_________________________________________
“Thank you again, Tarquin, for having us,” you speak graciously to the High Lord of Summer. It isn’t often that you and Azriel get time off, and with the over-thoughtful Illyrian Spymaster, he was cautious of where your family set to vacation, untrusting some of the High Lord’s intentions.
But not at the Summer Court. It has been a home away from home for you and your mate since before your children were even born and Tarquin is like a brother to you. Even all six of your energetic children are welcome, unlike Cassian, though the High Lord says that it’s mostly a joke.
“No need to thank me, (Y/N), you know you both are always welcome in Summer,” the High Lord beams before bringing his golden goblet of wine to his mouth for a sip of the saccharine liquid.
You respond with a tired smile of your own, resting your head on your mate’s shoulder who wraps his arm around you, kissing the crown of your hair sweetly. It’s utter bliss. The babes are all playing in another room, the younger of the brood probably fast asleep by now from the help of Tarquin’s most trusted wraiths, who have been helping corral your children throughout your stay.
You peek up at your shadowsinger but he’s already staring down at you lovingly. With the extra eyes on your children it will be much easier for you and Azriel to get the alone time you so desperately need, and you’re hoping to make it through the night without one of the babes sneaking into your bedroom.
And you can see it in his eyes too, slightly hazy from the few drinks he’d allowed himself, looking at you like you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him, nearly pleading for you to end this conversation with your old friend so that he can take you to bed.
The High Lord catches your gazes and takes the hint, grinning at the two of you with a wicked smile as he leads the way to the suites.
“Don’t you say it,” you warn your friend, pressing close to Azriel's side. You feel amazing, completely at ease as you stroll through the long halls, the ocean’s salty breeze sweeping all around you.
Tarquin doesn’t listen, chuckling, “Trying for baby number seven then?” he teases and your pink cheeks warmed from the wine sting with a blush. A flash of surprise filters through the bond and Azriel hugs you closer, biting back an amused smirk.
“Quiet you,” you groan, playfully shoving at your friend.
He laughs heartily as he catches his footing. “Shoving a High Lord? That’s the kind of thing that could get you banned from the Summer Court.”
Your snarky retort is on the tip of your tongue when a piercing scream has you all freezing in the hall. Azriel’s shadows immediately slither away as he tucks you closer to him, reaching for the hidden knife in his boot. Tarquin listens to the calls of the water for word of what’s going on as you take off towards the sound.
It’s a wraith, shroud with fear and tears in her eyes as she runs, aqua skirts balled in her fists.
“Lady (Y/N),” she sobs and you halt. Dread fills your stomach and the look in her eyes has your knees wobbling. “It’s the babe, Knox. He’s–he’s gone.”
__________
The High Lord receives the call from his brother in the Summer Court and he stills, unease twisting his gut like a whirlpool, shifting uncomfortably in his seat at the head of the table. His mate glances at him, brows furrowed. The dark feeling sends a shiver up his spine and he knows immediately that something is not right.
Calling out to Azriel he goes still at the brother's words, dark matter swirling from his body and throughout the room, casting it into near complete darkness.
Nyx makes a startled noise, the fork loaded with lovely chocolate cake falls to the plate below with a clang. Feyre clutches onto her mate's hand, begging him to let her in, see what’s going on. He shuts his eyes. He doesn’t want his love to hear this, how Knox was taken from his crib in the Summer Court. The dessert he’s been eating threatens to make a reappearance.
He lets her see and her gasp is heartbreaking. Feyre clamps a hand over her heart in shock, staring up at him with wide, sad eyes. She brushes her fingers through her son’s hair, needing the reassurance that he’s there.
Rhys has to go.
He’s already giving orders, squeezing Feyre’s hand because he can’t even manage to do anything else, he feels too sick to.
He calls out to Cassian, and the warlord replies just as quickly. Rhys can hear the utter devastation in his brother’s voice when he responds, the hot fury burning from his words, letting the High Lord know they’ll be ready.
He and Feyre winnow to the House of Wind, Nyx holding tightly to both of their hands. He doesn’t ask what’s happening, why he didn’t get to finish his cake, he knows better than to pry.
Cassian and Nesta had been in the middle of playing a game with their son, but now, a terrified feeling flitting through the air, it had abruptly ended their competitive match.
Nesta stands with the most emotion he’s ever seen, bracing herself against a chair, hand pressed to her mouth as she stares at Cassian, eyes brimmed with tears. The warlord must’ve just finished telling her what happened as he’s adjusting his weapons on his belt with finality, a murderous look in his eyes.
Gideon keeps glancing between his parents and sends a questioning glance toward his cousin when he sees him, wondering what’s going on. Nyx gives a slight shake of his head; confused doesn’t even begin to describe why his parents are acting like this.
Feyre is to take Nesta and Gideon to the River House where the wards are more secure and wait for Rhys to bring the rest of the babes to safety.
Rhys and Cassian winnow to the Summer Court, their hearts breaking at the sight, plunged into the sound of you sobbing, holding onto your mate for dear life.
He’s never seen this look on Azriel’s face before, and if he didn’t know his brother he’d think him a Death God all his own, hazel eyes dialated with murderous inent, standing stock straight, his shadows already sweeping through the castle for any leads.
Rhy’s is terrified to approach, not only because of the shadowsinger, but because of you. A female who’d just had her son taken. You are sure a force to be reckoned with.
“Where are the rest of the babes?” he murmurs softly. He can see the horror in his brother’s eyes, the heartbreak, how small and scared he is behind that deathly look. He has one hand cradled to the back of your head where it’s buried into his chest, the other wrapped around your waist, holding you upright.
“They’re in the other room with Tarquin and his wraiths,” Azriel’s voice is strained. He’s barely holding himself together but he has no leads yet, shadows revealing nothing of who has taken your son. “We need to question them all.”
You don’t even protest. Even though Tarquin is your friend and would never do something like this, if he had any sort of hand in this you need to know and you need to know now.
Cassian’s already moving for the door, set to watch the children while his brothers create a plan of interrogation and attack. They will not be left without watch again.
__________
Rhys helps Azriel winnow you all to the River House where Feyre, Nesta, and their children wait. The females immediately usher you into their arms, tears streaming down their own faces as they whisper soothing words into your hair.
You’re numb. Can’t feel a thing as you let the floodgates open once more. You hadn’t wanted your children seeing you like this but they were smart, noticed that one of their siblings was missing from the room but didn’t know why.
Wren runs to his cousins, completely confused and alarmed, trying to figure out what they know. He doesn’t know where his youngest brother is and no one will tell him a thing no matter how much he pleads.
Baz’s brows are furrowed in anger. He wants his brother and he wants to see him now. He doesn’t understand why his uncle Cassian isn’t letting him though, and the little boy is beside himself with anger, knowing that something isn’t quite right.
He’s tempted to run over to his older brother, beg him to tell him what’s going on. Surely Wren knows, he is the oldest and knows everything. But Baz waits patiently, arms crossed tightly over his chest as his little shadows swirl around him, slithering towards his parents to listen in.
Zuzu, ever the stubborn half-Illyrian, keeps insisting that she’s going to go wherever her father and uncles are going. Each time one of them sets her down she runs to another warrior on her little legs, begging to be picked up. When they ultimately do she lets them know that she wants to go with them.
Jax’s face is stoic, wide eyes the only thing giving away that he’s watching intently. He doesn’t know what’s going on, too young to understand. He’s irritated by all of the noise, but he can tell that whatever is happening is not good, and he bursts out in tears once Rhys sets him on the floor.
And Knox’s twin sister, Malos, has not stopped crying since her brother had been taken. They’d never been more than a room apart from each other before, often wailing loudly until they were aware they were in the same vicinity with each other, calming down immediately.
You’re worried she’s going to make herself sick with all of this crying but you can’t even blame her because you had hardly stopped sobbing since you’d found out he was gone.
Overwhelmed, you excuse yourself, slipping out of the chaos and into the nearest room with a lock which just happens to be an extra study.
You brace yourself against the desk, taking a shuddering breath that does little to calm you. Your hands are shaking and your heart feels like it’s been cleaved in two, a piece of you taken with your son.
How could this have happened? How could you have let this happen? Is Knox going to be–
You tense at the feeling that sweeps through the room, dark and heavy. It’s Azriel, emerging from the shadows, not even the locked door keeping him away.
He says nothing as he closes in on you, shuffling you gently into his arms as he rests his head against yours.
There’s nothing to say. Nothing that can fix any of this, make anyone feel better, and while he is going to go off with Rhysand and Cassian to find Knox you are going to be left here with your terrified children asking where their brother is.
“I’m going with,” you say weakly and his grip tightens. You know you’d be of little help, having hardly any training or powers of your own, but he’s your son and you feel the need to aid the search.
“(Y/N), someone needs to stay here with the children,” Azriel begs, cradling your face in his hands. He’s trying to be rational, and you don’t think you’ve ever seen your mate more scared in the long years you’ve been with him. You know that he’s trying to hide how he’s truly feeling but you can feel his hands shaking where they rest against your cheeks and the terrified feeling is burning hot across the bond. It’s mixing with your own sickly fear and it’s consuming.
You can’t stop the tears from falling. Your baby is Mother knows where with Cauldron knows who.
“Then you stay here,” you bellow, shoving weakly at his chest. He doesn’t so much as move an inch and his trembling hands are doing nothing to ground you. All you can do is stare up at him in disbelief.
“Az, he’s–” you can’t even say it, choking on the words in your mouth as you collapse against him again in a fit of rage and sobs. Your youngest son, gone without a fucking trace, from right under your noses.
“I know,” your mate's tone is strained, like it hurts him to speak, trying so desperately to keep it together for his family. He blames himself, should’ve known better than to think he could relax and enjoy time with his brood.
You’re keeping him too long, pressed up against him and clutching his clothes for support. He needs to go and you need to console the children that are downstairs with the rest of the Inner Circle.
“I should go with you,” you clear your throat, pleading once more, trying to stop the hot tears from flowing freely down your cheeks. You know that he’d take you in a heartbeat but it would mean leaving your other five children to be tended by their aunts. It would serve better for at least one of you to stay and show them that everything is going to be alright, even if you’re not sure you believe it right now.
“I’m going to bring our baby home, (Y/N). I promise you that.”
__________
“(Y/N),” a soft voice calls from the entrance of the room and you wipe your tears furiously. It’s Cassian, the warlord on guard while his brothers search for your missing child. He must have heard your sniffling and come to check on you.
How he’d managed to remove himself from the pile of children that had climbed atop the Illyrian and fallen asleep was beyond you. He is a true warrior indeed.
Your eyes hurt from the amount of tears you’ve spilled and you’re burning with the need to sleep but your stomach is in knots and your mind is racing, thinking of what they could be doing to Knox at this very moment.
Your friend catches sight of Feyre, who’d been keeping you company but had given into her own drowsiness, snuggled into the blanket you’d pulled over her hours ago. She’d offered a helping hand herself but Rhysand was more than adamant that she stay here with you, Cassian, and all of the children in case something should happen.
“You should be trying to sleep,” he says softly, his usual mirthy tone raw with emotion, the ache he feels for you and your mate as he lowers himself to the ground beside you in front of the smoldering hearth.
“How can I sleep when a piece of me is missing?” you question. Your voice cracks and your already burning eyes fill with tears once again. You’re surprised you have anything left to shed, you hadn’t even been able to eat or drink anything since he’d been gone, that feeling in your stomach all too much.
He tucks you beneath his large arm, pulling you in close and it helps a little but not enough. Nothing is ever going to be enough. “He’s okay, (Y/N).”
You swallow thickly, peering up at him weakly. “How do you know that?”
“Because he’s your and Azriel’s son.”
You’re quiet for a moment, mulling the warlord’s words over as you stare into the dying flames before you, missing the warmth against your already hot cheeks.
“I just don’t get it,” you hide your face in your hands, “A child, Cassian. A fucking child. And not just any child, sweet little Knox who can’t even speak,” you sob and he holds you closer. He’s not so good with knowing how to comfort a crying female, often unleashing his own emotions through his fists, but he does what he can and you’re thankful.
“And I know Az is killing himself over this and remembering how terrifying it was for him when he was young and even though it was his own brothers these are adults who have taken him. Adults who have been trying to hold something over us for centuries…what do you think they’ll do to him?”
Oh Gods, you’re making yourself sick again, hyperventilating at the thought of any sort of harm coming to your child.
Cassian doesn’t even know what to say or do, how to calm you down because Knox may not be his own child but he sure feels like it with how fiercely you all love each other’s children.
So he doesn’t say anything, he just holds you tight until you give into the sleep trying to pull you under, only to jolt awake when you sense your mate’s presence hours later. You haul yourself off of the couch Cassian had laid you on to meet the spymaster, shadows thick like a cloak covering his hands that he’s wringing together.
The look he gives you has you breaking, a slight shake of his head that has you slapping a hand over your mouth to muffle a cry of pain, knees giving out beneath you.
They hadn’t found him.
He looks horrible, hair sticking up from where he’s been pulling it endlessly, dark circles beneath his dull, golden eyes from days of searching, wings drooped lowly behind him in defeat.
Your little boy must be so scared out there all alone.
“I’m going back out there,” Azriel rasps, a promise in those exhausted eyes. “Just came to switch out Rhys for Cassian.”
You want to offer to help, you’ve been running yourself ragged here, trying to do tasks that will keep your mind from going insane with theories about what is currently happening to your son. But Azriel has the experience, gone for days on end with little to no sleep, he’s used to the kind of stress that comes with a mission. But his heart is involved this time too. He will not stop until Knox is found.
You nod, letting him help you to your feet. You have nothing to say, the thickness in your throat won’t allow it.
You mate kisses your forehead tenderly, gesturing to Cassian that he’s ready to go, taking his brother's arm in his grasp, his shadows sweeping around them thickly, ready to winnow.
A knock on the door sounds.
You look between the High Lord and the rest of your friends, brows furrowed. They’re just as confused as you are, wondering for a moment how someone’s made it onto the property through the wards. It could just be Amren or Mor, and you all follow Rhys as he stalks towards the front room.
Azriel’s breath hitches in his throat as you approach, his shadows already receiving word of who’s on the other side.
“Knox,” he whispers in disbelief at the same time Rhys swings open the door to reveal your little boy cradled in the last person you expected arms.
Baz appears around the corner, woken from a nightmare about his brother going missing. There’s fat tears in his eyes and he’s trying to find you – he loves a good snuggle with his mother, it makes everything better – when he catches sight of his littlest brother.
“Knox,” he calls, startling you all. The boy races through the entry, dodging his aunts and uncles that try to lunge for him with ease. You rush forward as well, straight for the child in the arms of the Autumn Court royal.
Baz reaches him first, colliding with his legs that has the auburn haired male staggering back a step, his grip firm on the babe in his arms. Your son scrambles to try and get a peek of his brother, wholly confused as to why this stranger has him, yelling at the lordling to hand his sibling over.
Eris looks like he’d rather be anywhere else as Cassian steps towards him with a glare, prying young Baz off of him. He’d like to see what the tiny half-Illyrian could do, knows he could land some good hits on the autumn native, but now’s not the time, not as he’s surrendering Knox over to you.
You don’t even care that it’s Eris. He has Knox and he looks as happy as ever, playing with the lordlings long fingers.
“Knox,” you cry, taking him from the Autumn male and hugging him tightly to your chest. Rhys has already called for Madja to check on the child and while you examine him, rubbing your fingers across his chubby cheeks Feyre and Nesta lead you away from Eris.
As soon as he has a clear shot Azriel takes it, shoving the male up against the wall with Truth–Teller pressed up against his neck, hissing down at him.
He ignores Baz’s cheering, muffled quickly by Cassian’s large hand covering the boy’s mouth.
“Eris,” his voice is like midnight, sending shivers up the Autumn male’s spine. He knew it was a risk to bring the babe back like this, how it would look when he showed up with the shadowsingers youngest in his arms, but when his mother had handed him the child and begged him to get him back to safety he couldn’t refuse.
He holds his hands up in surrender and only Rhysands grip on Azriel’s shoulder makes the shadowsinger stop, fully intent on killing the auburn haired male before him.
They let Eris speak, you listening with half an ear while the healer looks over the content babe in your arms. You still can’t believe that he’s here, dread slowly ebbing from you when she deems him unharmed and retreats back to the library.
It had been Beron’s plan, and the lordling didn’t even know the babe was in his court until his mother had come to him, beaten and bloody but curling the little boy into her chest, pushing him gently into Eris’ arms with tears streaming down her face.
One look at the babe and his stomach had dropped. He knew exactly who’s child he was cradling in his arms, and had seen that very look directed at him more times than he could count throughout his 500 years of life.
Confused and absolutely terrified of what would happen should the shadowsinger show up and see his son in the arms of the Autumn Court royal, he set out to return him, not only for you and Azriel, but for his mother. She’d been absolutely broken when Beron brought the babe to her, for she knew just how cruel her husband can be and it reminded her of what he’d been dreaming to do to her youngest son, Lucien.
Eris hated to leave his mother there. Amber eyes burning hot at the sight of her and this babe, quiet and calm but staring up at him with a look that made him shift uncomfortably. Must be a family trait.
He hadn’t known how exactly his father knew where you were or how to attack, but he could give Azriel the go ahead to finally kill that son of a bitch. For his mother, for himself, for you.
This is simply something he never would have done.
Even Rhys gives a slight shake of his head in agreement, permission to do just that and a gleam in his eyes to say that he will personally help the shadowsinger rid Prythian of its resident Autumn abuser.
Eris has to admit that the thought of stealing a child made him sick. Couldn’t even fathom what he’d feel like if he had children of his own, but as he took care of the little boy now tucked safely in your arms – the poor thing – and the reaction of his older brother, so fiercely running into the fray to get to him, it made his heart ache in a different sort of way.
And as much as he doesn’t like the shadowsinger, and he’ll never admit something like this aloud – he does have some cute children.

Gemini Moon: Unwanted Duality
Tumblr media
Geminis. You love them. Or hate them? Honestly it's a toss up at this point. However Gemini Moons tend to get better feedback. They're usually seen as a bouncy, friendly, and witty person to be around. Probably voted as someone who'd you want as a best-friend.
What if all the flower picking and beautiful skies is just scratching the surface though? What if, underneath all the smiles and laughter, there is a storm of twirling thoughts being rallied relentlessly. What if they are, quite literally, the equivalent of that catchy mash-up of Misery x CPR x Reese's Puff's?
Gemini Moon's are extremely complex. This would be due to the moon operating in a sign that wants to process it's emotions through communication and logic, but Gemini itself can be somewhat avoidant in being vulnerable to the extent that the moon wants it to be. It's not that they cannot or refuse to talk about their emotions, but it gets filtered A Lot through their mind instead of just being felt. It can be a pattern of them mulling things over for a bit on their own before it ends up being put out into the world, because of the loop that gets set up in their mind.
Being a mercurial sign, they enjoy getting lost in their thoughts or stories. Being an air sign, they like to interact and engage with others on an intellectual level, debating. Flitting to different subjects or activities within hours or days. There will be a subconscious reaction to always view things from an objective or logical viewpoint, which can make them seem wishy-washy or cold. So when it comes to dealing with their emotions, they can either
end up putting them on the back-burner to be dealt with later by accident or on purpose
minimize the severity of what they're feeling or how it's impacting them by viewing it through the lens of objectivity
This is the cause of them casually dropping heavy thoughts and concerns of theirs, following them up with a light-hearted joke or continuing on as if they didn't just let you in on a bit of their traumatic past. They've already had these thoughts swirling around in their head for weeks, picking it apart, so it's not out of the blue for them, and they can sometimes forget that.
At the same time they don't really like sitting there in the kiddie pool of emotions. Gemini likes being light, having fun, jumping from place to place--they need to be stimulated. When you think of nurturing your emotional wounds, the first few thoughts that come to mind aren't necessarily fast-paced or fun. It's usually calming in some sense. There's also a lot of reflection, which is where the problem lies. Gemini Moons are already flicking through a bunch of thoughts on repeat. In some sense, what's being thrown around in their heads are Fun, Inquisitive things most of the time, but when it's time to focus on negative stuff, it can open up a gate for more negative thoughts to flow in. So that whirlpool is now full of thoughts without much of an escape, because the next thought to cycle through is just another bad one. On one hand, with this happening long enough--and if the moon is well aspected or in a strong house--the native can eventually detangle their thoughts themselves or with someone else and heal their current issue. If not, it either gets pushed back and it's another elephant in the room to turn into a light joke once they're accustomed to it's presence to be dealt with slowly over time.
This can attribute the somewhat weird reactions to Gemini Moons. Depending on the house, some people will see them as 'moodier than water signs', or 'more detached than earth signs'. If it's in the first house, others will notice this fluctuation and whiplash of thoughts the native is experiencing (as well as overall goofiness), and this can cause the native to be somewhat nervous with how they present themselves if it's brought up. If it's in the fifth house, on top of the 'commitment-phobe' label they already get, people can assume they never really loved their partner due to how they deal with issues combined with their 'flirty' nature.
Gemini's don't get a lot of respect for their 'duality', considering they're the ones that have to live with it at the end of the day. Yes, they can play the angel and the devil, but learning how to healthily deal with that in their lives when having a poor response to it is very difficult to do. Which only causes natives to shun parts of themselves to never really harness or be comfortable with those parts of themselves until much later in life when it can be awkward to confront because, 'you should already know this about yourself'. They are an incredible person to sit down and actually get to know once you're let in past all the goofiness they put up as their entire personality in defense.
Overall, Gemini Moons are super fun and fantastic to be around, but the inside of their mind can be a bit of a maze to navigate, even when they're the ones that made it. Sometimes it can be fun, but mostly it's a bit irritating for them until they can get the hang of it.

steve harrington x fem!reader
You’re not like the girls Steve usually dates, maybe that’s why he doesn’t ever ask you out. Or maybe you’re just oblivious to what’s right in front of you.
genre: fluff, hurt/comfort
warnings: feelings of not being enough, sometimes words just spill out of your mouth and it’s embarrassing
word count: 2,600
a/n: anyone else get the feeling that they’re perfectly lovable but only as a friend? Scoops Ahoy Era Steve
Tumblr media
You lay on your back, arms spread at your sides, legs dangling over the pool’s edge and into the cool water below, staring up as the breeze dances through the leaves above you. Sunlight filters down between the gaps, flickering brightly in your eyes—not enough to blind you, just enough to keep your attention, too afraid to let your eyes wander lest they linger too long where they shouldn’t.
Somewhere behind you, back at the oversized and empty house, a wind chime catches on the breeze, hanging metal ringing out like the laughter of faeries. Steve’s mother said it was nice. She’s never around to hear it.
Steve lays on his back beside you, damp hair tousled from his fingers running through it, bare chest half dry from summer heat. If you reached out with your hand, just a little bit of a stretch, you could tangle his fingers between yours. You could tether yourself to the day, palm pressed to his despite the encompassing heat, but you don’t know if you’re allowed to. You’re just friends, after all.
It feels like there’s a mile between you.
It doesn’t seem fair to him for you to feel so distant while he’s laughing beside you with a smile that could rival the sun. It doesn’t seem fair to him for you to want more when he’s the one who invited you over, just you—not anyone else—to waste the day away in his pool. Steve doesn’t even know of your transgressions against him. He’s laughing about something Robin did at work the other day, and you’re wishing you were back in his arms as he attempted to dunk you in the pool, more at risk of drowning in his mirth than in the water.
“She thought it would be a good idea to combine all of the flavors just because we get free ice cream,” Steve exclaims. He swings his legs through the pool water absentmindedly as he speaks, stirring up little whirlpools from the motion.
“Did she finish it all?” His leg bumps into yours, he doesn’t seem to notice. It happens again.
“Oh, definitely. Robin is too stubborn not to,” he says between bouts of laughter. “It made her sick though. She had to take the rest of the day off.”
The hollow in your chest, that pointless ache, doesn’t completely go away, but you can’t help the smile that stretches across your lips as Steve animatedly weaves tales about his days at Scoops Ahoy.
“Did she feel any better the next day?” You know he and Robin are just friends, he’s told you as much plenty of times, and you trust him, but it’s beginning to seem like she’s the only girl in Hawkins Steve hasn’t asked out—her and you. Maybe you’re just not his type, or not magazine pretty enough for him. He never talked to you in school, only becoming friends when things in Hawkins began getting a little too weird. King Steve probably never even knew you existed, but he’s changed so much since then. Now Robin is his best friend and you’re, well, you’re not even that. You’re just a friend.
“You should come by more often,” Steve insists, unaware of the flurry of emotions churning in your chest. “I’m not supposed to give free ice cream to anyone that doesn’t work at Scoops, but you can have the Steve Special any day. Ice cream on the house. Just getting to see you is enough payment.”
He says it so earnestly, says it like you mean something to him. It makes your heart soar and your stomach plummet all at once.
“Gross,” you declare through a peel of giggles. “Don’t call it that.”
“What? The Steve Special? It rhymes!”
“It doesn’t rhyme,” you say, quickly kicking up your foot closest to him, causing water to splash out from the pool and all over his once dry stomach.
Steve doesn’t respond, at least not with words. He wraps you up in his arms and pulls you tight into his chest immediately before he falls into the pool, dragging you down with him. He lets go of you as soon as you hit the water, too late to escape your soggy fate.
He surfaces a few feet away from you, head thrown back as he laughs, overjoyed from such a simple act. Or maybe it’s just the day that has him feeling so relaxed. There is nothing to get done except relax.
You wish he hadn’t let you go, always craving his smallest touch so much it aches, you long for it so badly you could cry. But you don’t, you just laugh along with him.
It’s easy to laugh with him.
The sunlight that manages to filter through the trees floods into the water around you, reflecting in swirling lines across Steve’s exposed skin, quick flickers of pale blue light drawing your eyes along with the motion until your gaze finally lands on his face once more.
He’s already looking at you, eyes still scrunched from the lingering laughter, smiling softly like there’s nothing left weighing him down, but there’s an odd sort of gleam in his gaze, like he knows something that you don’t.
“Come here,” he beckons, opening his arms to you. It’s probably a trick but you gravitate towards him anyway, lured by the promise of being held, a silent siren song. Steve pulls you into him without hesitation, skin as warm as the summer air and smelling of chlorine. He doesn’t try to dunk you in the water again. He just tucks you in close, and the ache you’d been feeling eases immediately.
“What’s this?” You ask, voice quiet for fear of breaking whatever train of thought caused him to want you so near, but he doesn’t answer your question.
“Promise you’ll come see me more,” Steve urges, squeezing you gently to emphasize his words. You simply nod, causing several drops of water to fall, streaming slowly down your neck. Steve brings his hand up to your neck, brushes one of the trails away, fingertips gentle against your skin. “Good. Now I’m going to get us something to drink. It’s important to stay hydrated.”
You miss Steve’s warmth as soon as he lets go.
He sends a wink your way as he hops out of the pool, and you half expect the “hydrating drinks” to be alcoholic. It wouldn’t be the first time the two of you drank by his pool without his parents around.
Steve’s feet slap against the pool deck as walks, leaving little puddles behind each step, echoes of him that aren’t half as beautiful but still catch your eye. He doesn’t bother drying off before he goes inside his house. You can’t imagine his parents would be happy about it, but they’re not around to tell him off. You’re certain that’s exactly why he does it.
You get back out of the pool yourself not long after Steve ducked out of sight. It really is a hot day, and the clear sky offers no respite from the sun. Only the woods behind Steve’s house provide any kind of shade, the tall trees keeping half of his yard dappled, the flecks of sunlight shimmering against everything it manages to reach. It’s pretty, you think, but maybe everything is when he’s around. He even manages to make that silly sailor uniform he’s required to wear for work look pretty.
You wonder again why it is that Steve invited you here today, or, rather, why he only invited you. It sparks a little glimmer of hope, and once again the longing doesn’t seem so bad. He cares about you, at least in some regard. He cares enough to want to spend time with you on his day off in spite of the summer heat.
This is enough, you tell yourself. This has to be enough.
You take up residence in one of the poolside chairs, the long kind meant for lounging, anticipating that Steve will be done swimming for a little while, or at least until you give him another reason to throw you in the pool.
It doesn’t take Steve long to return to you, hands full with two tall glasses of lemonade. The ice clinks against the glass as he walks, condensation already forming around his fingers.
“All we have is lemonade,” he says. “The powdered kind, not fresh. It should still taste alright.”
He hands you one of the glasses, ice chilled fingertips brushing briefly against your own during the handoff, before taking a seat in the chair next to yours, leaning back so far he’s practically lying down.
You take a small sip and the flavor immediately settles on your tongue, at once bitter and sweet. He put too much powder in, so much that you can almost feel the fine grains, only half dissolved. Maybe when the ice melts it will be better mixed, even if it won’t be as cold. You take another sip, simply because Steve made it for you.
Steve takes a deep gulp of his own drink, much bigger than your own small sips, and his reaction is immediate.
“It’s terrible! Absolutely awful,” he groans. He sets his glass down on the small table set up between the chairs.
“It’s not that bad,” you console.
“You don’t need to lie, it’s disgusting. I put way too much powder in and we both know it.” He smiles as he says it, brown eyes shining, a reassurance.
“I wouldn’t go that far. It’s just a little more flavor than I would have expected.”
“It’s grainy!” You can’t help but laugh about the situation. Still, you take another sip of your drink. It’s no better the third time and it makes you laugh again. You set your glass down next to Steves, planning to let the ice melt before you even attempt another sip, content instead to just sit with Steve. It’s easy being with him like this.
It’s easy being with him and it’s getting harder and harder not to tell him that you really like being his friend, but selfishly you want to be something more as well. As your laughter dies the two of you settle back into a comfortable silence, lost in your own thoughts, eyes finding their way back to Steve’s profile each time you think he can’t see you.
He’s almost dry again, brown hair falling across his brow without anything to keep it styled. His eyes are shut, lips parted slightly, relaxed. You lean back in your own chair, a mirror image of him, intent to make a home in the moment for as long as possible.
Somewhere, hidden in the woods, birds are singing and cicadas drone, the soundtrack of summer. You try to focus on the surrounding noise instead of Steve lying next to you. It’s no easier with your eyes closed.
“I can feel you thinking,” Steve states, breaking the silence. You can feel his eyes on you, can imagine the quirk of his lips, slightly upturned to put you at ease, contrasting with his concerned gaze.
“Steve, I really like you,” You blurt out, speaking before you even have time to think of what you’re saying. You don’t look at him as you talk, too afraid of his reaction. “I like you—as more than just a friend. And sometimes I think you might want more too, but other times, other times it seems so foolish to think you could ever see me as anything else.”
Everything is silent for a moment, long enough for the slamming of your heart in your chest to engulf you, for your breath, which suddenly seems much more difficult to get a hold of, to seem too loud. Even the birds, ever present despite the heat, seem to have fallen quiet. It feels as though the whole world is waiting, or maybe it’s just your whole world that’s come to a halt, on the precipice of collapse.
Steve reaches across the small table, takes your hand in his own like it’s the easiest thing in the world. His fingers are cold from holding the lemonade, still wet from the condensation. A part of you wants to clutch onto him tightly so that you might warm his hand up. Another part of you is grateful for the reprieve from the summer heat. The biggest part of you is simply happy to have his hand in yours.
He tugs gently, guiding you out of your chair and pulling you close to him. You can feel him sitting up as you inch closer, but you keep your gaze cast downward, looking at your toes, anything to avoid the risk of seeing disappointment in his eyes.
“Will you please look at me?” He asks gently, fingers of his free hand coming up to cup your cheek, coaxing, but not forcing, you to look at him. You grant him that, even though you’re afraid, but you find only something soft in his gaze. He’s smiling again, always smiling.
“I like you, like, really like you,” he continues. “Everyone keeps saying it’s totally obvious. I thought you knew!”
“What? Really?” You desperately want it to be true. This would be a cruel trick to play, and Steve isn’t callous.
“Oh, one hundred percent. I’m an idiot! I really thought you knew, thought there was no way you couldn’t see it all over my face.”
“I had no clue.” You feel giddy, stupidly happy, hardly able to believe that Steve could ever like you back. It feels like a dream— a cheesy, childish confession—like an illusion brought on by the summer heat. “I really like you too.”
“I know,” he says, tugging you even closer, forcing you to sit beside him, leaving no space between you,“or at least I thought you might.” It’s as if he can read your mind, as if he knows what’s been worrying you all day. And maybe he does, maybe that’s what he saw in the pool when you were too oblivious—that gleam in his eyes, that knowing.
Maybe your feelings are more obvious than his, or he’s just better at reading them than you, more experienced. It doesn’t matter now though, not anymore. He pulls you in close, just like he had done in the pool, but it feels different now. Longing turned to fondness, sweet as honey, soothes the ache.
“Can I kiss you?” Steve asks, forehead already pressed to yours, eyes half lidded, lips only an inch away. Still, he waits.
“Please,” you practically whisper. It comes out needier than you meant for it to, almost begging, but you don’t mind, because he’s kissing you as soon as the word slips past your lips.
He kisses you desperately, like he’s been waiting a long time to do so, lips warm and pliant against your own. He presses firmly against you, removing any and all space between you both, as if he’s afraid you’ll slip away. You can’t help but wonder if he felt that ache too, if now, dizzy from the heat of summer and each other, he feels just a little bit lighter.
Steve bites your bottom lip gently, shifting into something slower, deeper, more assured, and you melt further into him, pulling lightly at the back of his neck to bring him ever closer. He sighs softly against you, a quiet sound you can’t help but return, hands wandering to take in every inch of him that you forbade yourself from knowing, thought he wouldn’t want you to know. His own hands tug you closer still. You’re practically in his lap now, but there’s still a sweetness to the kiss that leaves you almost trembling.
He tastes like lemonade.

REVIEW
Gwilin will never be the same again, and I have this story to thank.
This time around, I cannot comment on this Gwilin without first touching on the author's OC, Corimir. My heart broke and was put back together about a thousand times for him throughout this story. He was an Altmer prisoner of war, degraded and deprived at the hands of the Stormcloaks, and a slave to the whirlpool of seemingly incorrigible thoughts that enveloped his mind after his rescue, which were rooted in the months of abuse he had endured. Two characters helped keep him from surrendering to this whirlpool; helped him keep his head above water. The first was Elanwe. The second... was Gwilin.
The way we experience this Gwilin is filtered through the lens of Corimir’s extreme prejudice, at first. In his first appearance, he is labeled the “dirty little Bosmer”. A lesser thing. Soon enough, Corimir is the one who is made “lesser”; made to feel small for being so curt and suspect towards the stranger who opened his home and his heart to him. In a mere five days, Gwilin manages to ease Corimir's harsh exterior, to begin to buff out –in dribs and drabs– the mistrust from his tense and restless mind.
In the process, the journey of healing that Corimir began the second he'd stepped foot outside of Windhelm became intertwined with the fondness he felt himself develop for this irresistibly emphatic, almost unbelievably chipper Bosmer. This man was a fountain of patience and kindness, always willing to lend a hand or an ear, even at times when Corimir was more inclined to push the first away, and leave the second swimming in silence.
This Gwilin, though not appearing to be the boldest at first, had his heart set on Corimir from the beginning, and doesn't beat around the bush for long. He is quick to show Corimir that he's caught his eye, and quicker to respect his boundaries when it becomes clear that Corimir is still sifting through the debris in his mind, still cobbling his personhood back together. And when he has to leave Gwilin behind, Gwilin can do little else except bite his tongue, and quietly lament what could've been. And I was right there lamenting with him.
There was a pit in my stomach that grew bigger as the story progressed, product of my feeling Gwilin's absence. Corimir felt it, as well: that enchanting little Bosmer existed only as a gnawing memory in his mind, then, one which which refused to leave his side. How could it? In lieu of his person, Gwilin's memory became Corimir's respite from his nauseating experience touching base with his Thalmor superiors. In moments of quiet, of deafening silence and unbearable stillness, he wanted him to be there. To help fill in the gaps.
One of my favorite things about this story is that, in it, Gwilin is unmistakably queer. In his body language, in his self-expression, in his deeds, in the way he loves. When I first went to read this story and saw the "Trans Character" tag, I thought perhaps Corimir was the character the tag was referencing. Somewhere in Chapter 4, when Corimir and Gwilin are making out and the author dropped the line about Corimir's knee grazing between Gwilin's legs and not feeling much there, I understood Gwilin was the trans character, and became overjoyed. I am constantly thinking about all the beautiful and varied depictions of Gwilin, and I love that what they usually have in common is how understanding they are, and what a ray of light they are to the people in their lives. Queer people especially are rays of light, and to say that I appreciated being able to see a Gwilin who feels so at peace with himself and content about where he is in his life is the understatement of the century.
To balance out those strong emotions is Gwilin's ever-present good humour. Near the end of the story, in Chapter 12, Corimir asks Gwilin about his top scars, and Gwilin responds somewhat nervously –but with the earnest candor I've come to expect from my favorite Gwilins– about his being trans. He's so sincere and affable in the way he goes about it; he could disarm anyone with just the glint of his eyes, I swear.
The only pitfall of this Gwilin was that his sweetness, patience, and perkiness could occasionally drift into the overly-saccharine (though I won’t lie and pretend most everyone wouldn't love to be looked after as Gwilin looks after Corimir). Perhaps seeing Gwilin's patience wear thin at one point or talk more about what Corimir leaving made him feel like would've made it easier for me to connect with his character beyond his pleasing demeanor and his charm.
The only other thing I can think of that seemed off was that in moments where Gwilin's naiveté poked its head in, he had a tendency to come off as rather childlike, which is not a particularly endearing trait for me to detect in a character who's an adult. But that could just be me.
On the whole, there is something to be said about the kind of people who “go the other way”, who –instead of becoming hardened by years of trying to carve out their place in the world– become softer, perhaps sweetened by their wisdom. In this story, within and through everything, that is Gwilin.
Moment that my mind chose to fixate on: I really, really liked the scene where Malborn and Gwilin are speaking Bosmeris and Corimir is just like "I will now be retiring myself from the hut at this time". Also, all descriptions of Gwilin's smiles that were like “Every now and then he’d catch Corimir’s eye and would offer one of those impish little smiles, his eyes crinkling at the corners." or “Gwilin laughed and scooted closer, smiling up at him in that impish way.” instantly had me imagining the kind of smile where the eyes do most of the smiling, y’know? And how can you not fall in love with that?
I. Compellingness
Very compelling Gwilin, what with his pinky promises and swishing ponytail and alchemical expertise and all. Something about him is that he speaks in quips; he is rather quippy. But the quips stem from a sort of merry drunkenness he has from living and being alive, so he gets a pass, I suppose. 8/10
II. Swagger
Getting caught admiring someone's beauty while they're asleep and still putting the moves on them? And having them reciprocate? SWAG CITY. 10/10
III. Talent
This Gwilin is a master alchemist, though he’d never call himself such for fear of appearing to put on airs. He's also an excellent caretaker, a chef, and a woodworker (obviously). Overall, a super talented and multifaceted Gwilin with a true love for his craft, and for those he gifts the fruits of his labor to. 10/10
IV. Backstory
Decent amount of backstory bestowed on this Gwilin. He has a good relationship with his mom, apparently, as well as a love for travel, having seen a decent chunk of Tamriel after leaving home at thirty and roaming around for ten years. He had a few Khajiit lovers, as well, and had some tough experiences with the Spinners (who I must confess I do not know much about). Wow. What a worldly Gwilin. 8/10
V. Pleasure of Reading
In this story, the verbless clauses sprinkled throughout were deliciously jarring to read (e.g. “A blanket fluttered down overtop of him, smelling of cedar and woodsmoke. Gwilin’s firm hand on his shoulder.”). Moreover, there were a quite a few interesting bits of grammar and word order usage that were new and unfamiliar to me, but felt very distinctive to the author's style of writing (e.g. “‘What all is in that?’” or “Either way, he’d been too frightened to ask after her.”).
I love how the author clips narration when the final thought of a sentence or paragraph can clearly be surmised, like so: “He’d had very little to tell the Stormcloaks, being a low-ranking officer. Sometimes he’d lead them on, bait them into thinking he was holding something back. The physical beatings were a relief compared to—”.
Because the substance of this story more than merits it, I have to take a moment to digress here and say Corimir’s characterization is exquisite. There are two shining examples.
One is during his interrogation in Chapter 5. He’s so, so terrified at the thought of failing to please. It illustrates how the prospect of failure lingers constantly in his mind, rearing up when in the presence of an authority figure. He's so well-conditioned with Thalmor ideology, they have his own mind keeping the knife at his throat, so they don't have to. It’s Chilling.
The other is when Kordin appears at the embassy in Chapter 7. Gosh, Corimir losing his sense of security the way he did… After weeks of reassuring himself he's safe, accepting that it's over a little bit more each day, only to have to see the irrational fear materialize? To have it be true? I couldn't imagine what that's like, but the author did an excellent job of carrying the reader through his disbelief, nausea, distress, and, finally, the anger he takes out on Malborn.
On the whole, the prose is decidedly haunting: it sticks with you and carves into you as much in the calming and tender parts of the story as it does in the harsher, more tense ones. This author presented the best imagery out of all the "gwilin" tag fics I've read, bar none. Whatever the opposite of White Room Syndrome is, is what this author had going on. I could visualize depth, space, and time super vividly in nearly every single scene of the story. 10/10
VI. Horniness
One line of supreme importance: “Gwilin nuzzled into his hand like a pleased housecat, sliding closer until he was nearly sitting in Corimir’s lap.” That, plus the way he runs his fingertips through Corimir's hair and scalp. Ooga Booga. 10/10
Final Tally
My
autistic ass
gives this Gwilin a 9/10!

Forgotten Curse: Sukuna x Curse! Reader: Chapter 16:
Tumblr media
Oh shit.
Sweat rolled down her cheek as she realized how screwed she was. There was no way she would be able survive. Letting out a strained laugh she released a tsunami of cursed energy which was as vibrant as a tropical ocean.
I'm going to be chopped into pieces.
Dread consumed her entire body as she remembered her life before she came into this world. She remembered how she was a spec in the droves of people. She remembered how she followed along the go-to equation of society. She remembered how it was killing her inside. And now death was facing her.
You won't die here, it's just training.
But it didn't feel that way. It was as if she was back to her old self; a trembling rabbit realizing there was nowhere else to run.
She was weak.
Nothing had changed from past to present. It was all an act; she was putting on a confident character of herself. She thought she was numb, desensitized to a true battle. But fear struck her straight through the heart.
And she hated it.
She hated everything with her entire soul. Forcefully she changed the plot, making it play to her whims. But she knew nothing. These were no longer characters in a story but people or curses so to speak.
A flame sparked in her, the purest form of those raging whirlwind of emotions she suppressed for so long. It wasn't Sukuna's attack that was going to tear her apart but her overwhelming emotions. She choked on her own breath and her hands became like that of an ice sculpture.
She couldn't tell whether it was his attack or her own that was causing her such agony. Lines stretched from head to toe on her body in multiple sections. The clean cuts began to seep with blood but not before they separated abruptly from her once whole body.
A snicker played on Sukuna's lips, "I thought you would use your domain expansion. But it appears my power could not help you do something so simple." Strolling over to her corpse he kicked one of her iced hands. He crouched down next to her sliced up form with a wide grin.
A strange mist emanated from her frozen and frost-covered body. Raising an eyebrow Sukuna lit her body on fire which in turn did not make the mist disappear but made more mist generate. Wary Sukuna got up and his attention was on the place where their domain's connected. He clicked his tongue in annoyance and saw an abundance of the mist was filtering out into his domain.
That's when a kick came from right in front of him. "Are you trying to sneak attack me? How foolish."
Each attack after that came from every direction and he had no problem blocking all of them. That was until the water level rose. Sukuna watched as the liquid came slowly at first until it was ripping current as vicious as a stormy sea. The liquid froze everything it touched and Sukuna had to keep breaking out of it until it was practically at his height. Swimming in the liquid was near impossible as he had to keep regenerating over and over from his limbs blistering and freezing from the cold temperatures.
Hands grabbed at his feet from below and he was dragged under the ever-rising waves in the misty environment. Looking down he saw his enemy staring at him.
She was ice itself and the only part of her he saw was the identical markings on her face and those red eyes.
Sukuna cut off her hands and her scream was muffled by the ocean of liquid nitrogen. Though it didn't matter as they regenerated from the endless amounts of liquid before he could blink. He surfaced and found no edge to the ocean that surrounded him.
Around him a whirlpool formed dragging him down to the depths again. This time she had him in a chokehold and the liquid seared his lungs.
He mouthed the words "Enough." but she did not move. This time he called out to her, "Hey, I told you were stopping here."
She did not budge at his words, instead she held him down tighter, cutting off the circulation to his feet. It was as if she wasn't there but in her own head.
He frowned as his skin constantly bubbled from the regeneration. In an attempt to help her come back to her senses he cut and cut and cut. But it did not do anything, there was too much liquid nitrogen for his attacks to do anything.
Her body split like water when his attacks hit and she just melded back together again.
"It worked earlier why not now?" He wondered. As time went on the currents tore at his flesh she did not relent. Reaching down to his feet he grabbed at her hands and crushed them under his grasp. "Finally."
The curse became confused when nothing was in her hands. She was fraught with panic and when she caught sight of Sukuna, she lunged toward him to hold him down again.
He avoided her easily getting a hold of his new environment.
She chased after trying to constantly nab him.
But he seized her wrists in his hands.
With her caught she flailed with everything she had to escape his hold.
Using his cursed energy, he exuded a raging flame making the liquid nitrogen evaporate. Although for the ocean of liquid nitrogen this did nothing but she began to revert back to her ice form. The tide reeled back with a fierce rip current, draining back into her domain.
Sukuna was laying on his back still holding onto her wrists which appeared more like ice than a colorless liquid now.
She lifted up her head and her eyes were glazed over when she met his gaze. She tried to claw at him but he held her wrists firmly.
“Are you done yet?” He waited for her to respond but she did not speak. The only thing that did come out of her mouth was incoherent sounds like a wild animal.
Tears streamed from her eyes which ended up freezing when they fell to the ground.
“Is there no getting through to you? Do you intend to keep acting like a child?” Sukuna said. “I’d prefer if you’d come back to your rational self. It’s much more entertaining.”
He sighed irked that after all that she just kept weeping. But he could also sense frustration coming from her garbled speech. Sukuna drew her closer and placed his hand on the back of her head letting her rest in the crook of his neck.
“I hope you don’t remember this. Cause I won’t be doing it again.” He deeply inhaled letting her sniffles be the one sound that echoed in his domain.
“You know, I really want to kill you but I’m just too tired.” He let his fingers brush through her icy hair and closed his eyes with a yawn.

Five Useful Tips to Prolong The Life of Your Washing Machine
Tumblr media
It is not recommended to use it every day or allow residue or detergent to accumulate
Lg Washing Machine Service in Coimbatore
The  washing machine is our ally in cleaning and caring for our clothes. However, it is also necessary to give it the necessary attention to extend its useful life and continue to perform its function efficiently.
Leaving residue on it or leaving it damp after a wash cycle could encourage mold growth and lead to clogs that will require a sometimes costly repair. With these tips, you can take better care of your  washing machine.
Samsung Washing Machine Service in Coimbatore
1. Do not wash clothes after each use.
Using your  washing machine  daily can reduce its life time because it works more and, additionally, you increase water consumption. It is best to wait until you have a good amount of clothes accumulated to wash but without filling it too much, as it decreases its washing quality.
Whirlpool Washing Machine Service in Coimbatore
2. Don't use too much detergent
If you exceed the dose of detergent needed, the dispenser will quickly fill with residue and could become clogged, damaging the  washing machine . To clean it, run it under a running faucet and use a small brush or old toothbrush to remove any residue.
Ifb Washing Machine Service in Coimbatore
3. Don't forget the filter
The filter is important because it is responsible for collecting objects, fluff, threads and other particles that appear during washing. Cleaning it is essential, not only for it to fulfill its function, but also because it could damage the washing machine by covering the duct.
4. Clean your washing machine inside
To avoid bad odours, you have to clean the inside of the  washing machine  once a month. To do this, start a wash cycle with hot water and no clothes inside. Some people add baking soda and vinegar to better remove dirt.
                      Washing Machine Service Centre Coimbatore
5. Leave the door open
When you don't use the washing machine, unplug it to avoid energy consumption. In addition, leave the door ajar so that the interior is ventilated and mold does not form or it generates a bad smell.

today, the washing machine wasn’t working. i must’ve sent the same load through a drain/spin cycle a thousand times before I turned to my mama and said, “it’s doing the thing again.”
sedately, she took off her headphones and replied, “okay, let me finish writing this email, and then I’ll come be sad with you.”
while she typed, I knelt down to pat the dogs. when she was done, she opened a new tab, and—
“what’s the name of the washing machine?”
“whirlpool….duet. whirlpool duet.”
she pulls up a video of a dad with the same error code as I come to her desk. there’s a tin of extra-sour lemon drops next to her laptop.
“ooh, can I have one?”
“yes, you may!”
I open the tin, and there’s only one left along with the powdery dust from the others. my mama always has lemon drops on her desk— for her last birthday, my mom got her three different kinds to taste test. mama keeps one bag perpetually open, next to the sticky notes and pens. one bag is relegated to the freezer for when she’s out of options. this tin is her favorite, a fact mom carefully took note of when the verdict initially came in.
“oh, it’s the last one,” I say.
“you can have it, the taste of the second to last one is still on my tongue,” she says, and smiles, and presses play on the video.
we listen to the dad explain (sped up, because mama doesn’t have patience for dilly-dallying) how to remove and clean the water filter, lemon on our tongues.
mama had a busy day, today. so busy she was still writing emails at 6:30, indulging in her favorite lemon drops, listening to one of her writing playlists. mama was busy, but not so busy she couldn’t be sad with her baby, and offer the last lemon drop, and get out her pink set of tools to remove the water filter, and not so impatient to say no to waiting for mom to get home and fix it, after all.
my mama’s favorite flavor is lemons. one day, my mom will plant a Meyer lemon tree in the finished greenhouse for her. one day, I’ll make her powdery lemon drops worthy of the good tin.

F02 in Whirlpool Washers: Simple Steps to Resolve
Whirlpool washers are renowned for their efficiency and reliability, but like any household appliance, they can encounter occasional issues. One such common problem that users may face is the dreaded F02 error, disrupting the washing cycle and causing inconvenience. In this comprehensive guide, we will delve into the causes of the F02 error in Whirlpool washers and provide step-by-step solutions to ensure a hassle-free laundry experience.
Understanding the F02 Error: The F02 error code in Whirlpool washers signals a drainage problem. This issue typically arises when the washer encounters difficulties draining water efficiently. The causes can range from clogged filters and blocked drain hoses to malfunctions in the pump assembly.
Tumblr media
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting:
Check for Clogged Filters:
Begin by locating the filter compartment on your Whirlpool washer. Gently remove and inspect the filters, ensuring that no debris or lint is obstructing the drainage. Clean the filters thoroughly, as accumulated debris can impede water flow and trigger the F02 error.
Inspect Drain Hoses:
Examine the drain hoses for any visible kinks, twists, or blockages. If potential issues are identified, carefully detach the hoses and clear them of any debris that might hinder the drainage process. Ensuring unobstructed water flow through the hoses is crucial in resolving the F02 error.
Verify Pump Functionality:
Access the pump assembly, usually located at the bottom of the washer. Confirm that the pump is not clogged by inspecting it for any debris or foreign objects. Test the pump's functionality by manually rotating the impeller to ensure smooth movement.
Clear the Drain Pump:
Occasionally, foreign objects like lint or small items may obstruct the drain pump. Remove the pump cover, typically located at the front of the washer, and eliminate any obstacles that may impede its operation. Thoroughly clean the pump area to prevent future issues.
Run a Test Cycle:
After performing the above steps, run a test cycle to observe if the F02 error persists. Monitor the drainage process closely to ensure water is flowing smoothly without interruptions. A successful test cycle indicates that the troubleshooting steps have effectively addressed the F02 error.
Seeking Professional Assistance:
If, despite your best efforts, the F02 error persists, it may be time to consider professional appliance repair services. Search for "appliance repair near me" to find experienced technicians specializing in Whirlpool washer repairs. These professionals possess the expertise to diagnose and address complex issues, ensuring your appliance operates at its best.
Conclusion: Resolving the F02 error in Whirlpool washers is often a straightforward process that users can undertake themselves with the right guidance. By following these comprehensive steps, you can address common issues causing the error and restore your washer to optimal functionality. However, in cases where DIY efforts fall short, do not hesitate to reach out to professional appliance repair services for expert assistance, ensuring a seamless and stress-free laundry experience.
