AWS Inc. P/N 52769 Protective Vest (aka 'Direct Action Trauma' Body Armor)
Iconic Body Armor System of the 1998-2002 period, famously used by 1st SFOD-D (Delta Force), SFG/Green Berets, and others.
A combined evolution of the older T.G. Faust NATO SF and Point Blank PBPV Vests and predecessor of the AWS CQB and Paraclete RAV Systems.
This example has several operator-specific modifications:
The Triple M4 Panel is permanently sewn to the vest as a makeshift cummerbund flap (despite a lack of a c-bund)
The original Elastic Panel C-Bund was chopped off and replaced with two straps of heavy suspender elastic with side release buckles
Webbing loops were added on the shoulder for cable routing purposes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very scarce piece of equipment that I'm happy to own.

Let's talk about camo......because we all love it!
What's the point or reason for camo (aka camouflage)? To blend into your surroundings. Each camouflage pattern is designed to help the user blend into a certain geographical area or terrain style. So Desert camouflage helps you in the dry or desert areas, woodland camouflage for the woods or the dark green wet areas, etc....
So besides looking awesome camouflage actually works (well most do). There are certain patterns that perform better than most like anything else in life or this world.
Black Multicam is pretty much a gray/black scale of the original Multicam pattern. Black Multicam looks awesome and goes with almost any outfit when in/on and apparel item. However it doesn't really do anything. In daytime you can see it and the person/item, at low light you can still see it and the person/item, under night vision (nvgs) the pattern sticks out like a sore thumb, and in the dark well......nothing can be seen including it lol.
Urban camo (like the Junkyard Ops cerakoted AR15 magazine in the picture) works great for areas like Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Las Vegas, or any other location where there's these vibrant colors. This type of camo works good with these locations because of the neon lights, street art, graffiti, and billboards that are very prevalent. There's lots of different urban camos so if you live in a big city you are easily able to find or even create one for your needs.
Desert camo was designed for the super dry areas that are also usually very hot like parts of Texas, Arizona, the middle east, etc... This camo has no greens or dark browns which would indicate vegetation or places receiving abnormal moisture for a dry area.
Snow camo (not pictured) often it mostly white with some light grays (either spots or lines) which are for shadows. This camo works for areas or times of the year with well...... snow.
Real Tree / Grass lands / Marsh camos are usually used by hunters for the areas they are going to be hunting in. Real Tree has realistic tree branches/limbs and leaves. Grass lands has realistic grass. Marsh camo looks like the coat in the middle top of the picture with realistic branches, reeds, grass, mud, etc.
Army ACU camo is a digital camo for virtually dry areas that has some moisture (hence the use of green in it). This pattern was used by the United States Army for a short period as it was found to wash out and wasn't very effective in any environment/surrounding. Not to mention it's just plain ugly.
Multicam, this pattern is honestly one of the most popular patterns out there besides Woodland (M81). It's popular because it fits most environments including mine in the Pacific Northwest plus its performance level of hiding the person or item the pattern is on is extremely high (highest performaning camo pattern actually). Multicam is for wetter areas that still get hot and have dry/dead vegetation. However over the many years it's been out people have come up with other multicams like black multicam or jungle multicam just to name a few newer ones.
Woodland Camo (M81/God's plaid) is one of the oldest ones I know about. To my knowledge the United States military started using it after the Vietnam War as they (US Military) were looking at how to do better in warfare. Woodland camo is the first camo pattern I ever saw and seems to be the most popular on the internet social media platform like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. This pattern is designed for wet and healthy areas were vegetation is green and abundant like forests, jungles, and even some tropical areas.
Camouflage shares the same concept as the "grey man theory/ideology), you're trying to blend in. However people are split nowdays on if wearing camo in public is or isn't going to help you blend in to the general public. In my opinion it makes you stand out no matter what the pattern is. While camo is extremely popular I think most pro second ammendment people wear it and the "left" knows it causing said person to be targeted or watched just by wearing it.
With that said camouflage doesn't have to be a pattern. If you are going to a sporting event you should wear one of the teams merchandise to help blend in, if you are going to a nice restaurant you dress up in a nice outfit to blend in, etc. This allows you to let people often not even notice you (which is the point of camouflage patterns). So be smart and chose the right camouflage pattern that fits your needs.
By the way, Brownells just picked up some new companies for chest rigs, battle belts, and plate carriers. So be sure to check them out and use coupon code "WLS10" to save you 10% on all orders over $150 (before tax and shipping).

BUMP IN THE NIGHT (Roommate!Gaz x GN!Reader)
roommate!gaz masterlist
summary; your halloween costume makes kyle feel things.
a/n; i’m an american trying to understand the british school system. 😭 corrections are welcomed!!
Tumblr media
AFTER SECONDARY SCHOOL, Kyle stopped going to parties and such. He used to go to parties all the time, at the very least it would be once a week—even if the party was held on a school night. He kept up with his grades and he was pretty responsible, so he saw no reason to stop. He drank, sure—yes, perhaps he got black out drunk a couple of times, but he never did anything too reckless or dangerous. Kyle used to be the type where you would blink and he would wander off, but he grew out of that pretty quickly. He never tried to take his friends’ keys and try to drive their cars or anything, was never the type to need their phone taken away so he wouldn’t drunk-text an ex; nothing.
Even after spending his time in the British army, he didn’t really go out to party with his mates like that. Kyle would go to bars and such, but he wouldn’t try to do drinking games or challenges like he would at eardrum bursting parties held in people’s homes whilst their parents were on business trips. So imagine his surprise when you inform him you’re going to a little party—your words are “get together”, but Kyle’s convinced otherwise—you let him know the invitation you were given also extended to him, but Kyle insisted that he should stay home; hand out the candy and such. Kyle’s never been too big on Halloween, but he did celebrate it in some way. Sometimes it was used as an excuse to get together and party when he was a teenager, and he did participate in trick-or-treating as a child.
You plan on drinking at this get together, so Kyle’s been waiting by the front door with his jacket on, sneakers tied, keys in hand. He's going with you for once, but he didn’t have time to grab a costume, which you insist that it’s fine. You said you’d be done putting your costume on at least ten minutes ago, so Kyle is curious about what's taking you so long. He nearly starts walking to your bedroom to knock and check in on you, maybe you’re stuck—hell, he doesn’t even know what you’re going as—but the second his muscles twitch, he hears your door squeak open. He mentally notes that he should oil the hinges for you. “Close your eyes!” You call from behind the corner. Kyle huffs and closes his eyes. “No peeking!”
“I won’t!” Kyle responds, crossing his arms. He hears you shift around, a closed mouth sigh escaping your throat for a moment. His ears pick up your feet walking closer—you sounded, heavier? Like there was more weight on you somehow. “Wait, m’not done yet.” You grunt, adjusting something that had velcro on it. Kyle can’t stop the lip twitch at your irritated tone, like something wasn’t completely going your way and it was amusing. You shift something else, fabric rubbing against fabric. “Okay, you can look now.”
Kyle opens his eyes and his jaw drops ever so slightly when he sees what he sees; you, wearing tactical gear. Albeit, it’s airsoft tactical gear, but it’s tac-gear nonetheless. You have woodland camo on; the frogs camo jacket as well as pants on—marines inspired, he thinks—with a matching green vest, decked out in magazines of both a rifle and a pistol, some pair of scissors taped to some pliers in a pocket. There’s some fake smoke grenades and flashbangs attached to your tactical belt, and you have a radio in a pocket, a wire trailing up to your ear. You’re holding a rifle that has bright blue tape on it to indicate it’s fake—you’re going to a party, for god’s sake—and you have a thigh holster for a pistol he’s sure also has blue tape. You even have combat boots on, and your ankle bulges as if you have an ankle holster. You have a little pack attached to your tactical belt, and he spots some zip ties in an offhand pocket. The only thing you’re missing is a flag badge on your chest and your shoulder, as well as a unit badge. There’s eyeblack messily smudged underneath your eyes. Kyle laughs in disbelief and amazement, speechless for a moment. “What the fuck?”
You laugh, knowing his reaction is positive. You hold your rifle close to your chest, practicing good trigger discipline as your finger rests outside of the trigger guard. “You like it?” You ask, doing a little spin for him, allowing him to take in the details you put the effort in making. Kyle notes how heavy you sound and he laughs again. “Bloody hell, I didn’t know you were gettin’ this together! Yeah, I like it!” Kyle exclaims, approaching you. He reaches out and grabs your shoulders, moving you about as he pleases, clearly appreciating the detail. You grumble a bit as a complaint, but you let him do what he wants. “Jesus, how long did this take?” Kyle asks with an astonished tone. He’s quietly nitpicking it a bit—he is special forces, his brain cannot help it—but he overall really does like your aim for accuracy.
“Hm, well, maybe a month? A month or two?” You guess out loud, shrugging. “I wasn’t really keeping track.” Kyle snorts and shakes his head before looking at the rifle. “Before you say anything,” You utter, handing him the rifle. “It’s not an airsoft rifle, and it’s not real. My airsoft one is locked away.” Kyle blinks for a moment as he checks out the rifle, his eyes flickering between you as the gun sits in his arms so naturally. “You have an airsoft rifle??” Kyle asks, truly confused because last he checked, you didn’t play. You hum and you adjust your vest, the velcro ripping as you do so. “My friend wanted to get me into it so they gave me a lot of their old stuff. I’ve played a round or two, it’s actually fun.”
His eyebrows raise for a moment in acknowledgement and Kyle looks at you once again. His eyes slowly trace every detail of the uniform clinging to your body, the details, and the way your eyeblack is very poorly applied. Something tightens in his chest as you begin to ramble about how much research you did about tactical gear and how many pictures you used as reference. You’re murmuring something, but Kyle isn’t paying attention. His face feels a bit hot as his eyes are glued to you; he never understood why people liked tactical gear so much until now—something was.. feeling off inside of his gut.
“Kyle.”
He blinks rapidly before offering a smile and a questioning “hm?” You laugh and cross your arms in front of you, causing Kyle’s eyes to flicker away for a moment. “You spaced out.” You say, uncrossing your arms and taking the rifle from him. Kyle waves you off and rubs the back of his neck, his eyes looking towards the front door. “Mm, sure, c’mon. Let’s go.” Kyle laughs, a nervous feeling bubbling in his gut—a feeling he doesn’t understand. He opens the front door, swinging his keys around his pointer finger as his heart pounds hard in his chest. “Gonna be my DD?” You tease, Kyle hearing you close the door behind you two, hearing the gear you’re wearing shift around. Kyle refuses to look at you in fear of throwing up—he doesn’t understand why he’s suddenly so anxious—but he laughs, unlocking the car. “It is my turn, isn’t it?”

If you want to look good in camo and not like you listen to an unfortunate amount of Navy SEAL podcasts, you should pick a safe bet like M81 Woodland or a European variant and then branch out from there into DPM, CCE, and vz. 95. Strichtarn is also a good choice here if you're into a more subtle look.
If you're already confident in your style I suggest Korean Turtleshell, Alpenflage, or Flecktarn, which are all good choices for someone who knows how to put together an outfit and feels comfortable playing with fun patterns. Greek Lizard + subsequent tigerstripe patterns, and Swedish M90 also fit in here.
More modern Multicam stuff is unimaginative, if relatively inoffensive. I feel like OCP and the like will eventually reach the status that Woodland BDUs have now, but for now they're the T-shirt and jeans of the camo world. If you just really like the multicam look, I suggest springing for some British MPT. It's got touches of DPM in there, and is more interesting than just any other surplus US military uniform.
The bulk of this has been military, but you can find interesting stuff like vintage Bottomland and Duck Hunter (a descendant of WWII pacific theater camo) patterns as well.

But Without Futher A do Let's Let This Show On The Road.

First Lieutenant Jason Kolchek (cir. 1973) is one of the five main protagonists and a playable character in The Dark Pictures Anthology's third installment, House of Ashes. He is a United States Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance First Lieutenant and the squad leader of Mailman 2-1. Jason is a white American man. He has a white complexion with smooth skin, brown eyes and short brown hair.
For personal items, Jason wears a Blue T-shirt, a gray-green  shemagh, black watch on left wrist, and a gray baseball cap with  "Remember 9/11" marking. He has two tattoos on his arms: one on left  forearm, other - on right upper arm

He also dons  3-color desert camouflage fatigue pants with two kneepads and combat  boots. During the operation, Jason wears an earpiece with a small light  and radio on his left ear and is armed with a modified M4A1 carbine.

🇮🇶 Salim Othman
Tumblr media
This outfit set is created from Lt. Salim Ohman's character from the  "House of Ashes" game series, which is a young Iraqi officer. But this outfit set quite resemble on what Iraqi troops wore during the Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom campaign.
Actually since 1980s, Iraqi forces haven't clear pattern of uniform, in other words, Iraqi forces utilised anything they could wear to their troops, even some source show the usage of DPM camo set within the Army mixed by the SSh-68 helmet or what we show here. The outfit itself might be an influence from the old British army's field dress, as well as in other Arab states at that time.

Weapons (Exclusive to This Set)
-M4A1
Tumblr media
I personally fond of the weapons design in this game. but sadly I disapprove of the anachronism featured in the accessories selection. Starting with the Magpul products, Magpul Industries was established in 1999, resulting in its existence by the time of the Iraq War. The products depicted in the game were not accurate. Firstly, the MOE (Magpul Original Equipment) product lines were not officially released until 2008, which makes the stock on the M4A1 anachronistic. The pistol grip is not an original A2 type pistol grip since it does not have a finger hump, and there is an extension to the receiver. The handgrip could be a MOE handgrip, but it could also be the Magpul MIAD (Mission Adaptable) handgrip with adjustable back and front straps. The MIAD was released earlier than the MOE, but it was released in 2004, a year after the game's setting. The Marines used Magpul EMAGS (export mags) that had flat sides and a witness window for ammunition. These magazines were not released until 2009. The old steel or aluminum STANAGS would be accurate. While the M4A1 was correctly portrayed with a quad-railed handguard, the type of handguard used for military-issued carbines was incorrect. The rail that should be used is the Knight's Armament Company M4 RAS Forend. The rail system in the game seemed to be heavily influenced by the UTG two-piece handguard and the Surefire M82 handguard. While according to three veterans I talked to about military issued small arms (two Army and one Navy) it is possible to set up your rifle with what you want so having the UTG handguard is not impossible, but it begs the question of why these Marines would go out of their way to pay for the lesser quality of the UTG instead of using the standard issued Knight’s system. UTG was most likely what developers had access to for a reference.
[Custom]Colt M4 (Custom #65)
Tumblr media
But Fear Me Not I Eventually Decide to Fix All Those Fiasco With more Era Appropriate and Authentic M4 With Genuine Colt M16A2 Pistol Grip, Real M4A1 Stock, Steel STANAG 30-Rounds Magazine, Authentic Military-Issue Quad Rail Made By Knights Armaments Company (KAC). With Trijicon The Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (ACOG)
-Glock 17
Tumblr media
While Glocks did exist by 2003, but the Glock shown in the game would be 15 years too early because the game used the Generation 5 model of Glocks and Glock’s Gen 5 came out in 2018. The Gen 5 is characterized with the beveled front of the slide and frame, hole in the middle of the guide rod, front slide serrations (although the real Gen 5s’ serrations are straight, not slanted), no finger grooves on the the bottom of the frame (where the flashlight is attached in the game), an ambidextrous slide release, and only one trigger pin.
Glock 17 (#Custom 21)
Tumblr media
I made another fix to make it Fit into Game Settings and replaced it with Gen 3 Glocks. as This Particular Generation was Introduced in 1998. The Gen 3 has finger grooves, no front slide serrations, no ambidextrous slide release, no beveled front slide nor beveled frame, a rail on the bottom of the frame and two trigger pins. Attaching an aftermarket flashlight is possible with a rail on the bottom.
Tumblr media
BULGARIAN AKK-47
Just some Creativity Liberty I Take, Despite I Know the Facts AK That Used in Game in Fact Soviet Type 3 AK, But I Found it Interesting if they using Bulgarian Ones
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Iraqi Tariq Pistol
The pistol of the Republican Guard in the game was the Beretta 1951, or rather its Iraqi copy: the Tariq. The giveaway that it’d likely be the Tariq was the presence of a medallion on the pistol grip, something the original Beretta did not have. Besides the incorrect shape of the slide release and the three holes in the trigger.
