love the drawings you've been making for desmond and alex, what's ghosts in the machine? first i see them crawling out of your screen and now everyone's angels devils or monsters, i don't know if i'm missing something!

ah man, think it's time to try to summarize everything and apologize LMAO;; ty for asking though, i should've made things less confusing! this will be a Pretty lengthy post for irl context/backstory and "actual au" info so be ready if you want to read everything!

(for starters, the title's just a pun on the philosophical phrase "ghost in the machine" interpreted Literally and taking inspiration from clay in ac revelations, since he Was a ghost in a machine and jokingly called "my guardian angel" by des, haha)

the short version: basically, "ghosts in the machine" is what i've called the au(?) where i just doodle silly "artist talking to her art muse(s)" stuff like these kinds of comics instead w me,, the ""art muse"" is whatever i'm hyperfixated on (currently desmond, the assassin brotherhood as a whole, and alex/prototype lmao):

the Full LONG version: when replaying prototype and ac awhile back, i also posted fanart on LOFTER (china’s local version of tumblr) and made a mainlander mutual/friend who drew fanart too, like her oc w the assassins in an animal shapeshifter 刺客信条乙女向 (assassin’s creed otome) au! as i’m vietnamese-american and she’s chinese, we use translators and send pictures/doodles to talk about the games and our days, and when i was replaying prototype, she started ac2 too and sent me this as commentary:

from there, whenever we’d text or send pics/art, it became a running joke of sorts to also include our ""game companions"" like that fanfiction thing of “author’s note where the author and fictional characters comment on the situation and/or talk to each other”, and my doodles also became us or our computers being accompanied by them LMAO;; that’s pretty much the origin and setting of the particular doodles; just the daily shenanigans and art struggles of an artist (me and her) talking to their art muses (characters from special interests) haunting them and their computers

as for the "supernatural" aspects, at some point desmond and alex got drawn an as angel and devil because i’ve had ridiculous “protected by a guardian angel” luck lately like surviving a car crash unharmed, they’re my favorites and associated with me, the motifs match the duo, etc, it's not really that deep and/or for a "Lore Reason";;

likewise, the brotherhood got drawn as ghosts to emphasize the “we/our computers are haunted by them” joke more, along with how my friend and i are both asian and used to like ghosts and ancestral worship casually being a part of our lives already LMAO (ig in the context of the au then, they’re basically desmond’s ancestral spirits disney-mulan-style that freeload off of his vietnamese protectee (me) for both spiritual veneration or "worship" like staying relevant in this modern age via fanart)

for example, i'm also considering drawing like altair, ezio, connor, and edward as the vietnamese four holy beasts just to play around, things like that! there's no special lore reason aside from just personal thoughts and "oh that'd be fun to draw", they just thematically fit well being four prominent “legends” and being desmond's ancestors, etc,, haha

at the end of the day, "ghosts in the machine" are just silly shenanigans of me drawing what's on my mind, from who/what i'm hyperfixated on (aka impromptu art muses for me), any thoughts/frustrations i have w daily life or drawing stuff,, and "hm this sounds cool, i could draw this design or Cool Thing" stuff. it's not really an au persay (plus i still really cringe and feel self-consciously wary about the embarrassing self-insert aspect of all this, help lmao), it’s just,, just silly personal scribblings that are kind of sharing an inside joke to everyone now, but i'm happy to know people still humor these silly drawings and are curious if there's more to it, thank you!

I ship you with Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. You have been friends with the boys since you started Hogwarts. You really enjoy hanging out with them, and they equally enjoy your company, especially because they find you absolutely hilarious, yet also very small? Sirius used to say you were like an evil squirrel, too cute to pose a threat, but with claws sharp enough to blind someone.

"Hey Moons," you said one day while chilling with him, both of you engrossed in reading your respective books, both of your feet rested on the boy's lap. Sirius lounged nearby, lost in his music.

"Yes, dove?"

"What do you think about poly relationships?"

"Poly… what?!" Remus asked, confused, peering up from his book.

Sirius laughed from the side, “Means you’re dating more than one person at the same time. Of course everyone is aware of it,” he explained. "Why the sudden interest, Fluffs?"

Sirius had playfully given you the nickname shortly after likening you to a squirrel. Originally it had been "Flufftail," but he thought it sounded to much like Wormtail and he didn’t want to aoscieate you with him, so he switched it to Fluffs.

"Oh, it's just this book," you said, indicating the one you held, "It's about a poly relationship. Seemed like an intriguing conversation starter."

"Well, I'd give it a shot," Sirius chimed in.

"Shocking!" you teased.

"Only with the right people, though."

"I've seen you hook up with plenty of girls, what do you mean 'the right people'?"

"Hooking up isn't the same as having a relationship, Fluffs. You'd know if you tried," he said, smirking and gesturing for you to come closer with a suggestive smile. Instead, you threw a pillow at his face.

"I guess I’d have to test it to give my opinion," Remus replied with a nonchalant shrug, returning to his book.

"I guess it's the same for me," you mused.

Suddenly, Sirius had an idea, a metaphorical lightbulb illuminating his brain. "Let's do it!"

"Do what?" you asked, perplexed.

"Let's test it, the three of us."

"Like a throuple?" you questioned with a slight frown.

"Exactly, a throuple!" he affirmed. "We'd be exclusive with each other and see how it goes."

"For how long?" you inquired, setting aside your book.

"Three months."

"You won't last three months without hooking up with someone."

"What do you mean without hooking up? I'd have both Remus and you! I could kiss your pretty faces whenever I want. Sounds perfect to me."

"Now you're just trying to charm me into it."

"And is it working?"

"A little," you admitted, smiling. "What about you, Remus?"

"Count me in," the boy responded, a playful smirk gracing his lips.

Long story short, those three moths extended into six, and those 6 into a year, and eventually you all decided that you'd just stay together, you just didn't want to go back to how things were before. Becasue this, this was perfect.

You don’t have to be an rp blog for me to rp with you. One of my partners is just a normal fandom blog. Writing is writing C:

I don’t do exclusives. For me I find it takes a lot of the opportunities away to get to know more cool people. If you want to make me an exclusive for something…go right ahead, but I won’t do the same. You’ll simply stay my partner. I want to be able to interact with everyone. That being said, I do mains! That doesn’t really mean anything other than your blog would be the first I tag if I see something that reminds me of our muses, that sorta thing.

If I hear wind that you’re harassing any of my friends you’re done. And if you’re harassing me in any way. I do not put up with bad treatment of my friends or me. You don’t want a block from me. Jordan doesn’t block ANYBODY.

I’m of age so I do smut but nothing too-too graphic. It will be tagged of course.

My threads are for my PARTNER only. Or partners if it’s a threeway. Please do not reblog them. You can like em, you can use the little reply button to say something–if you really want to talk about something that’s happening in them shoot me a message-but do not reblog unless you are said partner. For the love of God, don’t hound me. I’m aware I can take a while to reply, but I have a lot of threads usually at the same time and some I have more muse for than others. Please don’t link me to our thread, please don’t say “it’s your turn” or some sort of variation of passive aggressive harassment. You aren’t going to make me respond faster. You are just going to spark my anxiety and make me resent our rp. If it’s been four days feel free to message me–not four hours.

Unless you’re a canon character my muse needs to get to know you a bit. C: So it’s unlikely you can just pop up to one of my muses, never having met, like ‘hi, how you been?’ and not have them be like “who da fuck are you"

Shipping

Shipping will mainly be thread-dependent. If you feel like our muses may mesh, go for it!

I will not tolerate hate for what I ship. I don’t need to be told I’m shipping something unhealthy because chances are I’ll state it’s unhealthy and I by no means condone dating a psychopath in real life. Hate will be deleted and blocked.

When it comes to OC ships and any ship really, ship needs chemistry. Do not force a ship onto my muses. They need to get to know each other, and this mainly applies to OC ships–not so much the pr-established characters in the show. If I already ship it, I’m down to jumping straight into a shipping thread.

Crossovers

I am mildly less selective with crossovers since this show is literally…all about crossing over into other media. I’m still selective but not as much. For my own comfort I won’t be rping with characters from the Sonic franchise.

Triggers and Tagging

I know very little about triggers myself and what people consider a trigger. IF you want something tagged you’ll have to ask. I’ll be clueless otherwise, but I will tag all ships. And the basic gore and blood and such. Be aware of the fact I have bad memory problems. If I forget to tag something you asked me to tag I’m sorry, it wasn’t on purpose.

This is an insanely dark show and there will be a lot of blood and gore and horror. There will be torture and killing talk, but it will still be tagged.

Mun Notes

I have serious memory problems. Like, really bad due to a combo of illnesses. Cut me some slack, I’m going to forget rules and probably certain triggers if I’m not used to tagging them. You have no ida how many friggin rule pages I’ve read on this blog. I’ll do my best but I’m going to forget, and probably more than once. It’s not my fault, I’m trying my hardest.

I do not do passcodes. For some reason they make me…severely anxious and I don’t know why. If we rp, I’ve read your rules, rest assured. If you really really depend on a passcode…well, we probably won’t be rping then. ;-; sorry.

I’m a physically disabled person who’s online rather…all the time because I can’t work really. So rp is like all I got going on right now as I work on my animation portfolio at home.

I’m a very sweet twenty two four old that loves to talk to people. Talk to me any time about my muse, about anything! Feel free to approach me just to talk in general. I really love people! We don’t have to rp to be friends.

Steve had a lot of time to mull over his mistakes while he was with the Time Variance Authority. In hindsight, time travel was a mistake. His motivation was clear, but the attempt, he realized, was misguided. He couldn’t knowingly let Bucky be captured by Hydra, or leave Natasha at the nonexistent mercy of The Red Room, or let Thanos snap away half a universe if there was even half a chance he could stop those things from ever happening. Even knowing they were long shots didn’t change his mind. Steve had never been intimidated by long odds.

But as it turned out, the Time Variance Authority didn’t just let people meddle in timelines. It didn’t matter how good his intentions had been when he went back. The Avengers, apparently, were on thin ice with them already. It was always Steve's plan to return to his own time when he was finished. He had people who needed him there, and from what he understood, changing the past created new timelines rather than changing the future. (To be fair, he'd only understood a fraction of Scott, Bruce, and Tony's conversation on it. The mechanics of time travel were well above his paygrade.)

It had taken time to learn the place and its routines, time to figure out a plan. Steve always had a plan, and it didn’t involve sitting in jail for the rest of his life, being retconned from his own timeline, or playing along indefinitely with what was obviously a fascist organization. He'd gone along with Morbius's requests at first to buy himself some time to figure this place out, and every variant's life they destroyed added to the seething anger in him. He didn't know what the ultimate end goal of the place was, or why they considered it a sacred duty to protect the timeline, but Steve did know that people in power almost always thought they were doing good and that they rarely wanted to give it up.

The plan did, unfortunately, involve a time and space jumping god of mischief who also needed to escape. Long story short, Steve hadn't been sorry to help Loki tear the place down, and now he may or may not owe a favor to the trickster Asgardian. As far as he could tell, Steve landed in the same place as when he’d left, but it was immediately obvious that it wasn’t the same time. Nobody was there, for one thing, and the season had changed. He lowered his head and, quietly but with feeling, uttered a word he almost never said.

How much time had passed? If he was lucky, it was the same number of days that had passed while he was with the TVA, which would put him at around four months. He tried not to wince at the idea of leaving Bucky and the others wondering where he was in all that time and why he hadn’t returned. He hated to think what that had done to his friends on the heels of the Battle of Earth and its losses. He didn’t know yet that the TVA had strategies in place to keep anyone from even looking for him. Steve kept his head down on the walk home and tried not to draw attention to himself. He didn’t have keys or a wallet or a phone or even shoes, for that matter, so his apartment was his best idea. If it was even still his apartment.

The door was locked, the spare key not in its usual place, so after a quick, silent apology, he broke the lock and stepped inside with the hope that he wasn’t breaking into someone else’s home. It was a relief to see it was mostly as he’d left it, though it was clear someone had been there. He wondered if that person was Bucky. What he wanted more than anything right now was to talk to his best friend, to hear his voice and know he was fine. He briefly scoured the place for his phone and came up empty. He hadn’t had it on him when he went to return the stones, and it wasn’t where he’d left it. He dug out one of the burners from the emergency stuff and plugged it in to charge. Two years of being on the run and being friends with Natasha had left him slightly paranoid but prepared. He could disappear again if he had to, but with as hard as he’d worked to get back here, he hoped he didn’t have to.

Weariness insisted he sit down for a few minutes while he came up with a plan, so he grabbed a tablet off the desk and sank onto the couch to scroll through the recent news feed for information about what he’d missed. The date registered, roughly matching with what he’d expected, and sadness mingled with frustration and relief that it hadn’t been longer. He never wanted to be in another spaceship or another timeline, ever. Some lessons came harder to him than others, but he considered that one learned. The hard way, because apparently that was the only way he knew how to do it, but learned. He didn’t mean to fall asleep, and he jerked awake when the tablet pinged an alert to find that night had fallen. His head was clearer though, and he quickly scanned the update before rising to change his clothes. He pulled on a jacket and as an afterthought grabbed a baseball cap. He wasn’t planning to interfere, and he didn’t want to be noticed. Not tonight when all eyes should be on Captain America.

He did want to be there to see it though. He tucked the phone into his pocket and headed further into the city. There were already crowds of people forming along with the general chaos of news vans and police cars, and it was easy to fade in among them, just one in a faceless crowd. He couldn’t help a smile as he watched Sam’s speech from a distance, pride filling him for both his friends. He’d always known Bucky was a hero; now everyone did, and passing the shield along to Sam before he left, at least, had been the right move. He’d never had a doubt about that. He’d find a way to give his congratulations later though. Tonight wasn’t about him, and he wasn’t going to intrude on the victory. If Steve was lucky, it would never be about him again. He drifted to the edge of the crowd, glancing back once more before he turned and headed for home.

But I am giving a heads up I am going to be doing a follower/dash clean up over the next few days because anxiety is getting my ass again and I do feel it’s gotten kind of cluttered and busy on my end. I also want it to be a little more curated to people I do write with often and I’m really hoping it helps stir Jayce awake a bit more,,,

Muse: Ryuko Matoi from Kill la Kill, post-canon AU (other verses available, see below). 25 y.o., traveling Life-Fiber hunter (which gives her reasons to meet all kinds of characters).

Mun: Is very much of age, been roleplaying in various ways for like 15 years and then some.

Godmodding: if you godmod or powerplay me, you give me the right to do it right back. My muse's abilities are powerful and specific enough for that within the basic canon. You've been warned.

Abilities:

Fast regeneration, super-strength and durability, but not infinite, she can die. Life-Fiber absorption (makes her stronger). Can harden her hands into claws, if need be, but it takes some effort. Can potentially drink blood at a crisis dying point, but would rather not to.

Bonus canon abilities are reserved to be used in case of exceptional crisis (see: godmodding/powermodding or pre-planned over-the-top threads).

Important headcanons:

Aroace (there's plenty an explanation on desktop). (This doesn't mean no shipping. Just a certain kind of shipping.)

While traveling crashes at friends' places chaotically when available. Especially likes to enter Satsuki's home through a window, 'cause it's fun to friendly bicker.

Talks to Senketsu out of habit, after one too many Life-Fibers absorbed she can actually hear him talking back.

Got her scissor blades back, since what else do you fight LF with. At some point had to absorb them too, which now lets her harden her hands into claws... but not for long. It's tiring.

Is down for not traveling alone sometimes, as long as you can handle yourself. Or if you are Mako.

WILL freak out if meeting Ragyo, Nui or Junketsu!Ryuko. (Can use this for angst.)

Verses:

Verse 1: Life-Fiber hunter Years after the finale, there's a sudden resurgence of Life-Fibers all over the globe due to power-hungry people going into willing contact with them. As the only creature on Earth still capable of going toe-to-toe with them (and not quite managing the "normal" life anyway), Ryuko steps up. Now travels around searching for the things and fighting them. 25 y.o.

Verse 2: OG anime Ryuko Matoi is a transfer student at Honnouji Academy trying to find out who killed her dad. You know the drill. (Mun can attempt doubling for Senketsu if need be.) 17 y.o.

Verse 2.5: Pre-canon Ryuko Matoi is a punk-ass student who can't make a friend to save her life and fights everyone on account of chronically not fitting in. Walking trouble. 14-16 y.o.

Verse 3: Cyberpunk AU (2077/Edgerunners inspired) Basically the canonical events, but slightly aged up and converted for the setting. A high-class corpo school, a loner nomad with a dead father, a corpo-bitch who experimented on hooking her own children up to Blackwall. Life-Fibers are rogue AIs, goku uniforms are implants, Senketsu is a friendly AI and Ryuko doesn't know that she's a digital construct of a dead teenaged stuffed in a highly chipped body. She's also trying not to think too hard about living at the house of an unethical ripperdoc. 18 y.o.

Okay for a short note. I was planning on getting more drafts done, however I have insanely low energy so this is most likely not happening. (and still owe starters oops.) Anyway on to the main reason of the post:

I am officially adding Vi to my list of muses! She is AU and very possibly canon-divergent from season 1 depending on potential plots. It's not a major thing, but it does change how the story goes for her. With this being said, I am still working out development for her and some things can be subject to change! However, I love the direction I have planned for her so far!

For now Vi will be considered a secondary muse, which means much like Briar and Warwick, that will not be as high of priority in comparison to my main three (JInx, silco, ekko.) If you're okay with that, than feel free to approach me for plotting with her! I will be working on the carrd for her at some point here, as well as dealing with banners. Until then feel free to ask if me about her if you want the things.

That said, this means, that Scar (who i rarely do anything with anyway) is being delegated to asks only or serves as a support for Ekko.

Other changes I'm thinking is making Briar a request only muse, as they come and go activity wise. This will not impact current threads and plotting. I am not fully sure on that yet, though.

Universal AUs/Verses:

Plotted 'bad end friend' type aus, depending on the muse they have ended up in a befiting bad fate villainous/victim role. Pre-existing example is my vr-Bart verse where he still thinks he is in a game and doesn't value life due to that.

Vampire aus, depending on the fandom I might have more fleshed out such as for Horror muses or twists to the formual like dc vs vampires inspired for dc vamp verses.

Ghost aus for my canonly dead muses.

Demon au, one muse is a human/witch or whatever, the other a demon. I will say depending on the muse or fandom things might be different, I'll probably end up with multiple demon aus for different fandoms at least.

Selectively post-Zombie aus, I will default to modern day settings unless told otherwise and I will use a Walking dead setup minus the walker name, zombie media would still have existed. I might be low muse or drop these as zombies are a horror I am sensitive to.

DC verses:

DC vs Vampires setup, someone in the super community has been turned into their own brand of vampire with a lot of the classic powers of a vampire and a curse to bring out the worse in a vampire, now the curse is spreading among the super community and to normal people too.

DCeased setup, a zombie-like virus started when technology was infected with a form of The Anti-Life Equation looking at screens was how the first were infected, both supers and civilians, everything is thrown into chaos and those who survived the very beginning now have to survive super powered zombies.

Horror verses:

Reversed role aus, for dbd I think it's obvious how this would work and for others it can be briefly ploted out.

Vampire au, there is a curse with a hunger for blood, it has infected many killers and former human horrors over the years bestowing them common vampire abilities and something special and horrorfyingly their own as a power. There are also humans this curse hungers far more for the blood of, these survivors and would be victims tend to band together as vampire hunters or as ghouls, aka humans who drink a vampire's blood for some weaker forms of their power.

Livevile, the muses have been kidnapped and put in a realm known as livevile, it appears as a small town with everything one could need and which has other horror characters living there. If someone is killed by another then the night will play out as normal but in the morning the dead will return to life. Now the big question is what made this place and why?

Monster Prom

The worst timeline au, this is during the end credits of the Prank Masterz ending of porm, can be canon complient or divite, also characters interduonced later are welcome on my or others side.

Dragon Age

Blighted au, this takes place in a slimmer timeline to the darkspwan dlc of origins where HOF died during the joining and the Blight got much much worse, possibly spreading to the larger world.

Bad timeline au, taking place in the bad timeline seen during the mage siding quest in dai The Herled went missing right before things started getting bad and the world is thrown into horror.

Borderlands verse

A mushroom, able to smemi control the dead and living and bring them to their feet found the body of Tyreen Calypso, who became it's head as a intelligent zombie, now the fungi is spreading among the galaxy as The Raiders try to fight it.

Payday verse

Zombie au, After the death of Bain and failure to defeat Murkywater the gang disposed of the masks and their identities within the Payday Gang, little did they know the virus that killed Bain would have his body rise to take revenge on the world of the living as he is paitent zero of a zombie virus.

interest check - giant challenge

this is not a starter call. i'm still working hard on putting this giant challenge together (i plan on submitting everything on 7/14 to hopefully have permission to start on 7/21). @ time of publishing this post, the challenge is not fully written let alone submitted or approved yet. so i'm not sure if this will get approved! but this post is assuming best-case scenario; at the very least, it'll give you ideas of what you're getting into.

ideally, the challenge begins on 7/21 and wraps up before or on 7/28; a week's time total.

please note that the nature of this challenge is serious, intense, and grim. if your muse is involved, they WILL be put into a life-threatening situation! that being said, no pressure to join in (seriously!). castmates will be prioritized, but your muse doesn't need to know vash to get picked. regardless, i can't guarantee everyone's going to get a turn at this challenge thread.

⋆ FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT?: I am in all for the angst, only for fluff to happen before the next angst happens. (So 50/50) I love smut too, but please, not forever. Also explicit smut only in Discord. Despite being a NSFW artist I am prude about that.

⋆ PLOTS OR MEMES?: Both works. I am not a micromanager in plotting though, a rough outline and see where it's going is fine. Memes are amazing starters though, or to check out the chemistry between other writers!

⋆ LONG OR SHORT REPLIES?: What is "short" in Tumblr terms? I wonder, one-liners are amazing for comedy situations. I literally had a post where all I wrote was "I chose Halsin." That was the post. We still giggle over it when we read it. I don't mind the length, as long as you write to me something I can react / write back to it I don't mind!!

⋆ TIME TO WRITE?: Spread over the day, I am lucky and have time so when I am not kidnapped by friends to play or draw for my Patreon I usually write in the evening or even midnight though.

⋆ ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)?: I have them since 17 years. So far to say, they influenced me more than I ever did them. However I am far from being like them. And frankly I wouldn't want to be them. They are my babies and I love them a lot. My little chaos gremlins. Wouldn't trade them for the world.
