Top 10 Health Benefits of Avocado
Avocado is also known as Alligator Pears, which is mainly due to its shape and the appearance of its skin.
Many people tend to stop eating avocado due to its high-calorie content. However, it contains fewer calories when compared to butter.
It is also creamy and delicious, and can be used in sandwiches, omelettes and salads.
Here are 10 health benefits of avocado.
1. Improves Vision Avocado contains carotenoids such as lutein and zeaxanthin, which help to protect your eyes against cataracts and macular degeneration, which are common in the elderly.
2. Prevents Cancer Avocado has been associated with a lower risk of cancers, including breast cancer and prostate cancer.
Avocado contains monounsaturated fat and carotenoids, which contribute to the significant reduction of cancer.
3. Promotes Skin Health Avocados are loaded with skin friendly fats, and the antioxidant vitamin C and vitamin E.
Vitamin C is involved in the creation of collagen and elastin, which maintain firmness and elasticity of skin.
Vitamin E prevents skin cell damage from free radical oxidation.
