The main contrasting difference between idw Optimus and Rodimus is NOT good wartime leader vs. good peacetime leader. Because. Peacetime Rodimus Did. Not. Lead. Rodimus did not know what to do with himself in a post-war society any more than Optimus did. That was like, the whole point of the Lost Light. To get away from everything. Instead of remaining with people like Bumblebee, who at least tried to juggle all the conflicting interests and petty political nuances and endless grievances and intricate diplomacies and pedantic administration and made attempts at channelling all that clusterfuck pressure build-up into something that’s not violence - all responsibilities required of peacetime leadership - Rodimus opted to up and leave to chase after a dream. Because the Lost Light is exactly that: a dream that Rodimus built for himself and all the other souls who were at a loss after the war, a last leap of grasping faith for those who could not come to terms with this is what peace actually looks like. This is what we fought and died for four million years trying to achieve.

Did Rodimus - or any of them for that matter - truly believe that Cyberutopia actually existed? Did no one on that ship ever ask the question “hey if Cyberutopia was such a perfect place then how come it faded into legend? If the Knights of Cyberton were so wise and just then how come they never showed their faces when we tore each other apart for four million years?” No, the Lost Light was basically just a means of fairytale escapism for Rodimus and everyone else who didn’t want to handle living in post-war reality. They didn’t want their voyage to end, ever. And let’s face it, Rodimus’ leadership of the 200-something people on their ship wasn’t exactly a smooth run. He might have good soft skills, sure, but he doesn’t exactly apply them to the best capability; the foundations of his leadership are rooted wayyyyy more in personal charisma than anything else. In terms of the peacetime/wartime leader skillset, Rodimus actually has much more in common with Optimus, who also upped and left after the war ended.

TL;DR: Rodimus is not a good peacetime leader. He was never a peacetime leader. He does not want to be a peacetime leader. What he wants is adventure and adrenaline up amongst the stars with his friends. Rodimus is similar to Optimus in the aspect that both lead by charisma and are lost without war. So if anyone wants to go the "people-oriented peacetime leadership is devalued and doesn't get as much recognization as flashy wartime leadership" route, Rodimus is not the guy you're looking for. Bumblebee is.

however. some cool things (that probably some of you knew abt already, but i did not!):

King Artus – "a 'Hebrew Arthurian Romance of 1279… Judaized and transformed.' yes! That headcanon is a reference to this:

specifically the little text of ‘I got married on may nineteenth, four thousand miles from here.’

I’m not really sure what the rotg team meant by that when they put that there, maybe a reference to Ms. Claus? We don’t ever see a wedding ring that North wears, which makes it interesting.

But, my personal headcanon was that he was married, shortly before he became a spirit. Who he got married to depends on if I want angst or not. Becoming an immortal means leaving behind your love but I am WEAK for the eggnog paring.

So, either a Ms. (Or Mr, we don't know) Claus or Bunny.

#TOOK A WHILE BUT I FINALLY FIGURED THIS ONE OUT!!!#spn #spnart #spn art #mine.caro #trueforms #spn fanart #castiel #okay so. i'd said MONTHS ago (maybe even over a year?) that i saw trueform endverse!cas as being shaped like the flayed skin #that michelangelo painted as a self portrait in the sistine chapel. as an answer to someone asking me if i'd ever do endverse!cas even #anon i hope you're still out there. i finally did it!! but back then i said i only knew that and i had to figure out the rest #bc i saw endverse!cas as being twice fallen. once from angelhood and the other from like. humanity. toppled over to somewhere else #and i couldn't figure out that second fall or how to turn everything about endverse!cas into more Images #and then i thought. i've been doing the fall from angelhood as the change from geometric to 'freestyle'. flowy if you will #what if that second fall is from abstract to figurative. things being more literal and whatnot. and i checked if other trueforms backed #this up. samandriel being tortured does. the vitruvian man on a cross and such. cas in the rapture and the translation glitches #can count for this. so that's what i went with. and so you have the flayed skin as the core. the flowy shapes of a fall angel as a cloud #around it. and bursting from it. piercing through like knives. you have the arms of a basket star #there is the eyehole with the Wanting hands like in my bloody valentine. but just an EYEhole and with less hands. gripping the flayed skin #but the Wants are more in the shape of a basket star here. wide open and static. waiting for whatever falls from the water above them #(google them btw. they're cool. #watched a vid summarizing the granolah arc and literally genuinely what was that #my favorite part was when frieza showed up outta nowhere with a new form he'd cultivated #in a alternate dimension that distorts time in a similar way that the room of space and time does #proceeded to one hit kill the big bad of the week. knock out goku and vegeta for shits and giggles and then dip #hilarious #but it was meant to be totally serious and to show that frieza's totallyyyy a threat again guys for real lets goo round 3 #and that was literally the most interesting part of the arc #Im so mad about the fucking bardock retcon #but not about the hypothetical wish he made. I remember reading somewhere that the English translation of the manga was incorrect #and ik a lot of people argue that the wish he made just retconned the whole message of dragon ball #but thats based on the English version of the manga #also speaking of bardock and retcons related to him Im still livid over the fact that they changed goku's origin story #to be an almost exact ripoff of superman's #and they retconned the start of the saiyan arc with that too #radirz said goku was sent to earth to destroy it as a baby. but now goku was sent to earth on purpose to save his life?#bullshit. for the record i personally think that if i had to learn the difference between miss, mrs, and ms, then anime fans can suck it the FUCK up and learn the four basic honorifics. or at least can you fucking translate them and not just drop them entirely?
