6 September Way - 5bed 3bath Manor - w/ CC

Hello again! I am continuing my VintageHomePlan series but hitting the random button on their page and building what comes up! (Well using the builds as inspiration, definitely not building replicas or anything lmao.) This time I got this house, which is way bigger than most houses I play but I had fun building it!

This is on a 3x3 (?) lot and costs around $49k as is, Tesla not included! I just wanted to show the invisible driveway recolor fits perfectly here.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are some of your favorite sites to use for floorplans? I'm looking to get into building in the game and don't really know where to look for anything to do with building besides looking at other simmer's posted floorplans.

Most of the time I don’t really copy floorplans when building; I use zillow and houzz for exterior inspiration, and then I either try to do a floorplan based on the interior photos, or I just wing it and put down interior walls in places where it looks like it works lmao.

However, when I do use floorplans, I either use houseplans.com, or I just google something like “Colonial/Farmhouse/Midcentury floorplan.” I can also recommend @vintagehomeplans! Tons of adorable houses.

Inspiration time!!!

@tarsona asked me in the comments of one of my recent uploads where i get my ideas and floorplans for historic houses from.

Well, it´s no secret that i often scour and rummage through the internet for floor plans to get proportions right and to get inspiration.

I even have an entire bookmark folder dedicated to architecture (i know, i´m a dork :D) and i happily share my secrets with you guys.

This site has an awesome collection of floorplans found in old catalogs from numerous kit house manufacturers. They have catalogs from as early as 1903 up to 1971, so there shoud be something for everybody.

Another source for inspiration could be the flickr albums of “Daily Bungalow”

They have a large collection of kit house catalogs and interior/exterior catalogs sorted in countless albums.

I could spend hours looking at those historic prints and drawings.

http://www.antiquehomestyle.com/plans/ is another site with a great collection of old kit house catalogs.Some are the same as in the previous links, but this site also has other katalogs.

For my more urban journeys into architecture,i often browse websites like

Both sites frequently post stories and articles of houses and buildings from New York,especially when they are on sale.

The realty sites they often link to can be a treasure trove for floorplans,because most houses that are for sale come with a floorplan on their dedicated site.

If you feel the need to build something more international, then have a look at the tumblr of @vintagehomeplans

They frequently post vintage plans from all over the world.

So yeah,that´s basically it.

Not even peaceful Willapa Valley could escape the “wrath” of post-war modernism.

Thanks to @vintagehomeplans for blueprints. Sadly, I’ve gotten to the point where coming up with a design for a house is just too much. Its a nice break to just look at blueprints and pictures for the designs.
