Welcome to the introduction (yippee)

I'm Philip/A/yello. I enjoy writing, art, science, and this is the blog focused on my personal brain worms.

My big brain worm is worldbuilding, and the world you are seeing is the World of All (placeholder name). World of All is placed on a single planet with multiple 'continents' that host independently evolved ecosystems and currently 4,5 sophonts/"aliens". This unique setup is all thanks to the Designers, mindless blobs that have managed to keep their landmasses isolated for billions of years (among other things). As a bonus, some of the blob physical manipulation is left in the sophont creatures' brains who have yet to understand physics on a deeper level.

Here are the 5 (O.s are having a redesign session). Mole stars have not made contact with the rest.

Belated entry to a creature contest by @yellosnacc

Below is the shape we were encouraged to use. Also pardon my chicken scratch. Hope you enjoy my disturbed little danger jump babies! Didn’t make the deadline but was fun regardless! Inspired by sandlice, kangaroo mice, naked mole rats, crabs, stinging nettle, wasps, mosquito larvae and deep ocean tube worms! What a delightful combination!

These creatures are called Jumping Bolts, named for the loud cracking sound they make when their strong tails “click” and propel them forward in short dangerous leaps. They have prehensile “tongue-ears” coated in painful toxins that sting and irritate predators and incapacitate small prey. They recharge this string by “dipping” into a pair of nodes along their back that possess a organs that produce this toxin. They are predominantly scavengers however, using a symbiotic relationship with colonies of small insect like creatures that live within crevices in their arms. These creatures act as scouts, alerting the Jumping Bolt to the site of nearby carrion. Their central hypersensitive “tongue ear” in the middle of their forehead flicks out periodically, tasting the air for the scent of prey and predator alike. Their bioluminescent markings are used to communicate with other Jumping Bolts, as they turn combinations of their markings on and off again to relay messages, establish territory or attract a mate.

Oh boy, the start of a probable series. The collector encounters an Uniima fellow!! (Uniima C sophonts belong to @/yellosnacc ) he would probably find their faces quite silly, always “grinning”.

I think a general exploration of a bunch of alien cultures would be fun for colly. But I’ll probably mainly stick to mine and mutuals sophonts so I don’t confuse random spec artists haha. But if anything I could save that for personal entertainment

Woulda drawn a Birdbug (Birg) but I could't remember how their little pedipalp-arm-things go, so @iguanodont; next time.

(sucks cause I had drawn crowns, birgs, and centaurs before on a previous bingo and it came out Great, much better than these, but it got thrown out with the rest of the cards so no scans for us ;o;)

Hello there, I'm still alive. But I isn't have time to somehow celebrate 400 followers.

So I was wondering - what would you like to see? I might again do some raffle for doodles but I have some ideas.

Doodle - regular raffle but not more than a sketch with possible color since time little

Design - a creature or character design idea for me to create since it's a fun exercise and u get to make the concept

Theme - art for my world be it a character art, short comic, scene art with specific species and setting. Only rule being that it can exist in my world. It can be a full rendered illustration.
