The whole vampire household has been touting how Guillermo is “just Nandor’s familiar” for over 4 seasons now. And even at the beginning of this episode, Nadja says it again! She says, “why don’t you take him to urgent care, Nandor, he’s your familiar.”
But once Nadja gets him to urgent care, and the vampire doctor says he’s going to put Guillermo down, she immediately says, with no hesitation, “You can’t do that! Because…because he’s OUR familiar!!!!”
Not just Nandor’s. OURS. And then she proceeds to fuck up that entire clinic to save Guillermo, to protect him and bring him home, even after learning about him being turned already. That’s the good found family shit right there.

With the WWDITS 2 part season 5 finale this coming weekend, and the first OFMD S2 teaser trailer coming out tomorrow, in another universe where Amazon was a bit smarter episode 6 of GOS2 would have also dropped this coming Friday.
Can you imagine how insane this weekend would have been on tumblr? It'll still be crazy I'm sure after whatever devastation WWDITS will cause, but I'm just imagining what that universe would have looked like. Pretty sure I would have reached near November 5th 2020 heights...

do u guys ever get too over whelmed with fandom stuff. I feel like I'm in fixation paralysis rn:

ok so now that memo is human and isn't in the right head space to be a vampire atm what do we do now?
welp a common fan idea I see being passed around is making memo a witch (if he can never get properly prep himself to become a vampire)
I mean memo has direct ties to witches all the way back in season 2 and if nandermo get together memo will have a good supply of supplies if you know what I mean
now I'm really REALLY down with this idea (I'd love for him to be a vamp buuuuut I wouldn't be mad if he ended up becoming a witch ya know?) but there's like one big thing that makes this thing seem not at all possible is the fact that this show ain't known for bringing up things that happen in past episodes/minor characters much
don't get me wrong half of the reason I love this show is that bat shit crazy things happen/are implied/are said and then just never get brought up again (that kinda shit is my jam)
buuuut in order for the whole thing to work guillermo is going to need witches and the witches from the episode of the same name have never been brought up since that episode
so that's it then? there's no chance it'll happen? here's my little take
well 1 we all thought evie wasn't going to show up ever again and she was in this season
plus this show is very unpredictable and they might just show up one day so jot that down
2 and the whole reason why I'm making this post people tend to forget one tiny little thing
THE GUIDE KNOWS MAGIC
and this isn't a one and done thing no no no
she's used it in seasons 4 and 5 and they were used in big ways (well at least as big as a b plot)
and the guide herself likes memo enough to spare him from being trapped in season 5 episode 9
so here's what I'm pitching:
the way (or at least a way) you become a witch in wwdits canon is through reading and learning from books
books that the guide canonically have, have read, and on the rare occasion use
books she could share with memo!
so in season 6 I think we should see the guide and guillermo interact and talk to each other more
maybe after a bit have the guide slowly but surely teach him some magic (maybe guillermo asks her out of curiosity? maybe she's using it as an excuse to talk to him more? idk idk)
and after a bit if guillermo likes it have him borrow books from her and become a full on witch!

wwdits s5 spoilers below
I was so deeply invested in season 3 of wwdits that every subsequent episode that releases just kind of makes me feel… sad? Nothing has since hit the high of Wellness Center and I don’t think anything will.
For me, that was the pinnacle of their storytelling because it combined humor with the genuine ways in which this dysfunctional group of people have come to care about each other. Nandor feels divorced from his humanity and is looking to find ways to regain that aspect of himself. Guillermo can’t understand because he’s fixated on becoming a vampire to fill the void inside himself where he feels self-conscious, overlooked, unimportant. It’s funny to see these genuine, emotional character moments butt heads with a vaporwave 80s aerobics cult. They expertly balanced character development that had been building throughout season 3 with a bonkers premise and it ended up very touching and very satisfying.
And then, well. Season 4. It was frustrating, first of all, to see the climax of Season 3 completely swept aside in the first minute of the premiere. This season prioritized episodic, unserious episodes that had no lasting character growth, only to emphasize in the finale that nothing changes and nothing matters. You can’t make that your artistic statement for season 4 when you’ve shown your audience three seasons of dynamic relationships being built and reforged and changed in unique ways!
Season 4 and even Season 5 continue to wipe the slate clean again and again. Hypnosis, Djinn wishes, other forms of deus ex machina utilized to undo everything magically and inorganically. There were no stakes for Colin’s death or rebirth, no lasting impact on the relationship between Laszlo and Colin from a season showcasing a very different dynamic between them. Nandor is petulant and rude to Guillermo in irritating ways, as if they had never built a tenuous respect and trust and eventually affection for one another. Does Guillermo care about his family, does he crave their approval, only to have him vaguely continue to push them away after what was supposed to be an emotional coming out episode? Why is Nadja appointed as a leader on the London council only to immediately abandon this position for a wanton night club idea? (Which is then abandoned again in favor of… I’m not really sure what her goals are this season? Vague mentions of a hex with unclear affect on her life.) The audience just has to sit with this continuous lack of narrative resolution.
And it sucks, man. I think it’s a mess. It’s unsatisfying. I see Season 5 trying to incorporate and juggle more plot-dense episodes and they end up feeling too long and weirdly overworked and like all of these ideas are coming too late to feel impactful.
I’ll say I really don’t like Guillermo becoming a vampire, or half-vampire or whatever is happening. I think it absolutely ruins his character arc of finding strength and value in being a human being—with kickass cool Van Helsing abilities even. It would have been way cooler to parallel Guillermo’s realization that he cherishes his own innate humanity with Nandor wanting to regain that humanity he felt he lost over centuries. At this point, I don’t understand what either of them want or need or feel or anything. And the rest of the cast feel like b-plot set dressing.
Well, that’s enough for now I guess. Every episode I just feel like… why did they write this this way. Of course, I’m sure every element of conflict will be magically undone and ironed smooth at the end of Season 5 as it always is and we’ll start season 6 with zero carryover or growth. Again.

My theory on WWDITS Season 5
So this is my theory that I've posted on the WWDITS discord already:
I think Guillermo will become a full on monster, like the Sire.He already has the charactaristics of the Sire with the wings and the ears. But I think he will become a reverse-sire. So instead of being able to turn humans into vampires: he will be turning vampires back to humans.
I think Derek is already back to being human; and thats why the vampire he tried to turn the second time exploded. Because it didnt make sense that Derek didn't explode because he technically also got bitten for the second time.
And my prediction for the last episode of S5 is Laszlo not being able to hide monster-Guillermo anymore, and he shows Nandor what Guillermo has become.
Nandor becomes pissed and wants to kill Laszlo first for hiding this from him; Guillermo attacks Nandor to protect Laszlo. He bites Nandor, Nandor becomes human.
Nandor will probably use a wish to make Guillermo human too, and another one to make Laszlo and the filmcrew forget about monster-Guillermo. Thats why the crew and hypnosis/forgetting keep getting mentioned every episode
And then season 6 starts with them being human and a couple and navigating their new life as humans while still living with vampires. Maybe season 6 will end with them turning back to vampires again.
This is a Theory, and kind of a prediction. Just wanted to put it out there.

I can’t get over the fact that we’ve never, not ever, seen Colin Robinson this vulnerable before (excluding his year of youth where he didn’t have his memories).
We’ve never seen Colin tell the others he’s suffering, hungry, tired, or hurting. We’ve never seen him ask for help, because he always seems so self sufficient.
So when he hung off Nandor and begged him to “take me home. I wanna go home,” my heart melted for him on the spot

Not that anyone asked, but here are my predictions for the last couple episodes of wwdits s5:
Ok, so, we all know that they are currently working up to the two main events of 1. Nandor finding out that Guillermo has been turned (and essentially has cheated on him), and 2. Nandermo finally becoming canon, and the two of them getting together. I feel like most people are currently suggesting that both of those things are going to happen in the coming 2 episodes, but I'm not so sure.
I think they are currently trying to do more buildup for the vampire confession than the love confession (though obviously they are still doing lots for the latter... I mean... did you SEE Nandor clutching Guillermo's sweater this episode?!?! Ugh. My heart). But I'm not sure they would have time to do both of these events (which are both very important to the show) justice if they squeeze them both into the finale. So, unless they do the vampire confession in episode 9 and then love confession in 10, I don’t think they will both happen.
Obviously I think Nandor is going to find out about Guillermo before the end of this season. That was the overarching plot of season 5, and then they will move to something new for season 6. But the love confession is something they've been building up to, slowly but surely, for a very long time. I think that we may have to wait for the next season to see it.
I think there might be a tease of a relationship, or perhaps Nandor might confess his love, but I don’t think Guillermo would want to start any kind of relationship with Nandor while he still has this secret of being a vampire, and having cheated on him. I think Guillermo would feel too guilty about that. So, while there is a chance for a love confession to then trigger the vampire confession, immediately resulting in Nandor's betrayal, I don't think we will be getting a passionate Nandermo scene that everyone so desperately wants.
I guess it just depends who we think will make the first move. For the majority of the show I would have said Guillermo would be most likely to confess his feelings for Nandor, but after this season (and ESPECIALLY that last episode omg 🥺), I think it might actually be Nandor. Both would be very interesting... I'm so excited to see what they do with this.
So yeah, I think we may have to wait. Let the slow burn be a slow burn.
Just my thoughts. I will, as always, be incorrect.
UPDATE: After writing this I was just looking at the episode list, and I noticed that the episode title for episode 10 is "Exit Interview", with the description of "The vampires search for a missing Guillermo"... so perhaps we WILL be getting the vampire confession from Guillermo in episode 9, causing him to flee, resulting in a reuniting in episode 10... maybe there is a chance for some Nandermo scenes... though I still think they will be saving some of that for season 6.

my biggest problem w the season 5 finale is that guillermo deciding he doesn't want to be a vampire because he somehow didnt realize that being a vampire meant killing people - something he certainly already knew having fed nandor and the others for 13 years, and absolutely had no problem with before this episode unless he personally knew the victim + being a well established vampire slayer regardless is just about the stupidest plot thread ive ever seen in anything ever. it completely assasinates the character theyve shown him to be since season ONE !! like did none of the many many vampires you killed use fucking shampoo?? give me a break. seriously. give me a fucking break. its nonsense. "oohhhh i cant eat him i thought of him as a person i'm not ready" it's bullshit. this was your dream for most of your life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what makes it worse is that would have BEEN an interesting plotline going forward. guillermo being stuck with the choice he made and finding ways to cope with it. he could try and drink from animals or just a little from willing victims or he could use vampire hypnosis to steal from hospitals (two of these ideas are from fucking twilight btw. a movie that exists in this universe that guillermo enjoys and has certainly seen more than once.) or god. nandor could drain people for him and feed him from a plastic fucking dixie cup. they had OPTIONS this was an interesting story direction that i would be looking FORWARD to they could BOND over this they could bond in ways that its IMPOSSIBLE for them to now and i don't even particularly LIKE nand/ermo but giving guillermo a get out of jail free card for vampirism to send shit back to the status quo six seasons in is NOT it girlies and no amount of Nandor Spoke Farsi makes that last episode salvageable. i have read FANFICTION that wrote these characters and this plotline BETTER than this. the fakeout of they cant undo this followed immediately by OH JUST KIDDING WE CAN ACTUALLY BITCH YOU THOUGHT was insulting . beyond insulting. i havent felt this bad about a season finale of wwdits since season 3. but while the latter half of season three was unpleasant it at least seemed like it would be interesting going forward. this? this was just disappointing. its the first time ive ever felt this show was Badly Written and it hurts because i LOVE this show and i looked forward to this season and now that its over its like. this whole season might as well be moot. they could start season 6 saying this was all a crazy dream guillermo had and it would be BETTER for the narrative

I know people have been talking about the inevitably sad and emotional ending to season 5 of WWDITS but the last two seasons ended like that and then the next still started as funny as always so honestly I think that makes it even funnier, that however much of a Thing it is it will still be turned into a joke between the last episode of 5 and the beginning of 6 which I love
I think it would be funny if you do get this emotional thing of Nandor saying he will kill Guillermo, and then season 6 he keeps trying to but Guillermo keeps easily stopping him like Cato and Inspector Clouseau

ok so late wwdits season 5 finale opinion: i think it was resolved too quickly, like guillermo deciding to be human is a BIG thing and i dont think hed decide that after One time of feeling grossed out about killing someone, especially since a) hes BEEN KILLING people b) u can bite them without killing them and c) just do a iwtv and eat rats. i could like the character development of it all but it should have taken more time or more tries of eating a person.
my ideal s5 finale would have been nandor forgiving guillermo in the last 5 minutes of the last episode and then season 6/the first half is about guillermos Moral Struggles.
but well it is what it is and ill still see and like season 6
