12: what's your favorite planet?
13: what's something that made you smile today?
18: tell us about something dumb/funny you did that has since gone down in history between you and your friends and is always brought up.
22: are you a morning person?
26: what are the shoes you've had for forever and wear with every single outfit?
32: tell us a story of something that happened to you after 3AM when you were with friends.
41: what's the last book you remember really, really loving?
51: think of a person. what song do you associate with them?
72: are you a person who needs to note everything down or else you'll forget it?
74: describe a good friend of yours without using their name or gendered pronouns.
99: list some songs that resonate to your soul whenever you hear them.
Wassup, Slyth!
Heyyy, Mochi! Thanks for the asks! <3
12: what's your favorite planet? Gotta go with a tie between Mercury and Venus. Mercury is the God of Thieves and Venus is the Goddess of Love and Beauty. Call me a nerd but I love me some mythology.
13: what's something that made you smile today? HOW MANY NUMBERS YOU PUT HERE. And the fact that I got a slurpee.
18: tell us about something dumb/funny you did that has since gone down in history between you and your friends and is always brought up. Oh my god, Elsa body pillows. It’s not between friends, just between one of us, but whenever we hang out we just look at each other and if one of us isn’t feeling it, we just bring up Elsa body pillows. Funniest shit ever.
22: are you a morning person? Depends on when I wake up. 5am? Yes. 6am? No. 9am? Hit or miss.
26: what are the shoes you've had for forever and wear with every single outfit? I mean...I have combat boots I’ve had for 2 years and I swear I wear them with jeans, cargo pants (they’re jogger style), sdjfnsdjkfn everything. They’re so comfy. But then I got my fake timbs and I wear those. They’re a taller heel and make me feel like a top.
32: tell us a story of something that happened to you after 3AM when you were with friends. Michie I’m happy you assume I have friends but I really don’t lmao. I’ve been stuck on these two questions for a while. I’m gonna tell you stuff about my siblings because I hang out with them a lot and there’s only more dumb stories to come since they got a new house. So we went to Crackerbarrel really late (it was around 1-2 or something) because we wanted pancakes, right? And my god there were so many things said at the table AND on the way there.
Sister-in-law: Are you going the speed limit? Brother: AbsoLUTELY not.
Brother: You were so adorable...You sounded like an orca.
Me: *mimics sister-in-law* Brother & sister-in-law at the same time: Shut up, Evie. Brother: Ha, nice one, babe *high-fives*
I had never felt so betrayed sjkdnfkjsdnfjksdn
41: what's the last book you remember really, really loving? Carry On by Rainbow Rowell or the entire Adventurer’s Wanted series by Mark Forman. Those are my favorite books and yes Carry On is the Snowbaz ship because you can never go wrong with a gay vampire.
51: think of a person. what song do you associate with them? Welp, I’m gonna go with my ex best friend because every song I listen to makes me think about them.
Won’t Even Start by David Choi.
72: are you a person who needs to note everything down or else you'll forget it? Yes. My memory is horrible. Do I write things down? No. Because my memory is horrible.
74: describe a good friend of yours without using their name or gendered pronouns. Okay! They’re amazing. We’ve known each other for who knows how long and we just vibe so well. We haven’t seen each other in years because stupid military but ugh I would go to the ends of the earth for and/or with them. We’ve already agreed that if one of us dies, the other is going to die soon. We’re gonna have a joint funeral and be buried holding hands uwu. I could go on and on and on about them but aaaaa so much of it is personal lmaoo
99: list some songs that resonate to your soul whenever you hear them. Let’s See What the Night Can Do by Jason Mraz.
Nintendo by Todd Carey.
I’ll Be Good by Jaymes Young.
Must Have Been the Wind by Alec Benjamin.
My Addiction by Adam French.
Fall For You by Secondhand Serenade.
You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift (I know, ew, but there’s a story).
Love Someone by Lukas Graham.
Heartstrings by Jacob Lee.
Thanks Mochi uwu <3

Hello Kati. This is Fairy Godmother. I am gathering information on behalf of King Ben to all Heroes, Villains, and their Descendants; asking them what they think of Auradon University. Could I please ask you for your opinion on our establishment, so that I may take notes on how we can better improve it? Thank you.
keep in mind that my opinion is simply that…my opinion ! everything i say is meant to be constructive and helpful and if you have any questions about anything, feel free to follow up !
first impressions. it’s a lot. as in there’s a lot going on on the page and it’s a bit overwhelming. there’s a lot of fonts, a lot of icons, and my eyes just don’t really know where to go. plus, seeing a female ban as one of the first posts is gonna make me skkkrrrrt away from a group so fast no matter what gender i wanna play. i’m a firm believer that no plot is every weakened or made less fun by more female characters. this especially makes little sense when people are applying for pre-created skeletons and canon characters? like you can’t have more than 8 females anyway because that’s all that is available? i’m so lost and that’s such a turn off.
plot. i gotta admit, i am not at all familiar with any of the descendents movies, so maybe that’s why the plot was a bit lost on me, but i like the idea of all the traditional “heroes” turning into “villains.” i’m not sure whether an app is the perfect vehicle unless you have a way to tie the app back into the plot again. i also think the plot is a bit long-winded and presents the info very quickly – maybe you could start the plot with a story that shows rather than tells? like the story of a “hero” student using the app and it changing their perspective? i think that would add a lot to it if we could read the plot as more of a narrative. i am a bit confused about the 18+ aspect considering that the movies are made for kids and there’s no big red flags in your plot.
characters (if applicable). your character page is impossible to scroll for me! so i can only see the skeletons at the top. i like the more info pages, but it’s also impossible for me to scroll on those for all the facts. it would also be nice to know if characters were originally heroes or villains, if they’re turned into villains, etc, right on their skeleton. i also think faces like janel parish, grant gustin, robbie amell, and kat graham are a bit too old to be playing 20-year olds. i love the diversity you have available, but it’s disappointing to see that you have way less options for nonbinary muses, especially since you’re advocating for more gender diversity on the main.
graphics and theme. as i mentioned, it’s a lot. a theme with two sidebars can feel squished and there’s over six different fonts on the main page alone (and then even more font variety when you click around). i can tell you have graphics proficiency for sure, there’s a lot you’ve done to make the page look nice, but at a point it’s almost overkill. the bright white text is a bit straining on the eyes to read. also your tagline “evil has arrived” on one graphic and “and king ben can do nothing about it” on the other, but people read from left to right so i read the second part first. some of my favorite “main” themes can be found here, but i think your aesthetic might work well with one of jcnnie’s themes. they have great skeleton pages too.
other stuff.
ok my opinion on the female ban doesn’t need to be reiterated but god, it’s such a pet peeve of mine
it was weird to see this rule: “Muses can be no more than 5 years younger/older than their face claim.” when many of your suggested fcs break this rule.
i understand that any muse can be “nonbinary” – but if so, why not make NONE of the genders set so people can decide, rather than having people apply for a cis muse and change them to nonbinary? this is just weird to me.
this app is...wicked long and intimidating, no pun intended! i think you might have an easier time if the app was a little less intense?
if i can help with any of these things i mentioned or something else, just let me know !

WEBCOMICS
I think I broke my links page with too many links, so it’s about time I made a rec post for some of my favorite webcomics! MAYBE YOU’LL FIND SOMETHING NEW TO LOVE.
Tumblr media
This will always and forever be an incomplete list as I am always finding/looking for more stuff to read. I’ll probably reblog it every so often when I add more.
COMPLETE: Lady of the Shard by Gigi D.G. - I still haven’t gotten to Cucumber Quest but you had better believe I read this the day it came out. Follows a temple acolyte who is in love with the goddess she serves, and all the complicated turns of events that come out of this. Drawn in a loose, experimental pixel art style that makes it all the more immersive to read. The Less than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal by E.K. Weaver - Eisner-nominated gay roadtrip romance you’ve probably already heard of. Some of the best character acting I’ve ever seen. The Muse Mentor by Amy King - Artistic muses (and one vague notion) try to find their purpose on the astral plane, which happens to look sort of like a cute fantasy version of San Francisco. A sincere and kind-spirited read, highly recommended if you struggle with feeling adrift and inadequate. Also, many drawings of delicious-looking food. Power Ballad by Molly Brooks - I just started this but it’s really fun and funny. A masked vigilante/pop star’s personal assistant develops a crush on her boss. It’s gay, it’s got superheroes, and it’s complete! IN PROGRESS: Agents of the Realm by Mildred Louis - I had a couple false starts getting into this one, not having grown up on Sailor Moon, but then I picked up the first volume at a con and I’m really enjoying it. The unclear, complicated intentions of the mentor figure(s) are intriguing, and I love how the artist draws faces, especially funny reaction faces. Alice and the Nightmare by Misha Krivanek - A magical uni/boarding school piece with super cute art, compelling mysteries, and a Lewis-Carroll-inspired world that’s fresh and fun I.E. not another Hot Topic rehash. FINALLY. Away to Nowhere by Ezra Shape - Monsters and magical beings adapting to life in our world (or a world like ours)--currently just scratching the surface of what seems like some really cool worldbuilding. Features Zio, my nonbinary dragon grandma. Balderdash by Victoria Grace Elliott - Cute coming-of-age witch adventures. Beautiful colors and a richly-textured world. FOOD. So much good food. Banquet by A. Szabla - [coming soon]
Beauty by Eric J. Lee and Rhiannon Rasmussen - From the about page: “Bugpunk Beauty and the Beast” and honestly WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW. Okay I’ll tell you some more: There’s a baroque alien bug civilization rendered in incredible detail. It’s gorgeous.  Blackwater by Jeanette A. and Ren Graham - Episodic supernatural comic set in the small fictional town of Blackwater, Maine. Just started, but the art is extremely polished, expressive, and atmospheric, and the characters are cute. Also it’s queer and full of monsters. Sold.
Brainchild by Suzanne Geary - Paranormal mysteries on a college campus with supremely cool monster designs and great art. The monsters: So cool. I also really like the attention to fashion details on the characters--you can tell a lot about each of them by how they present themselves. Demon Street by Aliza Layne - All-ages fantasy adventure starring queer kids with magic powers! Great use of vivid, saturated color to set otherworldly scenes. Excellent queerification of folkloric tropes.
False Edge by M. R. Shaw - Just started, but a long-awaited comics debut with fantastic art. Features adorable big-cat shapeshifters. Warning, it’s supposed to get nasty (there’s an advisory page with specifics when you start). Feast for a King by Kosmicdream - I just started this (”just started” = 300+ pages in) but HOLY CROW it’s one of the most bizarrely creative comics I’ve seen. Warning for like, unrelenting gore/body horror (and eventually monster sex I think?) Gotta admire the scope of this one. Galanthus by Ashanti Fortson - [coming soon] Goodbye to Halos by Valerie Halla - Fantasy/action-adventure with an all queer-and-trans cast! Huge-scale, trans-dimensional cosmic plot stuff. The art is supremely cute and the color design is fantastic. Harlowe Vanished by Amy King - A lonely teenage girl accidentally finds herself in some kind of oceanic fantasy world! Scary military stuff is going down! BEAUTIFUL scenic art and a colorful cast that we’re currently just getting to know. The latest from Amy, who did The Muse Mentor, rec’d above. Heirs of the Veil by Phineas Kaldinski and Jassy Klier - Urban fantasy with lots of cool magic, a queer cast, and amazingly detailed environments that feel lived-in and full of history. Can’t wait to see where it’s going. Hilga from Below by Val Wise - This just started but that means I’m COMPLETELY CAUGHT UP on the  archive and so far I can tell that it has: Excellent colors, a cute dog person, a fallen angel or alien or something, and some really unsettling stuff lurking under the surface. How to be a Werewolf by Shawn Lenore - Another one I just started, but really enjoying it so far. After twenty years of isolated lycanthropy, an urban werewolf is mentored by the first of her kind she’s ever met, amidst a mysterious lurking threat to their kind. Kidd Commander by Aria Bell - This is the most fun I’ve had reading a webcomic in a long time. Kidd Commander is an epic shonen-style adventure with an immensely likable cast. Seriously, I love every last one of the characters, and their perils and triumphs and misunderstandings hit me right in the emotions like a ton of bricks. I’m probably gonna cry at some point in this comic. I KNOW I’m gonna cry at some point in this comic. But it’s also hilarious, with really well-timed comedy beats and expertly deployed reaction faces. The world also feels HUGE and full of interesting lore. This is just one of those ones where you can tell it’s an absolute labor of love and the creator enjoys every minute of making it. I could gush about KC forever. But I won’t. This time. I’M DONE. Kids These Days by Noora Heikkilä - Fresh webcomic from the creator of Judecca and Letters for Lucardo, which, if you’ve read either YOU’RE FREAKING OUT TOO, RIGHT. It’s about a group of young adults in the eighteenth-century-flavored city of Osk, refusing to fit the molds society has created for them. And it’s already great. Killjoys by Woods - Criminal mayhem set in a squishy cartoon circus toyland. Had me at “Fluffy hot-tempered clown bunny with they pronouns, in a suit.” Something about this one speaks directly to my id. Kill Six Billion Demons by Tom Parkinson-Morgan - SPRAWLINGLY EPIC action-adventure in hell with vast-scale environments that will make you fall to your knees weeping. Also, like everyone in it is super hot and also a monster or some kind of divine construct. Violence. Lots of that. Larkspur by Grace Mulcahy - Post-apocalyptic action/crime/comedy piece centering on girl gang rivalries. Everyone is some kind of really cool-looking post-radiation mutant. Lush, vibrant colors set against dark comedy. Warning for some sex trafficking stuff at the start (not explicit) and general CRIME/VIOLENCE. Log Date by H. Kasof - [coming soon]
Monster’s Garden by Ash G. - Urban sci-fantasy about a misunderstood prizefighter (who happens to be a lizard-man) who just wants to be left in peace--but is suddenly faced with the challenge of caring about others and having them care about him. Full of cute and sympathetic characters. Monster Pop! by Maya Kern- Light and fun college dramedy with a cast of colorful monsters (and some humans), including a cyclops, gorgon, and witch. The art is super cute. Queer and trans characters! Never Satisfied by Taylor Robin - A group of flawed, complicated teens compete for a prestigious role that is basically something like State Wizard. The characters are SO GOOD, sympathetic across the board even when they’re being misguided jerks, and the comedy highs and dramatic lows are equally prime. The main character is nonbinary and they are my sweet, emotionally stunted child. Oglaf by Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne - Everyone’s favorite bizarro-comedy-porn medieval fantasy comic. NSFW, as if I had to tell ya. Parhelion by R. Smith - Sci-fi adventure featuring a huge and hugely-gender-various (and queer) cast with a lot of choice trope subversions. The writing is super witty and I find myself laughing out loud a lot. Puu by Ashkay B. Varaham - An own-voices slice-of-life webcomic about gay/trans roommates and the people connected to them, set in India. Look, I am a huge goopy romantic and this comic has EVERYTHING that feeds my soul. The Sea in You by Jessi Sheron - Lonely, environmentally-conscious goth girl with a jerk boyfriend makes the acquaintance of a MUCH BETTER (girl?)friend in the shape of a mermaid. Another one with very cute art and an interesting, creative mermaid design. Everything teen me ever wanted in a comic. Warning for the boyfriend being an emotionally abusive jerk. String Theory by Dirk Grundy- Probably the comic I’ve been reading the longest. Sci-fi/post-apocalyptic/alternate history/crime stuff centering around morally sketchy characters on their path(s) to super villainy. The art is frigging phenomenal and the comic has been going for like, ten years so if you wanna see some art evolution, check it out. Laurence is my fave. Superpose by Kieran and Han - [coming soon] Unconvent by Emil N. Tót - Romantic historical fiction about queer nuns in eighteenth century Brazil! I like how simple and straightforward this comic is. We are promised happy endings. (Update: Unconvent is now on indefinite hiatus but the author has started a new comic, Dead Scholars’ Whispers) That’s it for now! Let me know if I screwed up any of the links or attributions.

Lukas Graham Frontman Talks Politics, Fatherhood, and '7 Years' Worth of Grammy Nominations
Tumblr media
The list of 2017 Grammy Award nominations, revealed in December, was filled with a handful of dominant and expected pop royalty, most of them female and in need of only one name. But then, there was a name that popped up three times among the Beyoncés, Adeles, and Rihannas: Lukas Graham.
That name, as fans well know by now, does not denote a single person, but rather a group of four Danish young men who tickled our ears for most of 2016 with the ubiquitous single “7 Years,” a raw tune with heartfelt lyrics, soaring vocals, and a cultural presence that ultimately scored Grammy nods for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Frontman Lukas Forchhammer not only lends his first and middle names to the band — he also serves as a flesh-and-blood personification of the multifaceted charm its music delivers. He grew up honing wrong-side-of-the-street smarts in a Copenhagen-area collective, while simultaneously developing his ethereal soprano as a classically trained choirboy. As one might expect, he’s an equally flexible conversationalist, tossing well-thought-out opinions on everything from music to politics in quick order.
Yahoo Music sat down with the singer to get his thoughts on this year’s Grammys, the band’s next direction, and his very favorite event of 2016.
youtube
YAHOO MUSIC: You’re up for three Grammys next month. How many musicians from your country have been nominated for Grammys?
LUKAS FORCHHAMMER: Eleven Danes have been nominated, three have won, and the most prominent Grammy was won for best rock ‘n’ roll piece in 1962 — by Danish composer/piano player Bent Fabricius-Bjerre with the melody “Alley Cat.” The funny thing about that story is he didn’t even go to the awards ceremony, because he was up against Elvis Presley and he was expecting not to win! So when he won, he was in Denmark. He jokes about it still, he’s like 92 years old now: “Well, that would have been the highlight of my career, but I missed it!” [laughs]
Hopefully you plan to be there this year!
We definitely going to be there, just to experience an award ceremony — for not one, not two, but three Grammys! We’re very satisfied with just being nominated. It feels very, very heartwarming to be voted by peer-by-peer voting.
Given what an explosive year you’ve had, did those nominations actually come as a surprise?
I was very surprised. But also, two months before our nominations, I became a father. So that’s like the biggest and most crazy thing for me to happen in 2016 — having a little daughter. The Grammy nominations were like icing on the cake. I’m driving through eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania, in the tour bus with my baby girl, and I’m getting the news of being nominated for these Grammys — it was a little too magical of a moment. It was one of those moments: “Something’s gotta go wrong in the next hours, otherwise this is too crazy great.” [laughs]
Plus, the unreality of it all must have been magnified by that fuzzy, sleep-deprived new-parent stage…
You don’t get much sleep, but there’s also so much love, all these love hormones. And all these thoughts about the future and your own childhood. And then suddenly three Grammys on top of that while you’re touring America (laughs), it’s an unfathomable feeling. I didn’t know that you could add on to that wonderful feeling of being a parent.
“7 Years” is a standout song in the Grammy categories it’s nominated in. What do you think is the main element of its extreme and universal appeal?
Speaking in hindsight it’s always easy to figure out what is the good part of a song or why are we listening to it. But it’s also a very dangerous path to go down. I think very simply the song is so different from everything else on the radio that it stands out naturally. But also it talks about a subject that is so close to heart — it talks about family, and dreams, and ambitions as you’re growing older. It made it very understandable to the musical audience. It’s not very pretentious.
It’s also unique in that it really doesn’t have an easy hook. Rather, it has a prolonged buildup, which you don’t find often these days in pop music.
It’s all a hook. If you think further back, to like folk musicians — if you take a Woody Guthrie song, “This Land is My Land,” the way the melody keeps repeating itself…It is basically back to country ballads. It’s what we would call Bise in Danish — a basic folk structure where the retentive melody makes sure you remember what you’re supposed to be singing. I just like different song structures and styles, being a classically trained soprano soloist, growing up with a lot of folk music, rock ‘n’ roll, British invasion bands, rap music. I just find it annoying that people say “Oh, but a song has to sound like this, grow like this.” Why does it have to do that? Why can’t we change the structure because we feel like it?
In one interview earlier last year, you mentioned that you don’t even think “7 Years” is your best song.
I don’t, but then again, it kind of changes which song I’m happiest about performing or singing or just listening to myself. I’m a very prolific writer and I think I have better songs in me to come, definitely. Now that I’ve become a father I’ve got this new dimension to love, life, and my writing.
Do you ever worry, then, that “7 Years” might become the centerpiece of your career, given its tremendous popularity?
I think that if we let ourselves be afraid of a song like that [becoming] the paramount experience of my career, then it will be. If I let it control us, it will be a problem. But instead, I think we’ll just brush it off and keep going.
It may be too soon to ask, but do you have an idea of where you want to go with your next album?
I don’t ever really do that. We’re not the kind of guys who sit down and say “We need six songs that sound like this, and then two in this direction.” [“7 Years”] was just a sneak peek into my life between the ages of 18 and 20, and 30. The next album is going to be my life now as a parent, a touring musician, and a citizen of this world.
I’ll probably be a little more political on the next record, probably talk about some gender politics, role model politics, maybe have a song about how are we communicating with each other. Because, to be honest with you, I find most of our public communication and media communication is so ugly that it really sickens me to my stomach.
Touring America during the period preceding the presidential election must really have sickened you, then, given the extreme vitriol being hurled around.
The political conversation took this turn because the political elites failed to recognize there is a world outside the major cities. And it’s the same in Europe, and Denmark — political and economic elites keep forgetting at the end of the day a democracy is a lot of things. And you need to take into consideration what goes on in rural parts of America and Europe. Small hillbilly towns also need to be heard. It happened too much in American and European history that we dismissed the poor white population as being stupid and ignorant. But the fact is that they are very much there, and they’re a huge part of political life.
You have seen a lot of this first-hand growing up and getting into your share of what some would term juvenile delinquent acts, yes?
I have indeed seen a lot of it first-hand and participated in a lot of juvenile delinquency first-hand. And I would have to say that juvenile delinquency comes from a society and culture that is not valuing what these young people have to offer. I mean, if you look at all our celebrities, they’re supposed to look young and act young and be young, but we’re not letting our young people be young. Kids aren’t allowed to be kids, but everyone’s getting Botox and fake tits.
It’s interesting, because it seems the natural musical outlet for a rebellious childhood would be a genre like punk, or gangsta rap — something with anger. Lukas Graham isn’t anything like that.
I spent so much of my life being angry, being afraid, and feeling downtrodden and sorry for myself. Be it the way that the police treated me as a teenager, or the way schoolteachers treated me in primary school and high school, or be it the way other kids’ parents looked at us. Because of the way we spoke, everyone knew where we were from, and we just weren’t welcomed everywhere like most normal kids were. When you grow up like that, at some point you become either permanently angry, festering, or you switch it up and do something about it.

Speaking of switching it up: A totally different topic. How are you managing to balance fatherhood and a musical career? It must be difficult.
No not at all, I find it very easy to balance work and my child. But then again, I’m from Denmark — my girlfriend went on maternity leave for a full year from her college. She’s basically getting a state-funded scholarship, which everyone in Denmark gets for a certain amount of time when you study. So for a full year she’s getting $600-800 a month while she’s taking care of the baby and on tour with me. The system that we grew up in Denmark facilitates parenthood and bonding with your child. Fathers in Denmark can choose to do paternity leave up to eight months. So my country is definitely making it a lot easier to be a new father.
That’s wonderful, but, still — a career in entertainment has logistics that are just naturally challenging to blend with parenting.
I grew up in a world where I saw everybody making hindrances for themselves. Everything becomes more and more problematic: “Oh, we can’t do this because of that…oh, this is going to be difficult.” Or else you just do it and make it work. Make that decision to make your life easier rather than more difficult. Make that decision to facilitate things rather than not.
And, it’s my girlfriend who makes sure that I can do this. If she wasn’t in on it—if she wasn’t prepared to facilitate me being a father, it would be very difficult and I wouldn’t see my child for three weeks at a time. So I’m very grateful that she wants to go on tour with me, and live this lifestyle for a while. Ask me again in a year when she’s back studying her masters, and I can’t just bring the baby on tour.
“7 Years,” as well as the rest of your album, was largely inspired by the death of your father. What do you think he would have thought of these songs if he had been able to hear them?
I think he would have liked them; that I took a turn and started writing more personal lyrics. Real songs about real life. I think he’d be very proud of what we achieved. But it’s a Catch-22 question, you know, because if my father hadn’t died when he died, I wouldn’t have written the songs that made me travel all around the world. We can’t get everything. And it’s OK. [There’s] a lovely Japanese proverb written as a haiku: “You can’t catch all the falling leaves in the autumn.”
Back to the Grammys. Is there any one of your three nominations that you would most particularly like to win?
Song of the Year definitely would mean more — I mean, I don’t even dare to hope for one — but Song of the Year because it is in celebration of the writing process and the creative process leading up to the song being released. I like to be acknowledged for the fact that I write my own music, and that I have a hand in the creative process. But any of the three, I mean c’mon! It’s winning a Grammy!
What if you win all three?
If we get all three, I’ll shave my head. On the Grammy podium (laughs)

It's a Celebration...
Porter:
I woke up from the best sleep in a while and snuggled my comfy pillow to realize that it was Aubrey… my head popped up arm and leg thrown around him and he was sleeping so peacefully. This feels extremely too right. I had to pee so I started trying to figure out a way to get from under him without waking him. I gently took his arm that was protectively around my waist and pulled it off before moving a little too quick and instantly becoming nauseous. I rushed to the bathroom in time to throw up in the toilet before using the potty. I washed my hands and brushed my teeth. I was staring at my body, not even noticing that Aubs was in the doorway watching me.
“You’re gorgeous Porter!” I blushed a little and looked down.
He walked further into my bathroom putting his hands on either side of the sink and pressing against me. Looking at me through the mirror.
“I love every little thing about you, and I’m really loving every subtle change baby Graham is making to this already bomb ass body you got baby girl!” He kissed my neck before trying to bite it, and I giggled.
“Thanks for coming last night.” I said through giggles.
“I may not technically be your man right now… but just like my heart belongs to you, you gotta trust me to always protect and take care of yours too!” He said placing one hand on my tender chest and the other on my stomach before turning me around to face him.
God this man is so perfect for me…
“You sleep with her?” I asked quietly.
“No” was his short response.
“Do you want to?” Came out next.
“P we’re not together, you chose this and I respect it. So honestly what I do or don’t do with another woman should ’t be an issue.” He’s right but it doesn’t stop me from wanting to know.
I was at a loss for words so I did what I can’t seem to control lately and started to cry.
“Porter no…” he begged wiping tears.
“I’m sorry I can’t control it half the time! It's really not you I swear.” I said through tears.
“Baby look at me.” He said pulling my chin up to look at him.
“What?” I asked sniffling.
“Get your shit together woman!!! Naw I’m playing. She’s not you. She might fill a void sometimes when I just want a woman around but the only woman I want to be up under and inside of is you. The only woman that makes me crazy is you. The only woman I want to give me a basketball team worth of babies is you. The only woman I will let break up with me for some odd shit and disappear for three damn months in another part of the world is you. And the absolute only woman I will cry like a little bitch over is you! I ain’t had sex in a long time baby!” He finished as I stared up at him, hands on his waist loving the feel of his warm skin.
“Good to know!” I leaned up on tiptoe and pecked his lips before kissing down his body and sucking on my favorite thing to tell my man thank you for the wait…
1 month and 2 weeks Later…
I’m putting the last touches on this get together. I am now actually sixteen weeks pregnant, and we know the sex of the baby or should I say Celeste does but we have two names either way. It’s been a little hard keeping the pregnancy from everyone this long, but with the right clothes you can conceal the pudge. The Studio and shop has been open for a month and is doing really well. Aubrey is amazing which is no surprise. There have been nights when I would just pop up at his house and he would rub my belly, or my feet, or his favorite my breasts. He constantly tells me how beautiful I am. He’ll come over and cook… that’s right he will kick my mom out the kitchen and cook for us as well as clean up after. He reads and attempts to sing to the baby, and his favorite thing to do is take a nap on my belly. He says it’s unfair that I get all the natural bonding time, and that I need to share the belly! Celeste had me in my office under threat as she and Drew along with Mark and Noah did whatever my mom said as they transformed my gallery and show room into a dinner/gender reveal. My mentor, who is another photographer took some maternity pictures for us to go along with my reveal. I invited her and her family to come as well tonight. I think that all in all it will be a good twenty people here. Aubrey’s dad is flying into town for it. But no one knows what it’s really for we told them that it was a celebration for the success of my business in such a short time. I went through a few shoots and sent them to their respective destinations, before responding to emails before Aubrey called.
On Phone: Me: Hey Aubs what’s up!? Aub: I was just thinking about you and my baby, y'all good?
I smiled, he does this a lot.
Me: yes daddy we are fine, uncle Mark and Goddad Noah, and Aunty Celeste won’t let mommy do anything. Aub: Baby Graham tell mom dukes to sit at her desk and look pretty cause Glam Ma Pier can handle the squad.
I giggled at his silliness as I had put the phone on speaker and near my belly.
Me: ok daddy we get it! Aub: I love you my little person and you too babygirl! Me: we love you too Aubs!
End Convo…
I shook my head laughing to look up and see Celeste and my mother in the door.
“Stop playing and make that man your husband child!” My mother said eyeing me as Celeste snickered.
“Girl because what we just witnessed was oh my goodness cute!” Celeste said causing me to laugh.
“What do y'all need?” I asked.
“To get you changed into your first outfit, it’s almost time.” I nodded getting up and rubbing my belly.
“It’s time for the world to know about you baby!” I said to my little angel. Tonight everyone would find out that we’re expecting, what he or she is, and the name!
I got dressed which took a little and sat while I got my hair and make up done. Tonight should be perfect.
Aubrey:
I drove to the Pier after picking up my mother. Jaya has been blowing me up all night wanting to hang out. But I told her I have something very important and special to me happening tonight and we can chill another time. She’s in her feelings. But she’s not my woman just my friend who I know wants more, but I’m past the days of multiple women. I like Jaya as a friend she’s beautiful and Amazing. But my heart will always belong to the mother of my child.
“I think it’s so nice that Porter invited me!” My mother spoke as we neared The Pier.
“She loves you Mom, just because we’re not together right now doesn’t affect her admiration for the phenomenal woman that created me!” I spoke and was rewarded with a smile.
We pulled up and I helped my mother out and inside once I parked in the back parking lot. We entered and were handed glasses of wine. Porter’s glasses were filled with apple juice which she has had very strong cravings of. The guest list tonight consisted of my guys and their girls. My parents, P’s mom and Grams, E and Ant, Remy, Steez and Bam, Julian and Celeste who have been together for a month, Court and her new guyfriend, and Ants parents along with Porters mentor and her family. My uncle, and Sarah Beth. We walked over to P who was talking to E and Jess.
“Hello Porter thanks for inviting me, and congratulations you deserve so much success!” My mother spoke and Porter smiled hugging and thanking her.
She looked at me trying to figure out what I was gonna do. I pulled her into a bear hug and pecked her lips. I was nibbling on them which caused her to laugh and push me away.
“Best behavior sir!” I mock saluted and walked with my mother to seat her at the table.
We all sat and Porter stood in her flowy black dress that did a good job of concealing the belly, but my girls would not be concealed… I love messaging the titties.
“Thank you all for coming, the success of The Pier is still so surreal to me. When I came here I didn’t know what I wanted to do, and now I can’t imagine doing anything else surrounded by any other people. You all are the best support system a girl can have!” Everyone said cheers and we dug in.
The food was delicious and we talked and joked. The women commented on Porters happy glow they called it. We finished dinner and Porter stood again.
“I have set up a special presentation of pictures in my Gallery for you all to view. The rules are that you must look at each picture in order until you get to the very end.” Everyone obliged as they began to walk through the gallery. It’s a square room with pictures set up and there is electronics for curation. Porter and I could be heard telling the story of our relationship up to the baby. We stood back watching everyone as they looked at the pictures and listened before getting to the very last one and realizing what they were really here for. Her mother still cried even though she already knew. Her Grams and my mother hugged crying as well. We got a lot off congratulations when people finished and Steez put me in a headlock!
“Ok everyone! Hello if you don’t know me I am Celeste the beautiful and talented Porter Piers assistant! She and Aubrey trusted me with the sex of their baby. So you two have to stay facing that way. I will display the sonogram on the screen so everyone else can see, Aubrey will be popping this bottle which will spew out the color of the sex… that is why there is tarp down!”
We all nodded and I’m excited. Celeste handed me the bottle and I heard cheers as the picture displayed behind us and people celebrated. Porter squeezed my arm as I popped the bottle and blue spewed out. Porter was in tears as I picked her up squeezing her to me. She had snuck off and changed so that her bump was now visible. I kissed her neck putting her down and wiping her tears.
“You’re giving me a son!” I said feeling on a high!
“What’s his name?” Erin asked excitedly.
Porter and I looked at each other before she started.
“Emilio for my dad!” She teared up along with her mother and Grams.
“Steven for my favorite uncle!” My uncle and mother hugged.
“Graham!!” We finished together. Rewarded with a collective aww.
“There is one last thing!” Porter stated as I wiped her eyes. Drew came with a pillow that had gold engraved keys on top. She gave one to Noah, Steez, Bam, Erin, Julian, and Celeste.
On each key it read, you are an essential key to the success of my parents, will you be my godmother/godfather!
They all read it and smiled with varying reactions as they came to hug us and say yes. The rest of the night we talked and danced, and celebrated the birth of Baby Graham. And later P came to my crib and we snuggled up in bed as I read a bedtime story to my son and ate his mom to sleep. Champagnepapi: Baby Graham on the way! I hope he looks just like mom dukes with finess like his dad 👀💙👶🏽...
Again unedited sorry but I hope y'all like it 😁 leave me love!!❤️️
