Now that we’re talking about how the show runners seem to be doing all the episodes this season we really need to start appreciating when it’s not like that. Like in series 5 through six or anytime that Toby Whithouse wrote an episode, he ate it up. Like Vampires and Venice, School Reunion back during David’s era, and The Girl Who Waited are some of my favorite episodes ever because there’s so good at critiquing the Doctor’s character. And when you don’t have that and your protagonist is perfect in the eyes of their companion and audience what story do you have?

i was literally about to turn my phone off and go to bed (the podcast i was listening to was like 2 minutes away from finishing) when i got the email notification. crazy timing. thank you toby fox.
#the more i think on it the more i like the idea of us getting chapters 3 and 4 before chapter 5#cause i think it'll leave more room for speculating about stuff#like the knight's identity; i think by end of 4 we'll have much stronger evidence to go off of than we do now#but by end of 5 i think it'll be pretty obvious if not outright confirmed who they are#and i think the wait for 5-7 will be less painful than the wait for 6-7 would have been with whatever cliffhanger 5 would have left us with#considering how much the fandom has done with just chapter 2 i think 2 chapters will hold us over the rest of the way just fine#i imagine that 3+4 will be out by this time next year (at the latest december of next year) and that's very very exciting#toby fox#deltarune
