An Illinois suburb decided against moving forward with a plan to have residents house migrants in their homes following a councilman’s viral proposal to put together a "sign-up" sheet.

Naperville, an affluent suburb located roughly 30 miles west of Chicago, had considered having residents volunteer to bring migrants into their homes amid concerns that Chicago’s struggles to house migrants may spill over into the suburbs.

On Thursday, city staff decided it was not necessary for Naperville residents to sign up as other state and federal agencies were making lists of shelters for migrants in need of housing, WLS-TV reported.

Josh McBroom, a city council member, made headlines during a Jan. 16 council meeting discussion about what his city should do if a wave of illegal immigrants arrived in their neighborhood as they have in other neighboring towns. McBroom suggested a sign-up sheet for those willing to open their homes to migrants.

•After Rosalynn's birth, in this fanfiction JJ decided to leave her job to stay home with her kids. I'm sorry if this doesn't seem like something she would do to you, but in my opinion, it is very "in character" for her.

•Rosalynn is an OC, but also "represents" the baby JJ lost in 2011 in "Criminal minds", and she is the same age as that baby would have been in 2016. Henry is also the same as he was in the show in 2016. Their nanny is also an OC, obviously.

•I've made Michael two years older than he was in "Criminal minds", just because I liked to have a three-year age gap between him and Rosalynn too, just like the one between her and Henry. I obviously had to warn you about this.

September 6, 2016 was definitely one of the messiest and most tiring, yet proudest days of Emily Prentiss' life.

That morning her sons, 8-year-old Henry and 2-year-old Michael, started third grade and daycare and in five days, her 5-year-old daughter Rosalynn was going to start kindergarten.

They had had everything ready for the kids' first days of school for days.

The clothes Emily had helped them pick out had been washed and placed on the hangers, the boys' backpacks were ready and a nanny to look after Rosalynn all day for five days and all three children after school for the entire year had been hired back in early August.

They had everything prepared and were pretty proud of themselves for it, and yet, that morning all that could have possibly gone wrong ended up going wrong.

For starters, they all woke up almost half an hour later than they were supposed to.

Then, while preparing breakfast, Emily burned two out of seven pancakes she was trying to make, so she had to skip that meal in order for her kids to eat enough.

Then, after breakfast, the nanny called her to say she was running late too.

And last but not least, Michael, who was in process of getting potty-trained, had an accident in his underwear right before he, his mama and his brother walked out of the house, so Emily had to go back inside to clean and change him.

"It's on days like this that I miss you the most, my love" the woman couldn't help but whisper as she and her sons finally got in the car, talking to her late wife.

Jennifer, whom most people called "JJ", had passed away due to cancer three months earlier, and her death had completely destroyed her wife and their children's world.

Before Rosalynn had been born, just like Emily, JJ had been an FBI agent, but after the arrival of her second baby, she had happily quit her job and become a stay-at-home mother.

That had naturally meant that she was the one who took care of the house and the kids the most, and during her illness and after her death, Emily, Henry, Rosalynn and Michael had had to go through big adjustements that still hadn't ended to be able to go on without her.

"What if the other children ask why I say I have two moms when they can only see one now?" Henry questioned when the car was stopped in front of his school.

"Tell them the truth" Emily replied, trying to make it sound like it was a simple thing and to seem calm while her sons could see her "Say that your mommy died and now she is in the stars, but she is still a part of our family".

Henry sighed, looking unconvinced, but still nodded, so his mama gave him a quick hug and Michael waved to him before he got out of the car.

"Why Mommy in stars?" Michael asked a few minutes later, while Emily was driving towards his daycare "Why not here?".

A lump instantly formed in his mama's throat when she heard those words.

Just like her children, sometimes she wondered why her wife had had to leave them, why she couldn’t come back to life.

And like Michael, she hadn't been able to give herself a rational, but also convincing answer yet.

Jennifer would have known what to say, just like she always did, but that time, neither of them could go to her to ask for help.

"I don't know, Honey" she decided to tell her little boy, forcing herself to smile "But from where she is now, she is protecting us just like she did when she was here. That's why we light candles for her and talk to her picture".

She didn't know how, but she somehow managed to hold it together until she left Michael at daycare.

Then, however, she sat in her car in the parking lot and just cried for probably over fifteen minutes, praying no one was going to arrive and see her in such a state.

She always tried to put on a brave face at work and to look like she was alright in front of her mother, her mother-in-law and especially her children, but it was so hard to have to continue living without Jennifer.

It still broke Emily's heart to have to do normal every day things while all she would have liked to do was be reunited with her love.

She wanted to see her wife again, yes, but where would that have happened?

She had decided to tell their kids that their mommy was in the stars, but she wasn't actually sure of that.

Almost every night, when she spoke to the photo of Jennifer she now kept on her bedside table to say "Goodnight" to her, she also asked "Where did you go, Sweetheart? Where are you?".

No one could have answered those questions, but wherever her love was, all Emily hoped was that she was happy and no longer in pain, and that things would have stayed like that until they would have met again where souls go after they leave the bodies they belong in.

Yesterday at 7:00pm CST (my local time zone here in Illinois in the Chicago metropolitan area in the United States)/8:00pm EST, I enjoyed watching the new live-action/animated short film from Disney at @disneyanimation, Once Upon a Studio. This short brings me a lot of nostalgia watching many classic and modern Disney theatrical animated films back in my childhood in the late 90s-2000s and in my teen and adulthood in the 2010s era. Characters from animated Disney movies I watched as a kid in the 2000s, Brother Bear, Chicken Little, and The Emperor’s New Groove appear, and one of my favorite Disney movies from the 2010s era, Wreck-It Ralph appears (at it was released back I when I was only 13 years old when it was released). Aired on ABC (on my local ABC (owned and operated) TV station, WLS-TV in Chicago, IL).

Yes, as I frequently told you guys about my birth year, I was born in 1999, the same year when Tarzan came out in theatres.

Also last one, I’m in the same metropolitan area where Walt Disney was born, and his house is open to the public in time for his studio’s 100th anniversary.

I’m watching this again on Disney Channel and Disney+ soon and in theatres with Wish (as the main protagonist, Asha appeared to promote the studio’s next animated film).

Disney is one of my favorite entertainment brands and the company I grew up with, alongside with Warner Bros. (as the studio is also celebrating it’s 100th anniversary with Disney, owns Cartoon Network, Looney Tunes, and various others), NBCUniversal (as they own Illumination and DreamWorks, Paramount Global (as they own Nickelodeon), and Nintendo.

Once you get through even the first day, things will change, youll crave junk food less and less, untill the cravings are almost gone. Some foods are addictive and they are made to be addictive, think of it on the same level as a drug.

☆think, “ if i eat this ill eat more, and i wont stop” thats the core of what binges are really, you taste greasy, salty, suagry addictive foods and you cant get enough of them after youve had them even just once. Youll start to crave them.

☆ eating the same thing everyday, and having the same cal limit everyday ive been eating nothing but pickles and mints for the past few days, i wouldnt eat at the exact same time everyday, explained why in the next bullet vv

☆ loosening up on restrictions, ik it sounds stupid, but it works for me, basically i upped my cal limit just coming out of my binge, and lowered it slowly according to the average i was eating everyday, i still tracked my cals ofc, i didnt plan different cal limits for eatch day like a themed diet, all this because if you break one of your internal rules youll think “well todays already trashed so might as well enjoy it now and end it tmr“ and youll FEEL awful, the feeling wont leave you, so if you loosen up your restrictions especially just coming out of a binge youll lessen the feelings of guilt, and then you can just focus on eating less

☆ eating breakfast, this is gonna sound cliche, youve probs heard it a million times, but it helped me, eating even the smallest thing for breakfast can make a difference

☆ eating ( somtimes ) when im hungry, also cliche, if i felt a hunger pang ide adress it with caffeine, nic ( pls dont start nic for apetite suppressant, there are so many other options ), distractions, exercise, lots of water, and if it kept on ide eat a little bit of a low cal snack, and done!

☆ make a cute little list of dirstractions to choose from, it helps cuz yk i have poo brain, if its not written infront of me ill forget its an option

☆ convincing myself that the food i want tastes like sh1t

☆ food sabotage, a classic

☆c/s it helps with cravings but it wouldnt be my first option

☆soy sauce, savory cravings, dab some on your finger and lick it off

☆ dont watch tv/youtube while eating, when you do you chew faster mindlessly therefore feeling less full afterwards, that and as someone that had bed in the past, it gets to a point where you have a hard time enjoying youtube/tv without food so youll start craving it when watching youtube/tv. Making eating a chore helps, downlod a chewing app (i recommend chewing diet), and walk around while you eat, or sit down, just dont play anything even in the background.

Last night I got high and wrote a program to find all of the unused elemental symbols. It turns out there’s 585 of them and it’s much less interesting the next day.

One interesting finding: I couldn’t be bothered to generate all possible one and two letter strings, so I asked ChatGPT to write me code that would do all that for me. It worked surprisingly well!

A pregnant woman was shot and killed while trying to rob a group of people on Chicago’s north side, Illinois police say.

The woman, identified as 21-year-old Genesis Escobar, was seven months pregnant, Chicago police told TV station WLS. Neither she nor her unborn child survived.

The botched robbery happened at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 6, on the 5200 block of W. Montana Street, according to a Chicago Police Department release.

Escobar got into a vehicle with multiple people inside and “announced a robbery,” the release said. But the situation turned violent and “there was an exchange of gunfire” between someone outside the vehicle and those inside — with Escobar apparently caught in the crossfire.

She was shot three times, with bullets striking her in the shoulder, back and hand, police said. She died at the scene.

Investigators believe the person firing from outside the vehicle was Escobar’s boyfriend, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Iris Alvarez, a friend of Escobar’s, heard the gunfire and witnessed the aftermath, CBS Chicago reported.

When the shooting stopped, she saw the driver get out of the vehicle and dump Escobar onto the ground, Alvarez told the outlet. Then they threw some cash on top of her and drove off.

“My heart is broken in pieces,” she said.

Police haven’t announced any arrests as of March 9 but an investigation is underway.
