Okok, putting my thoughts here real quick so we have SOME form of legibility on the time line. Everything here is canon, if stated otherwise, ignore that

Streamer Enid au info:

Wenclair are 23-25 smth and they married at 18 right out Nevermore.

Enid or known as Endespair streams horror games to get over her queasiness over gore faster. She's known for being a simp for Wednesday Addams, proudly proclaiming that she is her wife. No one believes her and think she's a stan

She also has some experience being a stunt double and occasional minor actor known by word of mouth as Sin Addams.

Wednesday Addams is an author, director, actor, executive director-basically she's a badass idk what to tell you. Essentially, she's been traveling all over the place and working since she hit 19.

Bc of this, wenclair have been in a ldr bc the have been way too dependent on each other for so long and enid wanted to make sure they could grow as people first before going together.

She also is coming home to Enid the moment she finished writing her final book for a decade or so 'Lycoan Curse' bc she's finally done with projecting/processing all her trauma onto her books.

Wednesday Addams has written a total of six books. First five are known as the Viper series with Viper de la muerte being the Mc and told in first person.

First three is abt Wednesday's life pre Nevermore and the other 3 is the remaining 3 years in Nevermore.

Viper: Hyden truths is literally abt what happened with Tyler in season 1 but glossing over the love triangle. It introduces new characters, like the stunted werewolf roommate Helios

(Enid insisted in the pun in the title.. Also fun fact, if u just say the hel part of helios, it almost sounds like the command 'heel')

Viper: Snake in the grass is abt the stalker teased in the end of Hyden truths. More of Helios' werewolfness/instincts are shown and they grow closer. Viper learns to be more open and Helios showcases more of her culture to Viper. The stalker has made the two more sneakier, making sure to keep close and going through multiple pranks where the two nearly get severely harmed.

(it was around here that people started shipping imperial gold, not really expecting the underlying tension of two roommates taking care of each other's injuries and the intimacy of such actions)

Lunar Ecplise: Lycoan Curse is the first book that skipped the single POV streak Wednesday had. This time, it features a new perspective Helios' and it became a hit. This one was a rather girthy asf book, considering that it was written as either a standalone or a continuation of the Viper series.

It's also the movie/show? Idk tbh, it's still being decided. Its the book being adapted to a film/show that Enid and Wednesday star in.

Nevermore is known as Eden in the book. Despite it's rather heavenly name, it still looks edgy like Nevermore. it's more of an eden for outcasts yknow

I don't even ship Wednesday and Tyler like that, and of course y'all can focus on shipping Wednesday with whomever, but saying that she gave Tyler no signals at all before that scene in episode 4 and that it's completely out of left field...isn't all that true.

I know we're shown things mostly from Wednesday's point of view and she frequently expresses her desire for solitude and not companionship, but let's also remember that 1) she's very obviously unreliable when it comes to her own feelings, so that should be taken with a grain of salt particularly because she disproves it later and 2) she says this to Enid multiple times as well (which I've seen a lot of wenclair shippers conveniently ignore or excuse), despite doing things that suggest the opposite. It's a pattern for Wednesday.

And yeah, "signals" don't inherently mean anything because they depend on context, but nobody communicates objectively. Tyler, like everyone else, draws his conclusions from his point of view. After watching the season once alone and then again with my little sister I'd say that there are at least THREE distinct moments up till then where it would've been reasonable for Tyler to assume Wednesday's interest in him specifically.

The first and second are actually in the first episode, regarding the video call and then the festival. From Tyler's point of view, Wednesday is a girl he just met who does not own a phone and so relies on him to get her to the train station because he has knowledge about the town and also a ride out of it. At this point he's just some random guy. So when Wednesday ends up leaving in the middle of his shift, it would've made sense to assume she'd get help elsewhere and that he wouldn't run into her again any time soon. But then Wednesday sends Thing all the way to his house with her name and a phone number written on his palm just so she could speak to him. That's a lot of effort from someone he just met, even if she would say she's only using him to her own ends. That eventually leads to him giving her the sheriff's file on Gomez, upon which she acknowledges that she "isn't used to people engaging with her" and that he's doing something others don't do with her. She explicitly singles him out and regards him in a way that's different from others. I'm sure both of these things would seem significant to Tyler.

The third is on Outreach Day at the coffee shop where Wednesday asks Tyler about the original Pilgrim meeting house. This might seem insignificant because it looks like Wednesday's just using him for information here, but realistically, going to the Weathervane was completely unnecessary. Sure, the woman leading her group didn't know where it was, but Wednesday was out in the middle of Jericho during an event where townies were out and about everywhere. She could have asked anyone else - possibly even other Nevermore students since they've been there longer than her - and likely would've gotten the same information. She could've even asked Xavier when she got to the shop! It's unlikely that Tyler, a teenage Jericho native, would have special information that other townies wouldn't, but still she sought him out specifically and even said as much when Xavier asked. From Tyler's point of view, why wouldn't that signify interest?

This last one is more subtle so I'd call it an honorable mention but it's actually right before Tyler accuses her of giving mixed signals, just after Wednesday talks with the sheriff at the station. When she sees Tyler, she immediately cautions him to avoid his father. She might just be frustrated with the sheriff, but that doesn't really have anything to do with Tyler directly. However, she does know that the Galpins don't have the greatest relationship (particularly since Tyler was seen arguing with him in public at the festival, he has no problem stealing the file on Gomez, obviously distrusts his father enough to stalk him in the woods, and also sees Kinbott on a regular basis), so letting him know that the sheriff is in "frustrating form" is oddly considerate, especially given that Wednesday isn't known for being so and he knows that. In fact, the only other people to whom we see Wednesday show that kind of unprompted, unconscious consideration by that point are Enid and Eugene. It's not something that happens often, so it's significant.

I wouldn't call these examples romantic per se, and I'm not really defending Tyler in a general sense given what we learn about him, but it's not unreasonable at that point for a guy with a (probable) crush on a girl he's spent some time with to assume that she might return his feelings given the above. In fact, Wednesday doesn't even refute his assumption about her feelings in that conversation like she normally would with Kinbott or Weems. She deflects (like she does with Enid and sometimes Thing) and says she needs to prioritize instead.

It isn't "random" or "bad writing" just because y'all don't like the character or the ship. The groundwork was there since the first episode.

Wednesday Addams arrived at school, her signature black dress and braids perfectly in place. She was greeted by her friends Enid, Yoko, Bianca, and Xavier. They were all excited to see her and asked where she had been.

"Sorry I'm late, I was doing things," Wednesday replied with a mysterious grin.

Enid, who was known for her sharp wit, quipped, "Hi, I'm 'things'.

The group erupted in laughter and cheers as they realized what Enid meant. Wednesday had finally come out as a lesbian and her friends were thrilled to support her. Yoko, who was always the most vocal, shouted "1000 points for Wenclair!" in reference to the ship name for Wednesday and Enid.

Enid was happy for her friend but also a bit reserved. She didn't want to make a big deal out of it and preferred to just enjoy the moment with her friends.

Just as the group was celebrating, Tyler, a notorious flirt, appeared out of nowhere and tried to flirt with Wednesday.

Enid immediately got annoyed and kicked him off, not wanting anyone to ruin the special moment for her and her friends.

The group continued to celebrate and support Wednesday as she embraced her true self. They knew that no matter what, they would always have each other's backs. And as for Tyler, well, he knew better than to mess with the Addams clan.

Wednesday's POV:

Wednesday was not one to show her emotions easily. However, she couldn't help but feel touched by Enid's actions. She appreciated the fact that her lover was willing to stand up for her and protect her from unwanted advances. She also felt a sense of pride knowing that her friends were so supportive of her and enid's sexuality.

As Enid kicked Tyler off, the group erupted in cheers and applause. They were all proud of Enid for standing up for Wednesday and showing Tyler that he was not welcome. Wednesday smiled and gave Enid a small nod of appreciation.

Enid was not one to seek attention or praise. She simply did what she felt was right in the moment, and was happy to see her girlfriend happy. She gave a small shrug and a smile, acknowledging the cheers but not making a big deal out of it.

The group continued to celebrate and support Wednesday and Enid. They knew that they had each other's backs and that was all that mattered. Wednesday felt grateful to have such amazing friends and was excited to see what the future held for her and Enid.

Was just diving around twitter. I really should know better by now. But nonetheless, I was just scrolling when I came across something that is just incredibly wrong.

It turns out the Jenna/Emma shippers are just as bad - if not worse - than the wenclair shippers. You know the ones I’m talking about.

Behaving like they are is the reason why shipping got a bad name. Especially when it’s real people.

Now, I always choose to associate only with respectful, kind and well, sane, people. So when I have and do ship anyone (whether it be fictional or real) it’s always done with love and respect. It’s fun. It makes you feel good. And at the heart of it, it’s enjoying seeing two people in love. And there ain’t nothing wrong with that.

But I’m seeing people trying to “prove” that Jenna and Emma are gay. Not just saying they’d make a cute couple. Not just speculating. No, full blown trying to prove it to make their ship happen. And the tweets were truly disgusting. So much more than just intrusive and inappropriate.

So yeah, my point here is that there’s a right way and a wrong way to do things. And I’m yet to run into a wenvier or Percy/Jenna shipper who has done anything like this. Which to me, is saying a lot while saying very little.

Ship whomever you wish. Just don’t be a creep.

stupid account introduction

hello, i’m sko! i’m posting this out of impulse and boredom - but mainly passion. i’ll just be posting stupid shit about my interests whether that be headcanons, rants, or analysis, or art. as you can tell, i have no life! anyways, i don’t particularly care about traction, as i mentioned before i’ll just be posting out of passion.

but here are my particular interests right now:

main interest! yellowjackets: oh FUCK the brainrot is hitting haaaard rn, i love everything abt this show! and i’m a proud multishipper cuz the characters r just too good.. but everything down to the themes in this show is just so captivating. there is so much to analyze and interpret. lottie forever.

• your turn to die: a friend recently recommended me this game so i finally decided to stop putting it off. little did i know the character depth and stories would captivate me! help!

• wednesday/addams family/wenclair : i have always been an addams family advocate. i initially had a wenclair phase when the show released, but i’ve always loved the addams family! i’m just gay as fuck so ofc i love wenclair.

• DC! : mainly a harley quinn bitch, (i am insufferable) but also the entirety of the bat fam, love those guys.

• bethesda games ; on a starfield grind rn, but i love all bethesda games from doom to fallout.

• literally any other form of wlw media.. like LITERALLY anything you can name. games, shows, movies, books, manga, ships.. i’m just gay.

now I'm curious: what do you know about the Netflix Wednesday show? Do you think it'll be good?

oh my god literally nothing, anon, because all information I've gathered has been absorbed through osmosis. but. I can try to give you the rundown of what (I think) I know.

These two are The Big Ship, right: Wenclair. Clearly the living embodiments of sun and moon gfs. (BTW, love the environmental storytelling with the glass window behind them.)

One on the right is Wednesday Addams. Adams? Pretty sure it's spelled Addams. (Disclaimer: I have also not consumed any Addams(?) family content. I know nothing other than some of their names and that they're family goals; Morticia is the mom, Gomez is the dad, and Wednesday is the youngest(?) kid. She's got an older brother, maybe?)

The girl on the left is Enid I Think. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say her last name is Sinclair or something like it? Because of the ship name? Or her name is just Claire. But I could swear it's Enid. One of those.

Enid is either a werewolf, or that's just a very popular headcanon for her. Honestly not sure.

Wednesday is Not a vampire but she does have Powers because they both go to Magic School??? It's not just a regular school. I think. Maybe they're learning to fight demons? To be demons? Literally no idea.

They're roommates (oh my god they were roommates).

There are also two(?) (at least one) other boys who may instead be The Main Love Interest (I know, boo, boo, tomato). No one is happy about this prospect.

And to answer your second question: It's a Netflix show, so it can really go one of two ways. Either the show is going to be bad and run for five seasons, or it's going to be absolutely phenomenal and get canceled after the first season. I personally haven't decided if I'll watch it yet; gonna wait on the reviews from the people I follow until I make my choice.

HELLO, IVE JUST FINISHED WATCHING WEDNESDAY

because i am the biggest dumbest nerd when it comes to the addams family: ive made a crappy list of why wednesday is everything i hoped for and more and why it is absolutely fucking perfect. spoilers.

im not entirely sure on how to start slow with this one so im getting right fucking into it. enjoy reading the disaster of my thoughts on this masterpiece:

AMAZING CASTING. jenna is incredible as wednesday, catherine and luiz are the perfect morticia and gomez, i adored seeing christina ricci KICKING ASS. gwendoline christie was amazing as weems, fred armisen as fester???? lost my shit he was so perfect. i don’t think there was a single cast member i wasn’t amazed with.

no genuinely i loved all of the nevermore students

fell in love w enid so fast omg i was rooting for her so hard her arc was so awesome (her and ajax are so cute too)

rip rowan you would’ve loved wenclair

THING!!!: its not the addams family without thing, and its especially not the addams family if thing isn’t being a little shit stirrer the whole time. perfect beautiful i love him A++

THE WEDNESDAY/PUGSLEY DYNAMIC WAS SO ON POINT they literally have the actual best sibling dynamic

i now know that you have not lived until you’ve seen wednesday addams stuck in a love triangle. she is not a character that you would expect to have a romantic interest but now in my mind she’s just beautifully a-spec and probably demiromantic. yes obviously i love xavier.

don’t get mad at me but i don’t ship her w enid that much?? at least not romantically but hey i would not complain if we had a polycule or qpr!!!

also it was genuinely so cute to see wednesday making friends like. why was i sobbing so much when she hugged enid. holy fuck.

THE DANCE SCENE. SHES AN ICON SHES A LEGEND AND SHE IS THE MOMENT

i am referring to both her actual dancing and ofc “they couldn’t even spring for real pigs blood. its only paint.” so real.

cant even stop myself from mentioning that jenna ortega looks very hot covered in blood which happens a lot in this series. like almost every episode. jesus fucking christ i am so in love with her.

i am a huge edgar allen poe nerd so i fucking adored every little reference to his works. also the idea that he was an outcast is so real to me.

speaking of outcasts: ngl definitely could’ve come up with a better name, “outcasts” just made it sound weirdly like some awkward teen high school drama but you get used to it

wednesday’s visions were so cool??? i loved the whole goody addams thing their interactions were really cool and god i just was not expecting that at all.

ok tbh it was really weird that her name was goody, since “goody” is the puritan equivalent of “mrs.” (its short for goodwife) so idk why they did that but ok i’m still here for it

honestly in general they do a really good job of keeping you guessing. i was suspicious about almost every single character throughout the whole series.

in retrospect i should’ve known tyler was gonna be an asshole from the start cause. i mean. his name is tyler. no offense to my tylers, but be real when have you ever seen a tv show character named tyler that wasn’t a douche. i’ll wait.

i’ve typed tyler too many times and it no longer looks like a real name

episodes are nice and long but i obviously wish the series was longer, but it was super bingable and i’m probably gonna rewatch it 3 million times until the next season inevitably comes out.

not to be dorky but i loved how every episode title was a pun w the word “woe”

i have really horrible media literacy in the sense that i overthink EVERYTHING so to me like almost everything in that was beautifully executed symbolism and maybe it was but when i say i lost my shit when i noticed wednesday stand on enid’s side of the room and fsr thats the only example i can think of rn BUT STILL

overall 5 stars 10/10 show i cant wait for more i love the plot i love the characters i love the cast i will be recommending it to everyone ik and more

I have a question regarding the new viper adaptation in the streamer Enid au. This is inspired by some of the online response I’m seeing of a show I’m watching.

So, it’s established that the original adaptation was really bad, and fans of Wednesday’s work didn’t like it (especially Enid). Of course this leads to the new adaptation spearheaded by Wednesday herself. Now, with every adaptation comes tweaks and changes to better fit the medium of film, meaning not everything is translated one to one. With every fandom comes diehard followers of canon, some being more vocal than the rest, which can lead to complaints about every change and how things aren’t exactly right.

Which leads to my question(s), what are things that certain fans complain about? And how does Enid in particular feel about those vocal few? I assume Enid knows that any change that occurs is needed and that Wednesday knows what she’s doing, but perhaps it’s one of those things where sometimes all the nice things can feel overshadowed by a few negative comments.

Sorry for the long one, just a bit frustrated is all. I am curious though on audience reaction to the new adaptation in general, because sometimes “fans” have very absurd opinions on adaptations, even when the author is directly involved in the process.

Probably? The fact that everything is gay asf. I was going to say lowkey but the tension is way too obvious that it's highkey instead

In the books, while obvious in writing, can easily be brushed off by most to simply Viper missing Helios and vice versa. It makes sense after all, it's not the first time Helios dissapeared and Viper panicked

But in the show? It's show not tell and Wenclair really be showing how affected they are by the loss of the other

It's been talked about before that Wednesday has been accused of queerbaiting imperial gold (the ship name between Helios and Viper) because it was never confirmed that they were dating or in love but there was a shit ton of subtext that say otherwise.

So Wednesday took those criticisms and decided to show how in love they are in the show

Because they are.

Both in the books and irl, Wednesday just didn't see the point in saying those three words when there are others ways that she has done so
