Twin au anon again, it would be neat if cursed spirit au Shiki was attached to Satoru in an adjacent way to Rika and Yuta, maybe she grows with Satoru and protects him as much as she can, maybe she gives him an additional technique like the one she would have had, I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on this!
As far as the wider clan and the rest of the world is concerned, Gojo Satoru was born on December 7th. This was a truly joyous occasion for the Gojo Clan, the long-awaited birth of a child blessed with both the Six Eyes and Limitless-
Only a select few within the clan were aware that this event had been marred by the birth of a twin sister.
An ill omen, in the jujutsu world. Twins were seen as one singular entity. Neither would reach their full potential if this were not... corrected.
On December 7th, Gojo Satoru was born.
On December 14th, his younger twin was killed.
Muneyoshi was the one who'd committed the despicable deed with his own two hands. It was despicable, but necessary, in order to ensure the Gojo Clan's future. He'd held down the pillow over the infant girl's face and counted One two threefourfive-
...
By the time the infant had finally stopped struggling, Muneyoshi's hands had long grown numb.
... It had been the right thing to do. Muneyoshi had done the right thing. Hisayasu-sama had nodded solemnly when Muneyoshi reported back to him the next day, informing him of the cursed twin's death.
"Well done, Muneyoshi. Your family's sacrifice will be remembered."
There were no grave markers. No incense was burned, and no offerings were made. There could not be any tangible traces of any imperfections tainting the 'honored one.' As far as anyone was concerned, Satoru was Muneyoshi's only child.
Gojo Shiki did not exist. Could not exist.
("Muneyoshi, what did you do?! You monster, you wretched excuse of a husband, give me back my dAuGHTER-!")
...
It had been the right thing to do.
Gojo Satoru grows up brilliant and powerful. He is everything the Gojo Clan could ever have wanted in a clan heir, easily mastering his lessons with effortless grace. In retrospect, Muneyoshi should've become suspicious of this so much sooner, but it hadn't occurred to him at the time. He'd only taken it as a sign that he had done the right thing, severing the weights that would drag Satoru down.
What a fool he'd been.
In the end, Muneyoshi discovers it by complete accident. One night, he wakes up in the dark emptiness of his own room, feeling parched. On his way to fetch himself a glass of water, he notices a light coming from Satoru's room, which gives him pause.
Sleep is important, particularly for growing children. As much as it warms his heart to see his son working so hard to meet the expectations of his clan, it wouldn't do for-
"Yadda yadda ya, who cares about who killed whoever in the Muromachi Period?"
The man pauses his footsteps, frowning in confusion.
That was... Satoru's voice, there was no doubt about it. But why was he talking aloud to himself in the middle of the night, instead of sleeping? That was-
"I guess you have a point, but whatever." A frustrated, explosive breath. "Ha? 'Just go to sleep, if you're not interested in reading?' Hey, why do you think I'm staying up late in the first place? You're always asleep during the day!"
What?
A chill runs down Muneyoshi's spine. He can't sense anyone else in Satoru's room; the boy is sitting alone at his table. Then, who is he... talking to?
"Don't apologize, I know you're a little sleepyhead." Satoru's voice is affectionate, in a manner that's entirely uncharacteristic of him. "I guess it's a good thing that at least one of us is interested in this rubbish, so we can at least get lessons over with quickly. Counting on you for the next test, Shiki!"
Muneyoshi, only a half-step from opening the door to his son's room and demanding answers, freezes entirely.
That name. The name that's never been spoken aloud in this house, or in the Gojo Clan, the name that Satoru should not know-
Oh gods.
Oh dear gods, please don't let this be true. Please let this all just be a fevered nightmare. The implications otherwise...
(Is this the retribution for the sin of murdering his own daughter?)
Horror seizes Muneyoshi's throat in a tight grip at the thought, heavy and suffocating. His hand as it rests on the thin doorframe separating him from his children trembles viciously with dread terror.
... He doesn't have the courage to open it.

The Diary of Cardinal Terzo Two
Tumblr media
Cardinal Terzo x Assorted Characters | NSFW | AO3 | Intro
Based on this funny little article we start to read about some of Terzo's creampie adventures in his diary. I am still accepting prompts for this so just let me know!
disclaimer I know this is the farthest thing from safe sex but let’s pretend in this universe there is a special secret satanic sti and pregnancy protection just for fun
Tumblr media
09/01 Most would not think there would be much opportunity to sin in a library but to them I would say they are clearly not dedicated to sin. But no one could accuse me of that. The sweet little Sister had been so obliging, helping me find the text I required. I admired her as she stretched for the shelf, her small stature hindering her even on the top of the ladder. Perhaps I should have offered my assistance but why deprive myself of such a pleasant view? Her tailored habit fit her perfectly and I wanted to feel her perfect curves for myself. 'Is there anything else I can help you with, Cardinal?' She looked up at me through her lashes, a coy smile pulling at her mouth and what man of Satan would I be if I didn't take that offer? In no time at all I had my fingers buried inside her as I kissed her to capture her mewls and moans of pleasure. 'Tsk Sister you must be quiet. This is a library!' I couldn't help but tease her. She shut me up quick enough though pulling me in by my grucifix and informing me it was time to fuck her. My little librarian being so commanding I obeyed of course unbuttoning my cassock and sinking into her tight wet cunt. From then on I have to admit I was much less concerned about the rules of the library! Creampie count: 11

17/02 It had started with a sniffle, just the occasional sneeze and a runny nose but before I knew it I was coughing at every turn, with a pounding head and a sore throat. I was suffering, to put it mildly. I hate being sick. It is wretched and horrible but especially bad when there is no kind caring sibling to warm your bed and soothe the aches of a fever. No one cares for my plight though it is very disappointing. Well all except Sibling Rika, they hadn't been warming my bed much to my disappointment although their reasoning was fair, much as I would be loath to admit it. But they had been bringing me food between their duties and redirecting some of the most annoying members of the clergy. Today I felt the worst I had felt so far even turning down the proposition of the Brother who visited this morning. Word had gotten around of my undertaking and the residents of the Abbey had been more than willing to help but this illness was sure to set me back. At least I thought until Rika came to visit this evening carrying a cloche covered tray. 'What is this?' I asked. 'Take a look yourself,' they smirked. I lifted the lid and was met with mountains of whipped cream in a pastry case.' A cream pie so you don't go off track.' I laughed until I couldn't anymore! It was a creampie. Technically. Creampie count: 87ish
Tumblr media
27/03 Our eyes had met over and over again as the evening progressed. They watched so attentively but seemed too nervous to approach my companions and myself. My cassock was half undone already, hands caressing my exposed chest. So many kisses had been exchanged our paints were smudged beyond recognition but it was almost the time of night where the only concern was pleasure. I had already slipped my hand into a sibling's underwear teasing and stroking but they alone could not hold my attention. Not when I could feel those shy eyes burning into me from across the room. I locked eyes with her and she started as though I had called out to her. I crooked my finger at her and she paused before making her way across the room. Keeping my eyes locked on hers she somehow knew I wanted her to drop to her knees as she got closer, crawling the final distance until she is right where I wanted her, between my legs. Without a word and without looking away she unbuttoned the rest of my cassock until my hard cock was freed and all her hesitance disappeared as she swallowed me down. Everything narrowed to just her mouth on my cock, her agile tongue twisting as she sunk down my length. It wasn't long until I was spilling down her throat the first of many creampies that night!  Creampie count: 162
Tumblr media
29/03 This Sister was most vexing. She took the 'sin' part of 'Sister of Sin' very literally and applied to everything she could. Sleeping during sermons, sneaking food from the kitchens and shirking her duties. As Cardinal it was my responsibility to discipline her for her transgressions. Discipline was usually my brother's forte, the miserable stronzo but even he had failed with this Sister. So I had called her to my office this afternoon not expecting to make much progress but she took to her punishment better than I expected.S he watched attentively as I showed her what she couldn't have until she behaved. The red wet head of my cock the only thing visible as I jerked from behind my desk. I watched as she squeezed her thighs together knowing that all she needed was to get out some frustration. I could see it building in her eyes as I got closer and closer to cumming and I couldn't tell who was going to break first. Until she moved, jumping up from the seat I had instructed her to stay in and ending up in my lap. Before I could react she was wrapping her hand around my cock and her firm grip was all I needed to make me cum in her hand. She smirked at me, sucking my spend from her fingers as she sank down my still hard cock gluttonous for even more.  Creampie count: 165

knowing that rena was diagnosed with ptsd because of the trauma of her parents' divorce, i think it's a fair assumption to make that satoko's ptsd started with her mother's multiple relationships with men and constant remarrying. this already disrupted her sense of self and identity. the abuse and ostracization by the community against her for being a houjou amplified the symptoms and hinamizawa syndrome worsened the effects (which led to her pushing her parents off the cliff, rip), and then her ptsd was hyper-intensified to c-ptsd levels by her aunt and uncle's abuse and the loss of her brother.
when satoko was 'cured' of the virus, i think to rika it was as though the root of her trauma was 'cured'. rika always desperately wanted to save satoko from her trauma, her abuse, her uncle, her aunt, the virus. this is why once satoko was out of those, she believed that as long as satoko remained with her she should be safe.
it's why she can easily not notice the way satoko is suffering at st. lucia. for rika, this is a place Without All The Suffering that was present in hinamizawa, it's a place for a new future, and a new start. this makes rika underestimate the potential of the pain it can cause for satoko.
in rika's mind, there's no longer anything she needs to "save" satoko from in st. lucia, because none of the stressors and factors in hinamizawa that were responsible for satoko's torment are supposedly present here and there's also nothing rika herself needs to be "saved" from.
(because satoko's suffering has always been the certain reality that rika will also suffer, as the rare fragments where teppei comes back and takes satoko away are the worst of worst fragments for rika. she loves her too much so she sees their suffering as one. satoko's abuse was also rika's pain. one of rika's flaws is that as a victim and survivor she always centers herself and her own pain, even when it concerns others. this isn't necessarily a bad thing because at some points you do need to prioritize your well-being over everything else, but rika doesn't realize how far she takes it sometimes).
another part of it is rika conflating everything about satoko's trauma and mental illness with hinamizawa syndrome. there's a critique of the original here. hinamizawa syndrome in the original is a "mental illness/circumstances that lead to a tragedy" allegory, and it works for what it's intended for, but it's also a double edged sword - many people ended up using it to deny the characters' complicity in their crimes. "oh it was all the syndrome" and they ignored the fact that it's a metaphor. the characters being forgiven after committing murders wasn't because they were mind controlled by a disease. it's symbolic of being forgiven for the circumstances that led to this tragedy - an acknowledgement of that. the characters still have an internal logic unique to them informed by their experiences and struggles even when they're infected with it.
ryukishi explains it better than i ever could here:
Tumblr media
so it's interesting that gou satokowashi starts with 'curing' it for satoko - satoko is 'cured' of the mental illness allegory. it's taking this allegory to its natural conclusion.
you can even see the flaws of having such a plot device in satoko's reception. some people refuse to try to understand her or sympathize with her because unlike rena or shion or takano etc etc she doesn't have the syndrome. she's lost that card that made it very easy for some to forgive what other characters did in the original.
and rika - being the character in gousotsu who's a mirror for the viewer and their expectations - dismisses what satoko is saying to her in the watanagashi ritual scene even though it's satoko opening up about her deepest pains and traumas, and she's even saying things about the future and previous loops she shouldn't know about unless she's also a looper. rika would rather purposefully look away from all this than acknowledge a reality where satoko could be involved in something like this. a reality where satoko could be this vicious and unforgiving.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and even as far back as their time in st. lucia, rika was ignoring The Signs because satoko no longer had the syndrome or was in that environment. "it's just a foul mood" she said. this means she must be fine, right? wrong. she's absolutely not lmao.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it feels to me like ryukishi's admittance of the flaws in hinamizawa syndrome as a narrative device. it's an admittance that those characters are still mentally ill without it.
you can't just blame the mental illness as some unseen demon or curse or magical virus that takes your loved ones and makes them do bad things but also - as a possible extension of that metaphor - they want to pretend that if they got victims out of that situation that made them paranoid, they would never 'snap' and become 'unsaveably' mentally ill and kill people.
there's also this desperation from rika to get away from hinamizawa and everything that entails. it's why she's proactive in getting kimiyoshi and oryou to 'end the dam war' and 'forgive satoko' even though it's just everyone collectively deciding to go "all's well that ends well" without taking into consideration the ramifications all the shunning might've had on satoko. she's not even afforded an apology. it's like sweeping everything under a rug and rika is complicit in that. rika prefers to tap into the Savior Complex than admit she victimized and was powerless to save satoko from some things even if she managed to stop some others things. she's like utena. duelist rika.
i'm pretty confident in this read because ryukishi lampshades hinamizawa syndrome in umineko which lets go of this narrative device. lambda making fun of battler's theories by going "are you going to speculate about how there's a virus called rokkenjima syndrome causing massive delusions".
i think he's been considering this for a while.

So...had my blood taken today (very ow) and it just made me wonder
Mint Eye and its strange medical ideas
What exactly do they do to their 'patients' when testing, evaluating and working out if the elixir is effective etc??
I wouldn't be surprised if some got seriously ill
Or maybe worse
Do you think they'd do potentially very dangerous procedures like blood-taking, transfusions etc???
I dread to think what happens in the laboratories of that place
The honest answer is that you don't want to know. If I went into all of the gory details, you wouldn't be able to stomach it. What I mean by that is that there is canonically a lot of experimentation going on with the elixir and the effects on has on people. You can assume that to be the case because the Elixir is never the same once.
It has a lot of different ingredients and those ingredients don't always have the same increments in the chemical process. There might be a batch that has one kind of mushroom and then the next batch might overcompensate with a different herb. The game doesn't tell us what is used in the elixir, but the Secret Ending mentions some of what the hospital found to be used in the batches that were found.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Taking that information into account, it was a process of trial and error for her to figure out what was going to be the most useful in building something that could corrupt somebody's mind in between the process of cleansing and mental manipulation.
In Another Story, Saeran is one of the first people to have the elixir used on him, and he himself is a test subject in that regard.
They have no idea what is going to happen to somebody that uses the elixir in the long term. They need to have test subjects because you can't just throw something like this at the wall. No way. Not if you're trying to make sure the people live after they take it. The key point is making sure that believers survive the elixir and you don't know what is and isn't safe until you test it.
They're not testing it for safety, they are testing it to figure out what is just the most that they can use on somebody before it's too much. I should also point out that the average believer isn't taking as much elixir, as say, Ray, Saeran, or Unknown. The reason why they take so much of it is because Rika is trying to keep a lid on them. But, for a believer that is just average? They're not drinking an elixir that often in Mint Eye.
They're taking it bi-weekly, at least, that's how I write it. Because I personally believe the only time the Believers actually consume Elixir is during religious ceremonies. Since Mint Eye is based on her bad experience with Catholicism, I imagine that Rika holds services on Wednesdays and Sundays.
The elixir is given out like communion wafers and wine. They take a small sip of elixir twice a week. However, if you are going through the initiation ceremony or you are being cleansed, you are consistently being tortured non-stop with a bottle of elixir. Now, what does that mean for the basement test subjects? Well, that's quite simple when it comes down to it.
Test subjects are believers that have gone against the group to the point where she doesn't intend on letting them get out so they can be used up until they die. I also imagine if anybody had the misfortune of stumbling onto Mint Eye through a trip through the mountains and was at the wrong place at the wrong time, they’re kidnapped into the basement for elixir testing.
Now, testing is a broad category that I can't exactly get into because there is a lot of work that would go into that, but I can say that it's uncomfortable and not something that you should mess with inside your head if you want to stay sane.
The point is, you should never know what it's like to be a test subject, because you don't want to end up down there. The elixir is what she's focused on getting tested. What that means is... different depending on how you want to imagine Mint Eye. It could mean taking a lot of a person's blood, a huge surgery, or drug trials. There's really no way to know.

I saw a post telling that kenjaku was choosing the right moment to take over geto, but a question arises with this, why did they wait so long if they could've just taken him post breakdown and changing sides? One thing which we should remember is that kenjaku cares about the advantage they obtain not the person who holds it, and this led to a series of thoughts:
1) Earlier we see noritoshi kamo(the older one) had the knowledge to produce what one would assume half cursed spirits half humans, hence the abortion and the birth of the death painting womb and that essentially is a way to obtain powerful curses on their side even if they weren't completely a curse they still had a motive to be against the jujutsu sorcerers.
2)If we continue on that trail of thought, kenjaku must have taken an advantage of the knowledge they obtained previously, to take over the body of yuuji's mom for bringing yuuji into the world a half curse half human and also a vessel powerful enough to contain sukuna somewhat (atleast what we see till now), that way he once again makes a chance for himself to contain a powerful curse on their side, no less someone who is the king of curses.
3)Going on this timeline, the next one on the list is geto, now geto is a marvel of this era that kenjaku would love to gain, now I've read takes saying he was observing geto to take him over once completely breaks down, which is a pretty logical reasoning, but why didn't kenjaku immediately do that? To me the answer for that is geto's plan to obtain Rika. If you go back all the way up and read the highlighted sentence, the wait to obtain geto makes perfect sense because they would've directly gained the queen of curses, but the plan failed and while they didn't get Rika, they once again obtained a way to obtain curses and another thing that ill come back to later on.
4)Now that yuuji was old enough to enroll to jujutsu tech, it shouldn't be a surprise for anyone to think that kenjaku planted a curse that couldn't have been defeated without him consuming sukuna's finger, because kenjaku's observation also includes the fact that he knew that people from the jujutsu tech would check upon the way too old stevenson's screen, Now one would question the curse that almost killed megumi as a result of that as well, to which my answer would be if you observe-megumi's shikigami did defeat the previous curses, so why is it that this curse is way more powerful than the previous ones and comes later into the fight, and another thing that was so well orchestrated was that yuuji attending a school in Sendai, which is nearer to Tokyo than to Kyoto, meant that kenjaku already knew if something like this were to occur gojo would come into check and the conservatives won't get their hand on this case first, because the one thing he learned from last time observing the yuuta situation, is that gojo will ensure a future for kids like him, and this eases off the job for kenjaku getting fingers directly to yuuji that they couldn't get a hand on and the fingers that they wouldn't feed yuuji are stolen in the tournament arc along with the death painting wombs, once again obtaining a way to power up their side.
5)And then the addition to his variety of side plans was the birth of mahito and getting him on his side and mahito brought another game changer for kenjaku on the table, the ability to change the shape of the souls of humans and control them and amplify their physical capabilities as mindless killing machines, but the problem with that is most of them don't survive it and if they do don't last for long.
6)And then on the night of shibuya, geto's power and past brings out things on the table that worked wonders for kenjaku- being gojo's closed one making it easier for them to seal gojo in the prison realm which is what I said that I would bring up later on in geto's paragraph, and then using geto's powers to absorb mahito as his abilities are too useful for him to give up.
And as you observe these events a sequence of different concepts that is:                                          getting the knowledge of birthing half humans half cursed spirits -> getting the powers to absorb curses -> absorbing a curse that knows how to morph humans into something more curselike.
》》 Which makes me think that what if kenjaku is trying to convert everyone into powerful cursed spirits, with yuuji and okkotsu along with other powerful sorcerers in the games made for only the strongest to survive, gojos birth which brought imbalance to the world and hence the curses tried getting stronger and him trapped is making them both stronger and noone powerful enough to balance that out, mahitos ability to manipulate and his very origin being from human beings and them collecting so many curses when you combine those two out there's a very good possibility that kenjaku's trying to turn humans into cursed spirits that they still would have control over, while wiping out the jujutsu sorcerers who would hinder in their plan,it's safe to say that Kenjaku is planning an instrumentality project bringing an artificial evolution.
》》 What impresses me more was the patience for waiting to an era where they have a vessel for sukuna to summon the king of curses, existence of the queen of curses, the knowledge of the death womb painting, birth of  a curse being able to manipulate souls of humans, birth of a sorcerer that made curses get more powerful because of the imbalance, all of them as resources and what brings all of them together is an instrument that was geto suguru and his cursed technique.
《 The amount of intricacy that went down in kenjaku's planning is what makes them such an amazing antagonist of the series, they challenge the concept of existence and change itself, forcing an evolution of their own to create a utopia of their fantasies. 》

Results for Japanese Nationals 2022 Women
Credit for this chart to @skatejapanews
I really wonder who they select for the 3rd Worlds spot?
Mai and Kaori should be a given looking how incredible Mai presented herself this season and Kaori for her performances at Nationals and also result wise her GP was fair enough.
If you look at those who competed at the GP series and their results today...I wonder what the main selection criteria is now that none of them placed on the podium?
Mana Kawabe 9th ( 🥉 and 6th place GP series, possibly a 3A)
Rika Kihira 11th (4th and 5th place GP series)
Rinka Watanabe 12th (🥇 and 5th in the GP series, GPF 4th place)
Rino Matsuike 13th (7th, she is struggling with illness so I don't think she is in contention)
Rion Sumiyoshi 14th (2x 🥉 medals at the GP, has a 4T even if not as stable)
Then age eligible would also be Hana Yoshida who placed 5th at Nationals and qualified for the JGPF where she placed 6th. But she wasn't doing as good in the final...and has no senior experience...
EDIT: Mone Chiba placed 5th at Nationals and would also be age eligible. But same problem as Hana Yoshida perfoms in juniors and has no senior experience.
I wouldn't want to select that...my personal preference would be Rika Kihira, but she still hasn't gone back to her full content...but scoring wise she definitely would have the highest possibility for an upgrade if she recovers more.

Jellicent floats over to check on Rika, warbling quietly as he sinks down beside her and reaches out in a question to check her over, and offer a Recover. (for the mansion incident)
Tumblr media
She’s muttering in Paldean when he approaches, but hearing those familiar warbles, she looks up with a soft gasp of surprise, hurriedly wiping tears away as her whole body shook once. She offers her hand out to the giant ghost, a quickly faked smile given, burying the ever encroaching despair.
The could haves
The should haves
What they would have had, had he just given an ounce of care…
Maybe they could have caught Cassandras illness early enough to treat it, Maybe she would still be with them had he just given an OUNCE of care.
Thoughts, quickly buried, as she offers her hand out to Jellicent. “Appreciate it, bud, not sure if Recover can heal these wounds, though…”

Hello! I have a lot of fun researching flower language and thought I'd do an analysis on the flower symbolism throughout the game Mystic Messenger since it's one of my favourite games and I havent seen anyone else point these out.
All throughout Another Story, V talks about daffodils at various moments. For example, theres one part where he talks about daffodils that bloomed in his garden that looked withered. He said that he thought the smaller flowers beside them might be taking energy from the daffodils which is why they looked so withered. He knew if he didnt do something about it, his whole garden would be ruined, but he couldnt decide whether he should just get rid of the daffodils or not, because it seemed unfair. Then after he left Jumin said the daffodils were already dead and V either genuinely didnt know or he was in denial. Even in the opening song for his route the lyrics talk about daffodils: https://youtu.be/e_bTKNImcGM
Since daffodils are the first to bloom in the spring, they're symbols of rebirth and hope. They signify new life and resilience, which seems to tie in a lot with Rika's goals and visions for Mint Eye's future. She talks a lot about how she wants to make a paradise for people who weren't able to fit in or survive in the outside world, to get stronger.
What I found even more interesting, was that in the context of a relationship, daffodils signify unrequited or broken love and are to be given to someone as a form of condolence or a farewell to someone you once loved. What I found interesting about that was how often Rika talked about how unconditional love wasn't the correct way in her eyes, and that you should love someone conditionally so that they can grow stronger.  This is often shown with how she'd try to cleanse Saeran with elixir if he started doubting Mint Eye or did something she didnt like, but then when the drugs kicked in she'd shower him with praise. This also ties in with how Rika had talked about V showing her the wrong love. She says he doesn't know how to love her correctly, which was part of her motivation with Mint Eye, and how she wanted to bring the RFA to Mint Eye to make them stronger and show them the right path.
As for blue roses, which are very prevalent in Saeran's route, they symbolize hope or attaining the impossible, along with beauty.
I feel like this could've had something to do with the fact that Ray often talked about wanting something better but didnt feel like he deserved it. For example, when MC mentions wanting to leave Mint Eye with him because of how terribly hes being treated there. He genuinely believed that Rika was doing what was best and didnt want to betray her. Even if she was manipulating him, from his perspective it seemed like she was showing him love and helping him grow stronger, unlike how he had been treated during his childhood by his mother, and how he thinks Saeyoung abandoned him to escape from their mother.
This part I'm a little bit uncertain about just because it doesnt match quite as well and doesnt have as much significance as the blue roses, much less the daffodils. However, I still had fun researching this and thinking of possible connections so I thought I'd include it anyways. As a little bonus, theres those wilting flowers that Rika showed MC, that she said Ray gave to her before he died - that meaning before he became saeran - the type of flower they are was never actually stated so this is just going off how they look, but I believe they're red geraniums.
Red geraniums symbolize happiness, good health, good wishes, and friendship, and are used to ward off illness. However in the victorian era, they symbolized foolishness or stupidity. Judging based on chatrooms and conversations with Ray, he definetely puts a lot of thought into what flowers he gives someone and doesnt base it purely off of how they look. For example, he said in a phone call that anemone flowers were beautiful but didnt want to give them to MC because the meaning was sad. I believe he could've given these to her knowing both meanings.
The first few meanings could've been about how he wanted to trust her and how she showed him love he hadn't experienced before. Because of the way that Rika worded it, I'm led to believe this was fairly close to when Rika cleansed him and Saeran took over. Meaning Ray wouldve started doubting Rika a bit more and realizing she was manipulating him, so I feel like the foolishness or stupidity could've had to do with that. It was possibly either him calling her stupid, or calling himself stupid because he wants to trust her but doesnt.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my little rant!  It's very possible that I'm overthinking it but I enjoy learning about flowers and their meanings so this was a lot of fun for me to write.

You think is hypocrisy if someone hates a creator and the books it has created. Claimig this person is like this because writes this. Encourage others not to buy its stuff. Because the books are bad. Don't give this bad person your money. Yet that same person still reads its books via free pdf or from the library. And makes fanart or fix it fics of the same thing they claim they hate.
Not talking about JKR and Harry Potter by the way.
Eh... I think it kind of depends on how far it goes. Especially in cases where the person hates the books or whatever other things the person creates though, and thinks that no one should pay money for it to support the dissemination of it, but makes sure to get ahold of it themselves because they still like aspects of it... maybe somewhat?
Thing is, people can have some pretty terrible opinions, prejudices, and beliefs, and have those appear in their works, and still write deep, engaging stories with interesting characters that capture reader's imaginations and have a lot of themes and plots that resonate with people. Even books and stories with some bad things in them, or have authors who have done something wrong, can still have some engaging things to say, as much as a lot of people will try to pretend otherwise. The world just ain't divided that neatly into "Good, pure books with only perfect, well-written, inoffensive stories and themes created by authors who are of the highest moral caliber" and "Awful, vile books that are written like crap, that have no appeal to them outside of those that like the awful themes and messages contained within, and that are produced by only the most degenerate creators." That ain't how it works. And you can like some aspects of something, even if other aspects are awful.
Like, I grew up with Cardcaptor Sakura. It was the first anime I watched and the first manga I read, and for the most part, it still holds up! It has gorgeous artwork, a nice, gentle story with great characters that's just very nice and pleasant to read, and even has a really nice queer couple, with Touya/Yukito (still boggles my mind that as a kid, I didn't realize they were together, but then again, I literally didn't know that homosexuality was a thing at that age.)
...it also normalizes pedophelia and teacher/student relations. Like. A lot. One of Sakura's eleven-year-old classmates, Rika, is secretly engaged to her twenty-something elementary school teacher, with her friends aware that she has an older boyfriend (though not who, exactly, it is), and speculating that part of the reason for Rika's maturity might be due to having an older boyfriend. Plus there's the relationship that Touya had with his student-teacher Kaho when he was around 13, and she was... probably in her early twenties? She would've been an adult at least. And of course, the relationship between Sakura's own parents, Fujitaka and Nadeshiko, with Fujitaka being Nadeshiko's student-teacher, and meeting and impregnating her when she was sixteen. Her family do scorn Fujitaka because of that, but then eventually accept him years later due to both Sakura's efforts, and Nadeshiko's happiness the whole time she was with him.
I still think it's worth reading and has a lot of good stuff in it, but I wouldn't hand it to anyone in the actual target audience because of the dangers of normalizing these kinds of relationships for someone who's still learning what typical relationships should look like, I'd save it for a teen at least, someone who I was confident would recognize what sorts of lessons and themes should be taken to heart, and which are bad ideas.
And hell, as much as I hate and loathe saltfics and feel physically ill seeing them, I'm not going to say that everything in them is terrible with no appeal. A lot of them ARE decently written and have cool stuff inside, so long as you're willing to accept the premises that Adrien's a spineless doormat and a sexual harasser and deserves for Marinette to hurt him, or that Alya's violent, cruel, and stupid and hasn't accomplished anything by her own merits, and deserves to be blacklisted from journalism.
But like, when I first started in the ML fandom, I still read some of this stuff, even though I didn't believe it or like those aspects. I was really into this one fic (yes I know where it is, no, please don't link it, I can't stand the sight of it now), where Marinette got hit with an akuma that made "Marinette" vanish, leaving only Ladybug, with only the memories of being Ladybug, and everyone else panicking because they don't know where Marinette went, and also trying to figure out why Ladybug's acting so strangely. That's a really cool idea and I loved that, I just really wish that Chameleon salt wasn't involved in it.
So I don't think that liking things that you think have some bad things in them, or where the creators have beliefs you think are immoral, is hypocritical or wrong. It's part of critical thinking to be able to recognize what aspects of something are good and should be cherished, and which aspects are bad and should be discarded - and which things you'd normally think of as bad have a greater purpose within the context of the work that actually adds value to it.
I do think that Tumblr often goes way, WAY overboard in its condemnation though, which ends up hurting the authors and stories that at least TRY to be inclusive, but do so questionably in some aspects, moreso than ones that are blatantly bigoted. The people who are attracted to works that at least attempt to be inclusive and fair end up attracting people who are looking for that kind of thing, and then end up being held to impossible and often contradictory standards, with the people who like at least some aspects of them then taking any perceived fault as an excuse to eviscerate the author, the story, and just try to direct as many hateful comments at them as possible, sometimes even directly if they know the author's social media, and try to hurt them in some divine Crusade, almost. While the people who write the really, blatantly, purposely bigoted stuff ironically end up with fewer and less extreme accusations and hateful comments directed at them, since generally the groups that would be attracted to those works are far less exacting.
Personally, it takes a LOT to piss me off. I may not like some aspects of something, but in order to really get me riled up, it's gonna have to be very blatant, extreme, and unavoidable within whatever community I'm in, for a long time. I can shrug off most things so long as they don't seem to be intentionally malicious, or if I can reasonably avoid having contact with it.

Speaking more generally, I find it really fascinating how Ryukishi is always going back and re-examining his own ideas, as well as making use of different mediums to make adjustments/refinements? There’s so much beauty in Higurashi’s almost perfect way of tackling its own themes about forgiveness, friendship, mental illness and scapegoating. But the truth is that it’s still imperfect and because he wasn’t completely satisfied with it that Gou/Sotsu and Gou/Meguri were made to fill in the gaps and tie all the loose ends such as how certain characters were still in the role of “villain” by the end and could be perceived as having been scapegoated by the narrative, as well as how a huge chunk of Satoko’s issues and the codependent nature of her relationship with Rika remained unresolved. Umineko also puts into question the viewpoint advanced by Higurashi about how one should always reach out to and communicate with friends when faced with what may seem an inevitable tragedy by having a culprit with barely anyone they can call a friend, and while the original episode 8 asserts that it’s better for the catbox to remain closed, the manga adaptation of it was made because upon reflection he realized it’s about time he opened it so it’s all about that and its implications on the characters and themes

yuuta for the ask game
this is awesome i also havent talked about yuuta in a while omg :D
favorite thing about them:
ive said it before. ill say it again. if you give me a plot about a character learning that they deserve to live im gonna love it. please and thank you. and with yuuta it goes SO FUCKING HARD...honestly also his continued devotion to rika is genuinely like really fun, he loves his monster wife as he fucking should
i also think that his cursed technique is really really cool and kinda wish we could see more of it!!! OH ALSO I FORGOR THAT WE SAW HIS DOMAIN EXPANSION RECENTLY ACTUALLY THAT DID GO REALLY HARD
i havent been keeping up super actively with jjk but i think this is understandable
least favorite thing about them:
idk if ive thought deeply enough about yuuta in a while to really have a least favorite thing about him? and like anything i say about how yuuta is currently present in the series is sort of colored by. yk. the way the manga is right now. which all in all is not. my favorite. anyways if i think of anything else maybe ill rb this with an addition lol
favorite line:
relating to the first question actually:
I want the confidence to feel like it's ok to live.
IT HIT SO HARD THE FIRST TIME AND IT HITS SO HARD EVERY TIME!!!!!! i remember tearing up the first time i went to go see jjk0 in theaters at this scene like. it was so good
brOTP:
I LOVE PLATONIC YUUTA AND MAKI!!! honestly i really love yuuta's interactions with the second years as a whole but these two have some really really great moments (first mission, fighting geto, etc)
OTP:
now yall know im an inuokko enjoyer!!! this has not changed!!! and again it needs very little elaboration ive already said a ton on this topic but yuuta being one of the closest people to toge and being able to honestly very quickly see that he's a very caring person is really fun to me :D
also like. i bring this up all the time but the fact that the one non-cursed non-rice ball word we've seen toge say is yuuta's name? like yeah. points. gay people.
nOTP:
id like to say again that im like. not avidly against anything here? like im not a big romantic yuutamaki enjoyer bc i more enjoy their relationship from a platonic lens but no shade to anyone who does like romantic yuutamaki! thats fair as fuck!
only other thing that comes to mind is yuuta and megumi but again thats very much a person opinion and i can see the appeal but its just not for me 👍
random headcanon:
yuuta was is not a morning person for most of his life and almost became one by necessity what with everything at tokyo jujutsu high, but did genuinely grow over time to enjoy waking up early because he likes the quiet he gets in the morning when no one else is awake and moving around
unpopular opinion:
genuinely dont think i can do this one this time around because i dont know what the popular opinions on yuuta are anymore LMAO
song i associate with them:
ame to petra by balloon/keina suda. hands down. everyone go listen to the original or eve's cover of that song and read the english lyrics RIGHT NOW. REALLY GOOD SONG.
favorite picture of them:
ngl i miss gege's old style a bit, look at them...
Tumblr media
AND ALSO AT THE END OF S2 THEY DID HIM JUSTICE HERE

I finally got around to playing V’s forgive after end (dang was it expensive) and I think that although V is definitely not one of my favorites, we get to see the most people happy in his route, so it’s my favorite route. It’s the only route where both V and Saeran get a happy ending.
That's one way to view it, though. I can't say personally that Saeran is happy in that ending but yes, he does make some progress on his emotionally health in a good way. V assuredly gets his happy ending and he deserves that, even though his heart is still heavy, he's looking to get better and that's good.
As of right now, that's the only ending where the boys can reunite alongside the Secret Ending, so we can only pray for Saeran's AE to do well when it comes to that. There's always going to be some trauma and some people not entirely happy in each AE, there's no perfect ending but the fun part about Otome is that it's your opinion which ending feels right to you!
There's no "true ending" except for the one that you pick for yourself.

On the “Insanity.” Defense for RIKA
When it comes to Yoosung V the RFA and Rikas behavior + Yoosung grieving
Rika chose to start Mint eye she chose to start a cult she chose to hurt V and others (Even if Mika told her too she didn’t have to choose to obey.)
And no I don’t pity her because she’s mentally ill Ive been Autistic and had mental illnesses since I was a kid to equate what she did with mental illness and acting like she can’t control it is beyond Abelist
It makes me so livid and uncomfortable when people do that because it just equates mental illness and invisible disability with violence again
And like ok sure Rika had a Truamatic childhood
So did Jumin … Jumin didn’t inflict the same pain on the Choi twins or kill their Mom….
And as for Yoosung yeah sure I get he’s grieving That’s fair but you see how he reacts in the after ending when he finds out what Rika had done
And If Rika and V had different gender roles her abusing him would be taken WAAY MORE seriously
We have a bad habit of victim blaming V
When she took his EYES…
But he stayed with her and “Enabled her.”
Yeah because she Constantly Emotionally abuses him as well convincing him he is worthless and deserves what she’s doing to him blaming him for HER abuse
It’s classic gaslighting And there is NO excuse for it. She also gaslights the other characters in Vs route including Yoosung.
The reason she does this to V is to manipulate him into believing nobody will care about him to force him to stay so he can continue to be her personal target.
It isn’t just mental illness and That isn’t an excuse every other character is also traumatized like Seyoung is traumatized because of his Mom but also because RIKA KILLED HIS MoM and ABUsED:Drugged his brother
Jumins childhood was spent being abused by his Mom
V watched His MOTHER BURN ALIVE in front of him while his father all but ignores him.
Zens family Emotionally abuses him for being Albino
Not one of the other characters CHOSE to do what RIKA did.
Not one.
Yoosungs grieving and Truama is caused directly by Rika either with the cult stuff or even when she kidnaps him and others in multiple routes
Honestly she kind of reminds me of some of the Murder cults of the 70s and the people who ran them didn’t get a get out of jail free card due to mental illness and not should they have
Drugging torturing and abusing people is not something mental illness can excuse saying that is Abelism
“But V didn’t help her.”
V was being abused by her anyone who has ever been in that situation knows how easy it is for an abuser to cloud you’re judgment and that’s just what she does with V
It’s not cool or fun or role model or relatable
It’s her CHOOSING to perpetuate that violence
Like it doesn’t help people use diagnosis in real life to get an “insanity plea.” Or excuse violent behavior Thay most other people with the same Invisible Disability or Mentall illness don’t do and It vilifies our communities and causes harm in the real world as a narrative.
It’s not cute and it’s not ok to just use Mental illness as a free excuse or pass as it’s why people equate us with violence when our communities are not violent.

Thoughts on Higurashi Gou Ep22
All of this ‘the culprit’s motives are super shallow and they’re just unhealthily obsessive’ discourse is giving me war flashbacks to . . . . basically every other part of the entire When They Cry franchise, lol.
Thoughts under the cut. [Plus spoilers for Umineko]
I feel like at the end of the day we’re all just gonna have to agree to disagree about how we feel about how Ryukishi is handling Satoko as the culprit here, since I don’t really think any amount of social media posts detailing our interpretations of her character are gonna change anyone’s minds, lol. But I’m still gonna give my thoughts on her anyway because it’s fun, even if I’m basically just preaching to the choir.
To be honest, this feels pretty much in line with how Ryukishi already wrote characters like Takano and Beatrice, in terms of them having unhealthy obsessions that lead them to mass-murder. The amount of violence Satoko has caused is arguably worse than either of them, but they’re all pretty awful if you think about the reality of what they all did as villains.
Sorta like with how a lot of the old-school Umineko discourse went, I think people are too focused on the whole idea of Satoko hating studying, and ignoring everything else about her character and her circumstances. Although even then I feel like people are being kinda unfair toward Satoko about how strongly she feels about academics, but maybe I’m just biased because of my own history with schooling and the intense levels of anxiety and self-hatred that can go along with it.
Plus the fact that Satoko already has a long history of sever abandonment issues, and has basically always had HS that amplified her feelings of paranoia and persecution. It’s pretty obvious at this point that she never really got ‘cured’ in the first place, though it’s less important to think about HS as an in-universe fictional disease with it’s own rules, and more important to just think about it as a representation of real-life mental illnesses which aren’t bound by the rules of made-up brain-worm parasites and aliens or whatever.
Also, the Satoko that started all this looping in the first place was one who never dealt with Teppei returning to the village, and thus never went through her whole character arc related to that. The series is kinda ambiguous about how it handles the idea of people’s character development carrying over between loops, but it explains a lot about Satoko’s attitude here if you go with the idea that she never really had to overcome any of her trauma or coping mechanisms in the “good ending timeline”, and this is the consequence of that taken to it’s logical extreme. The idea of her view of the world being skewed by the fact that she only remembers the “good ending timeline” is also kinda lamp-shaded by the part where she hears about Rika’s looping and is like “oh yeah, that’s the month where we had that cool action movie stand-off with the Mountain Dogs :)”. By the time she really got to understand exactly what was going on beyond the specific timeline she had experienced, she was already way over the edge.
I get why people don’t like the idea of Gou ‘tainting’ the VN’s happy ending, but I honestly like the idea that it’s examining the consequences of how Matsuribayashi was such an overly-specific timeline where basically nothing bad happened and everyone just banded together to beat Takano. It kinda glossed over a lot of the personal problems that the main cast had in the rest of the series, and this really goes to show the effects of some of that stuff not getting properly addressed. It also reminds me that Minagoroshi is a timeline that even in the VN, Rika completely lost her memories of, so I can see how even post-Matsuribayashi she might have never let Satoko know about the details of that one timeline where she overcome her abuse.
I also feel like it only really got to this point because of Featherine’s meddling. In the original Matsuribayashi timeline, Satoko just started drifting away from Rika and ended up wandering into the Saiguden and meeting Featherine before anything actually serious happened in that timeline. I think that if she had just been left to her own devices and that timeline had just kept going, Satoko probably would have either found a way to reconnect with Rika, or they would have just slowly drifted apart for good. But then Satoko got given the power to time travel, and only started going off the deep end after going through another five years of identical suffering.
And on that whole note, it reminds me of how in Umineko, Lambda had a whole conversation about the idea of an abused person becoming an abuser themself if they’re given the power to lash out. Which is basically what’s happening here. Satoko is being given the tools to completely detach herself from reality and try as many times as she likes to get what she wants.
Which also reminds me that this episode in particular REALLY lays the Umineko parallels on thick, lol. Particularly the whole ‘Satoko is turning into Lambda’ thing, which feels just about 100% confirmed now. They straight up have Featherine bring up the exact same ‘monkeys using a typewriter’ analogy to explain Rika’s situation that Lambda uses in Umineko to explain Bern’s situation.
I know a lot of people don’t like the increasingly blatant Umineko tie-ins, and that a lot of people still think it might just be misdirection, but considering how much stuff in Gou has been surprisingly straightforward and predictable, I think it’s pretty much exactly what it seems to be.
Though to be more specific, this is probably more about the start of Lambda and Bern’s relationship, and their appearances in Umineko, rather than the very first origins of them as individuals, if that makes sense. Obviously the concept of Bernkastel as an identity has been around since Higurashi itself, and we’ve known for a long time that Lambda was the one who originally gave Takano her blessing of certainty, but we’ve never known the full details of how those two started their relationship, and Featherine’s whole series of name-drops in the last episode makes it seem like Lambda as a meta individual more or less already exists, with Satoko being an iteration of her. So I think they both technically already exist, but this is how the two of them come into contact and start their whole unhealthily obsessive relationship.
I guess it’s still possible that, even if she’s already existed for a long time as a meta individual, she hasn’t actually come up with the name ‘Lambdadelta’ for herself yet, and this might be where she does so. Even with the list of names Featherine referenced, she didn’t technically bring up Lambda’s name directly. So in that sense this might be ‘Lambda’s’ origin story, even if she already exists.
Considering how basically the entire story at this point seems to be acting in service of setting up the whole LambdaBern relationship dynamic no matter what, I’m becoming increasingly convinced that this will end with Satoko and Rika fully embracing their codependency and mutually ascending to the meta plane so they can stay together once and for all. There might still be human versions of them that stay behind in the real world and continue living normal lives, though.
At the very least, it feels like that’s the logical outcome of the whole Chekov’s Sword Fragment plot device that’s been hanging in the background for ages now. I think it’ll just be the in-universe explanation they use to show the mechanics of how exactly that process works. It’ll probably be used to ‘sever’ Satoko and Rika’s meta consciousnesses from their physical bodies and allow them to basically become witches.
Mainly I just can’t really see this having a ‘happy ending’ at this point, aside from the whole idea that maybe the severing process leaves behind ‘normal’ versions of the two of them who stay in Hinamizawa and go back to their normal lives. I dunno if that’d make people happy, but it’d at least be a way for Ryukishi to have his cake and eat it too, lol.
I just don’t think that there’s any real chance of this ending with them just talking to each other and agreeing to put an end to all this, though. For one thing that’d just feel kinda anticlimactic and honestly make Gou’s story feel even MORE pointless, if it just ends with literally the exact same ending as the VN with nothing really being changed. But I also feel like Featherine wouldn’t be willing to just let Satoko ‘give up’ without having one of them definitively win their current game. In general I just feel like Ryukishi should just commit to the story he’s setting up at this point, instead of just backing out at the last minute and circling everything back to the same ending we already had like nothing in Gou ever happened. If we’re gonna have this whole new story to begin with, it should at least have some lasting consequences.
Anyway, I think in the next episode we’re finally going to loop back to the Damashi arcs and see how they played out. At this point I don’t care too much about getting answers to the ground-level mysteries of those arcs, and I doubt the story will spend much time on that, but I’m curious to see how it progresses Satoko’s whole development through these loops, since I think she goes through some changes with her motives and methods over the course of them.
Specifically I think that the actual experience of being physically present in her own set of loops and causing so much pain and suffering started to get to her, and she might have almost given up in her own way during Tataridamashi and wanted to just stay in that arc, but things went south anyway. Maybe, if that’s what happened, Featherine basically let her know that she won’t let her give up, and will force her to keep looping until one of them ‘wins’ no matter what. Either way, I think that arc was a turning point for her. Like how she asked Featherine to arrange things so that Satoko can make sure that she and Rika’s loops are synced up, she probably asked Featherine after that arc to change the rules again so that Rika will start remembering the details of her deaths. At this point it’s pretty obvious that the Hanyuu fragment Rika was talking to earlier in Gou was more or less just Featherine putting on an act and manipulating her, so the scene of Hanyuu giving her the power to remember her deaths was probably just Featherine telling her about the rule change.
And going by how the Nekodamashi arc went immediately afterward, I think that rule change was related to Satoko becoming increasingly desperate to put an end to the loops as soon as possible. And considering how she was willing to spend so much time reviewing Rika’s hundred years of looping just to prepare for this, it’d make sense to me if she becomes desperate because she basically gives up, but realizes that she isn’t actually allowed to give up, so she has to try and make Rika give in as fast as possible. Either way it’s pretty obvious that Satoko’s methods start becoming more violent in that arc, and she basically tries to brute-force Rika into submission, leading up to the loop where she just spawn-camps her and straight up starts screaming at her to just stay in the village while tearing out her guts. It’s still possible that her attitude in that loop was just one big act, but I think that was the result of her being genuinely desperate to just have Rika give up once and for all, and her starting to crack under the pressure of doing all of these things with her own hands across so many loops.
So now we’ll just have to see how the confrontation between them at the end of Nekodamashi plays out once we get back to it. In the long run I just think it’ll lead to the ending I talked about before, with them using the sword on each other. The exact nuances of how that sorta ending might play out are up in the air, though.
Either way, I think there’s probably enough time to wrap up all that in two more episodes, but there’s still reason to believe that there might be some kind of sequel in the works. I don’t really want to bet on it, though, so I’m just gonna assume that there’s two episodes left and base my theories on that. In which case I think the next episode will go over the Damashi arcs and end with Rika and Satoko’s confrontation at the end of Nekodamashi, and then the final episode will wrap everything up. Considering that they both more or less know exactly what’s going on with each other by that point, there isn’t really that much that needs to be wrapped up. I think that will be the final loop we get, so it’ll all just come down to how their confrontation plays out, and what decision they come to about how to handle each other.
I honestly don’t really know how I think a full sequel would go, if it’s at least one cour long. Assuming that it’s not just a new Umineko anime that more or less continues Rika and Satoko’s arc via Lambda and Bern, but is a straight up ‘Higurashi Gou Season 2′. It just feels like there isn’t really that much that needs to be done to wrap things up, now that everything’s being laid out in the open, and Rika and Satoko are both aware of each other’s looping. They might switch it up so that they both end up teaming up to take down Featherine, but I kinda doubt that’ll happen.
I’m still hoping this is leading into some kind of new Umineko anime though, lol. That feels like it’d be the main reason for putting so much effort into this whole elaborate LambdaBern origin story we’re getting here.
I’ve heard rumors that there’s been listings for a 25th episode of Gou, so it’s possible that rather than another full season, there’s just one extra episode at the end. I’m not exactly sure what the point of doing one extra unannounced episode at the end would be, though. It might end up being a bridge between Gou and a new Umineko anime.
At the very least, if it’s just ‘Satokowashi Part 8′, it makes me wonder why they haven’t announced it yet, and why they didn’t just split that arc into two BD volumes with four episodes each, instead of having it be one big volume with seven episodes, and one random episode at the end for some reason. But if it’s more of an epilogue or a bridge of sorts between Gou and something else, with Gou’s story concluding with episode 24, then I guess it’d make some sense to do it that way.
We also know there’s gonna be a panel for Gou at a convention around when ep24 comes out, so if anything gets announced it’ll probably happen there.
Anyway, this whole episode can be summed up as “Satoko does a gay little psychological torture that pisses Rika off”, in the most morbidly entertaining way possible, lmao.
