“I know,” Derek said quietly, nuzzling into his neck

“Onward noble steed!” Stiles pointed in several directions before finally choosing one. Derek huffed a little but followed his orders.

So, a while back I had a bit of a weresloth situation that quite a few of my dwarfs took part in. Which is why I separated them into these two burrow rooms depending on whether they were injured after the attack or not. Yeah... apparently poor Solon next to the booze stockpile got hurt shortly before the incident and not by the weresloth so... uhm... he got a really nice slab with his name on it.

On a completely different note, the weresloth sprite looks like it's doing the YMCA dance and I can't get over my village sloths over here.

Had my first df crash on the new version. Wasn't even doing anything funky, so I have no clue what caused it. It was just after a weresloth attack, i was banishing someone who got bit, and also putting in a manager order to make 5 pairs of iron high boots.

Hey! I have a question for world building wenesday! What gave the werefolk their powers (assuming they shapeshift)? And what are their limitations?

Me (and the World Wanderer) have been meaning to go more into these guys, so thanks for asking!

Werefolk are indeed shapeshifters. They resemble humans with patches of extra hair/feathers/scales/wet skin/exoskeleton bits/etc as well as horns, antennae, ears, tails, abdomens, etc. from whatever animal they turn into, plus sometimes some claws, paws, talons, wings, hooves, etc. They can turn into a SUV-sized version of whatever animal they embody once they build up enough latent magical charge.

For limitations… no fully aquatic animals, and once that charge is used up no transforming until it’s built back up. Also, you’re locked with whichever animal you embody as your one transformation option, so if you’re like a weresloth you gotta make the best of that.

Their powers were given to them by the god who created them, who is basically a divine cat. He demands your pets~
