can do now is give you a tip I've seen going around: posting your works for registered users seems to protect against AI programs from finding it.
Which brings us to the next question
Can I post works on AO3 for registered users only?
Yes you can. Especially with AI going around so much, it is completely understandable that you want to keep it away from people without accounts. I myself also only post for registered users. There's no rule against it. Same with the comments, you can choose whatever option you want
Do I have to post on AO3?
No, you can post wherever you want. However, there is only an account for this event here on Tumblr and a collection on AO3. Posts on Twitter, Instagram or other places won't be shared by me.
But this is for everyone, so you can still create for it! You don't even need to tag me for it.
Will you reblog my work?
This is my first time hosting an event so I don't know what to expect. I want to reblog everything I find! I'll keep an eye on the Buddie Week 2024 tag and my mentions and will do my best to reblog everything.
With AO3 I want to share links on this blog too, but I don't know if everyone feels comfortable with that, so I don't know yet. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable or feel exposed to an audience they don't want.
Depending on how many works will be submitted, it might take some time. I'm currently experiencing a burnout and am still working, so I don't always have the energy. However, I will try my damn best. So even if it's five weeks too late, I'm planning on reblogging everything I'm tagged in!
Can I write graphic/dark topics?
You can write whatever you want, BUT!!!! Tag accordingly. Buddie Week is for everyone - including writers and readers under 18. Be aware not everyone is comfortable with some topics, make sure it's obvious these are in your work so that it doesn't trigger someone. Tag it on AO3, Tumblr, or wherever you post so that people who have blocked/muted those tags won't come across it. Lets keep this a safe space for everyone!
What do I do if someone harrases me?
Tell me!
I want to make clear: NO HATEFUL COMMENTS. Even if you don't like someone's work. Move on. Click away. I'm sure people will write things I personally hate, like bashing fics, but I'll decide not to read it and move on.
If someone is hating on you, contact me. If they are (I will ask the opinions of other people - keeping you anonymous) then the person will get warning. If they do it again, they'll be disqualified - which means their work will be removed from the event and their account blocked by this account.
Please, don't hate on each other and let this be a fun and exciting week!
Can I combine this with other events or challenges?
Of course! If they allow it too.
Is there something else I can't write?
I think it's obvious to say that discriminating isn't okay. There's a difference by showing the reality of it (a character going through it) and writing it from a discriminating view. Thankfully I haven't rum into anyone who does write discriminating fanfiction, but I've heard about racism against 911 characters or homophobia.
If you notice this, don't be afraid to contact me!
When does the collection open?
A few days before the event starts. I will post something about it on here. However, works won't be shared by me until the event starts in my timezone (Central European Time)
My question wasn't answered by this
Send me an ask! I'll try my best to answer ASAP. I might need time to think about how to answer something, so don't worry about me ignoring you if you see me posting on my regular blog after you've sent something. (Though sometimes Tumblr doesn't immediately send me the notification)

any advice on how to improve writing style/get ideas for fics and dialogue? i’m forever in love with the way you write. it flows well, and the dialogue is super authentic and funny. i’m trying to get back into writing after a couple years of being crushed by the american secondary education system, so any tips would be much appreciated.
keep it up with the good work! i look forward to continue reading :))
Holy moly, this is a super kind ask. I'm so happy to know that you enjoy my work. Thank you for sending this!
As for the meat of this ask -- I'll do my best! I'll offer some reflections and then link some resources I've personally found helpful! I apologize for the length of this answer. This ask gave me a lot to think about, and brevity is my weakness as a writer.
I answer this with a few caveats:
I'm not an expert. I'm just loud.
I teach writing for a living, but I don't teach creative writing specifically. I do, by nature of my job, have more time for reading and writing than I did as a full-time student or corporate employee. That alone makes a huge difference. Everyone goes at their own pace, and it's hard to be creative without time, especially when you're starting out or getting back into writing after a break.
I write humor, so I'll discuss that primarily. While writing has rules that generally yield better results, comedy works often because it violates those established rules. Like many writing teachers, I have fully internalized the touted "canon" of Strunk & White's Elements of Style and George Orwell's Remedy of Six Rules. But sometimes, adverbs are funny. So I'll write an adverb, say "fuck you George Orwell," and, scandalously, call it a day.
If you want to deconstruct and consequently ruin comedy forever, start with Theories of Humor and then, to extend your suffering, hit the footnotes.
Humor writing is culturally dependent. You won't make everyone laugh. You'll flop. You'll embarrass yourself. You have to be willing to risk being unfunny. So it goes.
You can always publish anonymously on AO3 if it helps you start. Or for any reason. You can change your mind and claim it back to your account. Or you can abandon it entirely. I've done it plenty. Sometimes, it's what you need to do to draw up the nerve to put yourself out there, and that's completely fine.
Reflections
My first personal rule is that I write stories for myself, fic or original. If someone else likes it, that's a bonus. I write what I want to read. That factors into my overall writing style too. I write how I'd want someone else to write it for me. Even if someone's written it before, which is often the case with fic writing and popular tropes, I might want to hear it in another way. See: The Two Cakes Principle.
My second personal rule is that I write something every day. Even if it's a little bit. Even if it's all trash. Anything's better than nothing. Write without editing. Write without your spell checker on, even. (As they say "write drunk, edit sober" -- I don't drink much, so for me that means "write at 3AM, edit at not 3AM"). The more you play around with words and practice your voice, the easier it will get. Part of this is honing the muscle or whatever, but part of this is also gaining familiarity with structure that will make writing forever easier. How do journalists crank out stories everyday? There's a structure to newspaper and magazine articles that makes it easier to plug in the words and go. You'll find your own in creative writing too. Plus, the more you write, the easier it is to let go of things (aka kill your darlings). (Killed darlings go in your bits folder.)
My third personal rule is that I write every idea down, no matter how vague or ridiculous, because I might be able to use it later. I never want to lose things. I use my phone notes for this. They're full of silly ideas -- funny things I overhead at the library, out-of-context conversations I imagine Reigen and Dimple having, Wikipedia articles that I liked, funny plot concepts, etc. The other day, I wrote down, "The gang carbon-dates Dimple." I dunno where I'm going with that, but I like the idea. I write a lot of my plot ideas in IASIP title card style. It's more fun that way. Always prioritize having fun.
One last personal rule is that the mechanical act of writing has a purpose. You're rarely writing for the purpose of writing well, right? Most of the time, in class or at work, I'm writing for the purpose of being understood by my audience, and therefore, I do whatever I must to make my message better understood, even at the expense of "good writing." Here's a silly example: I've learned the hard way that some of my co-workers can't fucking read. So instead of paragraphs, I write emails in bullet points with bold and underlined text. At the expense of prose, the message is more likely received, and that's the goal.
This example might be on the nose, but it applies in some way to everything I write. When I write fic, I have to have a purpose. Maybe I'm trying to make myself laugh. Maybe I'm trying to explore some theme or feeling. Maybe I'm trying to correct canon. Maybe I'm trying to speculate how the conman will handle a Situation. Whatever that end is, I find the writing comes easier when I focus on the end more than the process of writing. It helps me stay focused, when I remember that writing's just the tool. I hope that makes sense.
Developing a writing style or a narrative voice depends on the writer. I'm an amalgamation of what I've read and watched and enjoyed, combined with formal writing education and my own personal narration. I hate to be the person who says "read a lot to write more!" I hate it so so so much, but...it's true. (That said, it doesn't have to be the classics. I get inspiration from there, sure, but I also get inspiration from sitcoms and crossword clues and the inane HOA emails my landlord forwards to me. "Honored neighbors, we are ecstatic to announce fire alarm testing next week..." Like, I'm sorry? That's a work of art I've filed away for later.)
For fics, some of the way I write is homage to the original creator. I consider this a plus, not a requirement. ONE writes satire. He's foremost a humorist. Most of his works are genre deconstructions. Like most shonen mangaka, he writes shorter narrative arcs that sum to (or in his case, reflect across) the overall narrative arc of the work. He's also pretty cringe/over-the-top with wordplay and cultural references (pop and traditional). When I try to reflect elements of his style in my own work, I find his characters easier to work with. For me, it's hard to write something fully comedic or fully serious with MP100 characters. The alternation between comedy and tragedy in MP100 works because it plays on emotional investment in the characters and subversion of expectations.
That said, I'm going to have to add something controversial: as a fic writer, how much you adhere to the original work doesn't fucking matter. (See my first rule -- write what you want to read.) Fic writing is meant to be transformative. The amount that you should care about canon depends on what you're trying to accomplish. My advice is to play fast and loose as much as you want. Unfollow and block the "he wouldn't fucking say that" people if it helps you write. I do, because they're annoying. Characterization is a product of audience internalization. Further, every work is for someone. Most importantly, you're doing this for fun, not pay or obligation. Sure, maybe ONE wouldn't write Reigen saying a particular line, but ONE also writes homophobic stereotypes into his works. No matter what you do, by definition of writing a fan work, you're gonna stray from canon. It's not holy word. Don't waste your finite man hours stressed about it.
Moving on to discussion of "get ideas" -- I mentioned I write every idea down. I try to stick with ideas I know fairly well off the bat, because it's easiest to write what you know. In absence of that, I find more inspiration in the research into an idea. Much of the action in TPC was heavily inspired by George Santos's many misdeeds, which I read in the news or on Wikipedia.
If I can distill the idea into a premise, it informs my narrative voice in a given work. Write what you know applies to premise as much as character perspective. You're always going to have an easier time writing a character you relate to or you encounter in real life and know quite well. You might consider this to get started. Personally, I find Reigen and Mezato easiest to write, because I relate to them the most. I find Serizawa and Shigeo more difficult to write, because I have more trouble relating to their life experiences. On the other hand, I find Roshuuto easy to write, because his brand of villainy is more familiar to me.
There's this notion of plotting vs pantsing. A plotter outlines every facet of their work before doing any writing. A pantser makes it up as they go (read: "by the seat of their pants"). Figuring out which one you are will enable you to write more comfortably.
Personally, I'm somewhere in the middle of that spectrum. For MP100, I always know where a work will end when I start. In TPC, the second scene I ever wrote was the epilogue. For me, the middle is what's more up in the air. In my experience, it's very difficult to be a total pantser and write comedic multi-chapter works, unless you write the whole thing before you post. It's not impossible, but in my opinion, humor relies on callbacks and repetition so much that you risk writing yourself into a wall if you're not careful. In general, I don't start formally "fic writing" without an overarching premise, but the premise might be as simple as: "Against everyone's better judgment, Reigen runs for union president. It blows up in his face."
This was my original outline for TPC before I even wrote chapter one:
Tumblr media
I had the overarching narrative and the rough timeline for the mini-arcs in mind when I started. A lot of it ended up changing or shifting. I had a few themes I wanted to cover and comedic elements I wanted to set up. But when it came down to more specific mini-arc narrative details, I either plotted later or got away with pantsing it entirely.
Sometimes as I write chapters, I get stuck on individual scenes. Maybe I'm struggling to write scenery, or I haven't figured out a character interaction, or the dialogue isn't flowing the way I'd like. To deal with that, I have trained myself to write out of narrative order as needed. I write the scenes I'm most excited about first, and then I come back and fill in the rest of the connective tissue. This is easier in Scrivener, which is what I use to write, but you can set up any word processor to do this. Even within scenes, I sometimes skip parts that I need to think about for longer. Sometimes, I don't even finish sentences.
I'll write something like:
"Apparently you're quite popular on a particular Mobbit sub," he tells Reigen. Reigen's not sure he wants to know which one. "It was r/<SOMETHING FUNNY>. Did you know they hit a million subscribers this week? I think you helped."
And then in the middle of the night or in the shower or at the grocery store or whenever I think of "<SOMETHING FUNNY>", I fill it in later. When I edit, I make sure I clear out any remaining "<>." I do what I can, and then Future Ani does the rest. *handshake emoji*
For comedy writing, there are rules I follow that I'll link later on. While I've been inspired by a lot of other humor novelists or essayists, I also take a lot of inspiration from TV and standup.
I took a screenwriting class in college -- and while I didn't get the knack of screenwriting (B-, unlucky), I did learn a lot about plot progression, dramatic irony, show-not-tell, rule of threes, and scene setting. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I found it helpful. You can see some of that inspiration manifest, for example, in that many of my fics have cold opens. I've always liked that comedic structure for drawing in the reader while establishing an overarching theme for the chapter. I do a lot of scene-switching and flashbacks as well. Scene-setting in comedy often involves juxtaposition -- e.g. "what if we put the weirdest loner from 7th division in a highly-collaborative corporate setting?". You're subverting expectations, and this is where you break the rules. Sometimes, comedy is about using the funniest word or word combination possible to describe something.
On that note, take some tips from poetry too. Alliteration, repetition, synecdoche, a lot of poetic devices work well here, because, like poetry, comedy writing depends on build-up and timing. Rules are best broken when it's rare and unexpected. It's way funnier and impactful when a character who never swears drops an f-bomb when they've finally had enough. Here's another example: in general, you should avoid epithets in fic writing, but it's all about being judicious with your timing. I can call Reigen "the union's esteemed president" instead of his name in a scene in Executive Privilege, because I juxtapose it with him doing something less-than-esteemed.
Perhaps less obviously, the TV influence manifests in the way I write dialogue too -- shorter and generally interleaved between the characters. While I read everything I write out loud during editing to check flow, I especially focus on tightening up dialogue. I don't always get it right, but I try to make sure that every word in a piece of dialogue has to have a purpose: either characterization or timing, in that order. Serizawa uses a lot of "I think" or "In my opinion." Reigen...does not do that. And Dimple is a master of the last word in the form of a pithy quip. If I plan my scenes to use that characterization to support the comedic timing I'm shooting for, it works all the better. (e.g. -- let Reigen babble on like an expert about something he doesn't actually know anything about, let Serizawa think on it for a while and come to a conclusion that puts Reigen on the spot, let Reigen backtrack, and then let Dimple add his jab at the end. And scene.)
Aaand that's a lot of reflection. Probably too much reflection. These are some considerations that have helped me over time, so I hope others might find it helpful too. Getting started is tough, and it's often terrifying to put your work out there (and somehow, even more terrifying to put a GDoc in front of a beta reader, I haven't a clue why but it's true for me!). But once you start, I promise it gets easier! You'll build yourself a foundation and continue to pick up things you like, discard things you don't like, and grow from there.
Thanks again for sending this ask. It means a lot to me. Happy to continue the conversation and field other people's thoughts on any of this! Like I said, this is a reflection on my process, but everyone develops their own unique approach to writing over time. Mine changes over time too. Above all, I hope you can heal from the crush of the education system, find enjoyment in writing again, and discover the style and process that works for you <3

Two weeks left! How to participate?
It's a Tumblr-exclusive event. If you don't have a Tumblr account, you can participate on Twitter/X or AO3 by using the ReiJeanWeek2024 hashtag or including the event’s name in the description. I'm planning on sharing links to such submissions on this blog, so if you don't want me to do that, please let me know. You can also submit a link to your submission by an anonymous message (but you need a Tumblr account to do that). My username on Twitter/X is TrojeanHorse, so you can tag me as well if you wish.
For Tumblr users, I'll be leaving the "submissions" option open. You can also post your submission on your blog, use the ReiJeanWeek2024 tag or add it in the description, and I'll surely find you. You can also tag me (@reijeanweek).
Please include the following information in your submissions: day (1-5) / prompt(s) chosen / dynamic (ReiJean, JeanRei or platonic) / NSFW or SFW. It will help with archiving.
If you choose to post your work on Tumblr, and it's either long or contains NSFW elements (or both), please make sure to use the "read more" option to shorten the post and make the experience more pleasant for everyone. To use this option on mobile, please type “:readmore:” without the quote marks in a new paragraph and click enter.
I will be accepting late submissions for a week after the event is over (till the 4th of February).

Prompting opens!
Woohoo! We've made it to the first stage of fic fest: prompting period! If you have an ao3 account, you can now officially head over to the prompting page to share your ideas with the world!
Tumblr media
Don’t have an ao3? You can also submit prompts through this google form (only use this option if you don't have an ao3 account.) Prompting will run from April 6th to April 27th.
Remember:
Prompts must be SFW
Prompts can be about any aspect of ninjago, including but not limited to seasons 1-16, DR, books, comics, or the movie!
If you do submit a prompt about dragons rising, please write DR SPOILERS at the top of your prompt
Want to participate in the event but writing for your own idea and not someone else’s? There will be an option for self-prompting when claiming opens.
In celebration of prompting opening, there's also a silly little gif prompting game over here! Screenshot and share your results and what ideas might spawn from them.
Don't know how to prompt? The forms, both of them, are pretty self-explanatory, but if you want a more detailed breakdown, click that read more.
To prompt, you're going to start by going to the ao3 collection. Here you can see the prompts already submitted! Along the navigation bar at the top of the collection, you should see a tab titled "Prompt Form." Click on that, and you'll be greeted with a form with several boxes.
Tumblr media
The first boxes are fairly self-explanatory. You're allowed to list up to three fandoms (crossovers allowed as long as the content abides by the fest rules!), three characters, three relationships, and the additional tags.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next comes the place for your actual prompt! Fill this box in with the actual fic idea you have (remember that authors do not need to match pitch-for-pitch every single thing you put here, and putting in too many details may limit who wants to pick it up).
Also put in your wants (things you want to see in the fic) and do not wants (things you absolutely do not want to see).
Tumblr media
Finally, you'll be given the option to make your prompt anonymous or not! The reason it's listed as "semi-anonymous" is because while the prompt itself won't have your name on it, your name will show up in the list of people who've submitted prompts.
And that's it! Here's what the final prompt looks like:
Tumblr media
Got it? Now go out and create!
If you still have questions, feel free to drop an ask or check the #asks tag :D

Gallavich Fanart Masquerade 2024
Tumblr media
It's here! Our first ever fanart-only event (thanks @michellemisfit for the idea!).
The rules are pretty similar to the fanfiction masquerade. In a Masquerade, artists will create fanarts anonymously, attempting to create something in a style different from their usual in order to fool the "admirers". These fanarts will all be revealed at the same time on May 12th - our Fanart Masquerade Ball! - and admirers (who may also be other fanartists) will have two weeks to attempt to guess who's behind each mask, that is, who did which fanart.
Details after the read more.
Requirements
None. Any art style will do, as long as it's drawn, I suppose. Traditional or digital, colored or b&W or lineart... Just no edits. And absolutely no AI, of course.
I need fanart ideas!
Maybe this will help.
Sign-ups
Signing-up is required and can be done here. For this event, sign-ups can be done up to the time of posting. Unlike other events, this is one where you will need to sign-up only at the end, after the art is done. You'll be required to add your AO3 username and the title of your fanart (yes, you'll have to give it a title, sorry - it can be pretty simple though).
Is NSFW accepted?
Yes, as long as it is correctly tagged. Please keep in mind that in this case, it's possible some people might not be comfortable in viewing it.
What if I don't have an AO3 account?
Then I'm very sorry, but in this case, you won't be able to participate (as an artist). For his event, having an AO3 account is mandatory so that you can post in the collection. That being said, a lot of people have AO3 invites, so ask right now and someone may be able to send you one. (Or, worst case scenario, we can find writer buddies to post for you.)
Posting
Posting needs to be done on AO3 because the Fanart Masquerade Collection will be unrevealed and anonymous. All posting must be done until the eve of the Masquerade, so May 11th. On May 12th, all the fanarts will be revealed and available for the admirers. The fanarts will remain anonymous until May 26th, when the game ends. The winners will be revealed shortly after, along with the prizes (more on that below). After the artists identities are revealed, they are free to post their fanart wherever they please.
Because unfortunately AO3 doesn't host images, your fanarts will have to be hosted elsewhere and linked to AO3. They should stay as hidden as possible. One possibility is posting privately on Tumblr and then using the image link to post on AO3. If you don't know how to do that or don't have a place to host the fanart, please contact us and we'll help you out.
When posting on AO3, choose to do it under the Gallavich Fanart Masquerade 2024 Collection (as in the picture below). I'll take care of the rest. It's important to do so when posting and not after, or it won't work.
Tumblr media
Voting
Voting will be done via a new form, which will be disclosed only after the fanarts are posted. All fanart titles will be displayed and the admirers will chose from a menu who they think the artist is.
Points
There are two ways of winning this game, as an artist and as an admirer.
Artists are awarded 1 point for each person who correctly guesses their fanart and 3 points for each person who wrongly guesses it. That's right, you get more points if you're actually able to deceive everyone!
Admirers are awarded 5 points for each fanart they guess correctly, but they lose 1 point for each wrong guess.
Artists can also be admirers, so they have twice the chance of winning.
Prizes
The winning fanarts will get short fics based on them! And the one by the winning artist will be the prompt for one week in the @galladrabbles.

Do you think you'd ever seriously leave the fandom? Give up Tumblr and just post on ao3?
I definitely don't want you to leave, but curious how you're really feeling with all the drama going on.
I think one day, I will leave the fandom, but I think that's more to do with life than anything else. A new hyperfixation will eventually come along and I'll feel the need to write for that instead of TGM.
A friend told me recently that they think I would be happier in a different fandom, one with more engagement and more fans to read what I have to offer, and honestly, they're right. However, I can't control the hyperfixation anymore than I can control what time the sun sets, so y'all are stuck with me for the time being.
Would I post on AO3 exclusively? I think that depends. If I leave Tumblr, then I'm probably going to give up writing fanfic and try to focus on my original fiction again, try to decide if I want to pick up the story I've been working on for almost 11 years now or start fresh with something new. If I find a new fandom that makes me want to continue writing fanfic, then I might just devote my time to that and do a blog rebrand. I've done it before on my old account. Might actually just shift back to that one if I ever decide to leave this fandom.
And that's not to say that I don't appreciate the people who DO read my work because I absolutely do! But, and I said this the other day, I remember when fandom was more of a community versus content creators against consumers, and I miss that. Of course you had your friend groups, but for the most part, people were just excited about the content! Like, idk how to put it, but things feel very...political (?) sometimes, and that's not what fandom is about at all. I don't want people to feel intimidated to talk to me because quite frankly, I'm not an intimidating person. Annoying, sure, but not intimidating.
But as for the drama? I won't lie and say that there wasn't drama back in the days of old either, but I don't remember it being quite this bad. Of course people disagreed, but people were allowed to and everyone knew that it wasn't that serious. Now, it feels like people are afraid to express an opinion without being screamed at by people using the anonymous feature. Like, why is that necessary? Why are there people on here determined to run others off? What do you get out of it?
I'm honestly so surprised I haven't gotten more hate anons in recent weeks, but I have opinions on that that don't need to be made public. However, I shouldn't have to choose between "falling in line" with the status quo and sitting here every time I post an opinion, waiting for someone to send me a nasty message about how I think I'm so great or how I'm the most annoying person in the TGM fandom or whatever other bullshit they come up with without even knowing me.
And of course I'm so grateful for the friends I've made on here, and I love chatting with them about their works or my works if they don't write themselves. I love coming up with new stories to tell, but I have found myself wondering if I should try poking into the Marvel fandom or write for the Boys. After all, this blog was originally supposed to include those two as well and then my hyperfixation stayed on TGM.
Anyway, TL;DR: I don't know, Nonny. There are several factors that go into that decision. Do I want to leave? No. Not yet, anyway. Will I post on AO3 exclusively if I do? Probably won't post at all at that point ngl, but it is what it is at this point, and we aren't at that bridge yet.

Fic Finder
~*~
1. Hey, I'm looking for a fanfic in which LWJ assuming that he somehow impregnated WWX in his dreams when WWX says that he birthed Wen Yuan, I remember reading this fanfic on ao3, but I can't find it. There's a fanfic that looks like the one I want. called Taking Responsibility, but it's not what I'm looking for. please if anyone knows, help me 😭😭😭😭😭 @narablackpotter
~*~
2. I read a fic (obviously), one key scene is LWJ has OCD and needs to feed LXC’s pet snake a defrosted mouse and has a bit of a panic attack while doing it. WWX eventually steps in to help feed the pet. LWJ then obsessively cleans the kitchen. There is a balcony near the kitchen.
So, LXC is dating NMJ and they are living together and are together but somehow LWJ doesn’t know. WWX needs a place to stay. He is an art student and is applying to universities in London, I think. NHS offers to let him stay at the apartment. NHS is also staying there in NMJ’s “room” which is like a workout room with a futon. So, WWX is sleeping on a sofa that's a bit too small for him. Eventually it turns into "there was only one bed" (maybe).
I hope you can help!! @dreamlandtrees
FOUND? Adventures in Pet Sitting by raitala (E, 63k, wangxian, modern, hurt/comfort, artist WWX, maths nerd LWJ, LWJ pov, comphet LWJ, self-realization, coming out, London, sharing a bed, exploring sexuality, pining, fluff & angst, happy ending) I'm still in the middle of reading this so the scene described hasn't come up yet but the premise is the same!
~*~
3. hi~~ <3 for the next fic finder i was hoping you might help me find a weird but good one! wen ning and wei ying were best friends and used code to talk to each other around other people but they were modern and using memes and references so the not modern everyone else couldnt understand them, and thought they were a wee bit crazy. At one point, wei ying gave lan xichen a doom prophecy of everything that was going to go down. It was so good and i miss it  lol. Thank you for any help!
FOUND? So Call Me a Pessimist, but I Don't Believe in It by Anonymous (Not Rated, 121k, WIP, WangXian, Food Issues, Family Feels, Possible future XiCheng, Transmigrator WWX, transmigration au, Slow Burn)
~*~
4. There's this one fic on archiveofourown that I've been trying to find since ages ago.......
The fic has (maybe) foxxian, and he's an omega. It is kind of au, but when Wen Chao attacks Lotus Cove, Wuxian kills him when he tries to mate with Wei WuXian because his omega counterpart knows that he's not the alpha who can dominate him. Later, he brings Wen Chao's head to Jiang siblings after killing all the Wen people there at Lotus Cove.
This is the only thing I remember. It would be great if someone could help me find this fic because I'm gonna lose my mind soon if I can't find it again. Feel free to tag my account if someone finds this eventually and contacts you. Thanks in advance!! I hope to get a reply soon!!!! @nabi1118

~*~
5. For ficfinder, it's a time travel one. The scene I recall: WWX and I think JC were captured with JF by Wen Ruohan. After they defeat WR, LXC is a bit mad they killed MY since he was the spot, but WWX said "he killed uncle Jiang" and everyone accepted it. I really want to read that scene again but I've read approximately 70 billion time travel AUs so uh I need your help... @mreisse

6. Hi do you think you know this one fic where WWX came back from the burial mounds without memories and stuff? I remember he kinda knew who JC was, and that LWJ was playing the guqin to try and bring back WWX's memories. I think it also had WQ and JYL as a ship

7. Hi! I'm looking for a fic where LZ proposes Weiying a threesome with Moyuanxu (no explicit sex scene described) in Modern Setting, which triggers WWX jealousy & wonders about LZ feelings bc he admits that 'boy Moyuanxu reminds him of WWX' (at the end). It starts when Mo is leaving after sex (he's LZ office's co-worker). The entire fic is ab Weiying questioning their relationship & explores both of 'em feelings after being together for so long. Prob cheating/unfaithful LanZhan. Happy ending. Tysm @einherjermineord
FOUND? give something new a try by ilip13 (E, 12k, wangxian, modern, established relationship, angst w/ happy ending, married life, insecurity, jealousy, mentioned threesome (WWX/MXY/LWJ))

8. Hello! Please help me find this fic. Its a modern au where WWX and LWJ is theater actor. I think the setting is in acting department in university? The junior and WangXian practices for an oncoming show. In the past, WWX was kicked out from university and the reason he can play for this show is because of LWJ's recommendation. When its close to the day the show playing, LJY (and other junior i think) overheard that SS wants to blackmail WWX with the same material that makes WWX dissapear in the past. So they tried to investigate it and ask NHS for help (?). The material of that blackmail is WWX writes an essay and claim it as JWY's without JWY knowing. I think LQR already knows about that but decide it was already in the past (?). I think thats all i can remember. Thank you! @idontknowwhattowriteforusername

9. hello, I don't know if you'll understand cause English is not my first language. I'm trying to find three fic(but one is a series) and i cant find them.
A) This series is an a/b/O universe. I think it was an arranged marriage between wei ying and lan zhan. It was to unite YunmengJiang and the GusuLan clans because of the war but madam yu didnt didnt want to send her children. The marriage wasn't supposed to be a happy one but lan zhan and wei ying mated on the night on their wedding and both of them had a mate Mark and in this verse is a big thing for an alpha to allow an omega to bite them, it gives an omega a higher status. The jiang siblings were jealous of wei ying for this as her marriage to jin zixuan wasnt a happy one and he didnt allow jiang yanli to bite him, so she had to now to wei ying as he is of higher status than yanli. Also lan sizhui is wei ying and lan zhan biological child.
B) This is like a fantasy where they we're all gods. Wei ying was bunished to his place for a crime he did not commit. Lan zhan firstly did not believe wei yinh but later realised his mistake. He went to live in wei yings palace. But wei ying was very angry and did not speak to him for many years but lan zhan managed to win him with his loyalty.
C) I don't remember the context of the story but what I remember is that lan zhan used to call wei ying san Lang
9A)
FOUND! Alliance AU by Ilona22 (E, 17k, wangxian, ABO, arranged marriage, intersex omegas, canon Jiang family dynamics, not JC friendly, matchmaking, night hunts) is the first in the Alliance series I think
9B)
FOUND! The Mark of a Phoenix by glowingreverie (G, 3k, wangxian, gods & goddesses au, angst w happy ending, betrayal)
~*~
10. Hello! Hope everything's great! I've searching for a fic for a while now, I hope you can help me. I remember a couple of things about it:
-The Wen/WWX give A-Yuan to LWJ (because he got sick, I believe. And they couldn't help him. Or maybe just to get him out of the BG and the storm that was coming.)
-LWJ claimed him as his son and everyone believes he fathered a bastard. JGS even compared himself to LWJ and got shot down LMAO. In this scene LWJ asked JGY for future advise in how to raise his son so he would know life outside of the Great Sects' vision.
-LWJ composes a song and ask a street musician? to play it for him. I believe he cries. Words go out and everyone just talk about the tragic love between LWJ and a dead woman LOL Maybe WWX even sends a reply or something, I don't quite remember.
If you can help me find it, I'l appreciate it! Even then, thank you for the time! ♥︎♡♥︎ @randomhystericgeek
FOUND? Part 2: Han Guang Jun’s Son of Claiming Life from Death series by MarbleGlove (T, 3k, wangxian, canon divergence, rumors, lying is forbidden, but what is the truth)
~*~
11. Hello again!!!
I need help finding a fic please!
I don’t remember much but I know that wwx and the juniors were on a night hunt or something when they came across some type of dog-like yao. Wwx fought it by himself even though he was scared shitless and I think he did something to restrain or protect the juniors so they couldn’t help him. I think he got injured and all the juniors were worrying over him. Sorry if this isn’t descriptive enough. It’s all I can remember 🥲 thanks in advance!!! @jikcf

12. hi hi! Im trying to look for a wangxian fic but i barely remember anything of it.

that's all i remember i'm so sorry 😔

13. Hi! I’m looking for a tumblr fic. I think it’s in jiang cheng’s pov. Jiang Yanli comes back to life but the price of that is that Wei Wuxian loses all his memories of Lan Wangji. He eventually kills himself because of it. I don’t think it’s super Jiang Cheng positive and Jiang yanli doesn’t forgive him for it either. Something along those lines, thank you in advance!! @fruityloopsh
FOUND? I think it is this Tumblr Post

14. Hii! For the next fic finder can you help me with this fic where
A) after WY resurrection lWJ is happy but at the same time has moments where he’s annoyed by WY but then he also feels guilty about it cause he should just be happy WY is back after all. It follows the canon, mostly, it just has more LZ POV
B) -- This one moved to ITMF post ^^ ~Mod L

15. Ack, sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm looking for a post canon fic where LWJ was cursed and sort of fell out of love with WWX, who was hurt by the growing distance, but only really twigged something was wrong when LWJ began ignoring Sizhui too. I remember there was a part where he confronted LWJ about not meeting LSZ at the gates.
FOUND! Does anyone even read work titles? idk what to call this by Nighttdust (M, 14k, WangXian, Curses, Hurt/Comfort, Angst, though not to much, Both get hurt both get comforted, Established Relationship, Post-Canon, Happy Ending, Protective WWX, Insecurity, a bit only)

16. Heyy how are you feeling ???
I’ve been looking for this fic where nhs and wq secretly make wwx and lwj meet each other and wei ying over hear it and leave. (He is also loaded because he invented the tiger seal : a security system when he was working / in a summer camp with nmj) also he pretend to be someone named mxy to talk to jc and fix the problem they have. They are also some musicals references like wwx singing defying gravity and playing the flute with lwj (and also the piano alone)
But I’m scared these could be two different fics please help 🙇🏼‍♀️✨✨ @ihaveasoftspotfora-yuan
FOUND! Come Around and Stay by trippednfell (M, 160k, wangxian, modern, slow burn, kid fic, found family, it gets worse before it gets better, PTSD, blood and injury, dissociation, trauma, angst w happy ending, musicals, alternating pov, JC & WWX reconciliation, hurt/comfort, panic attacks) it's all in the same fic, the scene described with NHS and WQ happens in chapter 9
NOT FOUND! Tempo Rubato by Spodumene (E, 107k, WangXian, Modern AU, Angst with a Happy Ending, Romance, Persuasion au, Separations, Mutual Pining, Depression, Miscommunication, Emotional Roller Coaster, Implied/Referenced Self-Harm, Reconciliation, Eventual Smut, Jane Austen Fusion, Underage Kissing) the tiger seal security and musical part reminds me of tempo rubato. i wasn't sure this was the fic since the other parts doesn't match, but since u mentioned u might have mixed up different fics, i might as well put this here

17. I'm looking for a fic where the night after Wei Ying tries to run away and is brought back by the Jiang children, someone (either Madam Yu or the Head Disciple) mentions they'll need to talk to the night watch, because 'three children shouldn't be able to slip away at separate times without being noticed' (Not quite a direct quote but alpng those lines.)
~*~
18. Hi, I'm looking for a fic where Wei Ying has amnesia and thinks hes a ghost who haunts lotus pier and is really out of it and convinced hes dead. Good ending, just cant find it. @quxxnrandonmness27

19. I am looking for a fic for a while. It would be really great if you are able to find it. There was a scene where a a baby Lan sect disciple challenges LWJ for a duel to marry WWX. It was an adorable scene where the lan child confuses WWX platonic cheek kiss and concludes that he has to fight for his Wei-qianbei’s honour (even though he is intimidated by Hanguang-jun). Thank you in advance!!
Hello it’s the requester for no. 19 from the recent fic finder. Thank you so much for the quick response. The fic you found was really similar to the one I was looking for and I enjoyed it. Although it was not the fic I had in mind(I guess it is a scene from a larger work or it may be deleted). But, nevertheless I really a thankful for the mods and others who are so enthusiastic and helpful!!! I hope you have a great day!!

Hello there! So, I'm still settling into my first year of college (oh boy) and I've determined that the time allotted in my schedule is too much for a normal part-time job. That being said, I do have spare time, it's just not in good places for me to get my homework done as well. I want to do well with college, but I also still need an income. So!
I am going to try doing commissions. They'll be written, of course. Fanfiction or fiction, whichever you prefer, but I'll get into more detail below the cut.
What can I request?
I'm a member of a few fandoms here on tumblr, and I've actually written fanfiction for Five Nights at Freddy's (of all options, I have the most experience with this one), Bendy and the Ink Machine, and Hollow Knight. I'd be willing to also try writing for Ace Attorney, Six of Crows, Stardew Valley, and Supernatural, since those are some of the fandoms I'm most familiar with.
I am experienced in writing plenty of regular fiction as well, so don't be shy about asking me to write stuff about OCs or just a general idea you had and wanted to see written out on the page. Just make sure you give me a prompt for what you'd like to see!
I can also do poetry. I don't write it as often (which is why you rarely see it on my blog), but I tend to write in free-verse, which is a fancy word for saying I don't follow poetry rules. I can follow poetry rules, but it'll probably take me longer to complete a poem.
I won't do 18+ content though. Sorry, but if I'm going to test that boundary, it'll be in my own time. Commissions are for the things I'm comfortable writing, and 18+ isn't that. So I will refuse to do any of that.
What about romance? Is that something you're comfortable writing?
I don't have full confidence in my ability to deliver good romantic stories right now. I can do a really slow burn, and I'm decent at romantic tension, but that tends to be more open for readers interpretation. You can request romance, but if it's not up to your standards, I apologize in advance.
What is your writing like?
I feel like this one kind of explains itself, but in case it doesn't, I have pieces of my writing scattered around two blogs and an Ao3 account. The blogs are @cloudwhisper23 and @cloudthenightguard, and the Ao3 account is under CloudWhisper23 as well. On both blogs, my writing tag is #cloud writes, which hopefully will make it easier for you to search for samples of my writing on both.
What about pricing? And expected time of delivery?
I write short stories on a 1,000+ basis, with the minimum being $10 USD, but I won't do more than 10,000, and I'd appreciate if you tipped me more than that (But you don't have to. I get that other people may not have much extra to give)
Poetry is a bit different though, and I'd be more willing to do it at $5 USD, but I'd prefer to write in free verse.
Payment will be done through PayPal, or Ko-Fi but depending on requests, I may be willing to consider other alternatives.
Naturally, the timing of delivery will depend on several factors. Obviously the shorter works are ones I can get to people in shorter periods of time, but depending on what I'm writing, it'll be a bit of experimentation on my part for certain things. I cannot promise an estimate without knowing what I'm meant to be writing. Certain things require further research, or knowledge about characters that I simply don't possess. If it's an OC issue, I'll ask directly, but as for more fandom based characters, I will likely do my own research.
If you have any questions I haven't covered, feel free to DM me or send an anonymous ask!
I am human, and I can't promise that I will think of every question you'll possibly ask. So please, if there's something you're not sure of, let me know so I can try to work through it with you. If you're not sure what you want, but you do know that you want something, we can brainstorm together to figure out what works best for you!
