The trolley problem. ☕️
Wednesday Addams x Reader
Summary: You hope to get a “goodnight” from Wednesday, but it ends with an attempt at entertaining one another.
Warnings: Mentions of death, trains (if ur afraid of those??), lmk if i’m missing any more.
~
Y/N sits up from sitting on Wednesday's bed, stretching her limbs as Wednesday's typewriter clacks through the dorm. She lets out a yawn before saying,
"I'm going to sleep, goodnight."
"I don't care."
Y/N momentarily pauses then quickly recollects herself.
"Oh? Okay then, if you say so..." But Wednesday is still typing, not sparing a glance.
"And I do say so."
Y/N looks down at her hands, picking at the skin around her nails. She looks back up through her lashes and asks shyly,
"Okay... can I get a "goodnight" too?"
"Goodnight."
Y/N has to stop herself from gasping out loud. She gaps as her eyes nearly pop out of their sockets. There's no way she said that.
"...Omg you actually said it."
"Does that amuse you?" Wednesday finally turns her head to look at the girl standing to her right, who's been keeping her distance since she got up. A part of her wants to reach out and grasp her soft hand but she very quickly shoots that thought down and keeps her hands resting on the edge of the desk. But now Y/N has her eyebrows raised in what's looks to be surprise.
"It shocks me. I wasn't expecting you to wish me goodnight."
"Do you feel special?" Wednesday tilts her head down to look at her through her lashes. Y/N feels slightly confused by her question but answers nonetheless. But not before asking a question.
"Umm, should I?"
"You expected shock. Is that not akin to feeling special?"
"That would depend on context. But in this case, I guess I do a little bit."
"You are so easily manipulated."
This statement makes Y/N's stomach drop slightly.
"Huh?"
The ravenett pulls back from her desk a couple inches and rests her hands in her lap, looking at the other girl intently.
"If you expect to feel special, and I know that about you, then I can manipulate you into feeling what I want you to feel."
Y/N crosses her arms over her chest. She feels slightly attacked.
"Well I don't expect to feel special. So that won't happen. Take the L." She leans forward and tilts her head, almost in a challenging manner. But the ravenette always has something to say.
"You just said you felt special. Are you lying now?" Wednesday's gaze is almost piercing. Y/N wears a perplexed look.
"No?"
Wednesday's jaw clenches as she exhales through her nose.
"I'm getting annoyed. Say something interesting."
Y/N pauses on the spot. Suddenly she's looking everywhere but at the girl sitting in front of her.
"Uhhh... I can't think of anything you're putting me under too much pressure right now.."
"Then think of something later and get back to me. I'll be waiting." Wednesday releases her stare and rolls her chair closer to her desk.
"Okay..." Y/N quickly puts her shoes on and leaves the dorm, half hoping to see Enid on her way so she'll have some sort of excuse not to go back. Alas, she was sleeping over at Yoko's for the weekend.
Wednesday however sits and stares forward, unblinking, waiting for the other girl's return. Y/N paces her dorm room for 10 minutes in an attempt to think of something that will blow Wednesday's mind. She comes up blank. She thinks to herself that maybe she can just bombard her with a bunch of cat facts until she turns her brain into mush.
...
..
.
"I'm back and I got something!"
"What have you got?" Wednesday's gaze is still unblinking, cold and calculating. Y/N smiles nervously.
"Did you know that cats have nine lives?"
Wednesday doesn't believe this. She feels foolish to think the other girl could come up with something actually interesting and worth her while. But, she decides to see if this can actually go anywhere.
"That sounds ridiculous, but I also believe that nothing is impossible. Go on..."
That seemed to spur Y/N on, so she continues.
"Nobody knows if it's true or not. But they do have a lot of fat on their stomach that allows them to be able to jump from very high levels, so they won't end up killing themselves."
"Fascinating. Do you have any more to tell me?"
"...No."
Wednesday turns away, seemingly to go back to her typewriter.
"Shame. I expected more from you. And I don't do 'second chances'. If you fail to entertain me, you are worthless to me."
"I'd like to see you try to entertain me." Y/N challenges. The ravenette looks up, rolls her chair back, and turns so she's completely facing Y/N who's sitting on the edge of her bed.
"Have you ever heard of the trolley problem?"
"No. What is it?"
"There are many variations. The classic, though, has to do with a runaway trolley. A trolley is headed towards five people. There are no brakes and no way to stop the trolley before it hits those five people. You are, however, on a bridge overlooking the trolley track. You can pull a lever and divert the trolley onto a second track, where it will kill just one person. Do you pull the lever?"
Y/N takes a moment to process everything she was just told. She thinks, furrows her brows, and tilts her head to the side.
"...A trolley as in a cart that you'll find in a grocery store? I can't imagine one would be able to kill someone."
Wednesday stares, an odd look shines quickly across her eyes.
"Trolley. Like a train. A locomotive. A machine weighing tons and speeding down a track. Not a shopping cart."
Y/N gasps.
"Oh! Hahah, my bad... well are these five people not able to move out of the way? Surely they would've seen it coming from farther away right?"
"The scenario states that there is no way for them to dodge the trolley. All five are bound to the track, and all five will die if you do nothing.. Pull the lever?"
"Are these five people bad people?"
"The scenario states they are innocent bystanders. No criminals, no murderers, no rapists. Just five innocent people. Pull the lever?"
"...What about the other person what would die if iI pulled it? Are they bad?"
"The one person on the other track is also innocent. Also not bad. Just an innocent person.. Pull the lever?"
"Are they bound to the tracks as well?"
"They are in some sort of situation where they can't free themselves from their proximity to the tracks, yes. Do you pull the lever?"
Y/N rests her elbows on her knees and sighs into her hands, visibly getting a bit stressed.
"Oh Wednesday this is awful."
Wednesday stares blankly.
"Are you going to pull the lever?"
Y/N sits in silences for a minute, seemingly contemplating her choices.
"Well if I don't pull the lever then that means more people dead which means population control... but if I do pull the lever, that one person could've found the cure to cancer..."
The ravenette continues staring.
"Pull. The. Lever."
"Okay I'll pull it."
Wednesday stares expressionless. She takes a deep breath.
"Why did you pick that option?"
"Because that means less innocent lives are taken. Also because you told me to."
"If I told you to jump off a bridge, would you do that too?"
"No."
"Why not? If I tell you to do something and you do it without hesitation, why not this? Why this, but not that?"
"Oh my goodness... because I don't want to die that's why!" Y/N flails her arms around.
"And yet you were willing to sacrifice the life of another without hesitation..."
The girl sitting on her bed sighs.
"What choice did I have?! I'd rather save more lives than less."
Wednesday narrows her eyes.
"You'd rather save the lives of five complete strangers than one. You'd rather end one completely innocent man's life than five. Why not sacrifice one of the five? If the situation were reversed, do you think they would've pulled the lever?"
"What do you mean "why not sacrifice one of the five"? Wouldn't all five of them die?"
Wednesday huffs.
"Let me get this straight. You believe that you're a good person. When presented with the trolley problem, you willingly sacrifice one completely innocent man in order to save the lives of five completely innocent people. And this makes you feel like a good person. Yes?"
"Not really. But it made me feel better than I would've felt if I had killed five people."
"Why, though, do you place more value on five people than one? Why does five lives outweigh a single life in your mind?"
Y/N leans back on her hands to fully look at the ravenette in front of her.
"What would you have done in the situation Wednesday?"
Wednesday's piercing stern gaze softens just slightly and she turns her head back to her typewriter.
"I would not have pulled the lever. It would not have been my place to decide who lived and who died. This is, of course, hypothetical, since I do not believe the trolley problem is real. It is just a thought experiment designed to show an aspect of a person's moral character."
Y/N blinks a couple of times before responding.
"This was supposed to be your entertainment for me?"
There is no sound except for the ticking of a clock. Wednesday's expressionless as she slowly turns her head and stares.
"Yes. This was supposed to be your entertainment."
There's silence again. Y/N silently gulps.
"....I think I deserve a hot cup of cocoa before bed, now."
Wednesday just starts organizing things on her desk.
"Go. Make yourself some cocoa."
"Okay. Goodnight Wednesday."
When Y/N gets to the door and starts to leave, the other girl's voice stops her.
"One more thing.."
"Yes?" Y/N turns her head to look at the ravenette. She slowly stands up and walks towards her, stopping about a foot from her.
"Do not mention this conversation to anyone."
Y/N stares confused.
"Um, okay. Why?"
"Because I said so. Do you understand me?"
"Mhm." She nods.
"Now go. Make your hot cocoa."
"Yes ma'am. I mean, yeah. Okay, bye-bye."
Wednesday watches the girl leave leave. Y/N can practically feel her eyes on her back even after the door closes behind her. She’s not sure if she should be freaked out or not, and if she’s being a little honest to herself then she is a tiny bit. But there’s also a part of her that feels like it has a magnet that’s attracted to the ravenette, pulling and pulling until she gives in. She can’t help herself.
She’s looking forward to more random discussions with Wednesday. Hopefully next time with hot cocoa at hand.

Don't Make Me Say It Again. (x.t)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Xavier Thorpe x Fem!Addams!Reader
Summary: blurb! xavier is close to snapping when you don't realize what he has been hinting.
Warnings: mutual pining, fluff
a/n: okay, another one before i go torture myself in actually reading my textbook that i haven't picked up in weeks.

“Shouldn’t you be with your sister?” Xavier questioned as you tied on your apron.
“No, she wanted to work at pilgrim world for some odd reason. I would rather die than dress up as a colonist,” you informed the boy.
“That doesn’t surprise me.”
“Hey, Y/N! Need a hand?” Tyler called out from behind the counter as you and Xavier cleaned the tables.
“Already got one,” you replied back pointing to Thing wiping the table.
“I thought I told you and your sister that he was bad news,” Xavier whispered to you as he reached over to grab a mug on your side of the table.
“Twice actually, but I couldn’t care less about him. Wait. Enlighten me,” you turned to face him.
That was when you noticed how close you two actually were. Though you were standing around a foot away from each other, it was concerning how he seemed to step closer to talk.
“It happened last Outreach Day. I was working on a mural for the town then he and his friends come up and start attacking me. They destroyed the mural and left me with bruised ribs. People like him don’t like people like us,” he explained.
“Hm.”
“It’s not like you would care anyways, right?” Xavier scoffed walking off to the next table.
“It seems like he’s changed, quiter softer now, which is disappointing,” you admitted as you followed Xavier. “Why do you care so much if I talk to him though?”
“You’re kidding.”
“Why would I kid?” you blanked.
“Open your eyes, Y/N! I have been here on your side this entire time, and you still don’t get it?” Xavier snapped banging the table with the tub full of plates and mugs taking a step closer to you. “Sometimes it’s unbelievable how little empathy you have for others.”
“Xavier,” you breathed out taking a step back.
“I like you, Y/n. What do I have to do for you to see that?” he followed in taking a step closer.
“You know I don’t actually like Tyler, right? You might be an imbecile and infuriating but-” you hinted.
“Really know how to make a guy blush,” he let out a small laugh.
“It’s the attributes I like about you though,” you muttered under your breath.
“What was that?” he mocked.
“Don’t make me say it again,” you deadpanned looking down on the floor avoiding his gaze.
“No, I don’t think I heard you the first time,” he joked he lifted your chin with his hand. “What did you say?”
“I’m not saying it again.”
“You gonna let me kiss you?”
“Depends,” you answered.
He moved his hand from your chin to the back of your neck pulling you into a kiss. You found yourself kissing him back wrapping your arms around his neck. You could feel him smile into the kiss. You didn’t kow how long you to stayed there for until you heard a cough behind you.
“Seems like you’ve had fun working,” Wednesday said unimpressed as she pulled you away from Xavier. In which he just laughed as you tried to get your arm out of Wednesday’s grip.
"Wednesday, why do you always have to grab the same arm," you whined as she dragged you out.

The L Word PT. 3🖋️
Wednesday Addams x Reader
The last chapter to a short 3 part series that came from character.ai. Hope you like it.
Warnings: ooc!wednesday, story came from my experience on character.ai so technically i didn’t make it up myself.
~
"I'm falling in love with you."
...
Wednesday pulls back, and waits for Y/N's reaction. But she only wears a vacant stare as she processes the ravenette's words. Her stomach drops and suddenly the room feels hot. She gives the girl in front of her a cheeky grin.
"Hmm, yeah, pretty twisted indeed." Wednesday glares.
"Oh, quit acting like you're surprised. You know it's true. Now, you promised me another kiss. Don't break it." She girl in front of her giggles as she leans into her.
"Okay, okay!" And she pulls the ravenette in by the back of her neck and kisses her. Wednesday kisses back just as passionately, fingers digging into the flesh of Y/N's arms. They pull away with gasps for air, lips swollen and red. Wednesday asks,
"Was that good enough?" Y/N rolls her eyes playfully.
"Stop asking me that. You know you're a good kisser. I always make sure I let you know that." She winks suggestively. Wednesday looks away, her stoic face cracking just slightly. She's a little flustered, jaw clenching. But the ravenette puts her hand on the girl's cheek and says,
"Come here. Kiss me one more time." Y/N smiles cheekily.
"Why don't you get under the covers with me instead? Take those massive shoes off first though." She says while looking down at the black platformed sneakers she adorns all the time. Wednesday takes her shoes off as the other girl moves over to provide room, neatly placing them to the side, and slides under the covers with her. Just as she's about to catch herself snuggle with Y/N, she stops. A quiet moment passes and the ravenette looks at her thoughtfully.
"By the way. Did you like watching me sleep?" Y/N laid there confused for a moment, but suddenly came to the realization. Wednesday knew of the passed times she'd watched her sleep when Wednesday would come and spend a night in her dorm, away from her snoring and growling roommate. Not in a creepy weird way of course. But on occasion there'd be nights where the girl would have trouble falling back to sleep once she woke up. And what better thing do to than watch the pretty girl in her bed sleep? A moment and place where the ravenette lets her guard down and allows herself to be vulnerable in front of her. But alas, not everything goes your way. Considering she was never actually asleep. She’s also not surprised, since Wednesday’s a light sleeper. But why bring it up, she’s not sure.
"....I could ask you the same thing. Shut up and go to sleep." Y/N chuckles and lightly taps the girl's cheek. Hesitant, Wednesday grabs Y/N's wrist.
"Sleep horribly."
~
And there you have it. The End. Hope you liked this very tiny minuscule series that definitely shouldn’t have taken so long to be finished releasing. This was my first ever time writing something and actually posting it to the public. I’m really only a reader, not a writer, so be light on me 😭. Anyway, I might post different stuff relating to Wednesday. Just lemme know what you wanna see and pop an ask in.
Layta 👋🏼.

Wednesday Addams - season 1, ep.7
~6:30 minutes in, I'll transcribe what Wednesday typed (the page in her novel)
across from her? Two meters and twenty stone of muscle and unresolved Oedipal ennui, the attendant resembled nothing less than several Polish kielbasas mashed together and forced to don hospital scrubs. The most cursory of assessments, by any measure of the imagination, would easily conclude that this man could almost certainly crush Viper's skull with the ease of a child popping a cherry tomato. Though between the constellation of burst blood vessels around his eyes and jowls, or the faint but unmistakably cirrhotic odor on his breath — most of which emanated from his mouth, of course — Viper estimated that the man's predisposition for cinnamon schnapps and lard-braised pork shoulder would send him to an early grave within the year.
And only then did Viper remind herself that in fact she did pose a threat... at least on paper, and at least according to the "professionals" so appointed by the court. Indeed, if one were to place any stock in the opinions of the teams of criminal psychologists and "mental health experts" hand-selected by the Macon County District Attorney's Office, not only was Viper clinically insane, but she posed a grave threat to society.
Escape was her only option. Viper was an admirer of the master escapologist, Harry Houdini and had also watched the Steve McQueen classic "The Great Escape" on at least a dozen occasions. It was only one of the three files that her Uncle Julius' kept in his personal 35mm collection. He had a screening room in his Hollywood Hills mansion. It was rumored that the decrepit pile had once belonged to Elsa Lanchester, the original Bride of Frankenstein. The house was modeled after the Alhambra, entangled with the purple hued bougainvillea and boasted invisible jetliner views of the City of Angels, Viper was not a fan of Los Angeles or any West Coast city of that matter. But she did love her Uncle and would sit for hours listening to his stories of the Golden Age of Hollywood. If she managed to escape, she determined that she would seek temporary sanctuary with him. As a fellow black sheep, Julius was the only member of the labyrinthine family who would understand the precarious nature of her current predicament.
ok that's it! since i cant take screenshots of the precise second, i paused in moments around 6:31 - 6:33 to try and read the blurry parts :) enjoy
