Continuing to fire on all cylinders to make this Sky 🤝Mononoke collab a reality! 🐲⚖️🌊
Process GIFs and artist commentary below the cut. ⬇️
Left: Process GIF Middle: Just the background, cos I really like how it looks! Right: Illustration without the collab logo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here are my notes on my inspirations and references. There's a lot of 'em, so instead of embedding relevant images one by one I put them in a callout sheet! For accessibility, I also included transcript (with bonus ramblings) below each sheet.
Tumblr media
Ofuda circle modeled in Google Sketchup 2017, then lightly transformed in Photoshop to flare out. I tried my best to hand-draw these, but it the results came out really clunky and stiff. I figured if Mononoke shamelessly utilizes 3D in their show, I can too!
Krill and sky kid composition roughly inspired by the Ayakashi DVD cover illustration. On the surface level, the krill's black-and-red color scheme mirrored that of the bake-neko. Not to mention, in the world of Sky, the krill would be the best fit of a mononoke-like entity. The red background is also a nod to the red skies seen during a shard eruption in Sky.
Sky kid gesture based on the Festival Spin Dancer's Tier 3 poses and the Medicine Seller's iconic pose in the Zakishiwarahi episode as inspiration. This was the idea which springboarded this illustration into existence. I wanted to do my take of the Medicine Seller's pose, but in a more dynamic manner: rotate the pose to a profile position and set the ofuda in a diagonal, flared out arrangement.
Cape inspired by tenbin design featured in the 2024 Mononoke movie. This one's an interesting one - I wanted the cape to be a stiff material that doesn't "flap" when in flight - similar to the Aurora wing capes. It ended up looking like a kite of sorts, which I'm not entirely opposed to! I haven't had the opportunity to showcase the back view of this cape design, but I envision it having some mechanical aspects to it - the "wing" which are flared out in this illustration fold in like moth wings, and a little bell is attached to the "tail" part and it jingles a little whenever the sky kid flaps!
Bandana is based on the Scaredy Cadet's hairstyle from the Season of Assembly. Mask design utilizes the 2023 Days of Style mask and the Nintendo Pack mask as bases. Pretty self-explanatory. I basically went onto the Sky wiki and found the cosmetics that most closely matched what I was looking for. Then if necessary, I went to the Office space to do photoshoots to get the appropriate camera angles for them all.
Seasonal pendant inspired by the classic Medicine Seller's necklace and the eye motif featured in the 2024 Mononoke movie. Possibly the only one-to-one homage to the classic Medicine Seller design here, but his garnet necklace was too good of a match to the seasonal pendant. A side tangent: does the new Medicine Seller possess a necklace, let alone a mirror? So far all the shots of him don't feature it. Fascinating.
Tumblr media
Dark dragon krill anatomy references a custom figurine crafted by @/escaflowne_n07 on Twitter. Until I found this, I was honestly at a loss finding reference for this - be it on the internet or during in-game photoshoots. The lighting on the krill in-game focused on its menacing silhouette rather than its structure. And not to mention, getting a close-up shot almost always set off the dark creature's aggro. I have no idea how this guy found the references to put this model together - well done!
Mantas, elder constellations, and sun dog references murals in the Cave of Prophecy. Krill aside, the overall illustration was leaning a little too much towards Mononoke so I tried finding opportunities to insert more Sky into it. Added bonus is that now there's storytelling in the background: during a shard eruption, a giant krill rises from the frothing waves of dark water to hunt down a flock of mantas.
Clouds behind the sun dog reference the ones featuring heavily in the Umibozu episode. This illustration has a lot of ocean theming, so I figured this would be appropriate.
Rendering style of the background is lightly inspired by the 2007 Mononoke illustration. Mainly having a 2D inked style to contrast with the more polished render of the sky kid. Funnily enough, this was a tertiary inspiration, which lead to the discovery in the next point!
Dark water waves and sun dog composition heavily references Hokusai's "The Great Wave". The waves were modified to be bottle-green of the Golden Wasteland's dark waters. The sun dog is in the spot where Mt. Fuji is in the original composition. these were all hand-drawn by the way! I merely emulated the style of the source material. As a side note, I also borrowed the spotted sea spray rendering for the krill's red spotlight.
Background pattern taken from the ofuda design featured in the 2024 Mononoke movie poster. Mainly to add some gritty texture to the sky. I worked pretty hard to replicate this ofuda design as a high-res asset so I wanted to use it more!

TSAMS/LAES character headcanons
Some headcanons I have :)
Sun:
•When Sun is stressed, he will plop on his bed and snuggle with his cats.
•At first, Sun was kinda jealous of Solar from how close he and Moon were, but then Solar told him that Moon still loved him, so they’re cool.
•Sun likes whenever he gets compliments, especially from Moon, since he doesn’t get them that often.
•He has read Warrior Cats. If not, I’m forcing it upon him to read all 100+ books.
•He will dress up his cats for Halloween and other special occasions/holidays.
Moon:
•He wears Solar’s shirt/sweatshirt after he died, and refuses to take it off until Solar’s back.
•He loved hanging with Solar, because he actually got Moon, and they probably made a playlist of songs they listened to, and moon still listens to it. Their favorite is ‘Bloom’ by ‘The Paper Kites’.
•Moon likes podcasts.
•Everytime he passes by one of his siblings, he gives a small: ‘Hi ___!’
Earth:
•Earth has a flower crown/flower garden and each flower is color coded to someone she cares about. (E.i.: Sun-Sunflower, Lunar-Light Blue orchid, etc.)
•Earth likes Journaling, but sometimes will draw in it. She has a lot of stickers, post it notes, coloring utensils and washi tape.
•Earth is an excellent braclet maker and braider.
•Sometimes when she is bored, so will read some of Lunar’s comic books.
Lunar:
•He probably has a secret small room/closet where he just paints on the walls. Only Gemini and maybe Earth knows about this.
•Like Eclipse, Solar and Frank, Lunar has a strong connection to Gemini.
•If Lunar had a pocket or a pair of overalls, he would carry Spigot around in it.
•Ever since he met Earth, he’s kinda been stuck to her, and sometimes when they first met he would hold on to her leg, forcing her to stay with him for a bit longer.
•Lunar is trying to learn how to braid.
Solar:
•(Going off of my first Eclipse headcanon) If/When Solar comes back, he will be able to talk to his original Sun and Moon.
•He probably had a hole is his shirt/sweatshirt, and after he died, moon stitched it up (messily) with a little orange heart.
•Solar likes podcasts.
•Solar is probably Bi.
•Solar watches over all his siblings, and sometimes will put a hand on their shoulder or hug them, which gives them chills.
•His theme song is ‘Can’t Help falling in Love’ by ‘Built by Titan’ BECAUSE IT IS SO AMAZING SONG GO LISTEN TO IT!! ⬇️
youtube
Ruin:
•Plays Baby shark 24/7 in his mind as a way to cope.
•Despite being trapped in his cell, Moon let him have a smol shark plushie.
Eclipse:
•I imagine that since he like ‘died’ died, that he can communicate with a spirit he’s connected to, so Solar Flare is his.
•He secretly does care about the others, as shown with him telling Moon: ‘You should grieve with your siblings’ ‘You should charge’ and the fact that he left Ruin alone after moon said please.
•Eclipse secretly does miss Solar, but mainly because he’s getting a bit tired of hearing everyone cry.
•He’s okay with being around Earth, but will only talk to her, and doesn’t really like it whenever she tries to put a hand on his back/shoulder.
Frank/Forkface:
•He likes the Kahoot song. It’s his theme song.
•We don’t know much about him, but I imagine he can also talk to spirits, and his is KC.
BloodMoon:
•He probabaly doodles a little signature of sign that knows it was him whenever he kills someone.
•He will sometimes play-fight his other half when bored.
•He may possibly have a smol Rotrick/tails plushie.
Gemini/Castor & Pollux:
•Pollux likes taking things from the lost and found, and this is how she found her iconic hair clips I draw her in.
•They are still a bit angry at Lunar, but really miss him and want to see him again.
•Castor and Pollux loved racing Lunar for fun.
•They like watching Bluey with Nebula.
•Sometimes they send fake notes to Lunar, or imagine Lunar is writing to them, kinda like Evan and Connor in ‘Dear Evan Hansen’.
•Pollux and Nebula are trying to learn how to braid hair.
KC/Solar Flare & others:
•Sometimes Sun, Moon, Earth, Solar and Lunar will have sleepovers and just sleep in one big pile like Mudwings.
•I imagine Nebula likes watching SmokeeBee, Blixemi and Bellasaurus on YT.
•Jack O’ Moon has a blue sqeaky dog bone that he likes to chew on. And possibly a collar.
•KC and Solar Flare help the new spirits that come to wherever they are. They also like eating Ice Cream.
•Everyone has plushies of each other, and when they have a bad dream about them they hug the plush of that person, kind of like they’re comforting them. Solars has been hugged A LOT lately.
•Whenever Lunar and Eclipse pass each other, they smirk and both say: ‘Idiot.’ Then keep walking, like it’s some kind of joke they do.
I’ll probably come back and add more later idk

How to be Coquette in Spring 🐣🌸
How to be the girliest, coquette forest fairy, in bloom for the Spring season 🍃🧚‍♀️💌
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wake up early every Spring morning. Everything is in bloom! Read a light hearted book in bed. Open your window to smell the fresh air and flowers if your lucky like me and live in the countryside! If your in a city, go for a walk! Have a shower, do your skincare and make a healthy, Spring breakfast. Maybe some fruit with all the fresh colors now the weather is warming up? 🍓🍉
Wear floral print everything! (Especially in Springtime) 🌷 Pick an airy, fairy light outfit. But make sure it’s still warm incase it gets chilly and there are any April showers 🌧 Some Coquette Spring clothing essentials are (milkmaid tops, Mary Janes, floral dresses, pretty skirts, cardigans, flower crowns, satchels, light-knit sweaters, crochet items 🎀)
School or work can be boring. But Spring makes everything better 💐 Walk to school/work if you can and listen to Lana. Make your notes look pretty with some pretty flower doodles, leaf drawings or add flower pressing to your school books/journals. Wear flowers in your hair to school, make daisy chains at break/lunch. Bring in some Spring treats for your friends to enjoy. Maybe buy a new floral backpack and add some pretty flower charms to it, also invest in some pastel highlighters/stationary for Spring. Put some Spring stickers on your headphones/water bottle🌼
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Go on a picnic. This is literally the perfect time of year to as the weather is getting warmer. Take a pink, gingham picnic blanket with you and go and have fun! Take some pictures for Instagram and you could even decorate a pretty cake to bring with you 🎂
Do some Spring baking. Heart shaped cookies, cupcakes, pastel rice crispie nests, jam envelope’s, cherry pie, the list is endless. You could also bring these sweet treats on your picnic! 🍰💌
Have a tea party. By yourself or with friends. You could go vintage shopping for some beautiful china teacups/tea sets. Bake scones, but biscuits and pretty sweets like marshmallows, party rings, bon-bons and macaroons. Buy a selection of Tea’s and dress up elegantly. Decorate your table with a pink tablecloth and add pretty decorations all around. Wear silk, lacy gloves too, so you look like a Spring princess sipping her tea 🍵🎀
Do some flower pressing 🌸
Buy anything that is “ditsy floral” print and anything that is Bunny themed 🐰
Have a yellow, pink, cream, beige and baby blue wardrobe all throughout this time of year 💝
Go on long Spring walks. Even if you live in a city. You can take pretty photos and see wildlife as you walk ⛅️
Wear flowers or bows in your hair everyday to really emulate Spring through your outfits. Wether they be casual or classy at all times 🪷
Have a new Spring scent. There are so many floral scented perfumes, and you could correlate one for this season. Then whenever you smell that scent again, you will be reminded of Spring 🌷
Buy a pink raincoat and umbrella to splash in April shower puddles. Take some cute photos with them for Instagram and put a “rainy day” quote as the caption💦💗
Don’t forget to indulge in sweet treats. Especially because it has been Easter. Now winter comfort food is out the way, Spring is a very sweet and refreshing time of year. Treat yourself and venture out of your comfort zone with some yummy looking new pastries or sweets from another country. (I love Japan’s sweets soooo much!) 🍡
Make a new “Coquette Spring playlist” or just add mine to your library 😋 ⬇️🌸
Read light hearted novels or fantasy children’s hooks, outside on sunny days. 📖
Have a “Coquette Spring” movie marathon. Cinderella (2015), Marie Antionette, Tangled, Pride & Prejudice and A room with a view are all beautiful and visually aesthetically pleasing movies to watch this time of year 🌸
And that’s it! I hope you have the most beautiful Spring ever and have fun frolicking around in fresh, sweet meadows, in pretty silk dresses from morning till noon 🌷🐰

Ok so some updates on the Obey Me Dark Lab au I'm working on:
[This post here is the original idea I had: ⬇️]
First, I have decided to redo the main summary to in fact be gender neutral. However, this means I won't be having smut in the main story for a while because I'm still not used to writing gn smut just yet. I'm still testing out and changing things in the first chapter to now fit this gn reader/mc. And specific gendered smut will be for side stories or certain head cannons. (It still will be heavy angst, gorey, and have a lot of yandere men who are touch starved, the main story that is, the first chapter doesn't dive too much into all of that.)
Second, I'm going to eventually post a Yandere! Beelzebub x gn! Mc fanfic before I post the first chapter to get some feedback about me writing gn! Mc so I can improve for the main story release.
Third, I am also working on the brothers designs for this au. (I still haven't fleshed out how I want Barb or Dia to look yet.) So far only Beelzebub is done (I'm currently working on Satan's). I'm mainly just using their in game sprites and adding things to their demon forms + different clothing. (I will actually draw them out myself in my horrible art style whenever I get the time to do so, probably do some on the camping trip i go on next week. Also for the clothing, think more like insane asylum clothes... kinda like season two of American Horror Story. Or just comfy clothes like sweatpants and a t-shirt.) (The demons will look more like demons, I am determined to try.)
Fourth, I'm going to make little character files (like how doctors keep records of patients.) They will show the information about each of the characters. (This will not only include the brothers + Dia and Barb, but also head scientist Solomon and lead director Simeon.)
Finally, I'm going to try and eventually make a masterlist once I get all these stories rolling. I just have to post the content and learn how to make a masterlist first...Anyway you all have an amazing day and I hope to have the story posted sometime soon. (College is a pain in my back.)
Edit: The yandere Beelzebub x gn! Reader is out here is the link to it.

Illusory Sensorium ran a game of Barkeep and their writeup is one of the clearest signs that the hard work we put in was worth it.
Tumblr media
Here's the recap. I genuinely was laughing out loud a few times. Highly recommend: https://illusorysensorium.com/b1-wand-of-embiggening/
If you want to delve into the design theory of Barkeep, keep reading! ⬇️
When we were working on the book, we came up with a sort of mantra for the encounters: Is it sticky? Is it toyetic? Do the NPCs have means, motive, and opportunity? Is there information, choice, and impact?
That's a lot of jargon, and it's been synthesized from across multiple sources. Prismatic Wasteland summed it all up here:
Sticky means that the encounter isn't something the characters can avoid. It sticks to them.
Toyetic came from false machine as well, but also from a post now lost to time from Rebecca Chenier. Basically—will the players and GM want to pick up and play with the encounter?
MMO is just a way to conceptualize NPCs in a simple, understandable form.
ICI is from Bastionland. We can't make informed decisions without information, and there's no point to making decisions if our choices don't matter.
Building the encounters meant looking at each of them carefully and considering those foundational elements. Not EVERY encounter needed every single thing. In fact, with the way WFS wanted to write the book, each encounter had to be relatively short and packing a punch.
A really really sticky encounter didn't need to be as toyetic, and a really fun and interesting encounter that the players would NEED to investigate didn't need to be all that sticky. Everything is a gear of a different size that turns the whole engine.
Illusory Sensorium thinks that they ran the game "wrong" and I disagree. They used the tools provided by the book and had fun! Mission Accomplished!
But one thing they point out very early on is how they "trusted" the encounters in the book as written. The very first one they got is quite simple: 54 skeletons in a conga line, labeled like playing cards.
Incredibly toyetic, not sticky. But the players immediately joined in!
They could have moved on, but that situation was too tantalizing to skip. The rest of the game unfolded from that first encounter, and was filled with shenanigans. The work we put in—hand crafted encounters—worked out!
I'm incredibly proud of the work everyone on the team put into Barkeep, from the writers, artists, and fellow editors. I'm especially proud that people are playing the adventure and having fun. People playing the stuff you've worked on and made is the best feeling as a creator.
Thanks for reading. There's a lot of links in this thread, because I love tracing the history of things. It's no surprise that blogs are the home for so many of these ideas—word of mouth and common practice are easily lost forever when not documented!
The bloggies, a celebration of rpg blogs, are happening now! I've got a post in the running, and I'd love it if you voted for it. My competition is FIERCE (and I recommend all the nominated posts as reading material!)
Vote for RANSACKING THE ROOM today!

WIP Whenever
Tagged by @youthroad Thank you🥰🖤
Tagging: If you’re seeing this and have any kind of wip(not limited to drawings), feel free to join in!
Tumblr media
I've been working on this piece for over two weeks now, and honestly, my concentration has pretty much vanished...😇 (I'm really eager to start on something new!)
I'm planning to finalize the line art by creating a new layer tomorrow.
⬇️So, from here it's like a diary.⬇️
Since last year, my challenge has been to finish my drawings more quickly.
Personal blogs and YouTube suggest that skipping the line drawing phase is a trick to speed up the process. I agree with that opinion. However, I absolutely love drawing line art...
Over these two weeks, I've experimented with various brushes and explored different coloring techniques to match. But none of them ended up suiting my taste🫠
In the end, I decided to stick with my usual method of drawing line art. “What was the point of the last two weeks?🤪” I wonder. But I guess I'll take it as having learned something important...
"Practice does make perfect"
(Maybe I should use this quote of his as my blog title...)

I drew pomni, Jax, and ragitha (don’t know if I spelled her name right) and loved how they turned out. I’ll try drawing them digitally as soon as my quince passes by and will try to draw the rest of the characters plus my own TADC character. Also speaking of oc ⬇️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I redrew my oc which was my profile pic and I will use these whenever Halloween or Christmas is near (like rn). ✨I loved how my sketches and my oc turned out it looks so lovely and I promise I’ll draw the rest of the characters soon✨. Bye bye 🫶.

who are your biggest artistic influences my furry friend? we had art classes together for years but i still feel like i don’t know 😭
😭😭😭 honestly thats probably cus a lot of my artistic influences are specifically internet artists that ive been following for several years and not things i couldve brought up in art class. you know that lame ass mr smith wouldve hated me if i said 'yeah i draw like this cus of some bts fanart girlie on twitter'. thankfully i have the Archivist's Temperament and save like literally everything thats had an effect on my style... so below is a journey thru my artistic influences (and various insp folders on my computer) as far as i can remember
of course the most basal Dorian Influence is disney movies. you are my brother in arms in the lion king fandom so you know this. whenever i am feeling extremely artistically bankrupt i try to revitalize myself by rewatching the lion king, atlantis, and treasure planet. and also the prince of egypt but thats dreamworks LOL
in 2016 i found the first "online" artists i distinctly remember wanting to imitate, which were sara kipin and celia lowenthal because i was obsessed with how they used color to block out their illustrations. ive also been following dimetrodone(/dimetrodrawn/deinocheirus) on here since 2016 and love all the shapes and colors in her work
in 2017 i started doing more detailed shading because i saw bts fanart by the artist tyu_naxx on twitter and loved how they did it (below is like THE piece that made me change my whole shit up)
Tumblr media
around then is also when i started trending towards using limited palettes and that was mostly inspired by various national parks promo artworks that would only have like 5 colors in them. wish i remembered who made these but heres ancient scans of some postcards i got at sequoia national park that changed me
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in early 2019 i started wanting my style to be more cartoony so i would constantly peruse the backlogs of kiwi, officialspec, skunkes and mimiadraws to get whatever inspiration i could from them
in late 2019 i completely pivoted for some reason and started doing lineless rendered semirealistic stuff instead. i think that was mostly cus i hated doing lineart. one of my biggest inspirations in that era was atissi
in 2020 i remember i went crazy stupid on using glow effects and chromatic aberration on stuff and i genuinely think all of it can be traced to this ONE piece of bts fanart by lordizxy on twitter like i was fully obsessed (putting it below also in case it gets deleted somehow)
Tumblr media
mid 2021 was when i got tired of semirealism and thought it was too amorphous and restricting so i went back to cartoony shit. i was still looking at the artists i listed for early 2019 but i also added artists like iplidl, catmunches, and chunkysoup22 to the mix
2022 was an inspirationless nightmare i have no clue what i was doing for that entire year. the artblock was BAD. i mostly just looked at art from all the artists i mentioned before while artistically wandering in circles. a lot of this was me trying and failing to figure out whether i wanted to do more dynamic yet less rendered art or... the opposite of that
thankfully in 2023 i finally FIGURED THAT SHIT OUT. i would say the current dorian art era started with this silly drawing of graydon and riley hivemind as a dogboy and a catboy ⬇️
Tumblr media
you can kinda see the influences of all the cartoonists i listed above but a lot of the way i draw now is just. me trying to not make myself hate doing art. ive always hated redoing a line 30000000 times for clean lineart so now its sketchy. rendering my art was making my drawings feel super stiff so now thats all messy too. etc etc
i think Right Now the artists i go to for inspiration the most are still kiwi and skunkes, but i also found the artist robottoast recently who makes RIDICULOUSLY good furry art, its so full of life and personality and i definitely need to commission them someday. the most recent singular piece thats changed my whole shit up is this scott pilgrim fanart by benadieshekiel (also below) because i really liked how the clothes were fully rendered while the skin and hair are less detailed with clear lineart. so sometimes i do that too
Tumblr media
ok i think that is as full of a chronicle of Dorian Influences that i can give you rn. i was not lying when i said i wanted to yap. hope you enjoy <3

hii this is buddy!!! he’s my best friend!!!
he is a Ty Classic Sheriff the dog plush!
i’m not sure why, but i’m very emotionally attached to this fella!!! i hug him all the time, and he gets to stay on my bed! i hold him whenever i’m able to!!! i even draw photos of him sometimes!!! look ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Tumblr media
buddy is very friendly and polite! he is always willing to lend a helping hand, and he’s always ready to give you a big hug too!!!
i try not to pick favorites, because i don’t want my other plushies to be sad, but honestly buddy is definitely my favorite. i love him so much!!!! he always helps me feel better, even if all i do is think about him. i love him almost as much as i love my real dog!!!
Hi Taavi! And hi Buddy!
First off I wanna say your art of him (and your art in general) is really cute and well made. Second, Buddy is very handsome! What a good boy!
Sometimes we can't help which plushie(s) we get super attatch to, its a really special phenomenon. You can buy a plush you swear up and down is going to be your favorite, or swear you won't have a favorite at all, and then one day you find some random little guy that your brain decides "Thats the one. Thats the one we're going to love the most." It's not bad to have a favorite. Especially when they make you so happy. Your other plushies understand. All of your plushies know you love them, and they love you too, so that's what matters most <3

DOODLE DUMP BECAUSE I HAVE NOT ACTUALLY DRAWN ANY ACTUAL ART PIECES IN A WHILE :D
These ⬇️ were over the span of about a week, and I finished it just a day or 2 ago !!
Tumblr media
I drew these ⬇️ last month in aprilll?? I think?
I kinda just worked on it whenever I didn't have any other inspiration which is why there isn't too much
Tumblr media
I also want to rant about these and the process n stuff a little bit so I am going to :)
Making the first one I started redrawing old stuff from a sketchbook (the person in the pretty dress, person in the sweater), and then I got distracted watching qsmp vods and drew Dapper and Juanaflipa!!
It was the first time I drew them not as eggs (so they might look totally different next time I draw them sorryyy) and it was super fun !!!! Im working on drawing all the qsmp eggs but it's not gonna be done for a bit since I am also not caught up on whats going on
the last stream I saw was a few days after the Brazilian members crashed and now I hear of France?? Idk but I'll prob try to catch up this week and finish the drawing soon :)
Also all the nature !!!! Literally my favorite thing to draw ever. I could just sit by a plant and draw it and never get bored
Sadly there are not many plants near my house so I might just have to go into the woods and look for cool plants to draw this summer heheheee oh nooo if it's the only way I guess... I just have no other option than going into the awesome woods with the nature and no other people and loud music in my headphones 😔 /sar Im so excited ajauvsv
THAT WASNT EVEN ABOUT THE PROJECT SORRY I always get distracted and ramble when talking about art (I am not going to stop doing this though its so fun!!)
Nowww about the project art,
Short version, these little sillies are being included because when I actually start the project in a few years I wanna look back on this and see how my art improved and how the story changed!
LONG VERSION...
"the project" as I've been calling it, is a goal of mine in life to create something emotional and meaningful that matters to people and can maybe help someone feel less alone :)
It is not that right now though ! At the moment it's just an idea since I don't really have the resources or skills to make it the way I would want to, but these sketches and stuff help me keep track of the idea while I get ready to make the thing
I have some papers with project stuff that I might post if anyone seems really interested in the project as it is right now (they are messy and hard to understand so I don't currently plan on uploading them anywhere)but if not I will likely just keep quietly working on it :3 and I'm definitely gonna change up a few things !! Some things on that page may not even make it into the actual project 👁️👁️
That's all I have until I draw more ! :P (also if you read all that you r automatically very cool and nice and you get 🪲 🐛🐜🐞 bugs :) /pos bug s good)
BYEEE :D

wait !! i know ur asleep but once ur awake please talk about ur bloomicsona!!!!!!<3-🫀
hello i am back on tumblr dot com because i cannot sleep till i share my bloomicsona thoughts. ANWAYS.
his username in the server is angelboy !!! his name his dorian and hes gay and trans and autistic and cool. he's iin a relationship with nakedtoaster and his is trying to move in with them in the near future!! he works at a bookstore and kind of loves it but also gets stressed out bc of it. (he hates dealing with people. sorry dorian.) he's probably the closest with june and biglady (he calls them his "cool sisters"). he's usually called dori or darling dorian (the latter is mainly used by toasty, or xyx when hes teasing him) by the other server members. he is a kittyboy. he desperately wants to sleep in late and curl up in bed with toasty and also his best friends (june, biglady, xyx and nightowl. platonically of course.) he also gets along with onion pretty well, they often talk abt classic novels together!!! he can come off as a know it all when it comes to things he enjoys but he just !!! is so passionate and just wants to educate people. he dyes his hair white and is terrified of the ocean. his ideal date is going to one of those like art things where you can paint stuff on pottery with glazes or whatever Or just cuddling up in toasty's lap while they play video games/watch random shows together. he literally only wears big comfy tshirts. hes saving up for top surgery and he is So Scared that whenever he thinks abt it he says "oh my god im going to piss myself." ANYWAYS thats all the thoughts Right Now I HAVE MORE BUT THEY ARE ALL DISCONNECTED IN MY BRAIN

And now for something no one asked for!! While warming up for drawing I got sidetracked listing and explaining my favourite art tricks and cheats. Things that I found made my life a lot easier, and my art better. So now I have a (very quickly and losely made) tutorial (?) of sorts.
So like, if you're in the market for some art advice, then I've got some for you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some explanations of wtf I mean by that down below, but be warned it is LENGTHY
⬇️
1) The triangle trick added SO MUCH new energy and dynamism to my work. Even when I'm not actually drawing using triangles, I'm always looking for the triangles in what I'm working on.
The triangle thing works for two reasons. One is that it encourages the use of more geometric shapes. Some styles are very flowy and round, and some are made of bold straight lines and geometric shapes. I personally feel like practicing in that second family of styles encourages you to make more bold moves. Try new, more extreme poses and angles. Things like that. There's something so striking about the hand made entirely of triangles there.
The other thing is because it's decisive. I find that a lot of the mediocrity in my own art comes from a place kf indecisiveness. I get wishy washy with what I'm doing, not wanting to commit to anything, and revealing that I don't have much of a clear vision to go off of. With this, you have to commit to where you're placing those lines. I've had a bad habit of while sketching going "hmmmmm that doesn't look quite right. Eh, I'll fix it while lining." It means that when I do get to lining I don't quite know where I'm going. I know I need to change something here, but I don't know what, or how, because making decisions like that is something that is supposed to be handled during the sketching process.
The triangles are asymmetrical. They are harsh, and solid. There's no questions about where the triangles are pointing. Also, being made up of straight lines makes it easier to see the motion and flow of the piece. You can SEE the angles being uses, the lines that run parallel to eachother. If enough lines point towards the same spot, or run parallel to eachother, going in the same direction, it naturally draws the eye along that course. Using straight lines to observe that can give you a lot more control over where the viewer's eyes are going, how they're traveling. You can start to wield that with intentionality. That asymmetry and visible direction is what makes for striking, dynamic visuals.
🐙
2) THIS fucking shape saved my damn life. It's just a weird rectangle and panties. It's so simple, a child could draw it. Anyone can draw this shape. And it instantly simplifies posing SO MUCH. The fundamental principles of like, good posing, it's things like contrapposto. It's all about your composition, and most importantly, the orientation of your shoulders and hips. At it's absolute basics, a pose is shoulders and hips + rotation. That's what makes these simple shapes so great. They're versatile, and easy to draw, which also makes them easy to draw in new and exciting configurations. A lot of art textbooks and such will show you posing by two lines, one for the hips, one for the shoulders. And that's the By The Book way of doing it. But I've always struggled with that. I've struggled with putting them the correct distance apart, I've struggled with visualizing what those two lines represent. So I made a visual that accomplishes the exact same thing, but is clearer and easier to understand than your textbook shoulder/hip line set up. We have one shape for the ribcage, which is immutably attached to the shoulders and so show their orientation. And one shape for the hips, which also has a sort of natural form to it, with indications of where thighs should probably go. Really easy to alter for things like different body types, and masculine/feminine forms. They're simple enough shapes that it's easy to mentally rotate them in 3D space. Honestly whenever I'm doing something that's quick, with a straight on angle, like a character ref or something, I'll use the flat shapes exactly how I drew them at the beginning of this part. Yeah that leads to a sort of 🧍 look to it if I don't rotate either piece, but that's totally fine in the context. It frees up my time and mental energy to focus more on the design itself, and the finer elements at play here. Actually, a lot of my tips are about reducing down the time and mental strain it takes to do things.
🐙
3) Perfect example of what I meant by "Reducing time and mental effort" There are endless different ways and styles of drawing eyes. I'd never tell you that my way is better than someone else's. What my way is, is simple. It's three lines that I've drawn so many times that I could replicate it with my eyes closed. It's simple, it's easy, I understand it well enough that I can squash and stretch it and put it into perspective, and it's versatile enough that it can work for different kinds if characters with different kinds of eye shapes.
The point of this part isn't just the shapes themselves though. It's about comfort and practice and simplification. When you find something that is versatile, and comfortable for you to draw, don't be afraid to reuse it constantly. I'd even recommend intentionally developing these "comfortable shapes" for yourself. These shown here are mine. The rectangle+panty way of posing bodies sre comfortable shapes for me. I have spent a lot of time playing with them, and so they are familiar to me. That makes it really easy to mentally rotate them, and makes it easy to alter them for the needs of what I'm working on at any given time. That eye shape I have memorized down to stroke order. I can make eyes of any shape, angle, or emotion with minimal effort by applying this shape. I also have a shape for easy wrinkles in cloth (it's in the circle) while you DO have to put some actual careful thought into your fabric folds, having an easy shape that will appear in most things can take some weight off and give you a starting place. Also if I'm doing something quick or with minimal effort, having a short cut that will simplify down the somewhat arduous task of making the cloth wrinkly is very useful. It's about not making extra work for yourself. You don't have to grind the flour yourself every time you want to make homemade bread, you know? Store bought flour is okay, it doesn't take away from how homemade your bread is. Art is like that too. There's a sort of feeling of shame with shortcuts, but they make the process more enjoyable, and free up your time and attention for the important parts that will actually affect the end quality of your piece. So I recommend making your own little library of "Shortcut Shapes" that you are intimately familiar with. These here are mine, and you are welcome to use them as a jumping off point.
🐙
4) This is the thing about sketching in MS Paint first!!! MS PAINT MY BELOVED 💕💕
This is also about committing, and trying to force myself out of indecision when drawing. Just like what I'm doing with the triangles. Sketching with opacity on pen pressure feels very much like each line is saying "Maybe??" "Maybe it goes here? Or maybe here"
Also, if you chronically have the problem of loving your sketches and hating your line art, this WILL help with that. Using solid, fully opaque lines will close some of the gap between your sketches and your finished lines. When I sketch, I typically open up a big huge canvas on MS Paint, take the smallest pen size, and then get real scribbly with it. Then when lining, I will follow along the middle of every cluster of lines. With the not fully opaque sketches it's much harder to find where exactly you should be placing your final lines. And that's sort of intentional? Using faded lines is specifically putting off making those final decisions about where to place the lines onto your future self when lining. Again, just like with the triangle thing, it's taking the decision making that should be part of your sketching process, and moving it to the lining process.
My insistence on decision making belonging in sketching isn't arbitrary. While in the sketching phase, everything is malleable. You can scrap it all and start over, move whole limbs, and rotate them a little. There's no obligation for it to look good, or neat, or whatever. So that's where you should be making your decisions, because it's still early enough in the process that it won't be too hard to change the entire thing to work better. If you find that this part looks best like this, but that doesn't work right with the rest of the image, you can just change it. Once you've gotten to your line art, that part needs to be reasonably clean. Things like using the selection tool and rotating a whole limb to fit a little better will fuck up your line quality. I'm not saying it's too late to change things, it's never too late. But it's not the best time to change things, and if you're making your decisions during the lining process you're going to have a less well thought out, cohesive final product. I'm guilty of doing that all the time though because I'm a bit indecisive in my art, but this is how it SHOULD be done, and how I try to do things when I can.
Sketching is for the big picture. The composition of the piece. The gestures. The pose, and how that forms thr composition. The big picture stuff, you know? Later stages are for working on the details. Sketching is for the forest, lining is for the trees. At least, that's my philosophy on it.
This is what I attribute my success with pen to. I never used to do my traditional art in ink, until one day I just started doing it. The fact that I couldn't really do soft shading, or erase lines anymore made me be more intentional and decisive with my lines. Switching to ink created an almost instant improvement to my art skills across the board, traditional and digital alike. Switching to doing all of my sketching in MS Paint felt the same way. Using an abundance of thin, opaque lines absolutely accomplishes the same thing as using ink. It's something that must be done intentionally, and it naturally encourages bold, decisive action. MS Paint work is also awesome for art block. I find it's the easiest way to sketch, and that I get the highest quality work out of it. Of course I have these lazy moments where I've done the entire process start to finish in Clip Studio, but when I take a project seriously, I have to start in Paint. It's just how I do my best work.
🐙
5) If you hate how something is coming out because it looks sort of foat and boring, it's because you're not leaving enough to the imagination. Letting things cover up other things will instantly make a bit more interest and add energy. It's hard to cover up things, because you can lose details you like in the process. It was a hard thing for me to accept. But LAYERING things, Stacking them one on top the other, HIDING stuff, just makes for s better piece, I'm sorry. This one was a tough lesson for me to learn, so let me impart it upon you today. If your art keeps looking like 🧍 then you need to start hiding parts. Turn them more, so they aren't directly facing the camera. Don't be afraid to hike their shoulders way up so they cover part of their cheek (shoulders do that) and don't have the entire character in frame. Zoom in, get closer, let parts disappear off screen. It looks more natural and more interesting. This is the "kill your darlings" advice. Kill your feet and elbows. Kill the top of your head. Knock the unnecessary parts out of frame. Also, if all else fails and you still feel like your work is a little bland and tasteless, make use of a lot of diagonals, and try making their expression a little more dramatic. That usually adds a little spice. At least enough that you will hate the look of it less.
🐙
6) This is my answer to the White Void problem. Look at your character. What angle are we looking at them from? What size space are they in? Draw a horizon line. Suddenly we've got a ceiling or floor. You have instantly made the space your character exists in more real, congratulations. It's fast, simple, and easy, and it instantly adds some life to the image. Take a step further and add ceiling or floor tiles. Now you have more texture, AND sneaky perspective lines. You can use those perspective lines to put props and other characters in the scene with less grief, and a more real sense of space. No wonky perspective line business (which is a pain) and no weird floating shit because you lost track of where the floor was. Even just having like, a ceiling that is visible and is a different color from the wall behind them instantly adds some dimension. It's one line, or two blocks of colour, and suddenly it feels like a real space that they are occupying. It's just trapezoids. They aren't hard at all, but they LOOK like you put effort into your background. It's an easy solution to move your character from the white void, into a three dimensional space. Obviously populating that space with scenery and such is better than JUST the trapezoid trick, but this is for when you're struggling to make that jump into 3D space. It's a trick to make the transition easier. It can also just be a good starting place to build your detailed, cluttered scenery onto. Make your tiles floors and ceilings, that's your cardboard box, then populate it with junk, that's your diorama.
🐙
7) You know how I just called guidelines a pain? Take thay back for this. Adding a hairline to my sketches improved my quality of life so much. It makes drawing hair a breeze. It follows the dimension of the head, showing volume. It will orient it in space some. Hair lines. They won't actually show in the end product, but goddamn if they won't make it so much easier to get there. Also, another way that I keep my faces oriented and connected is by attaching the nose to the eyebrows. Even when it's not an actual visible attachment, they point to eachother. Your eyebrows SHOULD flow into your nose some. If they can't, then there's a decent chance that something is fucky about the way the face you drew is oriented. A lot of the things that improved my quality of life art wise were just like, things to keep my oriented. To keep from getting lost in the blankess of the canvas. To connect the things you know, like a a puzzle. If you know where the nose is, or know where the eyebrows are, then you know where the other goes. It's an 'if then' statement.
🐙
8) This is much less actual advice, and more an explanation of how I think while I'm drawing. Like I said just a second ago, I'm using 'if then' statements to keep from getting lost in the blank canvas. It's about establishing landmarks so you know how to get to the next place you're going to. It's like when you know your way home from one part of town, so when lost you try to make your way to that part of town. I know that the eyebrows connect down into the nose. I know that the ear connects to the corner of the jaw, and to the tendons in the neck.
I look at drawing very much like a sudoku puzzle. We start with the known elements, the numbers already on the board. That's the initial vision of what you're trying to draw, or else it's where you started. If you started with the body, posing around those shapes, or if you started with the head, started with the eyes and drew the head around them. Whatever. Whatever your starting point was, wherever it made the most sense for you to start in that moment. Then you start working outwards from there to solve the puzzle. Figuring out the unknown numbers based on the rules that you understand about sudoku. IF this number is here, THEN that means this one goes here.
IF the shoulders are right here, THEN the collar bones would come off of them here. IF the ear is right here, then the jaw comes out here. So on and so forth until you've completed the puzzle. And that's how my entire grasp of anatomy works. If you look at the pose I drew up in example #2 you can even see these lines in place as I used them to figure out how the body was supposed to look. And each of these connections, the if/then statements, I collected each one listed here from various different tutorials, and tips, and my own personal studying from life. I've never found a tutorial that had all of these landmarks mapped out. So that's what I did here. I mapped my landmarks. If sort of wish that someone had explained this to me in this way sooner, but I do sort of appreciate that I had the opportunity to find my own way to make things make sense for myself, find a way that works for my brain and my brain only. But if you struggle with this part too, maybe my landmark method will work for you too.
🐙
Don't take any of this too seriously. I'm not an authority on art, no one really is, but especially not me (I'm not very good lol) So don't take any of this as word of god. This is sort of less of an actual tutorial, and more for my own benefit. I was reflecting on what things I think have improved my art over the past couple years. So I was thinking the hows and whys of those things, and thought I'd share them. Mostly, I was just exploring my own improvement. I've come really far in the past 2-3 years. From not being willing to share any of my work because I didn't like it, to having a small illustration job now. I still have a lot of things to improve upon, but for the first time in my life I'm actually pretty happy with what I'm making. And these are the changes that I've made that got me here. And maybe they would work for you, maybe they wouldn't, but either way, these are the tools that have served me well, and I'm offering them to you. Enjoy

Artist Bio finally
Salutations pookies.
You can call me er...I know my username is K1ng_K1t, but it sounds snobby to be called King so y'all can call me K I guess?
'04 baby
I'm very spontaneous and chaotic. Most of my drawings are impulse drawings that I never planned. I work full time so I try to draw whenever I have time around that and my 6 billion+ other hobbies.
I like Victorian, circus and horror aesthetics. I gobble that up and am trying to draw more of that. Also into philosophy and theology.
I draw characters from my stories/worlds and fandoms (My current hyperfixation is BSD but they change about every 2-3 years. So expect me to spam draw from something else in 2026 🙃) My style is incredibly inconsistent. I'm still figuring how I like to draw.
I am kinda big on reblogging, so if you just want to see my stuff I've sorted them according to these hashtags. ⬇️
all my stuff: #my crap
OC art: #my oc art
BSD art #my bsd art
Hazbin hotel art #my hazbin hotel art
Any other fandom I might draw from will be in some variant of

Introductions!💚💜❤️
Hello everyone! So I’m very new to Tumblr, I’ve never used the app, but I’m very used to just going online and reading fanfics lol. Which is partially why I wanted to start my own account! For fanfics of course! So, this post is just for y’all to get to know me, my boundaries, what fandoms I write for, etc. etc. so, without further a-due, let’s begin!
I don’t feel comfy sharing my IRL name so you can call me Miggy or Migs, those are both nicknames of mine! You can use any pronouns for me! He/him, She/Her, They/Them, It/It’s, I don’t mind!
Some things I’m interested in and like:
FNAF (I’m an old fan if that matters, been watching play-throughs since 2016!)
Sally Face
Photography
Drawing/painting/art
Music (Nine Inch Nails, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me, Pierce The Veil, etc.)
Reality shifting!
Here are my boundaries and rules:
No racism, homophobia, ableism, classism, or negativity of the sorts what so ever! I’m a bisexual autistic person of color
I will not be sharing my age, simply for the fact that it’s no one’s business and I’m not comfortable with it. If you don’t like that, please leave.
You are welcome to DM me and ask to be friends or to talk about shared interests! Just don’t be weird, I am in a relationship!
Here are my rules when it comes to fanfics!:
I take requests! Just scroll further down to see what fandoms and characters I write for!
I will write smut if you request it!
If you request a fic, it will have to be a reader insert bc I’m not rlly good at anything else lol
If you request a fic, pls send me the details! Example: “can you please write a fluff fic about (character’s name) x y/n where they go to the movies and have their first kiss”
For smut, I will not write the following kinks: scat, piss, etc. age play, race play, incest, pedophillia, rape, food play (Idk why it’s just weird for me), and micro macro stuff
I don’t write for character x character ships, I’m sorry I’m just not that great at it!
Themes I will write that could be triggering to some (all fics will start with a trigger warning/content warning) : suicide, self harm, mentions of sexual assault, mentions of past abuse. I have experience with all of these things so I feel that it’s appropriate for me to write about them but only if asked to.
Okay, and last but not least, the list of fandoms I write for, as well as the characters in them that I write for!
FNAF Security Breach⬇️
Freddy (platonic or romantic)
Chica (platonic or romantic)
Roxanne (18+, platonic, romantic)
Monty (18+, platonic, Romantic)
(Possibly Vanessa in the future)
Sundrop (18+, platonic, romantic)
Moondrop (18+ platonic, romantic)
Sally Face⬇️
Larry Johnson (18+, romantic, platonic)
Sal Fisher (18+, romantic, platonic)
Ashley Campbell (Romantic or Platonic)
So yeah! That concludes the introductions! Feel free to go request a fic whenever you want! I’ll write it in my free time and when I feel like writing so it might now be finished ASAP! Love you, have a good day!💚💜❤️
