🍬Professor Dumbledore🍬

Believe it or not, this one took a long time to make (whaaaaat, it's only been like twenty days since Madam Pomfrey came online! That's nothing... > note the sarcasm here). I know, it took a while to figure out how I wanted Dumbledore to look. I had a good idea of the 'vibe' I wanted him to portray. It was the costume I struggled with. Drawing long robes and making them look somewhat personal/fashionable isn't the easiest thing to do. He is a very respected man and I wanted him to look responsible. However, he's also described as somewhat mad... so he needed to have something 'cooky' as well. You see my dilemma. I ended up with something of a formula: he wears long robes, like Gandalf, but the robes are very sophisticated. There are patterns, colours, embroidery and jewels. The robes are tied with fancy rope or a belt. Not to mention he wears a pointy hat because he's a stereotypical old wizard :)

Dumbledore has always been a fascinating character to me. Very duplicitous. He tells the truth but withholds it too. He lies, but we’re unsure if it’s for the benefit of someone else or himself. He protects Harry but puts him in danger as well. I’ve never really agreed with the idea of him being a father figure. He’s not parental. Dumbledore is a scholar, first and foremost. He craves knowledge and would sooner watch events unfold if it means gaining wisdom from it.

That’s what makes Dumbledore so complicated, yet fascinating.

Now, a few final words. Something I DO NOT understand about the Fantastic Beasts films.. WHO decided it was a good idea to put Dumbledore in these gentlemanly muggle clothes when he was teaching at Hogwarts, when we fully know that he was born and raised a WIZARD, teaches at a MAGIC school with ✨MAGICAL ✨MAGIC AND MAGIC. ✨🔮⚡️ It does not explain how he evolved to 'long bearded' 'half-moon glasses ' 'purple robes' Headmaster Dumbledore at a later age🧐 I love most of the costumes from Fantastic Beasts, but this I simply cannot condone 🙄

🩹Madam Pomfrey 🩺 Everyone's favourite Healer :) Drawing her was great! I had already done a few sketches of the Healer uniform, so it was easy to do the costume. I was thinking more about the way she styles her hair. I like this a lot, it makes her look friendly and maternal, which she is.

I always love reading bits in the books with Madam Pomfrey. She is so discrete and caring. She doesn't ask questions and doesn't judge. She just wants to protect the students, even if it means yelling at the Minister for Magic, which is bad ass... On this page, we stan Madam Pomfrey! Hope you like her :) 🧡✨

🥀💀 Bellatrix Black 💀🥀

There she is, the Mistress of Evil :) She scares me so much. I wanted to share a few thoughts on young Bellatrix. She’s rough around the edges, she has a blatant dark side and she’s not scared of anything, which makes her reckless.

In contrast to her sisters, Bellatrix is not afraid to show her sharp edges. She doesn’t care about being liked and she likes to shock people. Her views on the Wizarding World are extreme, like her parents, and her loyalty to the Dark Arts and the Dark Lord runs deep. I feel like she would be good at mind games and psyching people out, alongside having a talent for curses and violence. I look forward to drawing her adult self, to see what damage Azkaban has done to her :)

I put the sketches here again, to compare them with the end result. I’m glad I took the time to sketch out some outfit ideas. Bellatrix’s style is so specific and bold, I needed to practice :)

Kicking off the Teachers... Professor McGonagall! Don't get me wrong, I love Minnie, but she is hard to draw... I struggled with poses and robes and the 'tude because she has tons of it :) However! I like how this has turned out. She is one classy older lady. Do you want to take a guess at who'll be next?

🎵🎶 Professor Flitwick 🎶🎵

This was a fun illustration! I liked getting to put my own spin on this teacher. The only description in the books was: he’s a tiny wizard. So, I thought about the role he plays in the books. He’s a kind, good teacher who cares about his job and his students. I imagine he chaperones all kinds of student clubs, because he wants students to explore their interests, like a true Ravenclaw :) He conducts the choir and spruces up the castle during holidays. I bet he plays games in the classroom and does thematic spells for holidays, like hollowing pumpkins for Halloween.

For his design I took some inspiration from old English universities and their professors’ attire. With the long robes and tweed suits. I put my own spin on it and made it more formal and magical, with colour and prints. I subconsciously made him a little bit queer-looking, but I really really like that vibe for him. I hope you like it too! I wouldn’t be opposed to a gay professor Flitwick :)

✨Luna Lovegood ✨

I am aware that I draw Luna a lot… this time it’s not my fault. I did an instagram poll for the next drawing and Luna came out on top! 🙆🏼‍♀️ Also, the last version I drew of her (with the uniforms) was a year ago, so this is the newest version.

I love her so much. I was just thinking, while drawing this one, that Luna would probably be the type of girl to keep a scrapbook, wouldn’t she? She’d stick flowers and ribbons in it and tickets and weird stuff like the labels of jam jars or pumpkin juice. I can see it clearly.. it started when she was a child and she’d craft little paper thingies for her diary. Then it became bigger and bigger and she’d have to ask her parents for a bigger book to stick all her crafts in, because duh… the Bigger the Better! And: “Because the dog I made out of cardboard doesn’t fit in the A5 journal, Dad! Also… can I have a puppy?” 🥹

It just… it fits. I believe it fits.

Anyway, hope you enjoy Luna. I love drawing her. 🩵💙🩵

🌝🌼Pandora 🌼🌝

I love women. They are the most fun to draw. And Luna and Pandora...! They just flow right onto the paper, with no effort needed. Now, Pandora needs to come with a little bit of a disclaimer. I don't know a lot about her... I know a lot of people like to refer to her by the surname Rosier, making her related to Evan. This is wonderful and so creative. I love that idea. However, I like to leave some room for interpretation with Pandora. We don't officially know what her maiden name is and I want people to be able to spin their own tale. So here's Pandora. She is the mother of Luna Lovegood, she has the same poofy, blonde hair and a sense of self-made style she passed onto her daughter. I wanted her to look just as playful as Luna, but maybe a little more tough... I did get a few tips on Instagram from people who shared some of their favourite headcannons about Pandora, so I tried to use those in my design. Like, she's very maternal, but fierce when she wants/has to be. I liked that. Then, I added my own interpretation: that she's so clever and always living in her head, she doesn't really pay a lot of attention to what's going on around her, making her a bit clumsy and prone to bumping into things and/or tripping over her shoelaces, etc. Also, she's like a magpie. She sees shiny things and has to put them on, put them in her pockets, hang them on necklaces, or anything really. Final note: there was the option of making her very '70s hippie', as I've seen her portrayed before, which is very fitting. But ( :) ), I didn't love the idea.. so I did my own little thing. Commissions

Hello everyone! I have opened up my commissions :) I have received quite a few messages on this subject in the past months and I've finally gotten around to making an overview. Now, I must ask everyone to respect my terms. I'm very excited to work with all of you, so let's keep it fun for both of us <3 The usual turnaround of a commission is 2-4 weeks, depending on how busy my schedule gets. Four weeks is a guarantee, that I can assure you. I hope we get to make some beautiful art together!

i just found ur account and wanted to let u know that i’m absolutely obsessed!!

i love the way u somehow combine this childlike wonder and nostalgia i connect with discovering the hp-verse so many years ago with the modern versions and stories i have in my head now. just beautiful.

You know, this wonderful message made me stop for a minute. I was just sitting casually at the breakfast table, eating my oatmeal, reading my little book, sipping my coffee, listening to my Dad mutter about taxes, and my mother giggling over cat videos... Every regular Friday morning, right? ... Where was I? Oh right, I read your message! And I felt my heart swell <3 Thank you. It's so lovely to hear that you experience my art like this. I do these drawings mostly for fun because I've always loved drawing HP characters and putting my own spin on the world. And since creating this blog, that has changed so much. For the better, don't worry :) I get messages like this and I'm reminded of how much fun it is to share art. I think I read all the books for the first time when I was nine...? Nine or ten, I think. It changed my life! It sparked a lifetime of reading pleasure and an obsession with fantasy and fairytales. Then, I was already drawing the characters and imagining how it would feel to live in the Wizarding World. And it's just like you said, creating this art now feels nostalgic, yet new at the same time. We're all adults now (most of us, I think, I don't actually know) but we can't let childlike wonder ever go away. It is what keeps us creative and opens our minds and hearts to new and exciting experiences. That is what I want people to feel when they experience my art. The little spark of magic that never really went away. My art is for the eleven-year-old versions of ourselves that never got their Hogwarts letter.

Question...

I have a question for you. I I were to sell.. stickers or prints of my art, would you be interested in that? For example... a sticker sheet of the Triwizard portraits. Or a series of prints of character sheets. Prints of my Marauder portraits... Stuff like that. Would you be interested in that? Or have you seen things on my page that you'd like to see available?

My brain is braining and I figured I'd ask :)
