[We've got a charcuterie smorgasbord in Denver. I want to tour the showroom. Everything struggles to live. A worldwide web of flavor in Utah. That is good.]

I love the internet because of how people across the world can use it. Every time I stumble across an Indian forum where people complain about being asked for their caste on tinder, every time I find a youtube video explaining that Gopniks squat because there’s almost no public places to sit in Russia, every time I see a British person going “What do you mean ‘Goldfish crackers’, I always thought they were called ‘Finz’” It offers a glimpse into a world entirely different from my own
It’s humbling to remember that there are 7.8 billion people in the world and every one of them is having a completely different experience to my own

My internet access is being frustratingly slow recently, and it's making me even more pissed off than i normally am about bloated websites with gigabytes of JS that are required for basic operation of the site.

Hm, thinking of The Fall, and how to square the circle on how it could be a large spread event that also meant Mia had to learn English twice, and there might be an answer here.
It could be that of a pandemic that caused memory loss, and I think that could explain someone thinking differently of you for it and being a large event beyond your control. Perhaps those effected by this sort of memory effecting plague, gonna refer to as Lethe for now, are discriminated against in some way, even those that have recovered from it. Or if not everyone effected by Lethe maybe it's just a subset that reacted differently. Is this also a low-key zombie-esque story? Are people effected by Lethe a danger somehow? Sort of like how lepers were in the past.
Mia contracts Lethe, Lethe is a danger somehow beyond the standard plague stuff, dangerous enough a pandemic of it could be refered to as The Fall, Mia being known to have been effected by Lethe could change how people see her despite clearly getting over it.
