ok so my idea for a bad batch redesign is. What if the bad batch was actually an experiment on transgenic clone modifications. like. really putting the "experimental" in experimental clone force.
Tumblr media
Hunter - Kaleesh genes make his senses sharper, and gives him infrared sensing (and by extension night vision) and stronger hunting instincts - His ears are pointy and taller than normal, but he hides that with his bandana - Has pit organs under his eyes (that's how he senses infrared and electric currents) - His eyes reflect light and have slit pupils - His pinkies work as secondary thumbs
Tech - Kind of a test to see how much of givins' natural affinity for mathematics is genetic and how much is socialized - He's better with maths and has quicker thinking than regular humans - Givin genes make him smaller, pale and bony, so he looks kinda sickly and starved but he's totally normal - The glasses help hide how deep his eyes are - The "balding" look from his original design is now because of his bone structure
Wrecker - Gamorrean genes give him enhanced strength - It also gives him a very strong sense of loyalty, and makes him tend to be stubborn - He's actually a little bit shorter than an average clone, but he's so wide that people think he's taller than he really is - His left canine broke in the same incident where he lost his left eye
Crosshair - Chiss genes give him infrared vision and better reflexes (and red scleras) - Umbaran genes give him ultraviolet vision - He really is just an experiment on expanding the human vision range - He sees infrared better than ultraviolet, and has better night vision than Hunter - His hair is a cool black instead of the usual warm black - He's a bit paler as well but that's because he doesn't like bright places

Do Not Repost!
Well! I'd say that's a bit of improvement in under a year! Real talk, I'm so happy at the improvement, like y'all don't even know. I FINALLY feel like I can accurately draw how the boys look in my Adventures!AU. Still room for improvement of course, but I mean, look at the difference! Noses still kill me but I'm getting better. And hey, I can more accurately draw myself! Or at least how I looked when I started my series lol, got my head buzzcut a month or so back. Armor also hates me, but at least in the newest version I didn't trace anything!
There's a bit of a theme going for each Batcher. Tech is a soft-featured baby-faced fella since he's the youngest, and his face is also based on Daniel Logan rather than Tem! Hunter is perhaps the most "Tem" of them all, with slightly pointed eartips due to some non-human DNA. Twiggy's adjective is "sharp", so while he's still based on Tem he's got a bit more of an edge to him. His hair also has a straighter texture due to Nexu DNA. Then we have the teddy bear Wrecker, whose features are a bit broader and blockier than Tem and his burn isn't like the shows "webbing" but more patchy.
Then there's myself, drawn more "cartoony" because I hate looking at myself for references. I'm also aware my hair is a bit Anakin-looking but alas.
Curious about the Adventures!AU? Check out my Masterlist! While it is a self-insert, I spend a lot of the series making fun of any tropes that come along. It's a self-aware self-insert with saltiness abound. I also teach Wrecker "YEET" so that's also a thing. It's also a fix-it series, and one of the stories currently being posted monthly involves saving Domino squad! So, I mean if you wanna check it out 👉👈

@talesfrommedinastation’s posts talking about the bad batch with their redneck neighbor inspired me to redneck-ify the batch members, starting with crosshair (based on my cousin’s idea)
Tumblr media

How the Batch responds to someone who denigrates the color pink in front of them
And God forbid if this happens when Omega is figuring out her personal style, preferences, and fashion sense.
The Batch would certainly not ascribe to the belief that pink is for girls and blue is for boys. They make it their personal mission to prove that that’s nonsense.
Hunter
Guess who found pink-handled knives? And guess who will always at least two strapped to his belt at all times?
Rambo Barbie over here has traded out his usual bandana for a bright pink one. He’s wearing it with absolute and complete unfazed confidence. Giggle about it at your own risk and peril.
Just in case the knives and bandana were a little too subtle, he makes a point of wearing pink (possibly flannel) shirts regularly. Said shirts run the full spectrum of pink, but that’s fine. He thinks he looks good in the color.
He will absolutely look anyone who goes off about the pink/blue gendered thing dead in the eye and just go, “No.” That usually stops the BS in its tracks.
Crosshair
This man knows he looks good in black. That doesn’t stop him from having pink be his new go-to highlight color. All of the little accessories and details on his armor and helmet are now a lovely share of pink.
When his hair starts coming back in, he starts coloring to a nice light pink (blush) color. Just don’t mistake the pink hair for friendliness though. He’s still a snarky bastard.
His Firepuncher gets a makeover too. Crosshair enjoys taking people out with a neon pink sniper rifle. (It sets a very specific, very petty tone — and he’s here for it.)
He will also intentionally be a little shit and set people up to get verbally knocked down a peg or three. Tech has roughly five versions of the same speech about how assigned gendering colors is an outdated concept. Crosshair is going to do his twin a solid and let him loose on idiots. (He enjoys watching the chaos and panic that unfolds.)
Tech
Like I said, he will give a full lecture about the fallacy of “Pink is for girls, and blue is for boys.” Oh, did you want to see slides to go along with that? Here, he’s got those too.
Tech shows up with pink-framed goggles, a pink-cased data pad, and pink embroidery on all his pockets and pouches within 24 hours. For him, fashion is functional first, but it can also be fun and make a statement.
Did you say give the Marauder a new paint job? Why yes, it is time that it got a new look. Thank you so much for suggesting that. (And yes, Wrecker helped with the paint job and redesign. They both did such a good job.)
Tech also knows how to recalibrate his blasters so that his blaster bolts and stun rays are pink. He can show you how he did, if you ask him nicely.
Wrecker
This man comes in one setting — loud and enthusiastic support. And the best way to do that? Head-to-toe neon pink At All Times. (Seriously, this man shows up with completely pink armor and a helmet and just continues to do his normal job without commenting on his new paint job.)
Lula gets a wardrobe upgrade too. She’s now for a very cool pink jacket that Wrecker made for her himself.
Wrecker will loudly and eagerly proclaim that pink is his absolute favorite color anytime he hears a person talking shit about the color. He isn’t putting on a front either. He does love the color pink.
Guess who has pink smoke grenades and pink glitter bombs in his pack at all time? Wrecker. Why? Well, why not!?!?!
Echo
Bright pink kama for life! No, he will accept no questions or suggestions to the otherwise. His kama is pink, and he looks fabulous.
Echo may be a part of the Bad Batch now, but he was part of the 501st and Domino Squad before that. If you give him just the slightest scrap of an idea, he’ll run with it in a way that would make Fives proud . . . which is why so many people wind up covered in a violently pink glitter-and-glue mixture when they say stupid shit. (Wrecker may have helped.)
He gets Tech to upgrade his scomp to be metallic pink.
Grumpy Disappointed Mom Face gets deployed with great effect. Echo isn’t mad that you’re spouting nonsense. He had just hoped you didn’t buy into the nonsense that only girls can like pink.
Omega
Omega colors the tips of her hair to be bright pink. It’s actually a whole family project, especially in deciding which shade of pink would look best on her. She also used this as an opportunity to try some new hair styles to show off her color makeover.
She also got Tech to readjust her bow so that it too fires pink bolts. (They’re gleeful menaces on the battlefield together.)
Leaning into pink helps Omega connect with her femininity. For as much as she loves her brothers, that’s one area where they aren’t the best role models (even if they fully support her during this journey). She is the one who helped her brothers incorporate pink into their current wardrobe.
Omega also learns how to give manicures. The only polish choice anyone she gives one to gets to make is whether or not they want glitter. Everyone is going to be rocking pink nails when she gives them a manicure. (The Batch are very diligent and serious about maintaining their manicures.)

Hybrid Bad Batch redraw
Also Echo redesign for the AU
For anyone new: hybrid AU is that the experimental unit 99 are made of hybrids of Jango Fett and another sentient species, Hunter is mixed with Trandoshan, Tech with Chiss, Wrecker with Lasat and Crosshair with Zyggerian
But who’s Omega hybridized with?
63 notes · View notes
Tech is totally that person.
You know.
You vent to them about your relationship struggle and instead of them going "Aww, that sucks, I am really sorry for you.", they send you a whole laundry list of possible courses of action they think you should take.
You complain about your bike breaking down and instead of offering words of comfort, they drive down to your house at 11p.m on a Monday night equipped with an entire garage worth of tools you never even knew they had and fix the bike for you, free of charge.
You just had the most awful day of your life and want someone to just tell you it's going to be okay, but the only person physically available is the one that's emotionally unavailable, so they clean your apartment and cook you dinner and do your laundry and get the groceries and you somehow feel better without them actually listening to your rants.
You know, that person. The "no comfort, only fix" person.
After the loss of Lula, Omega (and Wrecker) has been absolutely miserable to deal with. It's not that hard to crack why, really. Lula was the first toy Omega ever held in her hands. This child raised from infancy in a sterile lab as a medical assistant, who could never just be a child, was finally allowed to be one. And to lose that source of comfort, the thing that somewhat symbolised your freedom, your right to just be a kid? Omega is devastated.
She knows and understands that Tech cares. He doesn't say it, he doesn't even show it like she or the others would, but he really does. At least about Echo, and Crosshair, and the Marauder. But does he care about a child's plaything? Hard to tell, but she vents anyway.
And Tech will be damned if he doesn't do anything about it, so he sets out on a sewing journey.
To be fair, he knows nothing about sewing, but that has never stopped him before, has it?
He sends a pic to Echo asking about an old shirt he left behind when he was leaving, and yeah, ripping it apart half an hour after asking might have been a bit too early, but Tech is a man on a mission now. Echo can shove it, he shouldn't have left the shirt with them if he wanted it so much. At least it will have a new, noble purpose now.
He buys needles, thread and packing on a supply run and pours hours upon hours of research time into watching sewing tutorials and combing through arts-and-crafts forums until he feels like his eyes will melt off his face. He stays up till the dead of night, vision swimming and blurry, designing and redesigning his new creation with such precision and attention to detail you would believe he was designing a brand new starship.
With hands shaky from exhaustion and caffeine overconsumption, he begun working on his newest passion project. With the needle weaving in and out of the material and occasionally stabbing him in the fingers, concentration visible on his face and yawns escaping his mouth, he was able to finish just before dawn.
He held up his creation in the air as if it was worth more than that cursed Serennian war chest and inspected his handy work.
It looked like shit.
Just before he was able to hide his mistake, Omega burst in, curious to see what her brother was working on all day and night. She saw the plushie making a 360 in the air just before it hit the wall and slid down pathetically into the garbage can below.
To Tech's bewilderment, Omega fished that poor, unshapely and unsightly blob of material from the can and inspected the plushie, upon which she hugged it tightly and scurried off to her room, her new treasure in tow.
A week later, Tech is still scratching what's left of his hair to figure out why she loves that thing so much, as it looks nothing like Lula, or well, anything in particular.
And Omega herself knows it's not the best thing that ever graced the universe, but Tech made it.
He made it for her.
edit: this post has been up for 10 hours already and only now did I notice I kept talking about sawing, the thing you do with wood, instead of sewing, the thing you do with needles. 17 years of learning English, paying through my nose to get my C2 certificate and going to fucking university to study English and my 1 a.m. tbb rot brain decided we don't know English anymore.

Earth: movie one Sam drop Allspark: Dispensor; Appliancebots, Decepticon Hatchlings, KSI: Stinger, Junkheap triplets, Sentries, Boss, Two Heads, etc; Pterry, Tops, Sharp-T
(I didn’t give them their own generation as the generations were supposed to focus on Cybertron/before the movies)
Note: I’m also doing some slight redesigns. For example, noses don’t appear till the Allspark generation so Jetfire, Lieutenant, Sentinel, Que, etc will have platings but don’t appear to have noses. Also the same goes to the Creators after they get upgraded with mechanical parts so Quintessa will look different. Not everyone in the Allspark generation will have noses, it’s just simply an option now. This was due to the Allspark having information of organic life from the Explore and Conquest generation.

Transformers Universe 2003 - Decepticon Skywarp - Function: Warrior - Not much is known about Skywarp prior to his mysterious reemergence after centuries of inactivity. Formerly one of Megaton's elite cadre of air warriors Skywarp had suddenly reappeared, redesigned into a newly-designed futuristic sonic attack jet. Although currently a member of the misfit Autobot strike team, the Wreckers, Skywarp has been known to suddenly switch allegiances, quickly following whichever Decepticon, or Autobot, is in control. His current interests in this esteemed Autobot team is unknown - keeping his intentions only to himself. Skywarp is sarcastic and loud-mouthed, the sneakiest of the Decepticons and enjoys playing cruel pranks on his fellow teammates.

Sonic Wolf 6 Profiles: Wolf 6
Tumblr media
Oops, didn't mean to be so late wrapping up these posts! I was a bit busy getting back into plasma donation after an unexpected absence, is all. These next two should be scheduled, though.
Alright, time to Ken Penders this sucker!
Before we get started, though, I have decided on ONE change since the last post. Instead of linking it all individually, I'll simply make a master list post with all of the relevant links, and link to that in the future!
So, Masterlist with all of the links: https://www.tumblr.com/benis-chillin/706450181935218688/sonic-the-hedgehog-fanfiction-link-masterlist?source=share
Anyway, most of these guys are basically props for Jack's backstory, so we're not going to go TOO in-depth with most of them, but I'll try to give these random assortments of Sonic Forces Avatar pieces their due.
Tumblr media
Name: Boom
Wispon: Bomb
An explosives expert, and technically the first OC we saw onscreen(on-page?). For some reason, I've always interpreted him as having a German accent. Other than that, the most interesting thing about him is that I always viewed his Wispon as looking like the Seiza Blaster from Kyuranger. Someone feel free to draw that.
Tumblr media
He died in the story he was introduced in, though admitably, if I had that story to do over again, I would probably change his fate to a coma.
UPDATE: As of the 2023 revision, he is now in a coma.
Tumblr media
Name: OnePunch
Wispon: Drill
One of my more boring designs, more meant to fill a roster than anything. Because of that, I wrote him as the blandest man alive before taking him out in a blaze of glory.
Tumblr media
Name: Quickshot
Wispon: Standard(two)
One of the few females I've created, oddly. She's fairly important to Raccoon, being the one he saved when they first met, and being intergral to his intergration into Wolf 6. She was also the original owner of Lady Chao. Of the slain characters listed here, she probably has the best chance of coming back if the storyline allows it.
Tumblr media
Name: Chaz Hardcock
Wispon: Burst
Okay, this one is entirely a joke. He's basically just the OC I made for my Sonic Forces Retranslated cutscene comp that I gave a stupid name. His last name will obviously never be said on-screen, but I view him as a canon member of the team, AND still alive.
His Adventures: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhnIPa8XAn7yEWcJx9jMd-0dH10ttJsYU
Tumblr media
Name: Slings
Wispon: None
Another joke character because the goggles reminded me of the Amazing Spider-man. A lizard who was trapped in his spider-filled basement during the first two months of the war, Slings grew attached to the spiders, and believed that he had become one with them, and was thus always covered in them. He was on Wolf 6 because no other Resistance unit would take him, and essentially left to scouting duties. He didn't last too long, and will not be revived. Did not wield a Wispon due to his innate ability to shoot web-like blasts from his fingers, and had complete control over his spiders.
Tumblr media
Name: Wrecker
Wispon: Cube
An expert in demolition and sabotage, this young wolf died during the war, and was later brought back as an ECS Unit. I'd like to show how he's doing afterwards someday.
And now onto our bigger two, the ones that are guaranteed continued appearances: Edge and Spike.
Tumblr media
Name: Edge
Wispon: None
Age: Undecided, but presumably around 25-27.
Edge has his origins in the original phases of Jack, where I was just making an edgelord called Edgy the Boy because I'm an unfunny hack. I saved his original outfit to my closet in the game, so when I turned Jack into an actual character with his final outfit, I just used this to form a basis for the character of Edge, a loose cannon that went to prison over custom weapons dealing.
Tumblr media
He actually got a last minute redesign while Those who left us behind was being written, but his sword has been a constant. It was inspired by that sort of whip sword the red Zyuohger uses, as that felt like a very Sonic-y ability for him to have.
Tumblr media
I actually plan to do considerably more with this character in the future, so stay tuned.
Tumblr media
And of course, what is a character like Edge without a good counterpoint like Spike?
Obviously, she has a rebellious streak in her, like Edge does, but she expresses it in more healthy ways, like wearing more punk attire, or just the ability to properly question authority instead of disregarding protocol instantly like Edge does. This contrast, obviously, puts them at odds with each other, and Edge's less desirable traits vs Spike's less traditional worldview create a great stage for these two to clash.
I also view Spike as having something of an alternative lifestyle. Obviously, she's taken a liking to doing the Sally Acorn(remember, kids, only break the design rules if there's a good character reason for it), but as her brief cameo in Crawl Walk or Run indicates, she's willing to date pretty much anybody that works well with her. She's basically pansexual, if pansexuality also included robots and stuff. I plan to do more with this later.
Oh yeah, and she’s in the same age range as Edge...Almost forgot to mention that.
Her Wispon is a Spike Wispon, which has only been depicted as a larger weapon in IDW, but I'm gonna handwave that as a custom version and say that hers is more equivalent to the Hover Wispon. And her Wisp partner is the scarred one from the Rise of the Wisps short because why not? Not like it's ever gonna show up again later in actual canon.
Tumblr media
So yeah, that's about all she wrote about Wolf 6. I don't doubt that more will show up later, since there were 22 members, but for now, this is all I've got.
And next time, we conclude our little series with a look at each individual story I've done, and their origins! See ya then!
If you wanna read these stories, refer to the masterlist above!

Fiddling around with shading and the Adventures!Bad Batch designs :D
Hunters FRICKIN forehead and top half of his hair is killing me. Also I can’t draw mouths but I’m trying lol. At least they’re all starting to look like each other, my sleep deprived brain actually thought I’d drawn Cross twice because he and Tech looked similar without coloring and shading

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2: Who Redesigned The Boys’ Armour And Why?
Tumblr media
One of Star Wars' newest additions to their franchise is the animated The Bad Batch series. Season 1 continued the adventures of Clone Force 99, originally introduced in The Clone Wars season 7. The series focuses on how this group of Clones reacted to Order 66 and their place in the universe after the fact. While the change in status quo in the universe divided the elite group of clones, they also welcomed a new team member in Omega; a young girl who is a clone just like them. The Bad Batch season 2 premiere sees the team return, but with an entirely new look. And I have some thoughts about who possibly designed those new looks. And it’s pretty cute, if true. Disclaimer: Please note that the following will include spoilers for The Bad Batch season 2 premiere, episode 1 titled ‘Spoils Of War’. The Bad Batch Season 2 Premiere In the premiere of The Bad Batch season 2, we see the boys pick up where they spent most of season 1, doing jobs for Cid (Rhea Perlman). Last we saw them, the Batch, along with Omega, survived the destruction of Kamino and went off on their own, leaving behind Crosshair, who refused to join them. The season 2 premiere picks up on a lighter note, as the Bad Batch (all voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) are in a tight spot on a planet full of oversized crabs. We right away see just how far Omega has progressed in her training with the Squad from season 1, as she’s hanging off of the ship providing cover fire as the boys escape their outrageous predicament. She’s a complete badass! While still being an excitable kid. Omega’s (Michelle Ang) dynamic with the rest of the team is as cute as ever, but there’s one aspect of this season 2 premiere that might make their relationship even cuter! The Bad Batch: From Clone Wars To Their Own Show When the Bad Batch first appeared in the first four episodes of season 7 of The Clone Wars, they looked slightly different. Their armour began as an offshoot of the regulation Clone Trooper armour, with obvious modifications based on each of their unique skill sets. The armour was darker than the white clone trooper armour, with variations of dark grey with some red accents. Each member of the Bad Batch had their own modified helmet though. Wrecker’s was big and bulky with a menacing grimace paint job on it. Tech had a helmet that allowed him to see using his special goggles. Hunter and Crosshair had their own special helmets to take advantage of their skills. And when Echo joined them, his helmet had to accommodate for his cybernetic impacts on his head. But the Bad Batch season 2 premiere reveals even more changes to their armour. Changing Colours Has Thematic Implications In Bad Batch Season 2 Premiere The Bad Batch season 2 premiere shows a more colourful former Clone Force 99. The overall colour of their armour has changed. Instead of a uniform grey, the armour has more different colours throughout, with different areas in different colours. The colours vary from their grey to black, navy and even lighter greys throughout. On top of which, there’s also a lot of colourful paintwork on their helmets and accents throughout. Given how the Batch are now not just rogue Clone Troopers, but a team of their own, with no allegiance to anyone but themselves, the change in armour colour makes sense. It aligns with where the team was at the end of season 1. They were no longer a special team of Clone Troopers serving the Republic, but mercenaries, taking on jobs to survive. Their only loyalty is to their own. So the change in their armour colours symbolizes this shift in their ideals and philosophy. But it serves a practical purpose too. Given that the Clone Troopers and the future Stormtroopers who serve the Empire are always in all white, separating themselves as much as possible from them, lets others know that they are not part of the Empire. Who Redesigned The Bad Batch’s New Armour Colors? But the cutest thing about this redesign is who might have done it. Given everything we know about these characters, I don’t see Echo and Hunter sitting around deciding on what bright colours to add to their armour. Or Tech attempting to calculate which colour combinations best complement each other from a strategic standpoint. Wrecker, I can see absolutely doing all of this. But the most logical explanation is that this shift in a bright color palette is something that Omega suggested. The entire dynamic between Omega and the Bad Batch, specifically Hunter, is a very older brother-younger sister vibe, or even a father-daughter relationship. So it makes sense that the child of the group would recommend a fun and bright aesthetic for their previously dull and dark armour. But what’s even cuter, is that the boys totally accepted and went along with it. It’s just like how some kids will want to paint their father’s nails or do makeup, and the dads just accept and even get into it, for the sake of their daughter’s happiness. And just thinking that Omega might have excitedly wanted to update the boy’s armour, and they happily agreed is a bit of headcanon that enhances their relationship so much more to me. And also might show just how much she means to them. The Bad Batch season 2 premiere episode is now streaming on Disney+. Do you think Omega was responsible for the boys’ new looks? Or do you think it was for some other reason? Let me know in the comments below. Read the full article
