‘I’m not going to deal with season 4 bullshit’
Work out so you can seoi-otoshi your other self once he starts making some stupid decisions like playing the seal of orichalcos
(I mean it was a good technical play considering the situation but come on, your plot armour insurance won’t cover that)
But alas- CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT ARC 💪💪

I've been working on a project for a while, and it's DOMA related. If anyone has noticed, there's no DOMA merch, and I LOVEEE THEM. So it's sad to see that basically, all the merch they have is the sticker sheet created by judgearts. I say something pretty often, it's simple but it's "someone's gotta make it". So I did, well I'm planning on it. I've finished designs for keychains for the members of DOMA. I'm still working on scrapping enough money to open both a bank account and manufacturing for the keychains. I'm planning on using vograce as my manufacturer and hopefully in the future, I can use them for future products for Etsy.

I'll hopefully post more updates soon when I have the money to manufacture them TwT

In the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series I really enjoyed all the characters and their backgrounds, and the whole connection to Ancient Egypt. I find the art style and the animation very unique and colourful, there’s no other anime like this. However I am aware that the anime had at least 5 directors, that’s why the quality and the animation style would vary quite often. Which was annoying if I have to be honest.
Since Yu-Gi-Oh! was more than a card game anime for me, I never continued watching the other series like GX, and whatever is out there. It’s just too much focused on the game itself and the new characters are no match to the original ones.

DOMA season in Yugioh
I hear a lot of people talking about the Waking the dragon season of Yugioh and how good it is(agreed) but also that it could have been better if something was changed.
guys, please tell me what it is you wanted changed. you can't just say that and not telling the rest of us what you wanted changed. give me an essay, I don't care. you peaked my curiosity and now I am a dog after a bone.
personally, I would have changed the fight between Yami and Yugi. I want those two to duke it out but without the need to play the seal of Orichalcos so we can see how close Yugi is at surpassing Yami. It would be kinda neat if it ended in a draw.
I wanted Yugi to be more part of the last battle(maybe after the fight with Yami, he got back to his body or something like this?) because I wanted Dartz to be Yugi's Zorc Necrophages.
I want Ryou to be part of this season. no need to pull Yami-Bakura in. Anime already established that Yugi has the ring, so he can sit this one out. but I have a small headcanon that Ryou is the smart one of the gang, so even if he doesn't run around with the rest of them. he could still be of help by reading up on Doctor Arthur's notes or something like that. I don't care what he does; just let him be part of the season, dammit!
those are the things I wanted in this season. actually I also wanted Ryou to be part of KC grand champion ship. that season could have been just a silly slice of life season where we see how the gang are as normal kids for once. lesser risk and them having a great time before the big finally. that is just me. I like a slice of life's episodes once in a while.

Do you think anyone really, genuinely, honestly, truly believes in their heart of hearts that the orchicalos arc of Yugioh: Duel Monsters was anything besides very very very very mid with occasional hype moments.
The Three musketeers of Doma all honestly rule, but Dartz is one of the worst villians in the whole series; bro runs the secret yugioh illuminati for the past 10,000 years but somehow has the screen presence of wet tissue paper. Also! all the bullshit of ohh he feels really bad he gets redeemed despite being responsible for most negative events throughout human history in some way. I hate him I hate him I hate him I hate hate hate hate

hi yeah piggybacking off of my season 4 yugioh post. what the fuck were they feeding the writers.
the animation was inconsistent and often times bad, the plot as a whole was painfully mediocre, and the beginning and end were both slop. but the characterization? best in the series. INSANE. every character was absolutely fucking on point the moment the actual premise of the leviathan and atlantis is not being focused on. mai valentine alone couldve carried this entire season. that’s not even talking about rex and weevil gaining major roles and actually having their characters explored (🤯🤯). not to mention the INSAAAAANE decision to practically role reverse joey n yami. yami being the hotheaded one to not think things through, the one to mess up and put people in danger, the one who has to learn a major lesson. meanwhile joey was out here showing compassion to mai and even rex of all people and making suggestions and plans and keeping levelheaded. WHAT WERE THE WRITERS EATING

I found an intense, amazing (and funny too!) fanfic about Mai's time in Dartz's cult leading up to her first solo mission.
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14318039/1/Stalemate
In the weeks leading up to the San Francisco mission, Mai and Valon form an uneasy alliance. Never mind the smashed crockery, failed scams and terrible decisions. Gen; Mai/Valon if you squint.

Fanfic: Cohesion
Dartz can and will make it so Alister cannot pursue his vengeance against Kaiba if he doesn’t make a serious effort to be cohesive. It is the only reason Alister is doing the bare minimum of what Dartz asks, but that’s all he’s resolved to do.
[Set a couple years before canon and in Alister’s perspective, no pairings.]
Charas: Alister, Raphael, Valon

Chapter 4 has finally been posted, completing this fic! Thanks everyone for your patience!

You know what they should have done in YuGiOh? You know what would have made a cool antagonist/monster?
This piece of work ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Tumblr media
Apep (aka Apophis)
(aka Apophis) was a monstrous snake from Egyptian mythology. It’s not clear, but it seems like Apep has existed for, well, eternity. He was born from either goddess Neith’s saliva or Ra’s umbilical cord (no seriously). He’s just about always a snake (a creature normally respected and even admired in Egyptian lore, but not in this case…) and a big one. I mean, huge. Accounts vary, but he’s been described as reaching 16-120 yards in length (48-360 feet). Either way, he was a unit.
Egyptian mythology is fairly grey when it comes to good and evil, but when it comes to Apep…yeah no, they make it crystal clear that m*therf*cker was evil incarnate and every one feared and hated him. Saying his name alone was cursed, like Voldemort.
And for good reason, because Apep was a damn beast. Even the gods were nervous about him.
He created storms, earthquakes, and eclipses with his roar or just by moving. He could hypnotize people, mortals and gods alike, and he devoured souls, living and dead. The worst part of that, though, was that the souls would not die. Instead, they would be trapped in an endless void of darkness that was basically a hellish limbo. But, most of all, his favorite thing to do was pick fights with the sun god Ra and eat him alive. He would literally swallow the sun whole.
Yeah, that’s what he did. He would come after Ra, the god of the sun and king of the heavens, and they would do battle. Apep’s main goal was always to devour the sun, destroy Ra, and plunge the world into darkness and chaos. Sometimes, he would succeed in swallowing Ra, and it would take all the gods joining forces to free him from the snake’s belly. As a matter of fact, even Set—the literal god of chaos, an Egyptian Loki—would join in. Hell, it’s even said he stabbed Apep with a spear. Seriously. That’s how bad Apep was.
Priests would hold rituals every year to ward off Apep and the rituals consisted of going ham on a picture/sculpture of him. There was even a whole guide called “The Books of Overthrowing Apep”. Apep was essentially invincible, he could not be killed, even by the gods. All they could do was cut him to pieces and cast him into the underworld. But he would always come back sooner or later.
Apep was a bad, bad SOB.
So I’m thinking, how the hell did they not so much as mention him in Yu-Gi-Oh!?
He’s perfect! He’s a primordial kaiju that embodies chaos and eats gods like fruit snacks. Like, screw the Leviathan or Zorc, look at this guy. He makes the Leviathan from the DOMA arc look like a baby. Zorc is darkness incarnate? Bitch, Apep is right there. That job is already taken. Also, keep in mind that Ra was the first pharaoh, the forefather of all pharaohs. About every pharaoh in history was associated with the sun and Ra. Atem/Yami Yugi was destined to encounter Apep at some point.
I seriously wish there was an arc including Apep. Hell, I would sell my kidney to replace the goddamn Waking the Dragons arc with a different arc on Apep (in case you didn’t know, I don’t care for the DOMA arc).
Please tell me I’m not alone on this.
Tumblr media
*bonus
Sometimes Ra (or Bastet or Hathor) would transform into a cat to fight Apep and it was shown in hieroglyphs. Here’s one of them.

I just think that’s neat
