Story:
Dewfall had always been a strange kit. He was always quieter and more snappy than his brothers and sister, which annoyed his siblings and parents to no end. However, the real problem only started showing itself once he became an apprentice.
No matter how much sleep he got, he always felt tired. Sometimes, he would just fall asleep in the middle of training or while on a patrol, with no warning whatsoever. They went to the medicine cat several times, but they could never figure out what was wrong with them.
Dewpaw's mentor, Flowertooth, was an irritable molly who had no patience for him, shaking him awake and yelling at him to stop being so lazy. Dovestripe and Snaketuft backed her up, accusing Dewpaw of faking it to get out of training.
Breezepaw, Toadpaw, and Duckpaw made fun of him constantly, even dragging him out of camp to random places after he fell asleep as a prank. It drove him insane. He didn't do anything about it until after he received his warrior name.
Dewfall had been on a hunting patrol, and it had split off, forcing him to go with his former mentor. She complained about him constantly, and Dewfall snapped back as best as they could. The final straw, however, was when Flowertooth incredulously asked Dewfall why Vixenstar had ever let him out of the nursery, let alone become a warrior.
Dewfall snapped.
He leaped at Flowertooth, grabbing her by the neck and shaking her intensely, spraying her blood everywhere. The only thing that got him to stop, long after her eyes went dull, was his own tiredness overtaking him. But that was also his saving grace, as when the patrol found them, they assumed that a larger animal had attacked them both, and he was let off scot-free.
The weeks and moons after Flowertooth's murder were already some of the most peaceful moons Dewfall had ever experienced. But it wasn't all peaceful just yet.
Their parents and siblings were still on their tail. But this time, they knew they could do something about it. Dewfall killed his parents first, asking them to come to the beach, saying he wanted to talk to them privately. They were so astounded that their son was actually opening up to them, they never saw it coming.
As the light faded from Dovestripe's and Snaketuft's eyes, they looked at them with pure betrayal, and Dewfall relished in it. For his siblings, he instead waited for them to come to him. Breezetalon, Toadthroat, and Duckstorm were as immature as ever, still playing the same so-called '"game" they played as apprentices. This time, he pretended to fall asleep, and they fell for it like a fish falling for the Twoleg fish-stick trick, dragging him out of camp to the most secluded area they could think of.
He was prepared for them this time, however, and he pounced on them and shook them so hard his head began to hurt a little. When they were done, Dewfall looked at their handiwork with pride and satisfaction.
He was finally free! He could live the rest of his life in peace and quiet!
Dewfall smirked and started heading back to camp. But as he walked, the headache that had started soon after he killed his siblings started to become worse. He tried his best to ignore it, kept pushing himself to find his way back to camp, but the pain got stronger and stronger, to the point where he was struggling to stand.
His stomach swirled with nausea, and his vision blurred heavily. Eventually, something popped within Dewfall's head, and he collapsed, never to wake again. His body was found by the dawn patrol the next day, just a few hare-lengths from the camp entrance.

Some art to celebrate one of my Clan Generator saves reaching 200 moons! These are the leaders of TitanClan. Left to right the cats are Vixenstar, Petalstar, and Snakestar. Lore’s under the cut:
Vixenstar (formerly Vixenleaf) originally lived in a different Clan, alongside her friend and eventually deputy Moonfrost, plus the StarClan guide (I’ve forgotten her name lmao). Moonfrost left the Clan because the Clan sucked and corrupted Vixenstar, who always yearned for more power. She also left, heading for a nicer territory.
Vixenstar and Moonfrost picked up a bunch of cats along the way, including Rattlepaw and Sandymark, who also became deputies. The StarClan guide, who’s Moonfrost’s sibling, had a kit named Swampkit, but unfortunately didn’t make it through the journey and instead became the cat to guide everyone to StarClan. None of the others wanted to be leader, so Vixenstar took the position herself.
The Clan settled into a new territory and called themselves TitanClan, because Vixenstar hoped for a large and powerful Clan whom nobody would want to mess with. The neighboring Clans wouldn’t be much of a problem though, because for the last year they’ve been struggling with war, pestilence, and Twoleg -related problems.
Vixenstar was a cold cat, and very clever. She believed that by making friends with the other Clans, they’d become valuable allies. She also encouraged other cats to have kits, so the Clan would be huge. She even had a litter herself, the result of a brief affair with Sandymark who already had a mate. She had two sons, Driftbrook and Creekmist. But Driftbrook was also quite cold and cunning, and he also craved power. He left the Clan without a trace, although when Vixenstar passed on she would be able to see him again.
Petalstar (formerly Petalpad) was Moonfrost’s eldest daughter. She had a littermate named Wysteriapatch but he was buried alive in an avalanche. When Vixenstar was murdered by a rogue, she was deputy. Petalstar was quite sneaky although much less geared towards potential war than her predecessor. Her mate Falconburr asked to be deputy after the news was broken of Vixenstar’s death, but she chose Alderbark instead, which offended him.
Petalstar’s children are much more numerous than Vixenstar’s, including the senior mediator Orchidshine and the warriors Yewfall, Wishbrook, and Firespirit. Unfortunately she lost her firstborn son Frostkit to a fire that swept through the Clan, but her resolve and pragmatic approach to issues made her a competent and prestigious leader.
As Petalstar started to feel the wear of old age, she summoned her deputy Snakebush to the leader’s den, where they shared a final conversation. He told her his choice of deputy at her request, the warrior Glowfreckle. She told him it was a fine choice and closed her eyes for the last time.
Snakestar (formerly Snakebush) is actually Vixenstar’s great-grandson! While Driftbrook ended up being unsuccessful in his ventures, Creekmist took a lovely mate in the medicine cat Sunwing and that produced Cricketpelt, Snakestar’s mother. She held him to high standards as a kit and was at first unsupportive of him when he came out as trans, but eventually learned to take great pride in him.
Snakestar’s first love came in the form of Harebounce, whom he had a long and satisfying relationship with before Harebounce was murdered by the WebClan border. It was very hard for him to deal with but he was able to move on and take another mate, his second deputy Thundereyes. They actually just had a litter! The kits are Marblekit, Jadekit, and Agatekit.

first off i decided to move the setting to the old territories. this seems to be making things easier, though i had to write out any mention of clan swapping (minus brindletail, but she gets a pass bc she swaps clans for a leader and gets immunity)
but yeah then i had a fun idea: leader/leader forbidden romance
so now russetstar and songstar are secret mates. very fun
all the leaders of this gen have a forbidden romance except vixenstar lmao. russet and song, gorgestar has brindletail, and littlestar’s mate was a kittypet which puts her and her kids under scrutiny
yeah russetstar is going to have some forbidden kittens and give them away a la yellowfang. except they don’t grow up to be evil lol

What is your new/old au about?
Okay, the new/old AU!
After SkyClan was banished from the Clans (I know I said this was pre-SkyClan banishment but this works out better, I think), tension between ThunderClan and ShadowClan slowly began to build. The leaders, Redstar and Dawnstar, silently regret what they were forced to do and the guilt eats them alive. Rather than acknowledge it, they took their guilt out on one another.
Despite the death of those leaders and most of their warriors, the tension between the two Clans is stronger than ever. It reaches it’s peak when ShadowClan’s decaying leader, Tanglestar, accuses ThunderClan of the murder of her mate. She declares war on them.
The first chapter picks up immediately after the death of Tanglestar. ShadowClan’s new leader needs to bide time for his Clan to heal and adjust to the change in leadership, so to due so, he sends a spy to ThunderClan: Shadepaw.
Shadepaw is looking for redemption and approval, and he is determined to secure victory for ShadowClan. He never expected to find friends in ThunderClan; namely, Palepaw the medicine cat apprentice.
Palepaw has her own problems. Her mother, Vixenstar, is plagued by vicious panic attacks and only she knows why. Palepaw knows every single secret her Clanmates are hiding, and even has the dirt on cats from other Clans. Because of her knowledge, she is unable to make friends. How can she possibly overlook her Clanmates secrets?
When Shadepaw joins ThunderClan, Palepaw thinks he’s a breath of fresh air. As a “former loner” she knows absolutely nothing about him and is free to form her own opinions. Of course, she doesn’t know he’s a spy.
As the story goes on, they’re forced to question everything - and everyone - they’ve ever known.

Fallenmoon
Would you look at that, an actual uploading schedule. Shocking, I know.
But enough about that-
Here’s our lady of the shadows, Fallenmoon, a prized gem of Shadowclan and our first medicine cat to be featured on the catwalk.
A few trivia facts about this queen of shades:
1. Despite kin being advised not to mentor kin, Fallenmoon is the mentor of Robinpaw, who just so happens to be her niece via Hazelpelt, Robinpaw’s mother and Fallenmoon’s sister.
2. Much like Victorypaw, Fallenmoon just so happens to have vitiligo and her suffix was both a nod to a white spot behind her fur tuft along with her devotion to Starclan.
3. She, along with Hazelpelt, is half Riverclan and is also the littermate of Vixenstar. Though once Vixenstar had left Shadowclan to join Riverclan with her father after his divorce, the two of them usually only converse due to formalities.

it's the way i'm getting needlessly attached to background characters in my works for me
put under a readmore cuz it got so long. read if you want to see me rambling about my own background characters that i've gotten obsessed with
take this: current fic has all the main characters in shadowclan. all of the clans have issues with each other but windclan and shadowclan have virtually no issues with each other
but i have gotten very attached to the windclan leader, gorgestar. he was deputy for about two seasons before he became leader, and working very hard to gain his clan's respect, as well as learning to lead when he got no experience before being thrown into the deep end.
and his mate, brindletail. she is a former kittypet-turned thunderclan warrior-turned windclan warrior. thunderclan found her when she was about apprentice aged, wandering around lost in the snow, and trained her to be a warrior.
so basically windclan and thunderclan are very pissed at each other for this. they spent all this time and effort making brindletail into a warrior, and then she goes and falls in love with a windclan cat, the leader no less, and switches clans right before leaf-bare, when they need the most capable warriors. windclan has a lot of warriors and a full apprentice den. thunderclan has neither. leafbare was very hard for them. they lost a lot of good cats. and now they're finally starting to just barely recover, and brindletail gets pregnant with gorgestar's kits, and, due to her kittypet heritage, has a massive litter of eight kits, bolstering windclan's ranks even further, while thunderclan has hardly enough warriors to keep itself afloat.
and the thunderclan cats!!! vixenstar is old as fuck. her deputy, morningcry, is similarly aged, and also her mate. morningcry is trying to convince her mate to let her retire and have another younger warrior take over as deputy, but stubborn vixenstar won't hear of it. she refuses to lead without morningcry by her side, believing the clan will be stronger for having its leader and deputy so close. morningcry is very worried because she a) does not want to be leader at all, especially at her age, and b) doesn't want an inexperienced deputy taking over when vixenstar dies, or else they'll be in the same situation as windclan. but vixenstar won't hear of it. she says when the clan recovers enough she'll appoint a new deputy. but it seems like her time is running out
and skyclan... poor skyclan. they literally have like eleven warriors. leafbare hit them the hardest of any of the clans, and they're trying so hard to not show it. but every single cat is having to work their tails off to keep the clan running. the queens and elders are having to help hunt to keep the fresh kill pile full. in between collecting herbs the medicine cat is hunting. the few apprentices are being run ragged patrolling, but not learning all the skills they really need since there's hardly enough time in the day. songstar is literally working until he collapses every single day, and sedgepad is soooo concerned for his health. this is very unsustainable but there's not much they can do
riverclan and shadowclan are at perpetual war with each other for... no reason... *wink wink*. littlestar is under scrutiny as the clans try to figure out the parentage of her kits. riverclan and shadowclan are huge, and although they have nothing against skyclan, they are pressing at their borders, so every clan is on edge. god it's a whole thing.

Another character in Owlwhisker's story, a very important character. Jaypaw was abandoned as a kit by his WindClan mother on the ShadowClan border. Taken in by ShadowClan after an infuriated Briarstar berated Vixenstar at a Gathering for dropping their kits on her doorstep, Jaypaw became a happy, optimistic, glass half full type of kid. He's Owlkit's best friend because he knows what its like to get teased and to have an absent mother.
