what do you think of the ship cube x blixer?
I don't really mind, don't really care, mostly desensitized to it (and a lot of the ships here, but not in a bad way and more of a: I've seen so much and so varied of them that I guess I'm used to it?? Yeah I think that's it, kinda way)
Like, don't get me wrong, some stuff I've seen of it is cute. That goes with every other ship, but I guess it was like the norm at one point in the fandom and I just became used to seeing it and just walked over it without a care in the world. I know people put a lot of work and lore in the ship, and you know what? That's cool! You do you in your wacky adventures, but some of it it's just not for me and that's okay too
I don't attack anyone for it, no one attacks me, I'm always respectful of other people's headcanons and storied and whatnot. It's not cool to attack people just because they're pretty much existing and drawing stuff they like, they're still people.
With that all said, I don't mind it... What I DO mind is people of said ship trying to mess with me because I am cringe (affectionate) and basically a OCxCanon shipper the whole way
Now, truth be told, the first years was when it was really bad, because it was when the fandom was starting, and everyone was fighting everyone, and there were still a lot of very vocal kids and whatnot. THAT, was stresful-
Nowadays it's all chill, people are way more respectful, and I'm sure some of my audience grew as people and stopped fighting with other people just because of some blue cats. That has lifted a huge weight off my back, yet still, there are some crazy people back there trying to make me either look bad, or want to defend the ship like white knights, which I just walk away from
Friendly reminder that I'm a person who just wants to self-indulge and vent through my works most of the time, and if you don't like my stuff you're more than free to block me, just don't send me death threaths over a ship

I’m not interested in jp historical rpf but in fact I can’t stop thinking about the impact of the onmyoji anime making the title of those episodes ‘who are you thinking of’ and ‘are you lovesick’ (after establishing in-universe that the famous poets who wrote those poems 1. plagiarized a demon’s anonymous poem 2. just sucked absolute shit at poetry and was only good because of aforementioned demon)

You furrowed your brows and raised your free hand to your chin in thought, the other still wrapped comfortably around the mer’s shoulders. What could you do to make him feel better?
“Oh!” You say, trying (and failing) to snap your fingers the way your dad does. The mermaid looks at your fingers quizzically, but you don’t waste time trying to explain. “I know! I’ll make you a pinky promise that I’ll come back and play with you tomorrow, see?”
You hold up your left hand, pinky extended and in perfect pinky-promise form. Your sunshine-colored friend only tilts his head in confusion, though, but at least the fins on his head raise up this time. It made him look bald when they were all flat like that.
“Here,” you say, and you let go of him with your right hand, causing him to squeak in alarm and hold you a bit tighter to keep you both afloat. But you start kicking your legs to help and gently grab his left hand, before carefully bending down all but his pinky finger, and then locking it with yours. He looks totally enamored with your hands as you do it, but definitely seems to relax a bit more once you’re holding on to him again.
You notice he’s got some funky webbing between his fingers, and that instead of nails, they just kind of turn into pointy tips. They aren’t sharp enough to bother you, though, and you take extra care to keep from smushing the webbing.
“Here. This is a pinky promise. It means I have to do what I say no matter what, okay?”
He looks between you and your linked hands, and chirrs in what you take to be a noise of understanding.
You squeeze your fingers together a bit, and bob your hands up and down.
“I pinky promise that I’m gonna come back and play with you tomorrow. And that I won’t tell anybody about your pretty cove. Deal?”
He looks between your hands for a bit longer before he’s satisfied. He bobs his head up and down and chirps at you cheerfully, and you feel a shiver of excitement run down your spine. You can’t keep the wide grin off your face.
