do have metal recommendations? I'm new to it. really completely new
*typing up a storm* You just activated the autism in me! 😄
Alright, here's a brief overview. Followers, feel free to recommend songs in the comments, if you listen to metal.
What bands you should know, at least their names:
Black Sabbath, Sepultura, Kiss, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Pantera, Anthrax, Helloween.
No need to know and like their songs, just know that they exist. There are some more, but you'll encounter them eventually anyway, I'm sure. Note that certain old bands are controversial now, for example Pantera and Metallica.
Some recommendations:
Heavy Metal:
The "How it began" part. Just check out Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath. You should know
youtube
Thrash Metal:
The earlier albums of Metallica, Testament, Exodus, and of course Slayer. "Raining Blood"
youtube
is well known, and I connect "Bloodline"
youtube
with long road trips as a child.
Doom Metal:
Some Black Sabbath is also considered doom metal. Apart from that I recommend Pentagram and Witchfinder General.
Black Metal:
Not mine, personally, except for certain derivatives, but they'll come later. I like very few black metal songs. They are:
youtube
youtube
Death Metal:
Many subgenres, I personally prefer Melodic Death Metal. Cannibal Corpse is well-known and also Obituary. Check out Debauchery, some In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, and Arch Enemy too. Recommendation:
youtube
But to be honest, most Children of Bodom songs sound alike 😂
Dark Metal/Gothic Metal:
Hard to sort the whole discography of one band into this subgenre. Some Cradle of Filth, some Sirenia, some Samsas Traum, Type O Negative. I also like
youtube
Power Metal:
Sabaton, Powerwolf, Manowar (not everything), HammerFall, Grave Digger (not everything), Sonata Arctica, some Blind Guardian. Power Metal often has characteristics of Symphonic Metal in some songs, so it's hard to put one band in one strict category.
Symphonic Metal:
Nightwish, Xandria, Within Temptation, Epica. Too many favourites to recommend a specific song.
Progressive Metal:
Dream Theater, Opeth, Tool, Symphony X. Specific song:
youtube
Folk Metal:
Some Ensiferum, some Eluveitie, Týr, Finntroll, some Svartsot, Korpiklaani. Song recommendation:
youtube
Viking Metal:
This is actually a "Whatever, as long as it's about Norse stuff and the Viking age" genre. This is why many death metal, folk metal, and power metal bands ALSO are considered viking metal.
Amon Amarth are very well-known, I'd recommend
youtube
Pagan Metal:
Also a "Whatever, as long" category. Most folk metal bands are simultaneously pagan metal. Moonsorrow are more black metal but also pagan metal, which is why I'll briefly mention them here.
There also are Varg, but if I'm not mistaken they had some right wing stuff going on, so be careful there. I'm not sure what happened, but I think some of the band members openly supported a neonazi group. Could be that the members were kicked out after that, but even if everything is alright now, they still have a negative connotation.
Somewhere in between all this, there's Alestorm. They're also considered pirate metal, btw. But I'm not actively into that, which is why I put them somewhere in-between.
Industrial Metal:
This is your outsider, and I think every band considered "Industrial Metal" is at the same time considered 5 genres more. Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails, Eisbrecher (some would say it's Gothic), Ministry.
Nu Metal:
Some people would say "Nu Metal isn't metal!!!", but I like it anyway. Check out Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Disturbed. "Duality" by Slipknot is the song of a common meme ("I push my fingers into my eyes") 😄
Also Machine Head, but it's hard to categorise them. I just checked, Wikipedia says they're sometimes considered "neo-thrash". Well I guess they're a bit of everything, but their newer albums definitely have nu metal character.
Metalcore:
If you say you're a metalhead but only listen to metalcore, metalheads will hate you for this. Just so you know. ☝🏼 It's a valid genre, but you're on thin ice if you don't listen to other metal genres. There are many overlapping genres here, which is why, again, it's difficult to label bands.
Parkway Drive (some would scream that they're post hardcore), Silverstein (some would scream that they're hardcore punk, others that they're emo), As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Bullet For My Valentine (some would scream that they're emo, others would say they're heavy metal), Bring Me The Horizon depending on the song, August Burns Red.
Lamb of God are considered metalcore too, but in my opinion they're more metal than metalcore. Anyway I'll mention them here for the sake of classification.
Yeah, that's about it, I guess. This post is already very long, so I guess I better stop at this point. I hope from here on you'll manage to navigate through the big metal genre yourself 😄
P.S.: I forgot Trivium! "Feast Of Fire" is currently stuck in my head

Introduction
Hello! this is just a quick about-me post to get people introduced to me and my practice. This is quite a long post, so if you don't want to read all of it, it'll be broken up into a few distinct sections of basic info, my practice (witchcraft), my practice (religion), and my hobbies/interests. If you have any other questions, feel free to send an ask or leave it in the comments. I'm doing my best to format this, so if you have any advice for formatting, please leave that in the comments too :)
Basic info:
You can call me Rook or Cloud
Any pronouns, but i especially prefer they/them and it/its
I'm a minor, so proceed with some caution, and dni if you're uncomfy with that
Genderqueer (possibly genderfluid? idk lmao)
Gray-aromantic
Asexual
ADHD
GAD
Practicing witch (eclectic/heathen) :0
Pagan/Lokean
Writer (including some poetry)
Artist (of many kinds)
Entomology, mycology, ornithology, lepidopterology, herpetology, and botany (i really like biology if you couldn't tell)
I also sew, embroider, and crochet!
My practice (witchcraft):
I'm a witch!! Eclectic is pretty accurate for me, but I do use a lot of heathenry in my practice. I collect crystals for both spiritual purposes and the fact that they're generally pretty cool :) I tend to do mostly low-energy spells, but I do enjoy larger and more elaborate rituals and spells when I have the time and motivation. I love divination, and would absolutely love to do readings for people if anyone wants one! you can just send me an ask if you'd like. I'm most experienced with tarot cards and oracle cards, but I also use pendulums, playing cards, tasseomancy (tea leaf reading), osseomancy (bone throwing/reading, although you don't just have to use bones for this), and more! currently I'm researching spirit work, shadow work, plant spirits, and astral projection/the astral realm.
My practice (religion):
I'm a pagan!! I only work closely with Loki, so I also use the term Lokean. Loki is my patron deity, so I work very very closely with him, and I'd love to tell you guys about him! Previously I have worked with the fae, but I wasn't taking it seriously enough, and didn't know enough to really do it properly. I may start working with them again now that I've learned more about myself and my beliefs. I also may start working with Lucifer, but I need to keep researching him.
My hobbies/interests:
As mentioned above, I love biology in general, but I am especially interested in entomology, mycology, ornithology, lepidopterology, herpetology, and botany. I am an amateur houseplant collector, and my most prized specimens are my (very small) Monstera albo, my (very large) pothos with 9+ inch long leaves, and my huge fiddle leaf fig! I'm currently planning on starting to pin insects, raise moths, and raise mantids. I love Dungeons and Dragons, so I'd love to geek out about that with somebody >:) I also do a lot of fiber work when I have time, specifically embroidery, sewing, and crocheting. I enjoy learning about music-theory, and compose a little bit. my favorite bands are Fall Out Boy, Ghost, Witchfinder General, Candlemass, Tom Lerher, and Chappel Roan. I also write, draw, paint, and sculpt!
Alright, that should be it! Sorry, that was definitely a lot, but thanks for reading to the end :DD See y'all later!

Hi, Hey there!
I've had this blog up for a few weeks so I figured I'd introduce myself. Not gonna reveal my actual name for security reasons but just call me Kosmic.
I currently live in the USA (Unfortunately). I'm genderfluid and really don't care what pronouns I am referred to with as long as they're not it/it's. I'm also an aspiring writer but for now I mostly just write fanfiction. Mostly Saint Seiya related obviously though I've been working on other stuff.
You can find my AO3 account here:
I've also been working on art but I'm still a beginner.
I try to be a nice person. (Though I'm not sure if I'm good at it because I can't stop swearing.) I don't accept racism, ableism, bullying, kin exclusionists or gatekeeping, misogyny, homophobia or anything anti-lgbt...
Yeah, Just don't be a dick. It's not hard.
Also don't be a sicko, no pedophila or zoophilia.
Some other stuff about me in case you care:
I'm a minor, don't be a creep.
I have ADHD, tend to hyperfixate on weird stuff. Then again a lot of people on this website do. Just saying I'm not one to judge people when I think about my interests.
I'm agnostic but I'm not going to crap on anyone for having a religion, as long as you're not a Jehovah's Witness. Screw those abusive idiots.
My hobbies are reading, writing, drawing, playing retro games, creating OCs, watching documentaries, and staying up at three AM regretting all of my life's choices
My favorite shows are: Saint Seiya (1986), Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas, Ronin Warriors, Ranma 1/2, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, Astro Boy, Jetter Mars, Sonic Prime, Sonic X, Beastars, Thundercats (both 1986 and 2011), Futurama, Kimba the White Lion, Cowboy Bebop, To Kai Watch, Captain Scarlet, Black Jack, Samurai Jack, Ampanman, The Amazing World of Gumball, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, Danger Mouse, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai (AKA Power Rangers)
My favorite movies: the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, AKIRA, the Barbie movie (don't judge), Godzilla, Plague Dogs, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Saint Seiya: Legend of the Crimson Youth, Chirin's Bell, The amazing Spider-Man, Toy Story 3, The Iron Giant, Into the Spiderverse, also as of now gotta add the FNAF movie
Favorite video games: Sonic the Hedgehog series, Phantasy Star 4, Columns, Panel De Pon, Mega Man, PulseMan, Mario Kart 8, Pokemon: Legends Arceus, Animal Crossing, Earthbound, Poyo Poyo/Mean Bean Machine, Sin and Punishment, Harvest Moon, Star Fox
Favorite Bands/Musical Artists: Jack Stauber, Daft Punk, Lemon Demon, Caravan Palace, Tally Hall, Miura Ayme, Rammstein, The Living Tombstone, Rare Americans, Nirvana, Rammstein, Witchfinder General, Gorillaz
Favorite books: The Golden Compass, The Most Dangerous Game, Magnus Chase, Heros of Olympus (or basically anything by Rick Riordan), Death Note, Beastars (manga), Inuyasha, The Lovely Bones (I fucking cried so hard), MAUS (Made me cry harder), City of Ember, Journey to the West, Most classic creepypastas mainly "Abandoned by Disney" (YES. I know they're not books), Cells at Work, AKIRA (Manga)
So... Um... Yeah.
I like to talk with people about my interests so don't be afraid to give me a message. (As long as it doesn't promise "hot singles" in my area, I'm not that stupid.)
Updates:
I have a discord under the name robotic carnival and a side blog Tezuka Brainrot.
I am fictokin of: Cobalt from Astro Boy mainly.
Partially:
Mars from Jetter Mars.
Jibanyan from Yo Kai Watch
Rika from Phantasy Star.
Akane Tendo and Ryoga Hibbikki from Ranma 1/2
Cygnus Hyoga, Pegasus Seiya, and Aquarius Camus from Saint Seiya.
And the flag on my profile picture is ADHD flag.
Cringe and proud. ♥️
My husbandos are Doctor Yamanoue and Doctor Kawashimo from Jetter Mars, Phoenix Ikki from Saint Seiya, James/Kojiro from Pokemon, and Rune from Phantasy Star.
I can't beat Zio PLZ someone tell me how.
I am pro Palestine and I will accept no support of genocide.
I am neutral on the Joe Hawley situation as he has done terrible things yet does not deserve to be hacked or harassed.
Also ship discourse and fanfiction censorship discourse is dumb I don't care anymore. And regret my past actions. Don't harass over stuff you don't like but also tag your shit. You can't complain about people judging you if you are irresponsible about keeping it where it belongs.

Do u like the metal band Robespierre? They seem up your alley 🦇✨
I read this ask last night and my research immediately started... it's awesome stuff. I mean, look at the "Die, You Heathen, Die!" cover:
Tumblr media
Thermidorian Robespierre vibes everywhere. The guillotine. The colors. THE HEAD.
I really enjoyed this album. It's NWOBHM with raw vocals and overall heavier. In some tracks like "Robespierre", "Die You Heathen, Die" and "Battle of the Ninth Thermidor" you even get some doomy vibes (I shared this with a friend and he said "kind of Black Sabbath style" but I go more for early Pagan Altar and Witchfinder General)
"Call me Satan, call me lord - call my name in prayer Call me master, call me father - call me Robespierre"
(I can't stop singing that, help)
So, dear anon... I have to say THANK YOU SO MUCH 🖤 for this awesome recommendation! find a copy of the cd reissue or the lp record seems like very hard, but maybe someday... and now my idea for a doom metal named Saint-Just or Archangel of Death makes a LOT more sense 💀
"Ninth Thermidor may see me no more But I will live forever!"
True words ~

BITCHES SIN—“Predator”
This is certainly one of the best albums to come out this year. The Toomey Brothers are two of the most amazing guitarist I’ve ever heard. Thier speed and thier overall tone is just incredible. The Bitches have been around a few years and have had some personnel chances leading up to this album’s release. Every track on this album Kills. Each one has it’s own little individual personality in it’s sound that makes them all great and fun to listen to. The production of the album itself lacks as far as having a big beefy sound, but the material makes up for it by completely kicking ass. Very unique sounds and great structures, very raw and rockin. A few of the stand outs are “Strangers on the Shore” (different version then the one on HM Heroes, a classic compilation album), “Loser” and “Aardschok”. Bitches Sin originally started recording for Neat Records and are now on the legendary Heavy Metal Records label. In between they have one single on Neat “Always Ready (for love)” and “Sign of the times”; one track also appears on HM Heroes and another track can be found on Lead Weight, also a great compilation album. They have 2 demo tapes in cassette form and finally the debut album “Predator” which is a must.
Japanese metal: LAZY’s recent material is worth checking out but the old stuff is Bay City Rollers sort of shit. 5X is another one to look out for along with LOUDNESS and a solo album from thier guitarist AKIRA entitled “Tusk of the Jaguar.
New albums out: “Death in the Nursery” by LEGEND is great. VANDALE has a new one as do Boston boys AEROSMITH “Rock in a hard place”. New albums also out by RUSH and TYGERS OF PAN TANG.
More records to look out for: Heavy Metal Heroes Vol. II, new LP from Witchfinder General, Diamond Head will release an album on MCA in the U.K., Venom has a new LP called “Black Metal” and the old Scorpions classic, Lonesome Crow, will be released as a picture disc. Italian HM band Strike has a new album out, as do Hawkwind, Def Leppard and Handsome Beast. Look out for Leadweight Vol. 2

Immortal Sÿnn signs with UK Label, Heavy Metal Records
DENVER, Colorado - Denver heavy metal band, Immortal Sÿnn, has inked a distribution deal with UK-based record label, Heavy Metal Records.
“We’re excited to finally be getting some recognition and progressing forward after years of paying our dues as an independent artist,” said guitarist and band founder Tony Z. “I’ve been doing this since 2004, and am excited to finally have a label behind us that has worked with some really hard-hitting bands in the past!”
Dan Morris, a representative of the label says of the company, “Established in 1978, Heavy Metal Records is the original heavy metal label. It was one of the leading contributors to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Having bands like Witchfinder General, Scorpions, Diamond Head, and Accept as alumni, they are a clear powerhouse of the metal world.”
The band had been in talks with the label since early August 2023, and signed a deal in December to have the label distribute their long-awaited EP, Hellspawn, a follow-up to their 2021 full-length album, Force of Habit.
“This is a big turning point for us!” exclaimed guitarist, Brad Wagner. “I’m excited to see where we go from here, and what the future may hold.”
The label plans to release four of the five songs from the EP as singles every six weeks beginning with “The Truth” on March 8th. The full EP is slated for release on August 23rd.
Since Tony Z revived Immortal Sÿnn in 2012 following a six-year hiatus, the Denver-based heavy metal band has steadily been making a name for themselves both locally and abroad. They have independently released 14 singles, 2 EPs, 2 full-length albums, and 3 compilation albums. Their latest release is Live Cuts and Rarities: Vol. 2, a collection of previously-unreleased tracks, alternate mixes, and live cuts.
The band has completed four US tours, and has opened for a variety of well-known acts including Hammerfall, Tommy Vext, Flotsam & Jetsam, Loudness, Winger, Ratt, and more. The group is in the midst of planning their 2024 summer tour which will take them through the southern United States.
In August 2023, Immortal Sÿnn enlisted former Grim Reaper and Grip Inc. bassist, Chaz Grimaldi, as their newest member.
For more information, please visit the band’s website at immortalsynn.com.
