"absolutely not," daryl snarks resoloutely, sliding the strap of his crossbow over his plain black poncho.
"you're gonna get cold, daryl," you worry, following him around your shared room in alexandria as he packs his bag. he shoves his gun, a pack of bullets, an extra knife and some granola bars you made yourself inside it, closing the flap with a little more force than necessary.
you know you're being a worry wart. you know it's not even remotely cold enough for him to require any more winter accessories, but you can't stop thinking about how cold he must've been all those months alone in his camp.
"i ain't wearing matching pink hat 'n gloves, woman," he scoffs, looping his bag around his shoulders. "'sides, it's not even winter yet. quit yer worryin'."
"it's windy! your ears are gonna get cold!" you exclaim. "and there wasn't any other wool, s'not like i did it on purpose!"
you did do it on purpose. but he doesn't need to know that. (he does).
"pup," he sighs, "a little wind ain't gonna kill me. might even be good for me-- fresh air and all tha'. i don't need those."
you pout a little, open your eyes wide and pinck your eyebrows with your head tilted slightly forward. daryl narrows his gaze and points a finger accusingly, "don't do tha'."
"do what?" you ask innocently, batting your lashes.
he scowls. "y'know what."
you intensify your stare, pouting even more and even pressing your hands together in prayer, hat and gloves between your palms. "please?"
his firm glare relaxes ever so slightly before he seems to think better of it. "puppy dog eyes aren't gonna work this time, sunshine."
"i just want you to be safe and warm, daryl," you say sweetly, completely undettered. "please? for me?"
it's a tense standoff, you in your yellow pijamas and daryl in his usual all black ensemble. you know you've won when his shoulders finally drop and he heaves an exhausted sigh. "fine, gimme them."
you squeal and skip over to him, placing the hat over his head and fixing his long hair so it doesn't cover his eyes. you hand him the gloves. "y'can put these away in your bag just because they might make driving a little difficult. but you put 'em on whenever you're on foot, you hear me?" you say sternly.
daryl rolls his eyes but nods anyway, which makes it good enough for you. then you're back to cooing at him, framing his face with your hands and peppering sweet kisses all over his cheeks and nose. "oh, you look so pretty" this and "i wish i had a camera" that.
"okay, okay," he says, escaping your grabby hands. "i gotta go now. you be good, okay? and make sure dog doesn't bring 'nother walker foot."
"yes, sir!" you salute him, then quickly give him one last kiss on his chapped lips before he opens the basement door. "be safe. love you!"
"love ya," he echoes, closing the door behind him.

daryl pretends he can't feel the funny looks the rest of the alexandrian's are giving him as they pass him by.
he's waiting by the gates for carol. sees her rounding the corner and prepares himself for whatever she might say to him.
she freezes in place when she finally notices him, a few feet away from where his standing. when she finally seems to realise that her eyes are not lying to her, she approaches him slowly, doing him the favour of covering her mouth to not make her amusement obvious. it doesn't work very well because he can still hear a couple giggles.
"not a word," he growls, swinging his leg over his bike.
"whatever you say, barbie," she laughs, patting his shoulder.

idk if this is confirmed or if im insane but i feel like dan in his why i quit youtube video was talking about how he felt like there was Dan content and Dan And Phil content and how he felt like he was split between them....i wonder if hes trying both to see what he still likes to do. he had his internet show and now danandphilgamws is back like. i have a feeling he's trying to figure things out rn
i think dan ultimately wants to do his own thing and has a lot of ideas and aspirations, specifically he wants to be a stage comedian like his passion is clearly for live performances and while the comedy bit is still being fine tuned (i'm not saying he's bad, in fact he's kinda good ngl, but he definitely has a way to go if he wants to be Great) the performance part he's got DOWN like say what you want about that man but he ooowwwnnnsss a stage. also he's weirdly great at audience interaction lmao? that was my main takeaway from we're all doomed, both the pre show and the show itself, he deals with heckling like.. AMAZINGLY well. he's genuinely hilarious responding to an audience like i never thought i'd say this a few years ago but i think he might actually have a future in live comedy lmao????
but i also think he.. needs money LOL like he's said many a time he doesn't really love being a full time youtuber, but also he does enjoy making youtube videos! just, you know.. not full time. but while on his own channel making Daniel Howell(tm) videos he puts a lot of pressure on himself, and then if he does a slightly less high pressure series or whatever (dystopia daily) it's relatively well received and the videos are good enough but like.. it's not the traction he wants, nor the traction he needs
ultimately dan knows that if he wants to keep and potentially build an audience online that lies in Dan And Phil. it always has and it always will. and i think for a long time he struggled with that, and as much as people gave him shit for it i completely get it. like, lmao, of COURSE he wants to be recognised for his own abilities and not just the dynamic and chemistry he's got going with... his literal partner. honestly it would be one thing if dnp were just comedy partners because there are a lot of comedy duos on the world who've made it big, but i think there's something about it being him and his full time actual real life boyfriend/life partner that kinda makes it weird. and as much as i love the dnp dynamic i still do get that feeling so much like honestly who can blame him ?? if your entire professional life is just.. your personal life but on camera ? that's weird. it's gotta feel weird and it's definitely unfulfilling for someone as aspirational as dan and i can't blame him at all for it
that being said, dan clearly does really enjoy making videos with phil. which yeah of course he does, he gets to just turn on a camera and talk shit with the guy he talks shit with all day long anyway. and i think what he's now realised is 1. if he wants to keep/build an audience, the dan and phil branding is where it's at and 2. he needs an income while he works on whatever solo projects he's got going on, and dnp makes a loooot of money
basically my point is - dan seems to really enjoy making videos with phil but he knows that's not really a life long career choice. as much as i'd love them to, it's not really an option for them to be playing sims when they're like, sixty. and while phil is relatively chill and seems to just take things as they come, which tbh is probably the healthiest way of doing things, dan is very overthinking and wants to get ahead of everything and also in general just like.. he wants to build a career! he wants to build something on his own and i can't fault him for that at all. dan knows that one day he's gonna need something more than just Dan And Phil if he wants to keep working, and he's laying the groundwork right now to be able to do that
again, though, i don't want anyone to take this as like 'dan is only doing dapg to make money and rebuild a fanbase' because as much as that is definitely a big part of it... just look at the man. in these videos. he's having a great time. and also, as annoying as we are, he does kinda love us. sometimes. maybe. <3

okay, never in a million years do i think max would ever go on reality tv BUT my thoughts if he did under the cut
okay so obviously they see each other for the first time at the wedding and i think the level of attraction is different. like, initially daniel is like, 'okay, he's kinda cute, i can work with this,' whereas max is like, 'oh my god, this man is so beautiful, he is perfect, wow.' but the problem is, max doesn't show that. in fact, max doesnt show much of ANYTHING to begin with, at least not in the way daniel is used to.
because daniel is good at performing right, so when it comes to the vows, he's cracking jokes, making max's mum and victoria laugh (obvs j*s is not there), saying the cheesy shit they all say like 'i knew i wanted to marry you from the moment i met you,' and 'this is a leap of faith but i'm ready to jump with you, baby,' whereas max is like taking it very seriously, almost to the point of like... not seeming into it? like he says stuff like, 'i will try to like you, i hope also that you will like me, i want to be a very good husband,' because thats the truth! he cant lie and say like, he wants to spend his life with daniel, because he doesnt know him yet. but to daniel it seems a little...cold, so he's not sure how to feel about his new husband.
at the reception, max is even more awkward, doesn't know how to start conversation and barely answers the questions daniel asks him.
'what music do you like?' 'i do not listen to a lot of music.'
'what do you do for fun?' 'i like to play fifa.'
'what do you do for a job?' 'i am a car mechanic.'
and daniel is sinking lower and lower into his chair like, fuck, what have i done, i've got to spend the next few weeks with a guy who clearly doesnt have any social skills. meanwhile, max is like, wow, daniel wants to know so much about me:) he is a good listener:) he is doing all the talking because he can tell this is hard for me:) or something lol. doesnt realise hes being rude, he just- he cant do this with the camera in his face, okay?
then in the bedroom, on their wedding night max realises that maye its not been going as well as he thought because he tries to kiss daniel, but daniel just laughs, stepping away gently and saying, 'guess ill take the couch right?' because he thinks that. well max is really young? what if hes just in this for the fame, the quick money, what if hes doing this now because he feels he has to? daniel doesnt want it to be like that, okay. its not what hes here for. but to max, he's like. oh:(. he'd thought- but of course daniel doesnt want to sleep in the bed with him, because look at him and look at daniel.
then i think the misscommunication continues for a bit of their honeymoon. they both think the other doesnt like each other, and max says even less now because if daniel doesnt want to even kiss him, then what is the point trying to be husbands? so they avoid each other a little, until daniel eventually thinks, fuck it, i gotta *try*, because he cant have max say leave and go home in the first week okay? his friends (michael) bullied him so badly for doing this, so it has to be worth it.
so he sneaks max out to some romantic beach picnic without the cameras (btw theyre in the caribbean or something idk), gets them both tipsy and he asks, 'why did you even come on the show?' and because the cameras arent here, max can be honest and say, 'my sister, she has two babies. and i tried to find somebody who would want this also, but with me. but always, men wanted sex and then when instead i tried to go for breakfast the next day, they would just laugh and leave. maybe it is because i am bad at it, but i did not do it at all for a long time, because my dad-'
and then max breaks off, and daniel tugs him into his arms and is like, 'its okay max. somebody to build a life with, thats what i wanted too.' then he kisses max, and it's not like on the wedding day, a peck in front of their parents, it's deep and there's tongue and max can't help but push for more and more, to push daniel back into the sand and grind against him until daniel is like, 'why dont i be the judge of how bad you really are?' and then they have like, mindblowing sex over and over, for the rest of the honeymoon.
and im not saying the sex like, fixes everything, but i think max feeling wanted sexually by daniel soothes a lot of the insecurities inside him that were making it hard for him to open up to him in other ways? like the next morning in bed he's a little shy when daniel cracks a load of jokes about how very much not bad in bed he is, but he’s also laughing and laughing, and when daniel starts a conversation over breakfast, suddenly max is chatting his ear off. and he is still is a little awkward infront of the cameras, but in private, they start to build something real. he can banter back with daniel now, give as good as he gets, even if the jokes are dorky and not funny to anyone else. to daniel they're cute and because he knows what max was like before, he can see how hard max is trying.
and daniel doesnt know when it happens, but one day everythinggg max does just becomes endearing. all of max's little quirks, his bluntness, his black and white thinking, daniel realises this is max and he really really likes max. max isnt pumping his tires because he wants something from daniel, he genuinely thinks daniel is hilarious and sexy and kind. and because daniel knows this, he feels he can be *real* with max, in a way hes never been before? like, max likes daniel the showman, but he also just likes daniel.
i genuinely think its like, a whirlwind romance after that. they tell each other they love each other before they even come back from the honeymoon, the viewers at home are rolling their eyes declaring it will never last.
but it does :) after the initial struggle, they become the low maintenance couple that just vibe the whole time lol. daniel waffle's about how much they get on with each other at each comittment ceremony, while max is like, 'yes things are good:)' and dies inside the time the intimacy expert asks if theyve had sex or not, and how was it. daniel just winks and says no complaints, but refuses to give anymore away bc thats private and he knows max doesnt want it out there.
the only time they get into any drama is when daniel sticks up for max, declaring his love publically to the group for the first time, when one of the girls is being mean and saying that max has the personality of a cabbage and she doesnt understand what daniel sees in him. or when max (bc he’s defo the one to get put with the girls even though it should be daniel) gets a little outwardly jealous when all the girls answer 'daniel' when asked who they think the hottest husband is at those awkward group days (shoutout to the episode that aired just haha) but inside he’s preening, like, hell yeah, thats my man.
then when it ends, they post an update on insta like, yeah we are still together, here are our two cats & also we got married for real:)

This is the anon who just watched bottle rocket. I found a 25min behind the scenes for it on youtube, and that was. One of the funniest things I have ever watched. There was precisely one (1) woman on there who remembered they were supposed to be promoting the film and fully everyone else is sitting about going 'I dunno man, it just sort of happened ¯\_(ツ)_/¯' The biggest actor they got goes 'I popped over for three days, how am I supposed to remember anything?' Someone says 'we were in talks about making the movie but they'd never even read the script aloud even though they were all living together ...' and another goes 'I'd come in to give them notes and could not for the life of me figure out what they thought about them ...' Then even the one woman who knows what she's on camera for goes 'they're brilliant boys, but they kept sort of just ... wandering off???' and yet another says 'I struggled to find evidence that they ever did any work. I mean presumably they did because a script landed on my table and it was brilliant, but I coulda sworn they weren't doing a thing.'
[The actor playing Bob's older brother yeets in to say "don't buy Owen and Wes' 'aw shucks' act they know exactly what they're doing]
Cue Wes "aw shucks I knew what I wanted the sets to look like but what even is lighting 😆" and Own "aw shucks I'm pretty sure the studio just took us on because they saw us floundering around and figured somone's gotta bite the bullet and throw us a line 😆"
Then all together they go: "and in conclusion we had a bucket of laughs and loved the film but test audiences hated it soooo bad and Sundance wouldn't even take it lol" at which point they all suddenly recall they're supposed to be doing promo and not recounting 'my one weird year with Wes' and speedrun through "Oh right and then it got a great review from a major magazine and a cult following and it's a great film you should go watch it byeeeeee!"
And they're right. It IS a great film and everyone should go watch it. 10 out of 10 perfect crew, perfect bonus features.

Btw just to add a fun easter egg element to your watching progress, the actor who plays Bob's older brother is actually Owen and Luke's older brother Andrew (which likely goes a long way towards him being like yeah no don't fall for Wes and Owen's bs 🤣) and Owen loves having him on set so if you keep an eye out you may see (and sometimes hear!) quite a few cameos of his 😉

my favourite author is my inspiration, my muse, my mentor, my lover, my best friend—my rahrah!! no like fr tho i don't think i would have taken up writing seriously if it hadn't been for her. i got into writing as a means to like extend my overactive imagination onto somehwere so i didn't care about making it sound coherent or like organised until i met my favourite author. i read her stuff and it made me realise ah well fuck i gotta pull my shit together and took a hiatus from writing while trying different genres ( i had never wrote a drop of angst before that) and tried to replicate her writing by reading dozens of romantic era poetries because when i tell you her writing is literally flowing poetry while heavily based on action. like. you're behind the camera with her as she effortlessly narrates what is happening ad though youre experiencing it herself. it's safe to say ill never be able to reach her level but i geneuienly feel so blessed that i can call her my best friend and send my stuff to her bc like i dont think world recognition would as much her word does to me.

who else other than @wildernessuntothemselves i had stopped reading on tumblr becase everything I was reading was getting boring and so many people were deactivating, UNTIL I stumbled across like this one drabble of yeonjun from them and oh my GOD WHEN I SAY SOME EMOTIONS WERE UNLOCKED IN ME it's like i had opened this whole new fucking chest of wonderful things—this is when i realised how much into dark stuff i am. and I feel like I really clicked with their writing because their dark writing, the obsessions and themes stems from the things like love which is like the best kind of motivation ever lmao ( it sounds so weird trust me im not a coherent person) and SO I READ ALL DO THEIR WORK, and again and again so i finished the loser lover series, the enhypen series they had and it was during yaqmn when i realised im into this shit for like i was SO FREAKING INTO IT like beomgyu is my favourite character ever from them ( close second to taehyun in hogwarts au sshhhhh) but yeah yaqmn made me realise that i wanna stay on tumblr but like also interact with them and be active in my own writing endeavours. also the author gave legit introduced me to so many cool authors with similar writing tropes and I am so so so thankful that I have found this side.
@hyewka gotta thank mort for introducing me to THE WONDERFUL WORKS OF rana like fr tho, like from the first story it was a hit on the nail on me. i love love love the way rana writes so so so much like they way they articulate their works, the whole situation and the emotions and their TROPES AGH CHEFS KISS. i love that their works are so long because it leaves room for me to see the development between the two characters making it feel so much worthwhile when they fuck in the end lmao like even their toxic works ( BRO HOW DO THEY ARTICULATE THEIR TOXIC CHARACTERS SO WELL) LIKE I'm literally always in awe bc it doesn't ever come off surface level? it's always so so detailed in the plain sight like whatever fucked up shit they do it notion they have it comes off genuine like this person isn't a caricature which is so hard to pull off. i can only ever wish to ever plot a detailed one shot like rana.
@itz-yerin the angst queen fr she is. okay but i know yerin is quite literally famous for her angsts( I'll come back this later) but what drew me to her stories were the fluffs. as someone who doesn't write fluffs because i feel i come off phony ( wow go off edgelord) but dude i read works and the way it's crafted with so much simplicity and love that you genuinely feel the love the characters have for each other and its done in the most mundane situations of life and i love that so much!!!
and her angst too omg, like i think ive never seen anyone tumblr yet use the trope she does in her angst and it's such a wonderful touch that makes me wanna keep reading ans ik most of her works don't really have a happy ending but it creates such a bittersweet ending that leaves this biting feeling in your heart. yerin truly the queen of hurt-hurt genre.
@channoticedmeuwu i know i haven't read much of kai's works YET BUT BRO listen the drabbles that ive read from like the flow of them genuinly makes me believe it's like those pretty lores and fairy tales that you are meant to narrate out out. the vocabulary choices and the way she structures her sentences gives me so so much joy like a number of time. ive literally sat there in awe rereading her sentences again and again. ALSO PACING!! the pacing makes me feeling like I'm walking the character, sometimes they way it indulges you into storyline is literally so magical. i swear to god i wish i could write like that man it's so so so soooo pretty!!
@ox1-lovesick was legit gobsmacked by sav's writing the first time i read them. it's so beautiful, and it's like so soft that makes you feel like. you have something swirling on the pit of the stomache—the fluff is so genuine and it doesn't come off performative at all WHICH IS LIKE SO FUCKING HARD TO DO?! bc you're reading stuff so you feel like ah yes I need to make them look like they are in love BUT NOT SAV even if it's the shortest passage the way they write genuinely makes you see the love the characters share and im out here shoving a pillow in my mouth or SHOVING IT IN THERE TO STOP laughing like THEY ARE SO FUNNY?!? SO FUCKIN FUNNY LIKE THEIR ONE LINERS GET ME SM OR SOME SHIT THEY WRITE LIKE got me giggling and cackling like a witch.

In regards to your TikTok vent (which was totally justified like wtf) I think some kids just get really into like a man with a life filled with tragedy? Idk how to explain it, but it’s like they have a thing for men who have a life filled with trouble and pain. So they exaggerate Colby’s Emo-ness to be filled with self harm, depression, SA and more. I have no way to explaining it but I know people have mentioned how they enjoy reading books with the main male character like that and I feel like it translates to real life people too.

i think part of your ask is right. i think there are a lot of fans that are drawn to this darker side of colby, whether true or not.
i think as young women, we do get taught a lot that "bad boys" are really just good guys that are rough around the edges. they're the ones with a dark past and are emotionally constipated. we as women need to "fix" them - be their therapist, mom, gf all in one (even if at the risk of losing ourselves). and i think this notion also gets passed onto guys that girls are into, whether this is something they want or not.
you can't fix someone. it's not your job to do that to your partner. and if someone is really that "broken", they need professional help. you can't put that pressure on yourself.
that being said, i think your idea isn't the full reason why these lies are being spread on tiktok. i mean, trying to give an explanation as to why ppl lie is already a feat to make. i bet there are fans that just lie just to see if ppl will believe it. and i think what makes that worse is that no one follows up something when they see someone make a statement.
for example, the "elton making colby show his sh scars to a camera": the one tiktok i saw that talked about this (now idk if they are the originator so i'll cut them some slack), when asked when did this happen, only said "it was during a livestream that's been deleted". and hilariously, i've also heard someone else say it was actually a video but elton took it down. the problem with this is that of course giving this as the "proof" basically means you can make up whatever as long as you say the proof was deleted. but my main issue with this is that 1, elton and snc haven't collabed since 2019, which means that 2, if this did happen, why did no one talk about it until 2022???? you're telling me for three years, no one said anything. but a random fan on tiktok was able to unearth this event that unfolded, only to not give proof bc it was a livestream that was deleted???? which then means 3, how the fuck would you know this was a thing??????
i will say, the snc fandom on tiktok HATE elton. like, even more than i do. but i think they try too hard to make elton the bad guy. like, elton has done enough fucked up shit. you don't gotta lie to make him look bad lol
not to mention, especially with this particular topic, colby has outright said that he's never had depression, has never hurt himself, and doesn't feel comfortable giving advice on this type of stuff. so… what about that screams "i've suffered with depression and self harming"?????
i also believe that a lot of fans take things out of context and just run buckwild with it. like the clip from the awesomenesstv video where they do the lie detector and colby says they had a roommate that they felt used them. ppl immediately said "oh it's about elton" when in reality it was about aaron when they didn't get along for a month after moving out. but bc a lot of fans have just gotten into the fandom, they don't know all the lore. which is really my main problem with the tiktok fandom: they don't know everything and thus connect dots that aren't there.
and all of this is tiring as an older fan not only bc i know the truth, but bc NO ONE ELSE IN THE COMMENTS IS ARGUING WITH THEM. i barely see any comments trying to say "hey guys, this didn't happen", so it's hard for me to want to do that either. that's why i make the joke that i might have to start an snc tiktok just to tell fans that none of this shit is real and someone is lying to you.

Just like, imagine him sitting behind the desk, cracking jokes and calling fights and shit but all the while squirming in his chair with increasing frequency because the dumb motherfucker has been drinking whatever anyone hands him aaaallllll night because they're sooooooo happy to have him back and Ace insists that he stay hydrated and on top of that he forgoes a bathroom break even when he knew he wouldn’t be able to leave once the fights began. So imagine him getting more flustered on his mic until he finally decides to let a little out because he’s wearing a dark suit right? Who would notice in the shadows under his desk with all the other smells flying around? But oh no! He’s gotta go be a good ring girl and interview the sweaty victor in that extremely well-lit cage! Whatever will he do? Well he's gonna get up and do his job, that's what he's gonna do, he's not an idiot and the kid standing in the ring is obviously looking forward to another interview from his favorite crestfallen martyr. After that maybe the thrill of the post-match buzz gets him out of his head but as he's interviewing a man he's been sweatily calling "big boy" all night, he feels himself leak. And it's not a lot, just a couple drops, but he still freezes and silently prays a million miles a second to gods he doesn't believe in that it doesn't show through his pants. And maybe it doesn't! Maybe it happens as the other guy is talking and he quips to make up for the brief look of horror on his face before scuttling back to commentary to sit in his own cooling piss. Or maybe it does! Maybe he can't stop it in time and enough comes out to leave a big pathetic dark stain down the leg of his pants. Maybe the camera guy is merciful and keeps the shot tight, or maybe he's cruel and stays right where all the divorced dads, frat bros, and fangirls (gn) can see on their tvs and phones and laptops. Maybe the fighter feels bad and lends Punk his sweaty towel for decency's sake, or maybe he would if he could stop giggling. But don't look now! A flood of relief washes over him as he pulls the very convenient crushed empty water bottle out of his pocket, cracks an off-the-top pee joke, and strides back to commentary with his bladder still full and adrenaline coursing through his veins at almost looking like an incontinent old man in front of what seemed liked the entire world. Either way he's home free, right? Well, what if that fighter Punk interviewed comes up to him later and chats him up a little, gets him alone, and as Punk attempts to end the conversation and find a damn bathroom, the other guy gets up real close and lets Punk know he could smell it on him and would very much like to see him finish his business which gets Punk VERY flustered but also intrigued at the young man's boldness aaaand etc etc, you feel my insanity. Or you don't. I put a cut for a reason lol

2x02 and the symbolism of the final scene
Ask and ye shall receive lol (albeit belatedly, because I was at a family reunion all weekend haha)
Analysis under the cut because it is so goddamn long. Sigh.
Alright, let's talk symbolism, because oh man this scene is full of it.
Firstly, I gotta say that I love that it's Fi's mother who recites the prayer. Maybe that's a typical traditional thing, I don't know; but I do know that in a show that is all about incredible mothers and the lengths they will go to for their children, it feels so appropriate that it is the matriarch of the family that leads this service rather than Marco's father, who at all other times has acted like he believes he is the head of the family (regardless of whether the other family members agree with that or not).
And so as Alma starts to speak the prayer, the camera first focuses on Fi and Chris, who are looking at each other (and her with her hand rubbing his back) as the voiceover says the words "We entrust our son to your mercy. Please forgive his sins, especially those that are unconfessed." To me, these words are absolutely intended to relate to Chris and Fi and the unconfessed sin/secret of his killing Marco, and Fi's desperate hope that Chris will be granted mercy/not be punished for it. And then as the camera shot moves to include Marco's dad as well (when the voiceover is still saying "those that are unconfessed",) you could also take that as Jacinto not knowing the extent of Marco's sins, because of course in Catholicism, confessions are made to the Father (aka, priest, as in "Forgive me Father for I have sinned"), and so unconfessed in this context could equate to a father who doesn't know the truth about his son's sins, as we have already seen by the way he talks about Marco like he was a golden child. The camera then skips Alma and moves on to Thony (with Jazz in the shot too, but out of focus and in the background; narratively, she's practically not even present)-- showing Thony staring at the photo with a gaze that looks distant and unfocused as the voiceover says "May your perpetual light shine upon him". And I honestly don't doubt at all that she is thinking of Marco in this moment; a moment of apology, of forgiveness, and of wishing him peace in the perpetual light of his god.
(Brief sidenote: I find it interesting that the writers chose to have Thony be a Buddhist despite her husband and his parents being Catholic; maybe it was simply due to their origins, ie Cambodia vs the Philippines, or maybe it was a deliberate choice to further demonstrate that she and Marco were at odds in many ways, including their value systems? And the very astute @enigmaticfox also pointed out that during the funeral, the rest of the family is dressed in cream/white accented with a small amount of black, contrasting with Thony in her solid black outfit. Given that she wore that outfit while meeting with a criminal to protect Arman, maybe in a way it represents her ties to that more 'shadowy' world, and how she walks the line between her family's world and Arman's world. Or maybe it actually means nothing, and putting the widow in all black just seemed fitting! Equally possible lol)
But anyhow. Back to Thony, who as the camera focuses on her, is silently saying a final, permanent goodbye to her husband, wishing him the peace of that perpetual light. And then what immediately follows that? Her voice taking up the prayer, but not over a shot of Marco's altar, or of Luca, or even the family as a whole. To them, of course, Alma is still the one speaking aloud; it is only us and Thony who hear the words that are spoken in her head (or maybe, in her heart; ok now I'm showing my sappy side here lol)-- and thanks to the choice the showrunners made with this scene, we see exactly where her attention goes when those words are spoken. Because naturally, along with thoughts of Marco-- the man she once loved, who represents her past-- come thoughts of Arman, the man she is falling in love with, and who represents her future. The wording of the prayer itself is incredible (and as far as I can determine, was written specifically for the show, which means every word was chosen deliberately to contribute to this scene in some way) and while certainly I don't pretend to be a literary scholar or a theologist, I am very familiar with this show lol, so here's some of the imagery/thoughts that this wording evokes for me:

(from prison, from Hayak, the role he was forced into)
Through your blood on the cross
(he has paid in his own blood and the blood of others; he is the 'son' placed on the cross by the father)
Through the blows to your face
(the beating he took; the times he has had to 'turn the other cheek' and obey Hayak)
And through the crown of your thorns that pierce your head
(the burden he bore of being the right hand man; a prince with a shiny crown, but one that also came with a painful price)
Deliver him from all evil
(from the danger in prison; from the evil in his criminal world)
From the rigour of injustice
(Garrett putting him in jail/breaking their deal, the betrayal of his little prison crew)
From the torment of conscience
(allowing him to make peace with the bad things he has done; maybe even specifically conscience relating to Hayak's death)
And from all darkness
(letting him escape the dark/criminal life)
Welcome him into paradise
(being in love, finally having the freedom to make his own choices)
Where there will be no more sorrow
(because he will finally be truly happy, something he never quite reached in the life he was living before Thony)
No more weeping or pain
(free of the pain Hayak caused, and the pain he himself inflicted under Hayak's orders)
Give him the blessings of the life to come
(the joy and love of a life with Thony)
As he enters into the kingdom of peace and light
(his journey to becoming a good man who is at peace with himself)

Is all of the above actually the intended meaning, or just me making shit up? Who the hell knows! But the writers really did seem to be saying something with their choice of words and camera shots, and this is what I got and I'm rolling with it lol
Also just to be clear: when I say Arman's going to leave the criminal life and become a good man, I definitely don't mean immediately. It's going to be a gradual journey, and Thony will be the main one who helps him on it. (I expect the connections he forms with Thony's family will also play a role, as will Nadia, both directly and indirectly).
And speaking of Nadia, I honestly love the way she stares at him when he walks out of the prison-- like she is seeing him for the first time, or at the very least, like she can see that there has been a huge change in him even if she doesn't know what it is. (I honestly don't think it's his bruises that she's staring at; she likely got to see him in the infirmary, and even if she didn't, her expression here is closer to wonder than the horror and dismay that you'd expect from someone seeing their loved one injured-- aka Thony's reaction when she saw them). And so when Nadia takes his sunglasses off, I feel like it's her trying to see what it is that's different, to understand who this new Arman is; and in doing so, she takes that first step for him in removing the 'mask' that he's wearing and revealing just a small glimpse of his new, changed self. The self that is free from Hayak, and who walks away with the power that comes from having Hayak's money under his control-- (at least as far as I can tell, since he should have access to those accounts that Hayak gave him the pin to, right?)-- and who finally gets to decide exactly what kind of man he will be, what kind of life he will lead, and who he will share that life with. I strongly suspect that he will face a fairly large setback in that regard very soon due to Robert forcibly inserting himself into the business/their lives, and forcing him to direct his focus elsewhere yet again; which will likely mean that a lot of this season will be about Arman fighting to get back to that beautiful freedom and future that he has only just barely had a chance to taste as he walks out of the prison gates.
I also feel like that's why we didn't see Arman and Nadia kiss in this scene-- even though it undoubtedly followed moments later, the writers chose not to show it, and in doing so maybe they are telling us that the romantic aspect of Arman and Nadia's relationship is secondary to the other role that their relationship will fulfil this season, which is to be each other's mirror, showing the other how much they are changing and how their individual wants and priorities are starting to move away from one another's. Because lbr here, they have known each other better than anyone else for years at this point, and so Nadia's insights and responses to his future actions/choices are going to be a huge part of his character growth this season. As will his connection with Thony, of course, but in a different way; Nadia shows him who he was, while Thony shows him who he could be, and between the two of them, he will learn how to become the man he wants to be.
And honestly, even though the role Nadia has to play in Arman's arc will likely come with some intense angst (both Arman-specific and also Armony-related) that will be hard to watch, I am going to love every minute of that journey.
And I hope you guys do too.

Happiness doesn't come from grades, it comes from BooSeokSoon!
Appreciation post for BSS and their amazing comeback after five years ♡
I haven't been a fan of Seventeen for too long, but I love Just Do It and Hoshi and DK are my number one and two biases, so I was as hyped as everyone else for BSS' comeback in February! This is just a post for me to gush about how much I loved everything about it.
LEAD-UP PROMOTIONS
Pledis pulled a sneaky way of announcing the comeback by posting a hidden tweet with their signature "Ladies and gentlemen, they call us BSS" but the fans found it and Caratland freaked out! After that, everything that was teased prior to the album's release just continued to build on the hype. From the teaser images, we could see that there was a sports concept that coupled well with the album name Second WInd, and also that they would probably be faithful to the silly charm that we love about BSS rather than go for a more mature concept.
The whole rolllout was incredibly well-thought-out and cohesive. The highlight melody in particular was genius. Modeled after a fitness or training app, the members take turns acting as your voice coach, and they each introduce a song that coincides with a time of day - morning, afternoon, and evening. Basically, they want our entire day filled with BSS and I'm not complaining. I was super excited to hear a bit of the featured artists as well!
GOING BSS
We got two special episodes for BSS, rejoice! These episodes were filmed in the mockumentary style following the members as they prepare for the comeback, and they are honestly some of my favorite in all of Going Seventeen. Everything was just so funny and unhinged - the dialogue, the presentations, the side interviews, the camera work, even the comedic cuts and timing worked into the editing. And BSS are the perfect members to take on the mockumentary format because they have absolutely no shame and will do anything for the sake of humor. Almost as funny as seeing the members commit so hard to acting out their ridiculous ideas is seeing them break character. I don't know how they filmed any of this with a half-straight face, staff included. The cameo appearances were great! Woozi deserves a raise for doing his part semi-seriously in a space helmet, and my favorite was Dino giving 1000% as the flamboyant Mr. Cha lol.
ALBUM + MUSIC VIDEO
The music video for Fighting dropped at 11 PM on a Sunday night for me but I was up and waiting from the live countdown. I loved the song and video immediately on the first watch. Fighting is incredibly catchy and energetic, and the song structure is really interesting, particularly the rap bridge that leads into a musical-esque second bridge. BSS were serving as vocal kings all around with harmonies, ad libs, and high notes - even Hoshi! And Lee Youngji absolutely SLAYED her rap. When I took the time to read the lyrics I found them very relatable, motivating, and quintessentially BSS. In a nutshell, life just sucks sometimes but you still gotta keep fighting! And BSS will be there rooting for you (literally, they say "we're your BSS" who is "here to sing this song for you").
The music video was a perfect fit for the song. It was full of colorful outfits and sets, energetic backup dancers and extras, a bit of humor and a super fun choreography. BSS looked incredible and I could feel their energy and how much fun they were having through the screen. I watched the video a good three times straight after it dropped before going on to listen to the rest of the album.
And the other two tracks didn't disappoint either! LUNCH, which is meant to be a late afternoon pick-me-up, is pretty quirky and while not my taste initially, it definitely grew on me. It's really cute how the members are "cooking" up a song to deliver to you, wherever you may be in the universe (or multiverse). 7PM was the song I was looking forward to the most after hearing it in the highlight melody and it was just what I was hoping for. It's a warm hug at the end of a long day. The members’ voices are beautiful and soothing, and the lyrics are simple but sentimental. Peder Elias features and actually sings the whole second half of the song. I was a little conflicted because I would have preferred a shorter feature or at least finishing out the last chorus with BSS, but he has a wonderful voice that fit perfectly with the vibe. And it’s nice to have a part that's easy for me to sing since it's in English haha.
PROMOTIONS PERIOD
The promotions period was no doubt short but sweet. It was only one week but BSS' three music show performances absolutely delivered. They performed with live vocals, unveiled the entire choreography for Fighting, and even brought their two featuring artists with them! Youngji and Peder are such gems, Youngji moved her schedule around to promote with BSS and Peder flew all the way from Norway. Fighting was so much fun to watch each time because of the choreo (super interesting, detailed, creative, and on-brand) and also because of the ad libs that BSS changes up each time. My favorite was Hoshi's shoutout to Coups, Wonwoo and Mingyu for coming to see their Music Bank performance, so wholesome. We also got our ears blessed with two performances of 7PM in a cute outdoor food/drink stand setting. The harmonies in the chorus were so wonderful, and it was cute how they got Peder more involved by having a short dialogue with him at the end of the song.
But my favorite performance of all might actually be their appearance on It's Live. BSS performed with a live band and I truly wish this version could be on Spotify, I love it that much. The video starts off with the members marching in to Fighting (of course). They do a short-ish intro with an overly enthusiastic Hoshi and DK and Seungkwan lamenting about how they get off track when they don't follow the script. Even the band members could help but crack up in the back! Once the performance starts they get totally in the zone and even without dancing, it was so much fun to watch. They killed the vocals, slipped in a bunch of fun ad libs (one by DK had Seungkwan on the floor), and even ran around the whole room to get everyone else to cheer along for the last chorus. It was both extremely chaotic and professional, two things BSS does best.
Oh and as an extra bonus, during the performance period we also got to see BSS doing dance challenges with everyone under the sun and I was living for it!
THE ICONIC CCMA PERFORMANCE
Just after promotions ended, we got to see BSS perform as the ending act at the Circle Chart Music Awards! The boys brought BIG ENERGY. They put on another fantastic performance of Fighting, but what really stole the show was when they brought out Just Do It again. BSS incorporated a little skit with their hair/makeup people at the beginning of the song and sang the first verse up on a raised platform in front of a podium. They sang and danced so well but added an extra silliness to their ad libs and movements that made this five year old song still feel so fresh and fun. During the chanting part of the bridge, BSS ran into the artist audience area and got everyone to join them, then pulled the viral "Next Level" reference in front of aespa before running back on stage to finish up the song. I loved how DK yelled at everyone to congratulate him because it was his birthday lol. The song ended... and then BSS pulled a Seventeen and gave it the never-ending encore treatment!! Iconic, legendary, game-changing. It's crazy how just three members of Seventeen could fill up the entire space with their presence and get everyone in the audience, both fans and artists alike, hyped up with them. Their professionalism and energy continues to amaze me over and over.
EXTRA GOODIES
Finally, we got spoiled with so much extra content to go along with the comeback. Seungkwan guested on Lee Mujin's show (and just recently Jo Hyunah's as well). DK did a video with Dingo where he surprised a fan in order to cheer her up since she had been having a hard time. Hoshi fought his inner introvert and appeared on Suga's drinking show. The list goes on. We even got special performance videos of Fighting and 7PM, plus all the behind-the-scenes.
To wrap this up, I'm just so proud of BSS for everything they've done in this short period of time. It feels like they did it all just for fun and everyone's enjoyment, but the results have spoken for themselves and I'm hoping we'll get to see another comeback sooner than five years.

i don't get what exactly she's trying to accomplish? is she gonna promote the movie at all or will she keep using dune part 2 as a excuse? even though timothee (who is definitely needed more on set) is doing promo for bones & all. sure social media is on her side for now but she's already getting dragged. her saying that women fighting on and off camera is inspiring when she supports jd is peak white feminism.
THE SANDWORM HIMSELF IS OUT TO PROMOTE
Lol the thing is that as much as I don't like Timothee as an actor and find the fascination with him to be, I don't know, maybe a harbinger of the end times, he does seem to be professional, so like. Yeah. He would make it work for his schedule even if he did have to shoot Dune, because the movie he's promoting is a genuine contender for critical darlinghood from a director he has a good collaborative relationship with, who is a name. If not for this haze of venom and drama, I think DWD probably would've had a different critical reaction. Not glowing; but probably polarizing, around that 60% mark where some people are into it and some people go "bro, too much". The way things are promoted do matter, especially in today's world, where so many film critics are less about authentic critique and more about creating a meme or an otherwise viral moment.
And I think that what Timothee and the other young up and comers get, which apparently Florence doesn't, is that their fates and fame... it's not sealed. You don't get to have these types of shenanigans without a care over whether or not someone will cast you before you've got an Oscar in the bag ideally, and a good number of vehicles centered primarily around you for good measure. Julia Roberts could do Aloe Vera and still be America's Sweetheart, in part yes because of the lack of virality at that time, but also because... Nobody cared, she was so solidified by then. Florence's come up is very recent. Midsommar and Little Women were a few years ago. She still hasn't won an Oscar (yet). She took a legit year off, and there was a whole pandemic where the movies weren't a huge priority right after her breakout. There are girls waiting in the wings. Again I say, Zendaya would NEVER--and Zendaya cannot, because she's not white, even though she's much more bankable and tried than Florence.
I'll also add... This is one of two movies that WB pushed to release this year due to their financial troubles, and it's not gonna do what they want now. It's gonna fall on Olivia, but like, the movie industry is misogynistic and they're gonna blame the other woman too. I promise.
I don't know if she's gonna promote this more than she already has, but damn, I genuinely hope there is absolutely nothing that people who aren't happy with her at the moment can leak about her, because.... If I was Olivia Wilde and I had some incriminating texts or vids or whatever to share... Then the smart thing would be to see how the movie is turning out with critics, and strike back after. I'm not saying she should, at all. But....... I don't know. I just don't think this was a good long term move for Florence, and I've gotta think that part of it occurred because she's so online. And the more you're online as a celebrity, the more room there is for skeletons to come out. Everyone should be like Chris Pine with his flip phone.

We're approaching the end of the world. ...for like the... 23rd time in a row. And it falls to us to save it! All on Kamen Rider Revice, Episode 35! ...I uh... heard through the grapevine that there was a bit of an anti-climax, but hopefully it should still be fun! Spoilers, I guess...

-Okay, I don't... hate the idea that Hikaru becomes the new Demons, the way a lot of people seem to. Sure, I would've preferred it if Hiromi finally came back, or even if George decided to grapple with his desire to wear the Driver, but Hikaru's not the worst new Rider I can think of. I understand you may be disappointed, but honestly I'm for this. Any development with Hikaru is welcome, since if he's gonna be a fixture of the cast, he at least should be more interesting than he is. The last time I checked his character entry on TV Tropes, he had one trope associated with him. Now, that is by no means an accurate or full assessment of his character, but he could stand to have some dimension beyond "Ohhhh fuuuuuuck, Sakura!"

-Okay, I think that our next Stamp Sheet Mark is, indeed, Buffalo. That just leaves us two left to wonder about.
-I have a few theories about what those may be.
Assuming the new Libera Driver-like belt isn't just for Tamaki, and is part of some mass production plan like the Demons Driver was said to be last episode, I'm willing to bet we get to see Hana be a Rider at some point, with her own Vistamp. Notice how the plastic flame thingy on the driver kinda looks like dripping honey, and Hana used to use the Queen Bee Vistamp... I'd be very down for that, by the way.
It might be a KickHopper/PunchHopper kinda deal, or like Haruto's Mage apprentices in Wizard where they're working directly under Sakura and learning from her as they fight alongside her.
My question is though... if Hana and Tamaki are indeed both becoming Riders in the coming episodes, is this Driver made specifically for former Giftexes with terminated contracts? Or are there perhaps more adorable marketable inner demons that we can take advantage of? Are we gonna see my man's true hidden buffalo calf spirit? Did he transform his fursona?
Kagerou makes a surprise return! Not in the next episode, obviously, but I do think he, and by extension Evil, will be coming back in some form. Toei has a history of letting badass mechanics go underutilized, but the way Kinoshita's writing Daiji being so singleminded on doing things as morally as possible, I do believe that a return from Evil is indeed likely.
They fill out Hikaru as Over Demons's Genomixes. This is probably the one I'd enjoy the least, considering how many are already available for Hikaru to use, but I think it is also unfortuately very likely. Like I said, I don't hate Hikaru as Demons, but I'd like him to prove himself before he gets any more fancy upgrades.
The Ultimate Revice Stamp (working title). This is pretty self-explanatory, this would be in the final twelve or so episodes, where Ikki and Vice fully affirm their partnership and go Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Ultra Instinct Ego or whatever. I think this is a certainty, but hey, maybe Toei will surprise me.
Gifu's Personal Vistamp for when he becomes the final boss Rider. I'm not trying to predict the show's endgame or anything like that, but I will say, I do think Akaishi solidifying his contract with Gifu in a way reminiscent of Ikki and Vice would make a really cool finale stretch.
Anyways, enough theories from me, SomecallmeJohnny uploaded a big video of him reviewing a bunch of crappy licensed games sent to him by fans over the years. Sorry, this is way more important to me than the world being destroyed by demons.

Kindlin might get all flustered, but that's only because she loves it
Cirrus was the first person in so long to give her so much positivity and she cherishes all of it
So what if
The breaking point for Kindlin trying to leave was because her Mom was gonna come home to visit for her 18th birthday in the next month but she bailed yet again.
This was the 9th month in a row she hadn't come home.
It's when Kindlin realizes her mom missed all her birthdays.
She never really thought about it until this one. Wasn't it supposed to be special? At least to her?
So Kindlin starts looking for a job but can't find one.
She ends up using some of the grocery money her mom sent to buy train tickets to elementopolis.
The whole week she waited to leave she spent as much time with her friends as possible.
She was really gonna miss them, but something was telling her she needed to go do this.
Unfortunately her umbrella forgot to come with her that night and it happened to start raining
She was lucky to find some shelter under a random potted plant outside of one of the shops downtown.
I think I'd like to change the way they meet Birch
So I'm thinking since Kindlin's mom was gone a lot she invited her friends over a lot, Hazel, Cirrus, Vapor, whoever really.
So they know something is up when Kindlin stops inviting them like she would every weekend.
She does mention having a job as a reason she can't always hang out anymore, but doesn't mention that she's moved in or that she was even planning on leaving at all.
So they finally find out about Birch on another show night
Of course as soon as she found out this sweet kid was in a play she became as supportive as she could be.
She even baked a bunch of cupcakes for the cast and recorded the whole thing on an old camera she had.
Just doing all the things you'd expect a mother to do if she was seeing her kid's play lol
I bet a few of them don't even question that being her mom due to the fact her bio mom never visited the school with her before
I'm guessing Cirrus met her one time briefly but she was half asleep and barely responsive to Kindlin
I like the idea of Hazel running into her in the hallway beforehand and helping he pick up the dropped cupcakes. So when they all assume she's her mom Hazel just makes a offhand comment that throws her off "Kin I saw your mom earlier! She gave me this awesome cloud cake you gotta bring me more sometime".
Oh my gosh yessss
Birch: "thank you so much for helping me young lady, here have a cloud cake."
Kindlin can't help but keep quiet about her not really being her mom.
That is until Birch brings up that Kindlin is her best employee and she couldn't wait to come see her perform if she was as passionate about the stage as she was about baking.
Kindlin definitely hasn't shared her passion of baking with them yet cus she thinks it's kind of embarrassing at first.
Lol Birch can't stop doting on her and telling her how proud she is

First Impressions of LOZ: Tears of the Kingdom - First ~10 hours
I've played for three days and here's my thoughts on how it's been so far (could be a bit more than 10 hours, but I haven't been keeping track and the Switch doesn't show you total hours until after the first like 10 days).
Spoilers below the read more!
• First of all, it's pretty fun so far. It is feeling a bit like a (massive) expansion to the first game, but there is like so much new stuff, even if it is the same world, and it's fun to run around and see the things that have changed and the new things in the world.
• The intro just really shoves you right into it and the opening clips were like so eerie and the music was creeping me out, but I liked it a lot. I'm like I don't know what the heck is happening, but it's fun and new and more LOZ yay!
• I think the "tutorial" section was done pretty well. It did feel a bit like, oh this is Great Plateau part 2, but I didn't feel like it dragged on and I like the new mechanics so far.
• The Ultrahand is like magnesis on crack, and it can be a little tricky maneuvering things and trying to battle the camera (especially when you make very large things). I made a long bridge across a large gap and it was a bit of a pain trying to angle and see if it was long enough and rotate it just right to get it in the right spot.
• I totally screwed myself up getting to the Ascend shrine in the snow area and it led to my first death of the game and I felt so dumb lol. I got up to the part right below where the shrine is and the cliff sides are icy so it's like oh you can't climb, you slide down, and there's a patch of trees right by that, and my dumb brain is like... oh darn, guess we can't go up right here, we must need to keep moving around the area to get to the other side where you can get up to the top. I'd gone through the cave, so there was the whole other side of the snow area with the little fan boats and the waterfalls, so I went down from the top, down past the waterfalls to where the boats were and was like... wait... this seems... incorrect. And then I struggled so dang much getting back up the stupid side of the mountain. The first death was because I jumped into the water and the construct had said something about the water draining stamina, so I'd thought, oh, okay, that must mean that it doesn't hurt you immediately, it just makes your stamina drain fast, so I should be okay to swim this tiny bit more. I was not. It killed me so fast. I did eventually make it back up, but it probably added another like half hour to getting to that shrine.
• Ascend is cool and it obviously doesn't work everywhere, but it's fun where it does work and I like the animation and Link popping up out of the ground like a little prairie dog.
• Fuse is interesting, but I think I haven't used it enough to really wrap my brain around it. Like I like silly weird weapons with rocks and wheels and long sticks attached to them, but I'm still like, okay but how do I make good weapon that doesn't look insane. And also there's like so many things and weapons and the slot limit is low and I hate using the good stuff but I just gotta get over my hoarding tendencies because like stuff is everywhere.
• Reverse seems like it'll be the cryo of the abilities, where it's very situational and otherwise you don't think about it. I haven't really used it yet on the surface, so I'll have to mess around with it more at some point and see what I can get it to do.
• I've gotten through a few main mission things, primarily getting to the surface, talking to Purah, going to the castle ruins, and going to Rito Village to talk with the people there, but I've found that I'm more interested right now in seeing all the new stuff and just riding around the map.
• Speaking of riding around the map, it's fun that it pulls your horses out of your old save data from BOTW. Along with their like mane decorations and stuff, even if it's not unlocked in this save, so now I have my pretty flowered mane horse from my old game.
• The little tunnels in the wells are fun. I haven't explored that many of them, but it's cool to go in and use the ascend feature to just pop back up out of the ground. You're in there like oh man I've got to run all the way back to the ladder and climb back out and then remember oh shit! No I don't! And then just burrow up out of the ground.
• I feel like the hardest thing is trying to keep from just making as much stamina food as I can and then just flying to every location on the map instead of like exploring on the ground. I'm like oh well, I don't have to fight my way through all that, I'll just pop up to that sky shrine and then fly for seven minutes and eat every stamina meal and now I'm where I wanted to be. It is still interesting, and I think I like that you can do that because I feel like I'd be driving myself crazy just trying to zoom all over the map to see the stuff I wanted to see. I guess I just long for that feeling in the first game when you were discovering the whole world and seeing the stuff as you go rather than I know where everything is and now I'm just flying to stuff because I can. But I mean, I guess it makes sense because Link would be familiar with the world already and he isn't the amnesiac that doesn't know anything about Hyrule, so we're going into it the same way with the same info.
• I'm hoping that there will be clips in the game like the memories in the original game, I loved getting to see the interactions between Link and Zelda and the brief moments we've had so far in the game leave me wanting more.
• (This has all been spoilers, but seriously spoilers because this is so special to find on your own) Hateno Village and the Zelda of it all. I started the game and I was like... I need to see the house, there's gotta be something there. And let me tell you I pulled up to the gate and the whole like clothes thing and mushroom and nobody knew who Link was and I was like... oh no, what is there nothing, and then I head over towards the house and see the little girl that's like when's ms. Zelda coming back and my heart. Zelda was living in Link's house in Hateno and all the little bits and pieces in the house, the pictures and her journal about starting the school and teaching the kids. And then the secret well lab with all the frogs! And Link's hair band being in the chest down there and her diary entry about how she's been busy and going to help and Link has been by her side the whole time and neglecting his own clothes and his Champion's tunic was all ratty so she commissioned a new tunic and was going to give it to him after their investigation under the castle and just... guys... But also, it's driving me a little bonkers in Hateno that apparently Link had been by Zelda's side the whole time... except... nobody in Hateno knows who you are except the guy at the school? Like he would have been around, so now I'm curious if Link had been staying somewhere else, if he's got some room or other house somewhere and only Zelda has been in Hateno every now and then or whatever. More to come and explore obviously though. The school is cute and the little student evals with messages to Zelda :)
• I've only done one of the monster hunter side quests, but I thought it was fun how it felt kind of like the Age of Calamity/Hyrule Warrior style of combat where it's the big crowd of monsters and people and you fight alongside to clear out a location. I thought it was cool that they brought that into this game, even if it did feel like Hyrule Warriors in that the other guys didn't really do that much lol
• The depths are scary lol. I'm such a wimp, especially early game when it feels like you're so vulnerable and everything can almost one shot you. I like how they made it so dark and how it's like you have to slowly work your way across and discover that area. There's so much freedom and flexibility and openness to the surface and air areas, so it's fun to have an area of the game that is not like that and forces you to slow down and manage your resources and slowly work through the area. I've barely made it anywhere in the depths, but I hope there's some cool weird stuff to explore down there and it's not just like big caves. Like I hope there's some cool ruins and stuff too.
I've done more stuff, explored the Great Plateau, the Shrine of Resurrection, seen the terrifying looking thing in the Colosseum and went nope no way, and hopped around a bunch of the sky island, unlocked two towers so far, other than the Lookout Tower, and stayed up way too late. I'm still very confused about what the heck is going on, and what's going on with Zelda, and the timeline and zombie boy, but I'm gnawing at my arm to play more, and I wish I could just take a week off to play for seven days straight.
So far, I'm enjoying it! I've only been playing docked, but I'm planning to take it handheld on a trip at the beginning of June (I'm visiting my friend in Phoenix and we're going to Phoenix Fan Fusion), and docked has been good, I haven't noticed any lagging or difficulty loading, other than something the game gets a little wonky with the big attached objects, but that's mostly maneuvering and camera reasons and not like framerate or lag. There is like so much stuff in this game, so we'll see if that performance holds up in handheld too. I need to send off my joy cons before then though because I have been using my pro controller and my joy cons are so drifty it's driving me crazy.

My first thoughts on Harry's House
Please note that this is my personal opinion and my personal interpretation of the album, which obviously includes Larry.
Favourite songs of the first listen are marked violet.
As It Was: Harry being afraid of changes once again for our viewing pleasure. Also called Character Development, because he comes to accept it, in a way.
Boyfriends: As a girl, I know he speaks the truth. Good job, Harry, you seem to be experienced in dating boys– Oh wait. You only ever dated one. Oh, and it also doesn't help your case that this song is probably about him and you both being the 'boyfriend'.
Cinema: I present you with yet another song version of "Louis is a great person to just... sit and admire what he's like."
Daydream: Listen. Touring and working is hard on the Lover Boy. He loves his spouse to bones, he loves to love him. You gotta give it to him, he misses him. I don't see y'all dealing any better with missing Harry's spouse. Honestly.
Daylight: We hate it when they fight, or are far from each other. Harry still loves him through and through. He's a sweet blue bird, after all. And also a drama queen. While Louis is the honey. But what's new.
Grape juice: I love how it feels like he's on the phone. My God, this feels like a lazy evening of them just being them, to me. How Harry creates the atmosphere is beyond me. Also, 1982. Lol, Hazza, L fucking OL.
Keep Driving: Someone's been reminiscing. He feels so... fetus in this song. I just... I can't. This song makes me feel so nostalgic. He has no right to do this. I can see 1D days flashing in front of my eyes. I can see his love life flashing in front of my eyes. This song is too personal. Oh my God.
Late Night Talking: Huh. Okay. So, Louis stubs his toe on the regular, Harry once broke his camera, they have sleeping issues, Harry knows he's a goner, he knows we know he doesn't like change, and Louis lives in his head rent free 24/7, apparently. Good to know. Wbk
Little Freak: Sweet Creature 2.0 in the flesh. Harry's so in love it's embarrassing, y'all. I just... What the hell, Harry. Waxing poetics is one thing, but this? This is plain romance. This is them, from Harry's point of view. No no, not just Louis, them. He's talking about them as seperate and also a pair. Makes you wonder, really. It's so pure it makes you wanna cry. Just... Stop. Too much. I can go on forever.
Love of My Life: As if we didn't know. Yeah, wax more poetics, it's for free. Who's keeping track anyway. Talk relationships in the most romantic way possible and just straight up confess your love. Who's the wiser? It's not like you're gonna leave a fandom bleeding or anything. It's all cool.
Matilda: MY COMFORT SONG. This is a masterpiece. Matilda deserves all the love in the world. Take all I have. Everything. Just stay with me. This work of painful beauty. I will NOT take criticism on this song. I'm way too biased for it. (Also, hail to 1D tradition to use random girl names for God knows why)
MFASR: Long name for a song, Harry, my God. He has a knack for ba-ba-ba's this time around. I'd say he's been drunk while writing this, but... This is Harry. He's always like this. I have no bloody idea what this song is (I mean he is trying to eat stars), so I'm gonna label it as 'Drunk Holiday Love Confessions Somewhere in Tokyo' or something.
Satellite: Harry Styles agreeing with this fandom on Louis being the sun and all of us being satellites. I approve. Communication issues. Harry hopelessly adoring Louis. Louis being the sun– I mean, Louis.
Conclusion: Harry Styles loves Louis Tomlinson. He's been reminiscing. He's been doing some deep thinking and light drinking. Fights and tours been happening. The kids aren't alright, yeah. Harry is reflecting on it all, in a spectacular way. I love this album.
This my instantaneous reaction to the album, I wrote as I listened. This is, in no way, a deep analysis.
