Cherry Blossoms in Spring
pairing: Osamu Dazai x reader genre: fluff summary: you and Dazai get married warning: none
Tumblr media
As you and Dazai prepared for your wedding, the atmosphere at the Armed Detective Agency was filled with excitement and joy. Everyone eagerly awaited the big day, which would mark the beginning of your new life together.
"Ranpo, you have a keen eye for detail. Please make sure everything is planned perfectly," you said, turning to the detective with admiration.
"Of course! I'll make sure every aspect of the wedding is meticulously organized," Ranpo replied confidently, a hint of pride in his voice.
Meanwhile, Atsushi and Kyouka were busy creating beautiful decorations and flower arrangements, adding a touch of elegance to the venue. Atsushi smiled warmly as he carefully arranged the flowers, while Kyouka's eyes sparkled with delight as she put the final touches on the decorations.
"I hope the flowers are to your liking," Atsushi said, a bit shyly.
"They are perfect. Thank you both for putting in so much effort," you replied, genuinely touched by their dedication.
Kunikida, in his typical responsible manner, took care of all the legal paperwork and made sure that everything was in order. His dedication to details made you feel reassured and confident about the whole process.
"I've double-checked all the documents, and everything is in order. We are legally ready for the wedding," Kunikida informed you with a satisfied smile.
Chuuya, with his fiery and passionate personality, was proudly chosen to be Dazai's best man. Though he tried to act tough and indifferent about it, deep down, he felt honored and touched by the trust Dazai placed in him.
"Dazai chose you because he trusts you, Chuuya," you said, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"Of course, he did! But that doesn't mean I'm going to get all sentimental about it," Chuuya retorted, trying to hide the emotions welling up inside.
As the day drew nearer, you could hardly contain your excitement. Dazai, being his usual witty self, teased you about how he would be the most charming and handsome groom ever.
"I must say, you're marrying a real catch," Dazai said with a playful grin, making you chuckle.
On the day of the wedding, the sun shone brightly, adding warmth and joy to the occasion. You wore a beautiful white gown that seemed to glow against the backdrop of cherry blossoms, while Dazai looked dashing in his white suit and tie.
As the ceremony commenced, the atmosphere was filled with emotion. The joy and love in the room were palpable. As you exchanged heartfelt vows, everyone present felt a surge of emotions. Even Chuuya, though he pretended to be indifferent, couldn't hide the tears that welled up in his eyes.
The reception was a blast, with everyone celebrating and having a great time. Naomi captured the precious moments with her photography skills, ensuring that the memories would last a lifetime.
Throughout the night, Dazai surprised you with his romantic gestures and witty remarks, making you fall in love with him all over again. It was a magical day, filled with love, friendship, and happiness.
As the night came to an end, you and Dazai exchanged promises of a future filled with adventures, love, and laughter.
"With you, every day is a new adventure," Dazai whispered, holding you close.
"With you, I know the journey will always be extraordinary," you replied, feeling a surge of love and happiness.
With the support of your friends at the Armed Detective Agency, you knew that your journey together would be nothing short of extraordinary.
And so, the story of your wedding with Dazai became an unforgettable chapter in the chronicles of the Armed Detective Agency. You giggled as Elvis carried you over the threshold into the small hotel room. Small, because you had had a private wedding at Graceland and wanted to keep things private, if only for a week before he’d be back on tour. That meant a small honeymoon, far away from prying eyes.
So, one private plane trip to Hawaii later, here you were. The hotel was small, but the staff were known for their discretion, and for the first time since… ever, you and Elvis were alone. No Colonel, no screaming fans, no Memphis mafia. Just  husband and wife.
“Elvis! Put me down!”
“Okay,” he grinned as he threw you on the bed. You screamed and bounced before scowling up at him.
“Was that really necessary?”
“Definitely.” He smirked, framing you with his fingers. “Mrs Presley, you look like a pretty lil painting.”
Heat rose to your cheeks. Elvis turned and locked the door, and you couldn’t help but rake your gaze over his body. You’d traveled in simple clothing to avoid suspicion: you in a sky-blue button-up dress, him in black trousers and a matching shirt that was barely buttoned down, the hair on his chest visible. You wanted to feel that body against yours, wanted so many things only he could give you.
Elvis turned and saw you squeeze your thighs together. He smirked, before a thought occurred to him and he bit his lip.
“What is it?”
“There’s something I’ve always wanted to try.”
You sat up and beckoned him forward with a finger, leading him down for a kiss. “Tell me what you want.”
He made short work of your dress, stripping you down to your lingerie in minutes. While the dress was simple, your wedding lingerie made you look like a winning lottery ticket. White lace with black detailing, shimmering with rhinestones with every shaky breath you took.
Elvis stood above you, taking in your whole body before he leaned down and whispered, “I want to photograph you like this, honey. Just like this.”
You shuddered as hot hands trailed down your bare sides. Need shot straight to your core, pulsing in tune with your rapid heartbeat.
“Okay.” You whispered.
“Really?” Elvis pulled back with an almost boyish grin on your face. You bit your lip and nodded.
“Anything for my husband.”
Elvis pulled away to rummage through your suitcase. Light filtered in through the hotel window, bathing the room in a golden sunset glow. Elvis found the camera and turned around, humming as he took in every inch of your body.
“Mmm, My wife is so beautiful.”
“Elvis.” You gasped out a laugh, but it did nothing to hide the flush of your cheeks. The darkness in his eyes was intense enough, but with the camera that hovered over you, unblinking, you could combust at any moment.
“Look right into the lens, baby.” Elvis breathed, and you heard the click of the camera as he captured you, laid out on the navy blue hotel sheets. You bit your lip and he took another photo. Then another. And another.
Elvis focused all his attention on you, hands drifting over your bare skin, caressing your sides, your thighs. Positioning the blue satin to his liking. Snap. Snap. Snap. A shiver ran down your spine with every photo.
“Open your mouth just a little, baby. That’s it, you’re beautiful.” Elvis murmured, hardly blinking as he drank you in.
You grew wetter with every click of the shutter, much to your surprise. This was not something you’d considered before- cameras were for public and family events, not capturing the most intimate moments of life. E
ven wearing lingerie, this was the most naked you’d ever felt. The space between you and your new husband scorched your skin, goosebumps rising as he positioned his body over yours for a close-up.
Elvis was hard already, grinding slowly against you, capturing your every reaction as his length rubbed against you. The gasp you made when he pulled your bra down to tweak a nipple, the sigh when his tongue found the sweet spot on your neck and he sucked, turning the skin deep purple.
You probably weren’t even in focus for half of these, Elvis’ attention focused in front of the camera instead of behind it. But the clicking shutter still urged you both on, pulling a moan from low in your throat.
“You’re so beautiful.” He put down the camera to take your face in his hands, exploring your mouth with his tongue as if for the first time. His fingers hooked your bra strings, starting to slide them down your shoulders. “Can I take these off, baby?”
You knew what he was really asking, and nodded shyly.
“If you’re not comfortable, we can stop.”
You hooked your hands around his neck and pulled him down, wrapping your legs around his waist to draw him closer. “I want it. Please, don’t make me beg.”
He purred against your neck. “Maybe later.”
Elvis sat up in bed, taking you with him so that you were on top. “Go sit on the end of the bed.”
Your brow furrowed in confusion, but with a glance there, you understood. At the foot of the bed was an enormous mirror that spanned almost the length of the wall.
You sat. Waited. Held your breath.
“Spread your legs.” Elvis had the camera back in hand now, the clicking of the shutter resuming. He kissed down your neck and slid the bra from your shoulders before tossing it to the other side of the room.
You both groaned as his fingers found your wetness, rubbing you through the lace. “You like this, hmm Mrs Presley?”
You could only nod, reaching up to hook an arm around the back of his neck. “Please, E, please-”
What were you begging for? You couldn’t say. Couldn’t think as a finger dipped inside your panties and slid inside with no resistance. Before you could think of anything, two fingers curled inside you, hitting your spot with practiced ease.
“This what you want, baby?”
You whined, bucking your hips as his fingers stilled, waiting for an answer. You slapped his arm and Elvis chuckled.
“Is that a no?”
“Please. Please make me cum, I need to-” Words dissolved into a moan as Elvis redoubled his efforts, bringing you torturously close to the edge before his fingers stilled again.
“Why?” Tears sprang up behind your eyes. Elvis grasped your chin and turned you to face the mirror, where his eyes were black with lust as he scanned over your body.
“Because, wife, when you come tonight, it’s going to be because I’m inside you. Fucking you. I could get you there with my fingers right now, but I’d rather use my cock. What do you think?”
He punctuated the question with a few slow pumps of his fingers that left you bucking your hips, desperate for more contact.
“Fuck me.”
Click.
Heat surged through you as you thought of the photo he’d just taken: you were almost completely naked while he was still fully-clothed, two fingers knuckle-deep inside you. Your mouth open and panting, legs spread obscenely wide while he nibbled on your earlobe, whispering filthy things in your ear.
Elvis spun the two of you around so you were on your back on the bed, him kneeling between your legs, taking the white lace of your panties between his teeth, slowly tugging down your last item of clothing and flinging it over his shoulder.
His hot breath crested over your clit and had you tangling your hands in his hair, tugging desperately. “Please, you don’t need to- to-”
You stuttered as his tongue licked a slow trail to your clit, hips bucking as he set to spoiling you with his mouth. He slowly undid the buttons on his shirt, never once taking his mouth from you until your whole body quivered.
Elvis sat back to remove his shirt and trousers, which joined your underwear in a pile on the floor.
He knelt upright on the mattress, gripping your hips to pull you onto his cock. You both groaned as he sank into you fully, your legs wrapping around his hips and digging into his ass. If you’d stammered before, you were completely incoherent, unhinged as Elvis tortured you with slow strokes at first, before building up until the only sound that filled the room was slapping flesh.
“This what you wanted?” Elvis reached down to squeeze your breast. “This how you like it?”
“Deeper. Please, deeper. I n-need to feel you.”
Elvis growled and grabbed your hips with bruising force, hitting somewhere inside you’d never felt before. Everything else in the hotel melted away, your only anchor to reality was the soft sheets fisted in your palms as Elvis pounded into you relentlessly.
“Need you to come for me, baby.” Elvis’ blue eyes were dark with lust, body slick with sweat as he showed no signs of slowing.
You could do nothing but nod as he sped up, thumb pressing on your clit until you came in a blaze of white light and moans. Your whole body shook as Elvis followed you over the edge, releasing inside you.
He slowly pulled out and collapsed beside you, panting. Neither of you could speak as you caught your breath, still clenching around nothing.
When you could speak again, you turned to smile at your husband. “Well, that was a good start. What do you want to do now?”Elvis rolled on top of you with a growl, burying his face in your neck. “Mrs Presley, we are just getting started.”

Not Bailey being the best option for a stepdaddy and partner 💀 ik Wren's kicking screaming and dramatically sliding down the wall
He's having a dramatic rain scene and SCREAMING
stepdad au for those who don't know
You know those games where the choices you make impact how other characters become? The only example i can think about rn is Our Life's Shiloh, where you impact how much of a cunt he is at the end, in your wedding dlc.
ANYWAY, like I was thinking about how the kid turns out with each stepdad?
Avery: Fucking townie. The kid is growing up rich now. Immpeccable manners, but probably a streak of anxiety and they struggle with confrontation, because Avery's temper was always there, but never aimed at them that much. They get into the best schools, and they were homeschooled with the best tutors. With a bit of therapy, they'll do better in high stress situations, but they're pretty much set for life. Nepo baby. Is one of the dads who want to push Wren completely out of the picture. Fuck you, he's the one providing the education, the money, the care.
Bailey: Hero worships Bailey. To them, he's their hero. Came in when you were struggling. Remembers the scared look on your face. Doesn't remember much from before Bailey started staying over. Doesn't remember the pure fear you'd go through, right up until Bailey had you. Then he was a semi regular fixture at the dinner table. They didn't force the kid to talk when they weren't feeling it. To them, Bailey saved them from bullying, saved you from being lonely. Hears rumours around town about Bailey and always plugs their ears to not listen. They grow up smart as a whip, with excellent sense for business and a gun in their top drawer. Either they find out the truth about Bailey, and their world crumples to pieces and starts demanding you keep away from Bailey, or they just take it head on. Join the family business.
Leighton: You don't know when, but they somehow had gotten very slippery. Little white lies. They get in trouble, but it's always let go because they seem to never be caught in the act. They get the highest grades growing up, which is either from their sharp mind, or Leighton refuses to let them flunk out. Is the most protected kid in school. Someone tried to bully them for being a teacher's pet and it only took one day for them to stay 50 feet away from the kid at all times. Also, to them, you and Leighton have the perfect relationship. He does have so many cute polaroids of you in his wallet.
Harper: Gets a bit weird and dark growing up. Takes a keen interest in medicine, either to endear themselves to their stepdad, or because they actually do have an interest. They're quiet and have a genuine interest in the world around them. You've had to yoink them away from going down in the sewers to explore. Harper does take them to the hospital on certain days and only once took them to the asylum, just to let them read over the case files. Harper is one of those who will actively push Wren right out of the picture. Will not want their kid to think of him as anything less than their true papa.
Niki: They take a keen interest in photography. At one point in their youth, they started sticking a lollypop stick in their mouth as well, and ambling after Niki. They're quiet like him, but are missing the intensity that grows in his eyes. It's quiet upbringing, with pictures of the three of you lining the walls. Niki does like Wren, so would let him join in on stuff, but unlike everyone else, wants the kid away from the work they do, and the people they interact with. No going to the farm, no heading to his studio when he's photographing models. But his kid still get their own little polaroid camera. They share a love of photography. And of you.
Remy: That kid is the most spoiled. It WAS an accident, though, it's just that he loves the kid. Remy is a strict dad, motherfucker runs a tight ship, and your kid grows up with the same schedule as him. Up early in the morning and to bed late at night. They become an avid horse lover, always going out for a ride. Remy is also one that refuses to let them go into the town to go to school, so homeschooling it is. Fuck, he's the type to try to buy out the teachers to come and work for him as private tutors if they're good enough. One day, if he thinks they would be good at it, involve them in his actual farm. But until that day, they only know he runs a riding school, and he has a large estate. There would be a moment that your baby grows quiet and scared and one day has a melt down that the both of you are Remy's "other" family, and he keeps the real one at the estate. It does take the farmer a hot moment to reassure them that no, there's no other family... Just the cottage feels more like home than the estate. Is one that wouldn't push Wren out of the picture, but has become less close with him.

The Battle of the Paddock
[Bella is a promising, young social media talent. She ends up in working with McLaren for their 2023 race season, but has she bitten off a little more than she can chew?]
Lando Norris/OC, Charles Leclerc/OC George Russell/OC
Bella was awake long before her alarm. This was the day that she had been waiting for, for her whole life. It was a dream come true… so why did she feel so terrified?
Bella was a girl from a town called Rochester, just East of London. She had grown up as a normal girl with an eye for photography and later, developed this passion into videography. Starting as a weekend help for local wedding photographers, she was able to start to build an impressive portfolio. Bella ended up being accepted into Queen Mary university to study social media marketing. This helped her combine her keen eye for photography with a way to make it profitable and build her career further. Don’t get it wrong, Bella did love photographing weddings, but she felt as though she could do more, and she had a dream.
Bella’s father was a passionate sports fan, especially when it came to Formula One. Growing up, Bella had always enjoyed sitting with her father on the weekends to watch the likes of Vettel and Button race for victory. She had fond memories of watching Sebastian Vettel become the youngest winner, racing for the pole position for Red Bull. Holding onto this memory fondly, Bella decided that she wanted to be there, in the paddock and photographing the drivers in their day-to-day activities, practicing on the tracks, celebrating on the podiums, and everything else in between.
One January day, Bella received an email that was almost too good to be true. She had been recently working with various companies, helping them build an online profile through the likes of Instagram and more recently the ever-growing TikTok app. The email was from McLaren, they had seen her online presence and they needed a new social media assistant manager for the next race season. They were inviting her to interview with them at her earliest convenience to pitch some ideas on how to build up awareness around their new car and drivers ready for the new season.
Bella stared at her phone in disbelief, she was potentially going to end up in the paddock, where she had always dreamt of being. Time passed and the interview came and went without a hitch. Bella, was offered the position which she immediately took. Bella had pitched several ideas to the McLaren team which they had loved.
***
Bella rolled over and checked her phone, 05:03. She sighed and swung her legs over the edge of her bed. She’d said goodbye to her father the day before and boarded a train to Woking so she wouldn’t have to make the journey the day of the meeting. McLaren had put her up in a small B&B just a few miles away from their HQ. They were to send a car to collect her at seven and that’s all she knew. She had no idea what the first day would contain, all she knew was that she needed to bring all her kits with her in case there were perfect photo opportunities.
Bella hopped into the shower, got herself dressed and presentable, and was down in reception for a quarter to seven ready to go. Normally, Bella would have killed for a coffee but she was already so wired on nerves, she thought this would probably make it all worse. She was shaking as it was, full of adrenaline.
Dead on seven, a black car pulled up out front and Jim Harris jumped out to greet her. Jim oversaw McLaren’s media outlets; he had been the one who had personally scouted and hired Bella. It was a cold February day, accompanied by wind and rain, not ideal shooting conditions but Bella knew the HQ had to be large enough that they’d find some great locations inside.
“Isabella, it’s so nice to finally meet you in the flesh,” said Jim cheerfully.
“You too Jim, but please, call me Bella” Bella said, extending her hand and shaking Jim’s firmly.
Jim couldn’t have been too much older than Bella. She was twenty-three, and Jim had to be in his late twenties at maximum. He had a youthful face and was dressed in his McLaren-branded soft-shell jacket.
“Jump in, we have so much to get through already today”.
He gestured to the open door of the car. Bella climbed in and they made their way to McLaren’s Technology Centre.
In the car, Jim made a pleasant conversation with Bella about her thoughts on her first day. He asked how she was feeling and was quite sweet, trying to calm her.
“Remember, it’s not fear, it’s excitement. At least that’s what Lando tells us before a race”
That’s when it hit her. She was going to meet the drivers, in real life. Not these small little figures she saw on her TV screen or online. They were real people, living their dreams and Bella was going to be rubbing shoulders with them any time soon.
“It isn’t nerves, it’s excitement” was what Bella held onto, mentally repeating it to herself the whole short, ten-minute drive to the offices.
The building itself was an impressive piece of architecture, a huge curved building, a semi-circle with the other half being replaced with a lake structure, from above it was a perfect circle. Jim gave her a brief tour of the floor she was to be based on. Bella had a small office space in the social media room. A desk, various laptops and computers, tablets, and lots of storage space.
“Make this into whatever suits you,” Jim said, waving his arm around the space, “whatever gets those creative thoughts flowing, but just remember there will be nine months of the year where we’re flying between here and various countries so best to make sure it’s all portable!”
After introductions between herself and the rest of the media team, Jim left her in the hands of Aria, an intern who had been with McLaren for the last season. Aria was young and funny, and Bella took an instant shine to her.
“Look at you! Your first day here, how are you feeling?”
“I’m okay, I think. A bit apprehensive but I’m looking forward to it. I’m relaxed now I’m here and sat down,” Bella smiled.
“Honestly, you will have so much fun. McLaren is a great company to work for and I have loved every second. I just wish I could go out on the seasons and see the races in person.”
“You didn’t go last year?”
“No,” Aria sighed, “only the best in the team actually get flown out to spend their time there, and well, I’m still learning. I’m an intern so I’m not that valued. I do help a lot, I spend a lot of my time editing, writing captions, and posting but I’ve not taken any of the photos yet. But there’s still time!”
This made Bella nervous again. She didn’t know if she was going to be going out to Bahrain in late February, Jim hadn’t said either way and she hadn’t even thought about it. Maybe she wouldn’t even get to meet the drivers, just sit in her office sipping coffee and colour correcting others’ photos. Maybe when Jim had said it was one-on-one work, he meant just assisting with posting with one of the photographers, not the actual drivers.
After a few hours of Aria showing Bella around the office, and Bella showing Aria around her camera kit, Jim popped his head back around the door.
“Bella, could you come with me? You don’t need anything with you, just yourself is great.”
Bella followed him out in the corridor, and they started walking towards the lifts.
“Honestly Bella, I was so impressed with your portfolio that I wanted to kind of ‘chuck you into the deep end’, so they say” He pushed the button, to call the elevator. “We’ve decided to pair you up with someone special for this season, that’s if you’re willing to, and you get on well. I’m sure you will, it’s near on impossible not to with this one…”
They stepped into the elevator, and Bella’s mouth had gone dry. Who was he taking her to? And why did he look so smug?
She followed Jim down various corridors, stopping to say hello to the odd person here and there, occasional hasty introductions before being whisked off again down more of the maze. Finally, they came to another meeting room with glass walls. Bella could see there were others in the room but they had their backs to the glass. Jim opened the door.
“Bella, meet Lando Norris. You’ll be working with him closely this season, I hope.”
Lando Norris turned his head upon hearing his name and made eye contact with Bella. A huge smile broke across his face.
“Bella, it’s so nice to meet you! I’ve been waiting all day to find out about my new teammate. I hope you’re ready for some chaos!”
“Lando, less of the chaos. You’ll worry her before she’s even begun” Said Jim, as he turned to Bella “It’s not chaos, these lot can just be a bit unpredictable at times, it’s like herding cats, especially when it comes to this one.”
“I keep you on your toes, Jim, you love it really,” Said Lando playfully as he approached them.
Bella instinctively put her hand out to Lando, but he laughed.
“Bring it in for a hug, we’re practically family now”
Bella laughed nervously but gave Lando a brief hug. Jim left them alone to ‘get acquainted’ as he had put it. Bella was glad, she wanted to get to know Lando, what kind of material he wanted to produce, and how she could make this the best professional relationship she could. Her work head was firmly screwed on.
“So, Bella,” Lando said sitting at the table, “If we’re going to be traveling together, we’d better end up leaving this room as buddies”.
Bella smiled, Lando struck her as a super playful guy, especially from what she had seen on TV.
“I feel like that could be easily done, you just have to tell me what you want from me. What content do you want to put out there to your fans? What are we going for this year? Still your funny, approachable guy next door look or a more serious, mature version of Lando Norris?”
“I don’t want to be mature; I am happy where I am thanks. What are you trying to say about me?” Lando pulled a face.
“Oh no, I wasn’t… I’m sorry, I didn’t mean…”
“Relax! I’m kidding, I’m kidding. I just want to have fun, I want them to see me as I am, none of this pouting and posing the other boys do. I mean, I can do a mean Max impression though, look.”
Lando sat back in his chair, crossed his arms, and scowled.
“Do not talk to me, I am world champion. I am Max Verstappen, I must win”.
He didn’t get much further without cracking up into laughter.
“Honestly, when you meet him, you’ll see what I mean. He’s so serious all the time. Since getting his title, he’s gotten all uptight. He needs to relax and just enjoy it all.”
“Don’t worry, because this year’s world champion will be you, I can feel it already” Bella smiled.
“Now that’s what I’m talking about. Let’s get this show on the road”.

Travels and travails of an Ottoman family
Edna Anzarut-Turner’s distinguished family has lived in Turkey, the UK, Lebanon and Egypt. From there they fled to England at the time of the Suez crisis. Today she lives in Montreal, Canada. Her memoirs are testament to a turn-of-the-century bygone age of comfort and prosperity, before Jews were swept up in currents of change and forced to flee.
Tumblr media
Ezra Anzarut, the author’s great-grandfather
Leon David went to live in Beirut where he assisted his father Ezra in the running of the family firm Jacob Anzarut and Son.  They were very close.
He was my beloved grandfather and I called him Nonno.
I remember my grandfather to be an erudite, extremely interesting, multi-lingual warm and very kind man with a keen sense of humour.
He was known to be an extremely honourable man, and was highly regarded by everyone. Leon, was considered a “young prince” in his youth.
My grandfather prospered greatly, and life was good. He had initially trained as a physician. That truly was his first love. He was, however, obliged to give it up in order to assist his father Ezra with the important family business in the Middle East. He always deeply regretted not having been allowed to practice medicine.
Tumblr media

I was sent a photo of my nonno on a visit to Edie Sellinger, a nephew (on my grandmother’s side) who had settled in “Palestine”.
My grandfather had travelled there with his valet, who made sure he was dressed to the nines, with a boutonnière in his lapel.
The bottom of his trouser cuffs were elegantly turned up so he would not get them soiled. He is holding a silver handled walking cane in his hand, and of course an elegant hat on his head.  Edie (the nephew) is holding a rope tethered to a cow that my grandfather had bought him.
Rokhama (Edie’s wife) told me that when Edie decided to go to Palestine, he went to my grandparents, and asked them whether they would pay for his fare. They did, and gave him enough for a “First class” boat fare, as they did not know that there were other classes. Thanks to that, Edie and eight of his friends were all able to go by travelling “steerage”.
Edie, who was an agronomist, ordered strawberry seeds from the U.S., and he and his friends started a moshav in Kfar Azar. He tested the soil in that area, and found that it was perfect for growing strawberries. Kfar Azar is famous in Israel for its delectable strawberries.
Leon and Caroline’s story: My grandmother Caroline, whom I  called Nonna, was a Viennese lady whose family had emigrated to Turkey for business reasons.  Leon was in Constantinople on a business trip for the family firm of Jacob Anzarut and Son. He was invited to dinner by a family called Mizrahi.  They had two daughters who were friends of my grandmother.
According to my grandmother’s niece Lydia Erdal (whose 102nd birthday was celebrated on 30th November 2016)  my grandmother’s siblings strongly urged my grandmother to drop by and visit at the Mizrahi house.
My grandmother was a bubbly, very lively young lady, who had a tremendous sense of humour, and was very attractive. My grandfather was very handsome extremely well-travelled and refined. According to Lydia, my grandparents fell in love at first sight.   This was not at all what the Mizrahi family had in mind .
They were married in Constantinople.
Tumblr media
Leon and Caroline being driven away from their wedding ceremony in ‘a satanic metal monster’ – the first car in Turkey
A second cousin of mine found a photograph depicting my grandparents as bride and groom in Constantinople. They were sitting in an open car. At the wheel was one of my grandmother’s cousins Sigmund Weinberg (who owned the first two cinemas in Istanbul, and the first photography shop (this was something quite revolutionary in those days.) Next to him was another of my grandmother’s cousins, Carl Carlman (who owned one of the first department stores in Constantinople on the Grande Rue de Pera).
The photograph was taken during the time of Sultan Abdel Hamid who refused to allow cars to be on the streets in Turkey unless they had a horse harnessed to it. It is therefore a very special photograph as it shows the first car in Turkey. My grandparents, Sigmund and Carl are surrounded by Turks wearing a fez and gawking at the satanic metal monster that moved without a horse.
My grandparents went to live in Beirut, where Caroline adapted to the Anzarut Sephardi ways to which she added her own very elegant Viennese touch.  They built a beautifully decorated large villa and were extremely happy there.
Tumblr media
Leon Anzarut, the author’s grandfather
My nonno used to tell me about his travels all over the world. How he contracted yellow fever in Tahiti and the natives looked after him and cured him. He would show me a yellow spot on his cheek which was the only sign left of this deadly disease. He spoke at length of the Boer War and his trip to South Africa, and the wonderful time he and my nonna and their children spent in Aley in Lebanon.
Tumblr media
Edna’s Viennese grandma Caroline (in the white dress), with two of her siblings
My nonna’s family came from Vienna, and left Austria to reside in Constantinople. She too had fascinating stories to tell me about her childhood. During the holiday period the whole family would cross the Bosphorus by boatand go to an island called the Tchiflik Polonais. The Ottoman government allowed Polish expats to settle on this island as they had pig farms, and enjoyed eating pork which was a forbidden food in Muslim Turkey.
There were horses and donkeys waiting on the island for my nonnaand her older brothers and sisters. They rode into the forest, stopped by a waterfall and crystal clear brook, and alit in order to enjoy their picnic meal.
My nonna remembered the musical sound of the waterfall and the chirping of the birds in the trees. One of her brothers or a friend would play the harmonica, and everyone would sing along with it.
They would then hike in the forest, and then climb astride their horse or donkey, and journey on till they reached the village and the inn where they would be staying. They would then call the innkeeper “Gertrude…Gertrude” and Gertrude would pop her head out of the upstairs window and excitedly call in German “How wonderful..they have arrived, they have arrived”. She would gallop down the stairs and welcome them in.
After a delicious and lively supper everyone went to bed. The mattresses were filled with straw and leaves, and my nonna. told me that whenever she moved there was a sound of “shhhhhhhh shhhhhhh” made by the straw filling.
Everyone was so tired after the bracing fresh air, and the wonderful supper that they would all sleep very soundly.
At home in Constantinople, there was a grand piano. The family loved music and my nonna played beautifully. The house was always filled with extended family and friends. They played parlour games like musical chairs, or charades, and then would burst into song when someone played the pieces in vogue on the piano.
World War I and departure from Beirut:  Just before World War One was declared, Caroline and Leon held a lavish ball in their villa in Beirut. All the British diplomatic corps and Ambassador were invited. Leon asked the British Ambassador whether it would be wise for the Anzaruts (being British) to stay on in Beirut as this was part of the Ottoman Empire, and the Turks would be siding with Germany. They were assured that they would be perfectly safe.
In the wee hours of the morning, there was savage banging on the door of the villa.   Armed Turkish guards stood outside. They arrested my grandfather Leon who was taken away and interned by the Turks.  War had just been declared.
My grandmother Caroline dressed hurriedly, calmed my dad and my uncle who were little boys, and rushed to the British Embassy. There were Turkish guards everywhere.
The Embassy was completely deserted. The Ambassador and every single member of the British diplomatic corps had fled the country directly after attending the Anzarut ball.
Caroline, who spoke fluent Turkish bribed some officials who then released Leon but warned that my grandparents had to leave Beirut forthwith else they would all be imprisoned.
My grandparents returned to their villa, packed some belongings and left.  They said goodbye to their staff, who were all weeping and asked the wealthy Lebanese owners of a neighbouring villa to please keep an eye on their property while they were away. No sooner had my grandparents left, than those same neighbours went in and plundered the place.
After the war ended my grandparents returned to Beirut for a visit, and to check on their property. The villa had been looted. Their neighbours informed them that the Turks had taken everything. Upon visiting these neighbours who refused at first to let them in, they discovered that was not the case.  The neighbours had helped themselves to everything.

Take One - H. Holland Blurb
NOTE: this is my first harry imagine, hope you like it! also harry works at a photography company in this imagine and is currently suffering baby fever mkay cool glad we’re on the same page
WARNINGS: eludes to smut at the end but other than that, none.
SUMMARY: husband!harry photographs newborns and contracts baby fever. fortunatley, you’re no better.
Tumblr media
“Angel!” Harry’s jubilant voice follows the unmistakable sound of your front door creaking open. You giggle to yourself as you continue folding the steaming clothes, still fresh from the dryer.
“In the bedroom!” You call out, already anticipating the feeling of his arms belting around your waist, and the familiar lens of his camera poking your back. While uncomfortable the first few times he forgot to remove his strapped camera from around his neck, the protuberance has grown on you.
“I just can’t help it.” You recall him mumbling on more than one occasion. “I get too excited to see you.”
This golden hour in your shared flat was no different. As soon as his heavy footsteps picked up on the house stairs, as did your heartbeat. The arms squeezed your waist next, then the camera nestled gently into your back, his unruly hair tickled your neck and–
You shivered at the newest addition–the cool exterior of his wedding band against your bare skin as his hands gilded beneath an old tee shirt you stole from the pile of clothes currently being folded.
“Today was so fun,” he never asked if you wanted to hear about his day because you always did. No matter if it was good or bad, his job always left him learning something new and coming straight home after to share it with you. Despite you being clueless about what EV compensation is or a stranger to white balance, you smiled and nodded anyway because his happiness was just that contagious. The tells that he’s suffered a phenomenal 9-5 were always there, too. He would bury his face into the crook between your neck and shoulder and plant a multitude of kisses there, while one of his hands glided to lock fingers with yours and squeeze it. And as a treat to himself–and you, as you will be listening to him jabber about his day in detail for the next hour–he always makes the same proposal.
“Let’s order Gregg’s for dinner.”
“Good day?” You query, topping the stack of folded clothes with a final sweatshirt before spinning to face him. He was practically glowing as he bounced on his toes–still clad in loafers with an unstoppable grin.
“Great day!” He corrects and reaches for his camera to bring up his most recent shots. We had these newborns come in today for their first photos.” You awe silently as he scrolls through some of the raw footage taken. Your eyes flickered from his work, back up to him. It seemed that with each colorful bow or animal onesie that flew past his eyes, his smile grew bigger.
“They were so cute!” He cooed, stopping at one in particular. The newborn child in the photo was presenting a sour face towards the lens. “This one reminds me of you.”
You yearn to argue, there is no denying the similarities. Especially towards the beginning of your relationship, Harry was keen on taking as many candids of you walking around your house, playing with Tessa, following your skincare routine, and several other mundane activities. The face the child is making in the photo is one, you too, have shown him on occasion. You simply laugh at the photo and elbow him in the side for the cheeky comment.
“In all seriousness, though. It got me thinking.”
“I never thought I’d see the day…” A gasp leaves you as you rest the palm of your hand on your chest.
“After they left, I couldn’t shake the thought of what you’d actually…look like.”
“As a baby? Because my mother has three albums worth of photos. And you’ve seen nearly all of them.”
“No, no.” He shakes his head, curls flopping around before he brings his fingers through them. “What I mean to say is…I wonder what your baby–our baby will look like.” He breathes out, not daring to meet your eyes. He is bouncing on his heels yet again, fingers nervously fidgeting with the buttons on his camera.
“Oh,” you hum. A few seconds of silence pass between you two, neither knowing what to say.
Until you finally beckon him, “just one?”
“Huh?” His whiskey eyes travel upward to meet yours, a bit of curiosity lingering in them.”
“You said, baby. You only want to have one?” You inch closer to him, hands silently snaking up his back to reach the clip to his camera. When it becomes unclasped, you gently set the piece on the edge of the bed.
“Well, actually I’ve always felt good about two.”
“Of course.” You nod understandingly. “You are a twin, after all.”
“Right.” He chuckles, before getting choked up as you take him by the back of his neck and draw his body closer to yours.
“That’s also double the chance one of them will get your freckles.” You whisper as your noses caress one another.
“Or your laugh.” He mimics your hushed tone.
“Or your curls.” You add.
“Or your dimples.” He suggests.
“Or your eyes.”
“Or your eyes.”
“Harry…” You start.
“Yes, angel?”
“Do you want to stop guessing, and try to find out?” Upon your recommendation, he begins walking forward until your legs meet the back of the bed and cause you to dip down, with his hand stabilizing your every move. When the two of you have proximity so near, his lips are smoothly brushing against yours. But before they can collide in a sweet reunion, he breathes out, just for confirmation:
“Take one?”
“Take one.”

The Importance of Choosing Wisely
Your wedding photographs are more than just images; they're timeless reminders of your love story. It's essential to choose a wedding photographer who understands your vision and can turn your moments into cherished memories.
Start Early and Do Your Research
Begin your search for the perfect wedding photographer early in your wedding planning process. Seek recommendations from friends and family who have recently tied the knot. Additionally, explore online portfolios, read reviews, and view sample wedding albums to gauge a photographer's style and expertise.
Consider Your Style
Every couple has a unique style, and your wedding photos should reflect that. Discuss your preferred style with potential photographers. Whether you lean towards traditional, contemporary, photojournalistic, or a mix of styles, finding a photographer who aligns with your vision is essential.
Meet and Connect
Arrange meetings with potential photographers to get to know them better. The chemistry between you and your photographer is crucial, as it can make the photography process more enjoyable and natural. Ensure they listen to your ideas and understand your priorities.
Review Their Portfolio
Request to see a complete wedding album from a past client to get a sense of how the photographer captures an entire event. This will help you assess the consistency of their work and their storytelling abilities.
Discuss Packages and Pricing
Budget is a significant consideration when choosing a wedding photographer. Be upfront about your budget and discuss package options. Ensure that the photographer you choose offers a package that aligns with your needs and budget constraints.
Ask About Backup Plans
Inquire about backup plans in case of unforeseen circumstances such as equipment failure or illness. A reliable photographer should have contingency plans to ensure your day is documented seamlessly.
Read the Contract Carefully
Before signing any contract, read it thoroughly and ask for clarification on any terms you don't understand. Ensure the contract includes details like the number of hours of coverage, delivery timelines for your photos, and the rights to your images.
Trust Your Instincts
Ultimately, trust your instincts when making the final decision. Your wedding photographer will play a significant role in your special day, so choose someone you genuinely connect with and have confidence in.

Tumblr media
Savannah and Arya September 9, 2023
---
Savannah and Arya's backyard wedding was a beautiful and intimate celebration of their love, blending their unique cultural backgrounds and taking place on a picturesque 5-acre piece of land that they called home. The entire event was a heartfelt reflection of their personalities and the love they shared.
The setting for the ceremony was truly enchanting. The backyard was transformed into a dreamy, outdoor oasis, with lush greenery and colorful flowers adorning the space. A winding path of lilies led guests through the manicured gardens to the heart of the ceremony area, where a stunning flower-covered arch was set up beneath a towering oak tree, providing natural shade and a sense of reverence.
Capturing the magical ambiance of the ceremony, a photographer discreetly documented each meaningful moment. With a keen eye for detail and a talent for preserving emotions through images, they beautifully captured the love and joy that filled the air that day.
As the wedding began, the soft notes of a live acoustic ensemble filled the outdoor venue. Friends and family gathered on rustic wooden chairs, facing the altar where Savannah and Arya would exchange their vows. The couple's love story was shared through heartfelt vows and touching verses, celebrating their journey together.
Throughout the ceremony, the photographer skillfully captured the tender expressions on Savannah and Arya's faces, eternalizing their love in a collection of timeless photographs.
Savannah, radiant in her flowing white gown adorned with delicate lace, walked down the aisle with her father. Her bouquet of wildflowers and greenery perfectly complemented the natural surroundings. Arya, dashing in a tailored suit, awaited her arrival with a beaming smile.
Expertly positioned to capture each significant moment, the photographer documented the couple's joy as they exchanged vows and rings on a beautiful Persian rug, sealing their commitment to one another with a passionate kiss.
After the ceremony, guests reveled in the charming backyard, enjoying cocktails and hors d'oeuvres surrounded by the soft glow of twinkling lights as the sun set. The reception took place on the spacious lawn, where a long wooden table was elegantly set with white linens, candles, and vibrant centerpieces.
Throughout the evening, the photographer moved seamlessly among the guests, capturing their laughter, heartfelt speeches, and toasts. The dance floor became alive with celebration, and the photographer skillfully photographed guests of all ages engrossed in the joy of the moment.
The wedding of Savannah and Arya was not just a celebration of love, but also a merging of cultures and a testament to the beauty of blending traditions. The photographer's talent lay in capturing these unique moments, preserving the memories of their special day in a way that would be cherished for a lifetime.
As the night came to an end, the photographer discreetly captured the couple's final dance under the starry sky, surrounded by the people who meant the most to them. Episode Four: The purpose of taking pictures has changed between the past and the current.
Tumblr media
I asked my mother 54 years old about this. My Mother said that before we used to take pictures to document important events as weddings and birthdays, capture family memories such as newborn babies celebrations, and record travels. She said before they used to take picture only if they have something important, or a very happy moment cause cameras were not available and affordable at that time. Moreover, they couldn't receive the pictures immediately after taking it, as the process of developing photos was not instant.
Tumblr media
We still take pictures now for similar purposes, as well as to Share our daily lives and show our personal styles, our food, and establish our internet profile. we can now share our pictures with hundreds of thousands of people using social media sites like Instagram, Tiktok, and Snapchat and became an influencer 'likely if you have a good message to share'.
Tumblr media
Not to mention how our online profile is important when searching for a job, as many employers keen to know how the person present himself. The posts and the pictures became as employment standard.
Tumblr media
Photography has become a means for people to express themselves, pride themselves, create art, and establish a personal brand. In fact, the incredible advancements in technology, such as photo editing software, have greatly assisted in elevating the art of photography to a whole new level.
Tumblr media
For example, these pictures have been taking after the final football world cup 2022. This post has the most likes in the history of instagram, with over than 75 million likes!! #worldcup2022 #leomessi More than a picture showing the happiness, currently people can see it as a branding for the club, the host country, and for the players.
Photography's changing purpose is mind-boggling. Photography used to preserve important events and memories. Yet, social media and smartphone technologies have made photography more about personal branding. It promotes an identity or lifestyle as well as memories.
This doesn't imply people don't care about memories. It's intriguing to see how technology and culture have changed our views on photography. Who can see the unseen?! I'll take lots of photos during the life trip without knowing why.
